Booked a table after attending an event at the Southbank centre. Despite being largely empty, we were crammed into a tiny table, right by the toilets. When I asked to be moved I was told all tables were reserved. No menus on table & only bar service available. Staff seemed very disinterested. Lots of the dishes we tried to order were unavailable. We eventually both opted for a roast, which would have been nice, except it was stone cold. Won’t be going back

Very frustrating - never replied to multiple booking requests, and did not answer multiple phone calls. Review is based purely in inability to book and communication, rather than dining experience.

Wonderful food. Service got better after mentioning speaking to the Manager. Great quiet location. Tables and chairs a little grimy and greasy. Initially the service was appalling. Staff on phones, no eye contact, no smiles, staff doing as least as possible when quiet. No clearing of tables, no awareness of customers. I initially asked whether it was table service or self service. The manager said “whatever you feel!” Mmmm

Today, I had the Ham main for lunch, which dry and extremely salty. £14. I won't be eating there again.

Stylish pub with varied seating areas and lovely view of Tudor building opposite. Great location for pre theatre drinks/dinner. The staff are exceptional. I docked a star because the courgette fritters were way too battered and greasy but my dish was returned and refunded without fuss. Happy to recommend.

Brilliant little local hide away from the busy parts of Waterloo. We had a lovely young man serve us, the food was delicious and very reasonably priced. I’ve been coming here for years and will continue to do so.

This is my go-to pub when I'm on the South Bank. It's off the beaten track, not full of tourists, and usually on the quiet side. The food, however, is not great, so don't eat here (unless you're ordering the chips, which are excellent).

For a flat roof pub it’s great. Pub does good food and a decent range of beers. Nicely tucked away from the tourists on the Thames or the theatre bars aren’t your thing.

Spot was reserved at 5pm on Saturday before we knew England were playing. There was no problem, the bar was appropriately staffed and we never had to wait and we were served amazingly well. I ordered chips for snacks and they came very promptly. We will certainly look at booking again if we need to. Excellent work!

Specifically booked a table to watch England in the Euros and was put on a table against the wall which had no view of the TV. All the staff would do was offer extra chairs, which didn’t help, because all the other tables were booked. Completely unhelpful.

We had one of our best meals (Sunday roast, followed by sticky toffee pudding) while in London at the Mullberry Bush. Really friendly staff, delicious food, and a cosy atmosphere filled with locals/regulars. We were made to feel very welcome and appreciated the trio we interacted with: Otto, Mae, and Ann. They obviously took great pride in making this wonderful place a great experience for all.

Fun vibrant atmosphere, really friendly staff who were happy to help us for a special occasion. Great drinks and good prices. Recommend popping in if you're around south bank/Waterloo area!

Visited for Lunch, good location and a nice pub however it was really let down by the food. Seafood platter was 90% batter and the prawns had been battered in their shells so were inedible. I raised it and was told “this is how they come”. Great for a drink, not so great if you want a meal.

We had the fish fry selection. Long on batter short on fish and taste. The giant prawn was covered in batter and had its head tail and shell on (under the batter). We gave up trying to eat it after a mouthful of prawn head . When we asked we were told "it always comes like that". Nice decor. I don't think we will be back. OK for a drink but I would go elsewhere for food.

Best place to drink south of the river. Bar snacks were on point. Great service. Delicious food. Really recommend if you’re walking southbank. 😎

Smashing room upstairs for our meeting, loads of space, quiet and private. The team who looked after us were really cheerful, attentive and nothing was too much for them. Even had the chance to indulge in one of their famous sausage rolls at the end, it was delish! Afterwards we decamped to the bar and the atmosphere was so good we stayed far longer than we planned! We’ll be back!

Absolutely a hidden gem!!! Lovely cozy pub with great food and friendly staff!!! We ordered fish and chips and a ham starter with sides of mashed and gravy and cabbage, which they should put together as a meal, it was so good!!!

A lovely looking pub especially in the sun when the front is open. The staff member I ordered from didn’t say a single word in the entire transaction. I was served a 50ml “double” when they are a 35/70 pub (I checked their printed drinks menu). When I challenged they said that is their standard. They did rectify in the end but I don’t really want to drink in a pub that I know is ripping off any customer that doesn’t know measures.

We enjoyed our evening. It was busy and noisy to start with (7 p.m.) but was much quieter by the time we left. Service was very friendly and the food was good.

