Ordered 2 kraken and coke and didn’t realise the bartender gave us roast coffee kraken until we sat down to drink them and when I went back to ask for 2 normal ones he made me pay for them . Highly disappointed as this is not what I asked for ! Money not well spent but a cute bar !

I was in whites tavern for lunch and I had the vegetarian stew. I've been a vegetarian for nearly 35 years and it was one of the nicest meals I've had. Not only that but the staff were very friendly and helpful, which added to the relaxing atmosphere, I often walk past without going in but after this I will definitely be back!

Absolutely astonishing place. This is four pubs in one! At the front is a locals bar & in the middle is a long hall that turns into a club vibe into the wee small hours. To the right is a modern bistro type bar with cubicles, log store & fantastic lighting against bare brick. The real star, however, is the olde worlde very low lit bar to the left down the alley with a real fire & real atmosphere. The subtle Christmas decorations throughout & behind the bar added even more cosiness. This is the type of place you could hide for hours in on a wintry day. Didn't try the food this time but wouldn't hesitate. Whoever updated & designed the interior for these bars deserves a medal in my opinion because this is how it should be done - only in Ireland!

Tucked away down a back lane this is a proper snug old pub. Very narrow, coal fire blazing. Great atmosphere. Good selection of drinks and excellent pub food. Highly recommend the chicken stack, served with creamy mash, cherry tomatoes crunchy onions on top and peppercorn sauce. Also the pie of the day (chicken ham leek and mushroom today) was delicious. The house band, was 5 guys just sitting at one of the tables playing Irish music! No stage or anything, brilliant! Really worth a visit.

Booked for a family Sunday dinner and a disappointment from the start. It's a whole story to tell, but I won't be back never. Can't rate the food cos we walked out due to the extreme noise of the place. Is it a restaurant or a football venue?, the staff don't even know, as they agreed with us. Didn't even finish our drinks. Wonderful dining experience for dinner at the Whites Tavern! It boasts as the oldest tavern in Belfast, and has such a charming atmosphere, there is a wood and coal fire in the dining area that gives off a nice aroma through the pub. The seafood chowder was the best I’ve had and the sticky toffee was delightful!

From the moment you walk in You are met by friendly staff They help in every way they can And adept at pulling draught! If its a party you are having Or simply a night out You can't go wrong in trying Whites Tavern that's no doubt! A great place to visit for couples, groups (they have a great beer hall), or even if you just fancy a quiet pint on your own in the more traditional atmospheric old bit of the pub at the back. One of Belfast's historic pubs. The cuisine is good but not excellent. The spaces are really beautiful, large with the possibility of more rooms even in another building (ranging from the slightly dark historic structure to the new large spaces of the new adjacent structure). The staff is young but very courteous. The only real flaw is that if you order whiskey (for which they have an excellent cellar and experience on the part of the staff) you should know that, at a high cost, you will be served half a finger of whisky.

I’ll start off by saying that the waitress apologized profusely and insisted that our experience was not normal. Seemed a busy Monday night when we showed up, but cleared out shortly after. We had reservations and when we finally got seated we waited about 15 minutes before I gave up and ordered drinks from the bar. We got our menus shortly after. We continued to order drinks at the bar rather than with the waitress. About an hour later we got our food (obviously reheated). Mine tasted fine, the wife was not impressed. Drinks were weak and we paid a different price for the same two drinks every time we went to the bar. Overall not impressed, but supposedly it was an off night.

During our visit to Belfast, we couldn't pass up the chance to visit White's Tavern. It’s said to be the oldest pub in the city. It’s very rustic and definitely makes you feel like you've stepped back in time. She’s from 1630. I opted for the vegetarian vegetable stew, and it exceeded my expectations. As someone who typically avoids stews due to my diet, this dish was a delightful surprise. The stew was hearty and flavorful, and packed with fresh vegetables. It was a real treat to enjoy a comforting stew without worrying about any meat ingredients. We loved sitting in there enjoying dinner and a couple drinks.

Well worth seeking out. We were lucky in that we managed to share a snug with others. Stunning architecture, good atmosphere & good service in an extremely busy environment. Well kept Nicholsons Pale Ale. This is yet another example of a superb Nicholsons pub. I've frequented many & they have a habit of maintaining some of the best traditional pubs in the UK. Great to see this place thriving.
