Robinsons Bar and Bistro in Belfast

Great staff prompt service but it was nearly empty upstairs. Clean environment and charming atmosphere. Really pleased to see a vegan menu but it was awful sorry to write this. I had a tofu steak? With a basil sauce ...I think. The tofu was uncooked and raw with a sliver of green pesto over it. The salad at the side was lettuce out of a bag with no dressing on it? Really ? Even a bit of French dressing would have helped. Very disappointed 😞 would come back for wine but definitely not food.

Good food, but the problem was that the next day, I saw the chef spit up flem on the footpath out back of the pub. Also, he should have been at work spreading his germs.

Its traditional, it's like a pub it sells alcohol, there are no bikes, ploughs, guitars, tools, saucepans, animals, toys, sports equipment hanging on the walls. It's a pub. Not too busy on this Friday night.

Didn't get to come here but I have to say that the bouncer on 17/2/2025 was such a good person. My son was exhausted after a long day and we were trying to get a taxi. He saw that we were having troubles trying to hail a cab and told us to call instead. I didn't get his name, but he was fit, had dark hair and in his 30's or 40's. We will come to Robinson's the next time we're around because they employ good people and the offerings looks great!

Situated across from Europa Hotel, lovely interior , dark, but lovely. Mosaic ceilings with booths off the main bar. Separate lounge. Didn't have food, but the drinks were served by friendly staff. Reasonably priced. Would recommend a visit if you are passing

Visited a couple of times over the weekend. Nice place, really good atmosphere. They show sports and have some Titanic memorabilia. Can be very busy, but not too far loud or overwhelming.

very disappointed when me and my bestfriend arrived outside the bar last night - 20th february and the bouncer was very rude saying what we were wearing was offensive and we would have to be supervised while in the bar, i thought this was an absolute disgrace and i told him it didn’t even matter as what he was saying was offensive never mind what i was wearing, i was not happy. he acted as if we were going in there to cause trouble when all we wanted was a few drinks. i will NOT be back nor will my friend.

Called in for a quick bite to eat before seeing a show in the Ulster Hall. The service was deadly slow, waited for ages. Ordered food in the bar when the food came 20 minutes later, the chips were cold and my friend's fish and chips were the same, there was more fish in a fish finger. Battered cod was in three bits of fish instead of a nice piece of fish. I had to go to the bar for cutlery, ky was a disaster. When I approached the staff to tell them the food for terrible, he said kindly I will tell the chefs. Which the chef's reply would be, if it was that bad why didn't they send it back? I would gladly send it back, but by the time it went back and new food arrived the show would have been halfway through and after the garbage food I had lost my appetite. My advice is if you do eat here get a table upstairs and that way someone will check on your food, and don't eat in the bar full stop. Very disappointed.

Quickly turned into our goto bar while residing at a nearby hotel, great Irish vibes and music, great pint of Guinness too!

Always one of my favourite places to call for a Guinness. Great traditional bar that has retained its soul.

It was a few years ago me and my father visited here, £5 for burger, pint and a game of pool or something similar. Bargain

It is a typical Irish place that you will never forget. I recommend that you order one Pint of Guinness.

This is a busy bar and the staff are great, but it's very expensive for a pint compared with other bars a few hundred metres away.

Play actually ate dinner upstairs Which was very quiet and lovely,you could not hear the bar downstairs. Had outstanding food and service. Then popped in the bar for a pint which was absolutely a local Vibe so fun

Excellent Pre-Show menu dinner. The Beef and Guinness pie was superb as were the Irish Coffees.

Been here many times over the years and have always got great food. My last visit was a bit disappointing, Pre theatre meal was chicken strips, which came battered but I had to eat with my hand cause the knife wouldn't go through, they were to over done. My partner had the pie which went down well. Other than that great. Will still go back as day been many times won't put me of going back

The Irish Stew was pretty good but it was not warm enough (kinda cold). Irish coffee was great. The waitresses are super kind.

