The Worx Braunton in North Devon

Popped in on Tuesday 25th Feb Very warm welcome Both had a really nice coffee, I am not an expert on coffee but this tasted so good, I had black and my wife had a flat white, both very hot. I had a bacon sandwich with fresh granary bread, butcher’s bacon and a nice helping of brown sauce. The manager had a lovely chat with us explaining why we were not able to book a table which i fully understand. The menu is very good and very different and we are returning with friends on Friday for brunch, can’t wait. Gra and Sandy.

Lovely place. Good food. Nice people. Dress code for the staff could be better. One girl had a VERY short skirt. Not comfortable with this. Another in Jeans. Not sure which were staff at times It would be better for black trousers? Some sort of uniform? Save any discomfort for customers??

Nice food. Poor service and a lousy attitude from the manager. After a 25 minute wait for a simple snack, and reminding the waitress that we’d asked for some water, we were told by the manageress “This isn’t Weatherspoons”. The words “sorry” or “apology” obviously didn’t even cross her mind. Yes, the food is freshly cooked, and yes places get busy. But there is no excuse for such an attitude. Oh, and even the forks aren’t up to it

Popped in for coffee and cake, appeared popular as number of locals already having coffee. Order taken promptly and arrived soon after, however very disappointed as flat white coffee luke warm - wonder if staff pay any attention to the task! It does appear to be a trend with coffee houses with varying range of quality and temperature, Macdonald s coffee is usually hot and quality at half the price. Not great experience, we no longer complain just don't return.

The staff here seriously need some retraining! Came for a drink and snack. Sat down and picked up the menu immediately the waitress was asking what drinks we wanted. We asked for a minute or two to look at the menu. The girl huffed and walked over to the other staff and clearly in earshot said they don’t know what they want, it’s not like there’s loads to choose from. I regret not calling out this rudeness! Safe to say will never visit again or recommend.

The Worx never disappoints. A really great cup of coffee, friendly atmosphere, lovely food and presentation. Love it here.

The coffee is fabulous, however we had a takeaway paid and only discovered afterwards we had had a 5% tip added. I was not given a choice about this and in fact had to wait outside the shop because of the queue .. feeling disappointed

We stopped here for brunch before a long journey home. The food and coffee were great, well presented and tasty. Service was friendly. My only tiny criticism is - please don’t use paper under the food. It’s messy and not eco.

Delightful place for coffee & cake in the middle of Braunton. They also have a breakfast/lunch menu, but I did not try it. The Worx was busy & had a great atmosphere. There’s inside & outside seating. Staff were very welcoming & my coffee & cake were delicious. They also do takeaway.

We both had the breakfast brioches and we’re extremely happy! Very tasty and well presented! Clean and welcoming place with lovely staff, will definitely be returning for another breakfast brioche burger! :)

Love, love, loved it here. Great food selection spoilt for choice. Lovely lunch and the staff really friendly. Perfectly placed for people watching too.

We loved this little cafe! Staying locally for a week, we visited several times. The coffee is excellent. The staff are extremely welcoming and the customer service is excellent. They even took the time out of busy service to make a fuss of our dog. Would recommend.

Loud; disco & modern background music. The staff are focused on the atmosphere & music not the customers. The waitress explained the bread was white or granary. I assumed they did not offer sour dough. she appeared disinterested and impatient. the staff communicated very well to one another and were singing to the background music. It felt it was the staff's party.

Had a great breakfast here yesterday, met with family for a birthday breakfast. Had the pancakes, they were delicious. Would thoroughly recommend. Will definitely be back soon.

So friendly and welcoming Staff seemed really happy to be at work and treated us as though we really mattered. The standard of the food and drinks was excellent. Freshly made for us. One of the nicest pots of tea I’ve had! We were allowed to take as much time as we needed to enjoy our food.

Great breakfast prices not too bad had a bad experience with somewhere in woolacombe so this was lovely the pancakes with berries was amazing and the yogurt was great would recommend going for breakfast the staff was lovely

Excellent experience at The Worx in Braunton. Went with my husband and 13 year old grandson. All food gorgeous, coffee the best we’ve had in 3 weeks of our holiday. Service brilliant. Lovely staff.

Dropped in for late breakfast/early lunch. Very friendly welcome. We were seated near the front by the bar. Door was open because weather was warm but wow it is noisy being right by a traffic light junction on the A361. We ordered two sausage and egg sandwiches on granary with tea from our very friendly server. Food arrived within a reasonable time. Started to get a bit of food envy watching other plates being served - must remember to take my glasses next time to read the excellent menu more carefully! Probably wouldn’t order sausages again; we found them rather salty with quite tough skins. Not a bad sandwich at all - just not a great one. If we go back we will ask to be seated away from the front door or perhaps in the courtyard. Great atmosphere and lovely staff.

I’m always made to feel very welcome here with my dog Bagheera. The ladies at the worx are always very friendly and the food is delicious. I couldn’t recommend this place enough.

We come here every time we come on holiday to the local area. Great atmosphere , really happy and helpful staff and a brilliant menu. We both had a coffee which was delish and a sandwich, everything was perfect 😊

Amazing coffee, and the staff are very polite. Thank you for a lovely lunch. Coffee and cake were just what I needed before driving home. Biffins kitchen recommend you for your coffee and they were not wrong. See you next time for some tasty lunch.

Great for breakfast, not just a fry up but healthy options too. We had egg and bacon sandwich, fresh granary bread, perfect cooked egg, not greasy, also scrambled egg on sourdough toast. Perfectly cooked eggs, fresh coffee. Staff super friendly, nothing too much trouble, reasonable price. Definitely give it a go, they do lunches and yummy cakes too.

Staff were really good. I had the greenish smoothie which was nice to say the least. While my relative had a cup of tea

All four of us had different things for brunch, all were really good. Loved my Eggs benny. Staff were lovely and attentive. Coffee was milky and weak on flavour, I've had better from a Costa machine. Seems odd to spend £10K on a coffee machine and not learn how use it properly.

We have been to the Worx many times, whether it’s been for breakfast, lunch or just for a coffee, we highly recommend it. There really is something for everyone on the menu and the team are always very accommodating. The courtyard garden is also a really nice addition too, especially for warmer sunnier days. This is definitely our local go to place as it has such a great atmosphere and a very friendly group of people who run it.

Found this place in October when we came on holiday and went back a couple of days ago. Delicious food at reasonable prices, would definitely recommend to others visiting the area.

On several occasions now we have just found the reception as just plain rude. We are local and have tried a few times allowing for maybe just a bad timing thing but each time it’s the same just rudeness and unwelcoming. That will be the last time I ever go near the place. As a local as well I just won’t recommend it to family and friends and my clients.
