The Windmill in Lambeth

I've visited here and used my card 5 months ago,. on 9th June. Today, the same amount taken from my credit card at 10:30am when the pub was closed. I was at work and I've had my card with me. So be careful using your card here!

Great food made with love and care, very kind and honest staff, kilo of chicken wings was decent. Prices not bad too.

Very busy but (fortunately) I still found a picture. Very tasty fish and chips.

Possibly THE WORST food in London. 12 of us ate here. Tiny portions on burgers and £18 is beyond a joke. Nut Roast was sent back twice so we asked to be refunded. I question whether the food here is my by a child or someone who has no business being a kitchen. When the complained about the lack of food on the roast the waitress had the cheek to say "the plate makes it look small". Won't be going to back to this pub again which is disappointing.

Been past this pub plenty of times but usually on my way elsewhere. Bar was fairly empty when I got to it, filled up with pre theatre drinkers, then calmer afterwards to the point we managed to grab a table outside. A pint of Amstel is £6 which is good for the area. Service is fast and friendly. I liked The Windmill and look forward to going again.

Popular pub, nice atmosphere. Good selection of lagers but only Fuller's Pride bitter available and poorly drawn. As a brewery owned (although they have sold brewery I think?) pub it should have more bitters.

Popped in on a Saturday evening for a drink. Busy traditional pub with a nice atmosphere. Outside a selection of tables and lots of small cute tables inside. Efficient bar staff. Our table had a handbag / jacket hook, very handy. Clean toilets.

If I could give a 0 out of 5 I would. What a waste of time. We waited 45 minutes to get our food. They served us a caesar salad that was not completed (missing ingredients)…. Twice. We were 5 people and were not served at the same time. Some of us were already done while others were still waiting for their plates. As a tourist it was a complete shame. We missed one our visits because it took us 2 hours just to eat in this restaurant. We will never be back.

Called in for a late lunch after a morning at the Oval Test. We found out later that the chef was about to go off duty when we called in but stayed on to prepare what I can honestly state was the best fish and chips I've ever had. Piping hot, freshly cooked haddock, perfect crispy chips. Really good service from bar staff too. I need to find a reason to go back. Not many in when we arrived but place was buzzing when we left.

Very pleasant atmosphere, well served and tasty food. For a Brazilian, beer is still warm, but very good.

Fullers pub. Food and real ale available. Handy for theatre and public transport, Southwark station on the Jubilee Line, or Waterloo East.

Nice pub with a pleasant atmosphere. Not overly expensive for a London pub but the staff seemed to be somewhat shocked by the fact that I wanted to pay cash for my drinks. I'm pretty sure that cash is still a recognised and legal method of payment in the UK.

Loooooovely little boozer, bartender (also weirdly called Rory, never met another one before) was knowledgeable and quite dashing. Would come here again.

Dreadful Sunday Lunch: drinks fine and average London price; staff good and friendly, Sunday lunch poor and much of it inedible (and we are unfussy and were hungry!): whole meal lukewarm; beef fatty, gelatinous, not just pink but effectively undercooked (and we like our beef bloody!), and tricky to cut; roast potatoes large and like boiled potatoes; Yorkshire pudding like cardboard; cauliflower cheese tender, but unbrowned, watery and tasteless; carrots ok; gravy watery and flavourless. We are what we could and not being asked how our meal was, took our plates in (we'd been outside) reporting to the staff we'd eaten what we could but had left what we had because the meal was dreadful and somewhat inedible. They were sorry to hear that and left it there. Hence this review.

A great place to eat. Typical English place to dine. The fish & chips were delicious, and so were the rest of the dishes we ordered. I highly recommend stopping by, excellent!

A group gathering for a retirement. Nice cosy seating area to the front with sun & a little shade to the front. Plenty of seating inside which was cool on a hit summers day if you wanted. Quick polite service, clean tidy lavatory avaliable.

This is by far the best pub around the Waterloo area. You can book a table, food is great and the service is fantastic! Seriously no waiting around! You have an outside bit too. Saturdays they sometimes have live music - Declan is a great singer. Highly recommend a visit!

Booked a table online, which was easy to do. Staff very nice. We ordered food, which was very average. The Caesar salad was missing its anchovies and the chicken was really not good. I would recommend the pub, but not the food.

Great location to meet up at before moving on and it has great beers but gets way too busy. You can book tables but then have to turf others off when you arrive. Revisited again for a leaving do on a Tuesday night, much quieter and easier to get tables. Service and atmosphere were great.

Nice classic pub, good drinks selection, friendly staff, but smells overwhelmingly of wee, which tainted the taste of the drinks and ruined the atmosphere. Fairly expensive too.

Only drank in here ,but a decent pint of guinness.

The food is terrible. The only vegan option is chips, which are advertised as triple cooked - they are frozen. Shepards pie came without gravy and was dry. Haddock goujons were dripping in oil and virtually inedible. However as far as drinking goes, fairly reasonable price for the area. Staff are also lovely.

I've never had the food but the staff are really friendly and drinks are served fast. It does get really busy but has a nice atmosphere.

Good selection of drinks and friendly bar staff but I don't reccomend the food. The burger was bad. Meat was overcooked, very dry and simply had no flavour. The fish and chips were ok but again no salt or flavour.

Rip-off Pub avoid. £21.50 for a G&T and a Guinness. My haddock tasted off and smelt like the sewer.

Stopped off for a bite to eat...long day walking and sightseeing...my haddock and chips was nice- hubby enjoyed his burger and chips. The atmosphere pleasant- think there was a group celebrating a birthday-also a live singer which he was good, all in all okay.

This pub had a great ambience as I glanced at the photos of actors and actresses on the wall and victorian mosaic tiles surrounding the bar. The bar staff were friendly and attentive giving our pooch a bowel of water. Whilst drinking a bottle of red wine we ordered our food expecting something great. Alas, my tagine was a great disappointment, clearly microwaved as it was cold on the outside of the dish and very hot in the centre. Looking like brown mush with hard potatoes in their skins. My husband ordered fish goujons which were bland and greasy, straight out of a fryer. Menu lacked imagination and as we left at around 1pm, no one else was eating at this pub. A great shame as this place had great potential and could do better with a little imagination in their menu.

Fairly bog standard London pub. Nothing notably bad or good. Had some interesting guest beers and ciders. Was pretty quiet on a Saturday, with no commuters and most of the party people at Bar Elba round the corner.

Absolutely the worst pint of Fullers I have ever had. As flat a a pancake. Bar staff are too interested in talking to each other than clearing tables that are full of dirty plates. Give it a wide berth if in than area.

Very nice place. Food was excellent and well priced. Particular shout out to the staff there who juggled tables round to accommodate my group which was supposed to be four in number but seven turned up! Overall, a great place and very handy for the station too.