Staff inquired of any allergies or dietary preferences, and when we mentioned we were vegetarian, we received a customized menu that saved a lot of time sorting thru a conventional menu. Also, we were surprised to receive our food much sooner than expected. It was beautiful and delicious!

We started ordering chips and they simply took more than 40 minutes to serve them! As time passed, we decided to order hot chocolate and, oh boy… such a shame! That thing was terrible. Later, we ordered a Robinsons Platter and Chicken Goujons and none of our dishes seemed to be on the way… After asking almost all of the waiters, they managed to serve our dishes, but we were already running out of time for our trip back to Dublin. So we had to eat it in a hurry.

Drank too many beers here this past weekend!! Loved it !! Thanks to all the staff.

Amazing food! For my birthday we decided to have a meal here at robinsons and I’m very happy we chose this place the food was perfect and the staff were very friendly and professional. Food prices are reflective of the good food. They also sell Titos as a choice of beverage which is amazing as it’s the first time not in the states I’ve been able to enjoy this drink. I’m definitely planning on returning to Robinsons after this great experience.

Held a nurse reunion of 50 yrs in the Bistro upstairs. The atmosphere food service was second to none. Paula and Tracey waiting staff and chefs were amazing. Catered for our every need.

Father/son trip from Chicago to Belfast…ate at the 2nd floor restaurant two nights because we liked the food and service so much. After the 2nd dinner we went up to the pool lounge for a few pints and had the best bartender we could have wanted in Katherine. She was a great conversation, informative for a couple goofy Americans trying to find our way, and someone we wish we could take back to our local pubs in the States. Cant say enough about the food here and Katherine as a bartender.

Gorgeous restaurant, exceptional service, delicious food. Get the sweet and sour chicken and you'll be glad you did! The desserts are a bit sugary, but I'm not complaining!

Wait for dinner was shorter than expected. Svitlana (Lana) our server explained everything to us. She was cheerful and fun. Food (ribeye steak) was very good. The only issue was the distracting crash of bottles being tossed in the bin. Overall a good experience. Would recommend.

Very nice cozy pub next to The Crown Liquor Saloon where it is often too busy. This pub is just as cozy and a lot quieter. Good live music can often be heard in the associated pub Fibber Magee's next door/behind it.

The food was absolutely amazing! My husband had the ribeye and the bernaise was amazing. I had the pork and mashed potatoes and I was almost able to eat it all though I wanted to. The service left much to be desired. We had a young server who somehow copped an attitude with us and basically ignored us the entire night. We ordered drinks and an appetizer, had to ask for plates to be removed. Our main entrees were delivered and still our dirty cocktail glasses remained on the table. We enjoyed our food with no service asking how our food or wine was. We had to ask for plates to be removed, still dirty glasses remained. Saw our server talking and laughing with bartender and another server. I had to wave her over for our bill. When we left I told her that her service was not good, sadly she didn’t care. I hope she learns at some point that service from a server is absolutely the key to success for a restaurant. You have amazing food but I’ll never return if this level of service is taught and acceptable. I’m not from your country but I’m glad I’ve been taught that how you treat people is transcontinental.

My favourite bar in Belfast! The food is delicious and huge portions, the service is wonderful and there are different rooms with different entertainment depending on what you want on the day- live music, pool, a bistro. Special shout out to Maria who really went above and beyond with customer service, particularly to reunite me with an item I left behind!!

We ate at the upstairs bistro. Nice ambience and terrific service. Food came quickly and was great. Very reasonably priced for the quality of the experience. Can definitely recommend this.

