I recently had lunch in the Windmill with a work colleauge and I have to say it was very disappointing. I ordered a BBQ burger and pineapple with chips priced at £6.70. to be honest what I was served with was a cheap 30p cremeted burger, served with a dried out bit of pineapple a sause that tasted of nothing, chips and rather limp salad. My colleauge ordered fish and chips, the fish looked like it was pre cooked and then heated in a microwave. Overall the meal was very disappointing, and as for the staff they took no interest in us or our meal. I know this is not an expensive cafe in the centre of Belfast, but they are clearly trying to pull in the tourists along with locals. They could do a lot better both in the quality of the food and their service.

Fuimos a desayunar aquí.

As clueless tourists, my sister and I walked all over Belfast to get to the Titanic museum. Afterwards I insisted on stopping somewhere to eat and stumbled on the Windmill. I got fish and chips with peas ..absolutely the best fish I've ever had! The peas were pretty good, too. After eating the giant piece of fish I really had no room for the chips however. Serendipity!

My 9 year old daughter and I went here yesterday. The food was lovely, the waitress was so kind to my daughter but her boss at the till yesterday was a complete bully to the lovely kind waitress. I could never go back to somewhere like this where staff are treated to aggressively. The waitress was picked on and shouted at for no reason. I hope the lovely waitress gets a new job as she deserves better as she is super efficient and has amazing customer services skills. I am an honest reviewer and I am giving service 5 stars for service but only due to the lovely waitress who served us.

Service with a smile ..whilst paying the bill we are asked ( by I presume a very friendly owner) how we had enjoyed our food and also was interested in how we where enjoying our holiday ..An Ulster fry to die for .. If memory serves me well, the Windmill Restaurant has been going strong in Belfast for the last twenty years or so. It's not fancy by any stretch of the imagination but serves good, reasonably priced food. Despite the name, this eatery is really just a basic cafe and not a 'restaurant'. However if you're after a fry-up (vegetarian options included), soup, paninis, chips and other such lunch or breakfast options then this is the place to visit. Over the years I've found Windmill to offer a good, consistent standard of food. The poached eggs on toast are spot on as a slightly healthier hang-over cure, especially with lashings of black pepper.

Plates piping hot and food freshly cooked with very friendly staff. Spotlessly clean and small enough to have that cosy feel, didn't have to wait long at all and the best pot of tea we have had in Ireland. My friends and I walked into this place to be seated at a wonky table to begin with which the waitress quickly fixed by getting us some paper for under it. The waiting staff were lovely and friendly, the fries we ordered were good for the price and quite enjoyable. However, the foreign woman with curly hair who I assume to be the boss on the till was one of the rudest people I have ever came across! The place was busy when we walked in and the language she used towards the waiting staff members was disgusting!! Basically telling them to "hurry the fxxk up" "clear tables for fxxk sake" when it seemed everyone was doing something accept her. On going to pay for our meal her attitude was awful her tone was so dry and she almost ripped the note out of my hands! For this reason I will not be returning to this restaurant as I do not want this woman to receive another penny from me.

This is a great spot for a good Ulster fry, prices start at £3.75 for their idea of a small fry, eggs, bacon, sausages, black pudding, mushrooms , potato cakes, and fried bread!! hardly small , and you up until you get to a gut busting Big Fry, which is double of all of the above, with a few extras! teas, coffee and orange juice, surprisingly not greasy and will certainly keep you going for a good few hours, the cafe itself is clean and the staff are welcoming.

Greasiest of all spoons, The Windmill has absolutely no distinct features, hence it not warranting a capital letter. It may or may not have been there forever, nobody's sure. The decor is unchanged since 1995 and great if you love grey. The menu consists of fried breakfasts, fried lunches, and fried brunches. You can definitely get an OAP special.Despite all this, I like The Windmill; the food was nice for a cheap fry, and came pretty quick, and the staff were friendly and attentive. It ain't getting any Michelin stars any time soon, but it can whip up a mean fry

Don't be put off by the small size or furniture in this cafe. This small city cafe provides one of the best Uster "fries" that you can get in terms of fresh food and actually being grilled. Indeed all its food looks - and tastes excellent. Staff are courteous, efficient and ready to answer any request (within reason). Horrible chips which were definitely not homemade. Normally when I order chips in this sort of establishment, I expect thick cut, fresh, meaty ones. Theirs are regular american sized fries, guess it was the cheapest option to buy from frozen. Also the ones advertised in garlic chips came drenched in mayonnaise, a second portion, which to be fair was given without any fuss, had a litttle fruit fly sticking to them. Guess things like this happen, it just didn't help the overall impression. On a positive note: The waiters were friendly and forthcoming
