Actually ordered a takeaway from here last night for the first time. Thought the prices were a little high but as it's a restaurant first I expected that. Ordered 2 currys, 2 starters, nan bread and poppadoms. I never eat a full portion of curry so usually throw it away as I don't like left overs, however this was so good I ate the rest this evening. So tasty probably the best curry I've had in a very long time and the first time I have ever finished it the day after. Will be ordering again for sure.

Great food. Attentive staff. Nice atmosphere. The menu was varied and food freshly cooked, reasonably priced and well presented

We were on route to Blackburn (to another restaurant actually, Jaans BBQ) when we decided to ring the woodlands and ask them if they had a table free for six. They said yes. When we got there we were greeted by a very happy man who directed us upstairs to our table. We gave our order which was a tawa which included 3 naans and then we ordered a jug of coke and a jug of raspberry mojito. To be fair the food did come quite quick and was delicious. However, we ran out of naan and ordered 2 more for our curries. By this time, we had nearly finished our food. We must have asked for our naans four or five times and by this point we hadn't even received our drinks yet. Our mouths were burning from the food and we had nothing to cool it down with. My father asked a waiter a few times and he had no idea what to do. My mum then went downstairs to ask about our missing food. She was met with a man who told her off and asked if "she still wanted it"!She said yes. By this time our curries had gotten cold and our mouths were in need of some drink. After around 4-5 minutes the same man that met my mother came and aggressively put our two naans on the table. We asked why he chucked it and he replied that he didn't. He then gave my family and in particular my father a lecture about how "he" had 50 customers and was very busy (why don't they have more staff like kebabish). He then carried on saying that there was a massive cue for naans and that "it was our fault" that we didn't order enough in the first place!! How many restaurants have I been to that I have ordered naans mid eating after we had finished the first orders of it. This man kept referring to my mum as "she" and pointing at her and getting very close to my sister in his phase of anger who does pardo and prefers her distance. he then asked my father if "he wanted something for free" and said that "he was looking for things to point out ". Then, after a back and fourth argument, he said he'd give us the drinks for free. We then left and my father went downstairs to complain and ask for the manager. He talked to a woman at the front desk who said that she can't give us the drinks for free but she can give us the naans for free. She lectured my dad saying that it was probably in his fate for this to happen. My father tried to explain that uncle said he'd give it us for free. She then called him and he said we couldn't get it for free. He asked if "we drank the drink" and my father replied yes and he said we could get it on the house due to all the messups they'd done. He then shouted and pointed "just give it to him!!!" And my father replied that do you know what keep your money and I hope you stay happy with it. He said he was never coming back with his family and he wouldn't see us again. This man then came outside and tried to give the money to my father.my father said no.

Food was good as always but the guy on the Cash counter put me in a situation to give him a tip which i felt greedy and him personally did not deserve.

The food was exceptional. Loved every aspect of it as well as the taste. The food took over an hour and half to come out which was disappointing but I'm planning another visit as I enjoyed the flavours so much.

Its important to note that when I booked my table for 6.30pm on a Sunday, I was advised that they close at 8.00pm but they would still take late bookings as they do a roast on a Sunday and the service is really quick. After arriving at 6.30pm, we ordered at 7:00pm. It took them until 7.40pm to get the food out to us (we ordered simple roasts) when the restaurant was closing at 8:00pm. There was another family across us who ordered 10 mins BEFORE us and got their food five mins AFTER us. The staff struggled to explain why there was such a delay. The food was nice when it finally came but at that point it is difficult to judge fairly as everyone was starving. I wouldnt return in a hurry and would advise anyone that if you want good customer service, this isnt the place to go to.

Welcomed very well by waitress was very friendly and seated us immediately. STARTERS. Chicken wings were not cooked proper but manager argued they were because chef used a probe. Waited forever for the mains which were mostly ok. Son got raw vegetables with his lamb rump I’m sure they were supposed to be grilled. At this point we thought just eat and go. Not coming again this is the second time I tried this because it’s local to me both times left very disappointed.

I visited yesterday with my mum and ordered the afternoon tea. There had a promotion on so I decided to book. The afternoon tea was amazing with different flavours. The coronation chicken was amazing and the pulled lamb was. It was so filled! The service was amazing the young lady who took us through was so pleasant and gave amazing customer service (my mum loved her as she thought my mum was my friend, made my mums day). The Asian gentleman came and asked if we needed anything and the chef was so pleasant and really friendly, was nice to see her make the food. We are definitely coming back for the roast dinner soon!

Just in the car on the way home from dining at The Great Chase for a birthday meal and honestly, everything was incredible. The staff were so friendly and made sure all our needs were met - both our kids age 4years and 10 months were served lovely food. We couldn't fault a single thing about the food, the quality and flavour was perfect, served hot and quickly. Lamb chops were cooked perfectly and also loved the lamb shank. The mille feuille was the best we've ever had. Thank you to the staff for one of the most incredible meals. Will definitely be back.

The food was good but we will not be returning. The Chase is massively over priced and the food and service were OK but they need to remember they are in Blackburn not London. My food wasn't that hot either just luke warm. My bill for 4 Sunday roasts and one drink each was over £120 😩 the week day menu isn't much better either. They need to amend their menu and prices ASAP or they won't be in business for long like the Woodlands!! Disappointed.....

If I could rate less than 1/5 I would Booked table for 9pm Did not get food until 9:45pm, but they served us the mains and forgot the starters The waiter asked what we would like to do? We said we shall have our starters and for him to arrange the starters. However the 3 out of 5 mains were cold! They took the cold mains back and said we shall make some more and another 40 mins later we decided to walk out and had enough. 3 course meal ruined due to poor service and cold food. On exiting the waiter/partner Harvey tried to charge us £85 for drinks and mash sides?? After 15 mins of negotiating this got reduced to £50.... for 5 SOFT DRINKS, 2 mains Ruined my birthday meal DISGRACEFUL Do not go here and ruin your meal or time

I can't believe my experience at the great chase. I was expecting great things with exquisite food, and i still can't believe how awful it was. The lamb chops were vile, the pan fried cod was one of the worst things id ever eaten, the steaks were 3/10, i actually can't believe how poor the food was, i still feel sick thinking about it. We all tried every drink on the menu and not one of us liked our drink. We were all disappointed and confirmed we would never come again, neither would we recommend. If you like food and are a foodie, id go somewhere else.

We had visited the Woodlands when it first opened and didn’t bother returning as the prices charged did not reflect the service or the food. However since The Great Chase has opened up at The Woodlands, we visited yesterday during the eat out to help out scheme. They were serving roasts only, which we were told at the time of the reservation. We were seated right in front of the kitchen and this meant we got an insight to all the food being plated up and the chef spoke to us and even offered to take a photo of us, which was such a nice and personal touch. The roasts arrived quite quickly, considering the restaurant was busy for that time on a Monday. I ordered the chicken roast which was so juicy and my husband ordered the lamb which melted off the bone. The gravy was flavourful and the trimmings did not disappoint. The portions were generous but that did not stop us from ordering dessert. We ordered a hazelnut mille feuille and a dark chocolate fondant; neither disappointed. We both agreed that we’d visit again and we’d definitely have to return to sample the normal menu. Yes the prices are a little on the expensive side but the quality measures up in my opinion.

I visited the woodlands with my family - the decor is stunning throughout. The staff work extremely hard you can see the chefs non stop working from the open kitchen and it was a busy night. The waiters also provided outstanding service and were very friendly and professional! The only recommendation I would say is have a few more familiar items on the menu. It would be so fantastic to have a few Indian dishes too. Also changing the desserts around week to week would be great!