Came for a family roast dinner as part of a birthday weekend. Staff were very friendly, the food was exquisite and the range of drinks on offer was splendid too. Would happily visit recommend and will recommend to similar groups looking for a nice venue.

Where do I start. Wow wow wow!! This pub is a hidden gem in the heart of Waterloo just behind Gabriel's wharf. The food was excellent, I came with my son on a Friday and the pub was buzzing with other customers having a great time. The team where exceptional, its lovely to see not only how well they communicate with customers but also each other. Couldn't have asked for a better place to spend my Friday night. Would 100% recommend giving the mulberry Bush a visit. Will definitely be back. Big shout out to Dylan, Mae and Bobby for their continued light and friendly attitude towards myself and others they interacted with.

Booked a table for 4 for pre theatre drinks. But an event (baby shower?) had taken over most of the pub. It was incredibly noisy so we left.

We came to Mulberry Bush for dinner and drinks the other night, great experience! The food was excellent, we had the burger and fish pie - very fresh and tasty! Special shoutout to Ann for her friendly and attentive service throughout the night, she made sure we never had an empty glass! 100% recommend and will definitely be back again.

Great Sunday roast and nice chill atmosphere- bartender was really nice and the Young’s London Special cask ale was very tasty!!!

We were very happy with the service and atmosphere! We loved the fish and fries, but the burger patty was a bit too dense, the bread a bit too thick and the fries a bit more salty. Hence we can't give it a perfect rating! (This by no mean means it wasn't all great regardless!)

Booking was seamless. There was a delay in the food and they kindly gave it to us for free. Great flexibility and service. Would recommend.

Kicked off the chairs outside at 9pm. Last orders called 10:15 and kicked out of the pub at 10:30. Last time I visit the Mulberry Bush, what pub in central london closes at 10:30 when the website says 11:00. Possibly the most boring public house on Southbank, avoid at all costs

Excellent choice of beers and ales although a bit expensive. Deya beer is great and well worth a try. Staff nice and quick service. Well worth a visit and not as busy as the pubs near the river although it was quite full.

Had a training session in the function room upstairs followed by few beers afterwards in the main area and really enjoyed the it, the pub looks great, the food was lovely and the service was superb. Thanks Casper, Rufus and rest of the team for looking after us, we'll be back!

Went for Mother’s Day lunch. All 4 meals sent back, cold & served on cold plates. Next 4 the same! Left and went elsewhere.

Went for Sunday lunch and a catch up with friends from out of town. Relaxed atmosphere and great open space. Food was fantastic and really good value and the staff were attentive and friendly. Definitely coming back to try some of the other items on the menu. Excellent

Lovely place to spend an afternoon with friends and family alike

The food here is far better than your typical pub food. I had a Shepherds pie and it was honestly the best I’ve ever eaten. No mince, just delicious slow cooked lamb, gorgeous gravy and delicious fluffy mash.

A really nice pub hidden away in the centre of London. Just off the main touristic area this is a great place to grab a quiet drink with friends and chat. There is plenty of seating and they also show live sport.

I love the Mulberry Bush - warm, comforting, lovely atmosphere. We hadn't booked a table however the staff were really kind and came and got my friend and I as soon as a table came available. Dan our server was great. Friendly, attentive but not overbearing. Thanks for another great night.

We had booked a table for 4 of us and my friend was told they will be closing at 5 which was fine. We were sitting down. We ordered but even then once we had our food no one ever came to clear plates. We ended up moving them. We then get told that the kitchen will be closing at 4 so we need to order deserts. Even though we did still have time. We weren’t even half way through the mains. Then a waitress came over and presented us with the bill while we were still eating our mains pretty much saying we will need to leave by 4:30? My friend said we were told you were closing at 5 to which she starts kinda arguing with us that’s not what we were told. Hardly the best way to chat with customers. We were spending £200 and your trying to kick us out. We explained that we were told 5 and the waitress kept arguing and saying…I’m not arguing or trying to kick you out. You are…that was exactly what you were doing! Don’t know why the manager couldn’t come over and politely say something, apologise explain…anything but no. Must admit food was ok only, but I won’t be going back

This is going to be honest and up and down. We came for Christmas lunch as a group, they were extremely organised and ready for us. The food came out and was so lovely, the drinks, we couldn’t ask for anything better. The staff were lovely at the time. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. We asked if we could leave our Christmas presents as we were going down stairs for more drinks, i said I would collect them another day, I was advised that I couldn’t even help take them down in to the cellar by our waitress as members of the public weren’t allowed there. This was a week before Christmas, the week after Christmas I message to go and collect the items, ‘yes no problem’. when I opened my boxes there were over half of the gifts missing, you would think ‘oh you probably missed a box’, no these were small presents, fitted in 2 boxes, I got 2 boxes back. There were some that hadn’t even been opened. I emailed them and was told there was nothing left. I had a full list of items that were missing. I emailed them and gave them the list, amazingly some were found but unwrapped and still some missing. The worst thing about it, I was told that the courier probably took the other items, the courier was me! Just be careful about your personal belongings when you go, keep anything valuable items close and always in your sight, even things like handbags and coats.

