Booked for a family Sunday dinner and a disappointment from the start. It's a whole story to tell, but I won't be back never. Can't rate the food cos we walked out due to the extreme noise of the place. Is it a restaurant or a football venue?, the staff don't even know, as they agreed with us. Didn't even finish our drinks. Wonderful dining experience for dinner at the Whites Tavern! It boasts as the oldest tavern in Belfast, and has such a charming atmosphere, there is a wood and coal fire in the dining area that gives off a nice aroma through the pub. The seafood chowder was the best I’ve had and the sticky toffee was delightful!

Fantastic night for my sisters 40th Birthday on Sunday 15th September. Venue excellent. Staff amazing and extremely helpful. Even helping us decorate. A poem for you all! Whites Tavern Looking for a pub in Belfast Pick the oldest one Established 1630 You know it will be fun A 17th Century Tavern May not seem to be the place Where life, love and laughter Are met with friendly face. From the moment you walk in You are met by friendly staff They help in every way they can And adept at pulling draught! If its a party you are having Or simply a night out You can't go wrong in trying Whites Tavern that's no doubt! My night was awe inspiring A family gathering round To celebrate a Birthday I'm glad we chose the town. Were're very glad we chose the Tavern Very happy with that place We will be back in the future Because we think this place is Ace. Go Whites Tavern. A great place to visit for couples, groups (they have a great beer hall), or even if you just fancy a quiet pint on your own in the more traditional atmospheric old bit of the pub at the back. One of Belfast's historic pubs. The cuisine is good but not excellent. The spaces are really beautiful, large with the possibility of more rooms even in another building (ranging from the slightly dark historic structure to the new large spaces of the new adjacent structure). The staff is young but very courteous. The only real flaw is that if you order whiskey (for which they have an excellent cellar and experience on the part of the staff) you should know that, at a high cost, you will be served half a finger of whisky.

I’ll start off by saying that the waitress apologized profusely and insisted that our experience was not normal. Seemed a busy Monday night when we showed up, but cleared out shortly after. We had reservations and when we finally got seated we waited about 15 minutes before I gave up and ordered drinks from the bar. We got our menus shortly after. We continued to order drinks at the bar rather than with the waitress. About an hour later we got our food (obviously reheated). Mine tasted fine, the wife was not impressed. Drinks were weak and we paid a different price for the same two drinks every time we went to the bar. Overall not impressed, but supposedly it was an off night.

During our visit to Belfast, we couldn't pass up the chance to visit White's Tavern. It’s said to be the oldest pub in the city. It’s very rustic and definitely makes you feel like you've stepped back in time. She’s from 1630. I opted for the vegetarian vegetable stew, and it exceeded my expectations. As someone who typically avoids stews due to my diet, this dish was a delightful surprise. The stew was hearty and flavorful, and packed with fresh vegetables. It was a real treat to enjoy a comforting stew without worrying about any meat ingredients. We loved sitting in there enjoying dinner and a couple drinks.

Lovely pub with good atmosphere and service. However we were really disappointed with the food. 4 of us got the seafood Chowder and were really looking forward to it. When it arrived you could hardly see the fish ( lots of potatoes) but what was really missing was the flavour 😕 it was more just a cream sauce..I couldn't taste the flavours of the fish at all. We all added so much salt just to taste something. This isn't a difficult dish to do ..smoked haddock in itself adds flavours, fish stock, celery, garlic..I didn't taste anything! Sorry but just being honest. Just jot for me.
