Lovely cosy pub, greeted by Debbie who took us to our table, very friendly and helpful ☺️ We ordered our food and drinks at the bar and the lovely young girl brought our drinks over to us which is a big help to me as I use a walking stick. Food came within a good time and was all really lovely. Staff are very polite and helpful, I need to mention Archie especially, he is such a polite and lovely young man and made sure we had all we needed, he is a credit to you. A wonderful visit and will most definitely be back xx

Were regulars, took a friend for dinner on Bank holiday Monday. Pub quiet hardly any staff on, had a to wait a long time for someone to take booking, when meal arrives no steak knife had to ask for tartar sauce another wait then asked for mustard blank look, had to go and ask. Ordered dessert after 30 mins nothing had to re order then another 20 odd minutes we were actually at bar cancelling dessert when it turned up. Overall our guest was not impressed and neither were we.

This was my second visit to the Woolpack. I can honestly say that I never had such a warm & friendly welcome in any pub before and on both occasions. We were on our boat & had walked up from the canal, we were made to feel like we were old regulars that had been going in for years, it was lovely. We will now ensure that we call in each time we are on our boat (we are moored at Aston Marina!) I would like to make a suggestion if I may. On the canal, some sort of signage, perhaps at the bridge, would tell boaters that the Woolpack is there and give directions to it. The other pub there, which is very unfriendly must pick up the passing boaters as it is visible from the canal.

I went to the wool pack in Weston on Thursday late afternoon around 5pm as my partner and l fancied a steak and have been here before and know how good they are. We invited some friends to come along with use and they have never been here before, and I couldn’t praise the meals are lovely we all ordered steak as it was a steak night we all started our meals commented how lovely they were. As l carried on eating my meal I became very aware that my steak wasn’t tasting very nice I swallowed one piece and went to cut another piece and I thought this wasn’t right. I gave my partner a taste and he he spat it out straight away. It tasted like chemicals have been poured all over it. I complained and the meal went back and they brought another meal out for me, even though it was another piece of steak there was signs of this chemical which was on it Manager , she took it away and she tried it and said there was a taste and that she would send the piece off to be analysed. after eating the first little bit steak, my tongue was tingling so I know there is something really wrong with it. The management tried to connect to deny everything and we weren’t very happy with the service would offered any put in or extra drinks. Yes they took they didn’t charge me for the two meals which I didn’t eat beside the poetic could’ve been handled differently and asked yet I just don’t know what was on it . I work in a pub and a hotel with a restaurant. I’ve spoken to the chefs here and it’s more unlikely it could be degreaser that is on it. The taste was absolutely awful and I felt sick and had to run to be sick whilst I was still at the pub. The management team there turned round and said the stake and chucked away. One said it had been was going to be analysed, so which is it not happy with the service and made to feel like it was all our fault, ruined the meal for my friends and I very bad service Service. I’m 57 years old and I knew a difference between something that shouldn’t be on a piece of food. I’ve worked in kitchens before I’m just not going to let this go. I’ve eaten something that should not of been there to their annoyance.

Visited this place for lunch. Its a lovely pub in Weston. As it was pie day we decided to try them out. Pie and chips and a drink for £12.25. Seems a good deal. We had the steak and ale pie and the cheddar, leek and potato pie. Both meals were lovely. The beer was yummy. I had Director's from the cask ales. There is a good selection of beers. The wine is vastly overpriced for a village pub. Over 18 quid for a bottle of merlot. Overall its a good place to eat but the pub is a little dated in places especially the toilets which although clean are very tatty.

I often visit the woolpack with friends when they visit me. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, the food is tasty and there’s a great choice of drinks. The pub runs lots of special events for the community and is what you’d think of when you hear ‘traditional village pub’. The building is very old so there’s a lot of history all around you. It’s clearly stood the test of time as a central place for the villagers and their friends and families to get together. It also manages to make new customers feel welcome, definitely not a pub where you walk in and everyone turns to look at you, making you feel like you’ve intruded. Debbie, Martin and their team clearly work very hard and take pride in the wonderful pub they run, rightly so!

Annoyed to read the review from Boothy on the cheese night, although if you click on their reviews they clearly like to moan. In a small village pubs are fighting to stay viable. The woolpack bucks this trend by the clear dedication from Deb and Martin. From cheese night to northern soul to the village fete they work tirelessly to keep the pub centre of the village. If anyone has not visited here please do not let the review put you off. Come and see for yourself what a lovely place the Woolpack is and if you fancy the cheese night all you have to do is bring some cheese with you for others to vote on. You will have a fantastic night.

We have been going to the cheese night since it restarted three months ago, and it's great fun. Bring your own cheese (or cheeses) and you get to sample a wide variety and maybe find some new favourites. Deb and Martin work hard to organise the evening and they provide bread & butter, crackers, port, and lay out each cheese with plenty of knives and cutters. The only entry requirement is to bring some cheese---any sort will do! At the end of the evening, you vote for your favourite and the most popular cheese wins its supplier a prize. It doesn't go on too late either, an important point on a Sunday evening. All in all, it's a really enjoyable evening, relaxed and sociable.

Went here for my mums 60th birthday, won’t be going back. The waitresses were lovely, especially Kayleigh who couldn’t have done more to apologise for our terrible experience. We waited for half an hour for our starters to be brought out which left a lot to be desired. We then waited over 45 minutes for our mains, in which time, other tables who arrived much later than us were served their food. We found hair in one of the dishes and the steak was cold. We have been to other marstons pubs where the food has been a far better quality. We received a 20% discount off the meals for the poor experience. We left feeling as though the waitresses were let down by an unorganised kitchen and were thoroughly disappointed by the experience.

Good selection of drinks on tap.. My order. Steak n ale pie, peas, chips.. Pie about 10cm across, more gravy than anything, not a chunk of steak more like leftovers from sunday lunch. Not what i would expect from a country pub.. Peas, luke warm and actually counted 11 chips... Service to clear main course poor, and pub wasn't busy at all. Was not offered or asked if required anything else, drink or desert. Eventually an order was taken.. When it arrived it was apple-less apple crumble, or crumble on crumble, and in a lasagne dish ffs, so it was returned to where it came from. Fair enough they took it off the bill. Still, pie, chips n peas & pint cider £17, seventeen quid, for reheated bought in food. Im sure they are proud if what they serve, if they employed a chef, they would get a better quality, if he's worth his salt. As an executive chef, with a massive brigade of real chefs, not microwave techy's who reheat to finish off in the oven or under a salamander (that's a grill) Manager in denial, sure she's proud of her microwave crew. Talentless bunch Disappointing for such a lovely traditional village pub

Went for a meal yesterday and will definitely be going back. I was really pleased with the food options available from the non gluten containing ingredient menu. I had the gammon, egg and pineapple which was very nice, however it was the chips that made it, they were amazing! To follow, I had the gluten free sticky toffee pudding which was delicious. The staff (Kerry and Courtney) were fab, they were very welcoming, friendly and helpful when needed. Thank you :)

Very nice pub - very helpful staff. Because we had dogs we were seated in an area that was very busy with children but otherwise a very good experience. We spent the night in the carpark in our campervan. Would recommend
