Lacklustre service and drinks made with sour milk. We managed to get a refund but only after being told that this was normal and the milk was fresh. It really wasn't. Blondie also stale. Outdoor area looking a bit grubby too. Real shame, it's in a great spot and used to be really good. Chocolate cake was nice.

Shocking service. I’ve worked in hospitality for years and the whole process of ordering and receiving our food took an hour, even though it wasn’t that busy and we only ordered toasties. There was a lady also stood next to us who was waiting a ridiculous amount of time for just a cake. Staff look clueless, no system to the kitchen or flow in service at all. Won’t be going back and wouldn’t recommend to others.

The first time I used the cafe - my order was given to someone else so had to complain - but gave them the benefit of the doubt However on my visit this week my daughter and I bought cakes and drinks - extremely poor service - chatting to each other and disregarded our cake order- asked to pay again and then told to get cakes ourselves - very unhygienic as told to get cakes ourselves - told to open cabinet and get them ( hands all over cakes! After picking up dog poo! ) really not impressed and won’t be using again. The gentleman in front asked for a vegan cake and the staff said gluten free was vegan - they didn’t know the difference !

Tried the Windmill Cafe at Waseley Hills today after hearing good things and it certainly didn't disappoint! The sausage rolls were delicious, I had the apricot one and my husband had the caramalised onion one. The cakes were lovely and plenty to choose from. Coffee and hot chocolate were both good too and our dog enjoyed the sausage from the doggie menu. Lovely to sit outside and enjoy on a nice spring day after a long walk at the Country Park. Would definitely recommend.

We went for breakfast at the newly reopened Windmill Cafe at Waseley Country Park. Great breakfast and coffee. The staff were really friendly and welcoming, the home made cakes looked wonderful and we will be returning to try them.

Rated 3 out of 5 due to the food being average. And as always the chefs have a radio in the kitchen with bass booming ,it's all I could concentrate on. Surely the manager knows this isn't ok. I couldn't wait to get out of the place

This is my local. We have not been for a while as it has felt like it has sadly declined over the last couple of years. This is based on the fact that I had 3 consecutive occasions where they didn't have clean wine glasses and I was served it in a tumbler. (Please know, this is a small example of many other issues we had had). Anyway, decided to walk down the canal and give it another go tonight - what a disaster! 6pm on a Sunday and it was out of control. This is a lovely pub, in a great location with so much potential and it was emptied by 3 people who were loudly claiming they knew the owner, threatening to, and I quote "slap the barmaid" and refusing to leave. I've been in a few dives in my time and I can honestly say this was one of the most hostile experiences I'd had. There were 4 of us and we left our drinks and exited (as did, literally every other table) - making sure the poor bar staff were OK on our way out. The staff were amazing but were equally as frustrated by not having appropriate support from management. I'm gutted. This is a potentially lovely pub that just seems abandoned!
