Don't go by looks. It's a lovely place food was fantastic. Bedrooms are nice but flat surfaces would be nice ie bedside cabinets to put phones on. The staff are very friendly,

Called in for food today at 4.45pm to be told they dont start serving till 6pm . We were all hungry and tired but decided to wait and my god I'm pleased we did . Every bit of food was exceptional. I had the double smash burger which was the nicest big mac I have had in my life . My sons fish and chips and Spanish burger was also amazing and the wife had steak onion and cheese pie which was also outstanding and as for the chocolate brownie my god it was amazing . One of the best pub meals I have had in a long time not a single fault

AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID Totally falsely advertised. The place is absolutely scruffy. Booked for one night in a chicken coop! That's basically what it is. 1 shower 1toilet shared between a potential 16 people with a sink over the back of the toilet to brush your teeth. Place is absolutely filthy, holes in the bedding, quilts paper thin, cobwebs everywhere, mattress as this as my patience. Stairs as crooked as the owners, beer as flat as the mattress. This to advertised as upscale bed and breakfast is absolutely ridiculous. I can't begin to imagine what the kitchen is like if that's the disgrace of there "upscale" accommodation. These chicken coops should not be advertised as upscale!!!

Been here at the weekend, not entirely welcoming , the bar lady did say hello etc but wouldn't wait for my husband to come into the pub before hurrying me upstairs to see the room. Room looks really posh but the floor is un even feels like your on a boat, the heating never once came on in our room and I was really cold in the afternoon, I looked for anywhere to turn it on but if you read other reviews you can't control the heating . Plug sockets too close to the floor so it was difficult to find one to charge my phone from. The windows are single glazed you can hear absolutely everything including the front door slamming multiple times every 5 mins which shakes the glass in the windows . There's so many locals that visit the pub they seem friendly enough but they will block your car in the car park so we got a taxi into whitby as we didn't want to loose our space in the very small car park . Taxis take ages to arrive at this pub so the location is definitely not convenient. The bed is comfy but the pillows are that flat I didnt really sleep . There's no desk to do your make up on either and the bathroom sink is the tiniest sink you'll ever see it don't function well There's no welcome pack telling you wi fi etc and breakfast starts at 9am I mean I'm not sure why that is but that's late. I felt not very well welcomed and think they were all about the money rather than caring about their guests. The breakfast was spot on and the lady was lovely that brought that in to us so thank you but won't be visiting again it cost £95 for no proper welcome and a cold room There's better choices out there.

We recently stayed for 2 nights in one of the Shepherd huts. Was a bit of a false advertisement as going off the pics. We thought the facilities were in the huts. Not just one shower and one toilet. There was an elderly couple staying near us and I felt for them or anyone was ill. It's not an ideal thing, really. Some guests were quite rowdy on Friday night, and the lady behind the bar could not apologise enough and stated it's not normally like this. One of the ladies serving breakfast was very apologetic too. Luckily these guest went home the day after. Our 2nd day the pub was busy as the fa cup final was on but as guests we felt we was being pushed out of our seats or that we didn't belong there. The night time was still just as busy and quite loud. It was Saturday of the bank holiday weekend. I cannot fault the food we had in there, both days the breakfasts were amazing! And the meal we had Saturday night was just as good. My regret is not staying around for Sunday lunch. When handing the keys back in, we was not asked how our stay was, so you can have it on here. Also, note, the landlord/owner likes Oasis and didn't change the music once for the whole 2 days we were there. Get another cd or playlist.

A gem of a cocktail bar in Whitby. You get what you pay for so expect a higher bill than the more regular bars and pubs in the area. Relaxed and friendly service. This is not the place for a hit and run pint.