The actual workers are so amazing and have chats with you but the mangers are the most rudest people i have ever meet so much attitude for no reason at all and just sit and give dirty looks when they should be the professional ones. The bouncer with blonde hair and old ish ruins my night everytime i am there. He always seems to have an issue with everything or just try’s to find a problem. He would come to the top floor where we play pool for i don’t know what reason to just try to have a go at someone. The mangers don’t know how to talk to customers and just seem to start a problem cause they are bored m. The people that work behind the bar are lovely people and so nice they would be getting paid what the mangers do as they do a better job than them. You can’t even tell who the manger is until they have a problem with you and you think they are a customer but really they are the manger who won’t tell you they are the manger until you say something they don’t like

We love going to Robinson’s every time we are up in Belfast and The best sweet and sour I have ever had the sauce and chicken and chips because I don’t like rice I don’t think rice has any taste in the rice and the staff were so very very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us thank you very much

Quite possibly the worst pub I have been to. Rude staff. Terrible service. Bar staff blame the customer. Bar staff blame the kitchen. Food was undercooked. Plate did not have the veg mentioned on the menu. Exceptionally poor.

Had a few hours to spare on returning to scotland by ferry. Done the Belfast tour on the open top bus and our driver Mick was exceptional as was the tour. Popped into Robinsons for lunch and was pleasantly surprised by the decor, old world. Service good and attentive, I chose the Irish Stew which was very good. Would return again and recommend it to others.

Unbelievably bad. The bar man was rude and sarcastic several times. Food took 45 minutes to arrive and the chips were cold and undercooked. No veg. People on next table with same meal did have veg. On another table they sent the meal back and got a refund. When I complained the same rude bar man blamed me! No refund. Terrible place. Avoid.

I found finding vegan food in Belfast surprisingly hard, so it was lovely to discover that this pub had a full vegan menu at a decent price.

We are a local family who visit there regularly, up and down at times but at the moment the management team seems to be very good. Hopefully this should continue.

Went to the main bar and pool bar. Service was quick and friendly. The pool bar was great, had the best chicken burger ever.

Nice city bar with good staff. We didn't eat here so haven't rated it for food although what we saw looked very good. If you smoke keep an eye on the time, as you cannot take drinks outside after 10pm. It's against their license and strictly enforced. There is usually some form of music in the back bar.

DRINKS ONLY Dropped in whilst waiting for a coach, well someone needs to teach the staff some courtesy towards customers. This was a return visit after a fab experience previously. Staff just did what they wanted this time, didn't listen. Certainly WONT be recommending to our next group.

We went looking for karaoke and every where we went had live music, including Robinsons. I talked to the people who work there, and they said that they had just recently discontinued karaoke. It was a treat, though, because the band they had that night was amazing. People were dancing and smiling, and having a great time. Great place!

Vegetable soup - more like tatseless liquid with a few carrots floating in it!!! Ordered Merlot, they bring Shiraz - do they think people don't know the difference??? Complained about the meal - basically, they don't care!

Table was dirty so we went to bar and wiped it off since servers apparently do not. Bartender saw us grab the cleaner and laughed at us. We then ordered food at the bar. Steak and Guinness pie was dry and bland. Probably worst steak and pie in Scotland we had. I would not eat here again.

Atmospheric pub in the heart of Belfast. Loved the memorabilia. No vegan options for food so went elsewhere.

Updated 2024.05.08. There was a second floor for dining with a lift available. It was quieter than the first floor, but still quite noisy and very busy. They were out of a popular seafood chowder. We ordered the fish and chips, a Guinness steak pie with a puffy crust, a side salad, and a local beer. I found the side salad of the highlight of dining here. The fish was large, bland, the chips rather second rate, the Guinness steak pie overly salty, the crust was only a top instead of a crust holding the steak pie. Only the side salad is worth getting here.

Had a really lovely meal here with my daughter for a belated mother's day present. I really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere was brilliant. We were able to sit for a while just chatting over a drink. Would highly recommend to others. Xx

Great pub to visit music every night fab Irish music , good atmosphere had eaten here to n food is fantastic varied menu lots to choose from. We been to Belfast few times n always visit here. Recommend
