ordered at half two and rang to see where it was at half three and it is 4pm and the order is still not here I would love to request a refund this is terrible service.

Called in 5. 15 Tuesday 2 Nd July sat down in the dining in area waited 15 mins nobody came I approached order counter ask the girl do I order here she says sit down and I will take your order 5 mins down she came she says sorry folks no more sit inside we have ran out of chips only in this country the pub with no beer ( saying) they will not need any chips for me again as I will never be back across the door thankyou

First time in this Chip Shop, usually use Beatties Tates Ave, but last time the fish was tiny, my hubby thought it was a battered sausage. The fish in this Beatties was crispier, but still very small and the chips were grand. The problem I had was with the staff, the girl who took my order was ok, although didn’t smile once. I asked for salt and vinegar, and didn’t get any, which made everything tasteless, and my order was literally thrown at me by another, no interaction from the member of staff, she didn’t even acknowledge my presence. I in return did say thank you, because manners still matter. All in all I won’t return to this establishment to pay £24.50 for two Cod Suppers and two drinks and to be totally blanked by service personnel who could definitely do with some form of customer service training to put it mildly.

Absolutely mess of a shop. Took littery two hours for our delivery to come. But that's not the worst of it.. The staff need a good training day by the owners unless the owners know what way there costumers are being treated we rung the shop after it had stated on the app our food was delivered over 25 minutes ago for a girl to answer with a terrible attitude. Saying oh the delivery driver is late and he's on his way back to the store but didn't give us a reason why it said delivered already just pure attitude I'm not surprised after reading all the reviews because it's not the first time witch makes me believe the owners don't care in the slightest. If anyone's thinking of getting of of here you need your head looked at.. Just like the staff

2 hours on a delivery is disgusting if you cant hold up your delivery times don't take them... The shop had our food delivered over 25 minutes ago... For us to ring and say it says on the app the foods been delivered. The girl on the phone comes off with of the drivers on his way back but was delivered 20 minuets ago. Last time I'll order anything of of here.

Wasnt delivered! Had to be picked up and told to get delivery refund from just eat which isnt even an option! ! This is my second order thats had to be picked up because it was late!!

I have been going to beatties for years and the standard and quality of food has been constantly outstanding the staff listen to what way you enjoy the food cooked and cook it to your order. Their fish is nothing short of outstanding ultra fresh and cooked to order and tastes divine I pass four other chip shops and travel over three miles to get to beatties it is that good save time and money by going nowhere else I do

This is a mixed review based on a single visit. It was a cold day and the café wasn't busy so I decided top avail of their sit in facilities. I order my food and a drink and I was directed to sit down in one of the small snugs. After a few minutes my order was ready and it was delicious, freshly cooked and piping hot. A credit to whoever prepared it BUT why oh why serve lovely hot food on to a freezing cold plate! Within a few minutes the bottom layer of food lost all its heat and became unpalatable. The café wasn't busy so i am baffled as to why the plate couldn't have been heated. It simply is good enough. It would have only take a couple of minutes to heat the plate with hot water. Having said that I will return because the food was nice but perhaps not until the summer when the plates will hopefully be warm.

I have just got a pastie supper, 2 sausages and chicken nuggets, the ends of the chips was like trying to bite bricks, the pastie was burnt and greasy that's the first and last time i will visit there. I would not recommend beatties.

Food was ok. Delivery time was a disgrace ordered at 16.35 and wasn't received until 19.15. Never had to wait this long for a food order. Wouldn't recommended!!

That was not cod, thats clearly a cheap alt. Do not buy fish or burgers from here. We always buy from here and its gotten worse and worse as time goes on but today was the worst it's ever been. The chips weren't the same, the batter on the 'cod' was awful and the fish itself wasn't cod. I know my fish, caught and ate them all my life. That isn't cod. The tomatoes in the burger weren't fresh, like its been sat out for days. Disgusting making me pay 10.70 saying its cod when it isn't. Like i said this place has gotten worse and worse especially since they changed owners the quality and taste has plummeted fast

The food was poor this time the chicken curry and chip usually has onions and plenty of chicken, very little chicken this time ,no onions and curry didn't taste like anything so watery and bland. It's a shame as we like eating from here.

One of the best chippies staff is friendly and the southern chicken is lovely. The only down side is don't take cards but bank machines in the Centra up the Street.

Why accept the order and leave me waiting 2 hours then i phone and ask were it is to be told it was cancelled when it clearly was not cancelled until I phoned Useless

Tasty and reasonable priced fish and chips. Loved the chips and it’s curry sauce but was a bit gutted that no tartar sauce was available. I guess it’s not common but you should give it a go and it will change your life forever:-)

Ridiculous portion size £17 for a takeaway fish on its own, small peas, pasty on its own & cheesy chip. Wind your neck in. Seen bigger fish fingers. The photos provided on Facebook by them do not represent the portions or quality you get.

My other half and I dined here today..1st time and would highly recommended.. Fish not overly big but delicious and perfectly cooked with a beautiful bubbly crispy batter, and chips amazing. Not one single drop of grease on either of our plates. Service was pleasant, fast and food piping hot, and not anymore expensive than any other sit in.

I was in Beatties this afternoon. On arrival we could see the sitting area where we sat, the table area was filthy as was the seat, with food stuck to the seat. It doesn't tske much effort for the staff to clean the sitting area after each customer snd wipe the menus of the grease. I'd a fish supper and my mate had a cheeseburger and chips & his son had a hot dog and chips. The fish was half the size compared to the last time I ate in Beatties, snd very skimpy in regards to the fillet of fish that i ate today compared to last time. The chips were coated in grease, as a head chef by trade, id recommend you change the fat in the fritcher more regularly, as there was a coating on the chip's that hss left a funny taste in my mouth. My mate cheeseburger burger arrived with plastic cheese instead of real cheese, and for the price of the cheeseburger, I'd expect it to be reall cheese. I won't be back because of the poor hygiene in the stitting area. Good Hygiene always has to come first always in hospitality, which beatties don't know how to keep ontop of. 🤢

Small portions compared to other chippys for the price no peas or gravy on chicken supper, food was said to be delivered at 6:25pm was was delivered at 7pm. Won’t be ordering again.

Dined in everything is 5p extra to eat in. instead of buying a fish supper buy a fish then a plate of chips you will get considerably more. All in all its a nice place to eat but very expensive. All chippies every year put their prices up when they buy so called New potatoes when they go back to the old potatoes their prices do not revert back again.

Beatties Shankill Chippy absolutely changed my life. After a single gravy chip I am now a billionaire with wings. 40/10