From making the initial reservation enquiry, to pre-ordering the food, to arriving for our meal, we were very well looked after. Communication was quick and our questions answered promptly. Really fun atmosphere, delicious food and friendly staff. Would highly recommend a visit here!

Went for our Christmas lunch. We had ordered our meals in advance and when the meal came the servicer had names against each meal coming out. All the courses were cooked and presented well plus the table enjoyed their meals. Only let down was the custard had spilt for only a couple of the puddings. Over all the pub meal and the drinks were v good.

Accommodated a large group of us at short notice, easy to contact via email and phone, great service on the day. The online pre-order widget doesn't display correctly on a mobile device but you can click "show desktop website" to solve this problem. Music in restaurant was low enough to have a proper conversation. We had Sunday roasts and it was delicious including the mushroom wellington made with vegan feta!

I was surprised by how reasonable the lunch prices were here, given that this pub is located on London's South Bank, a heavily touristy area. My friend and I each had a sandwich from their lunch menu, which had a good variety of quick eats. My friend had the fish finger sandwich, which was loaded with big fat goujons of fish, but the sandwich bread it came with was dry and super thick, and the "side salad" that was served with it was a tiny bowl of nothing more than frisée with one raw onion ring plopped on top. My steak sandwich was listed in the menu as being served in a baguette, but came open-faced on a single slice of sourdough toast. The steak had a decent flavor, but it was really tough and chewy. We were practically the only ones in the pub, so not sure why the food was so substandard.

ok , we are not the easiest customers one of our party is disabled and wheel chair bound also the drinks choices were strange , certain rums with ginger ale etc etc the bar staff ( bobby) could not do enough she was magnificent, so helpful and did it all with a smile this is a magnificent customer focused pub keep up the good work!!!

The food and service was good. But the music was so loud it was difficult to have a conversation. The playlist was also all over the place and didn't add any ambience. It took away from it and made the visit unpleasant. I also ordered more food than I could eat and they didn't have a little takeaway box which I found weird. I had about two-three bites of my meal before I was too full. I find it strange they didn't have one takeaway box in the kitchen.

We celebrated Christmas Day dinner with friends and family. The service was excellent. The staff were very helpful and catered to our needs and they smiled. If things were not quite perfect they rectified it as quickly as they were able. Youngs should not have allowed non-booked people to be catered for as this did put the staff under pressure, which the staff could have done without.

My husband had a bad experience at your pub on the night of 8/12/23 and we emailed you about his experience with the details twice (9/12/23 and 12/12/23), but had no response from you yet. I didn't want to go public, but you left me with no choice but to do so. Basically, you didn't offer my husband any gluten free food, when it is clearly stated on your website that you offer gluten free option food. After he spoke to the waitress, who went to speak to the chef about food you could offer him, she came back with inconclusive and vague responses as to what was safe for him to eat. He was also told you could not even serve him lettuce. Eventually, it became painfully clear that not only were you unable to offer him any food whatsoever, but that your staff lack sufficient allergen and dietary requirement training. It is absolutely unacceptable to lie to your customers by falsely promising GFO food on your website. If you can't even offer him the 'Bavette Steak' which is labelled on your website as naturally GF, don't bother pretending you can accommodate for GF and coeliac customers. He was left with no other choice than to sit at the table and watch everyone else in his party eat. Obviously, he was very disappointed as your website had mislead him into thinking he would be able to eat with them. I don't understand how you as a company can feel comfortable allowing your staff to handle GF customers like my husband in this way. We checked your website before his visit and liked the look of it, so we thought it would be nice to dine there one day. I am completely put off by the idea now. It is upsetting you cannot provide non-discriminate quality customer service. I feel extremely disappointed that you are happy to ignore my emails yet you direct unhappy customers to contact the same email address we have used. It raises the concern that you don't take complaints seriously.

We booked the Xmas dinner several weeks in advance for 2pm. Arrived 1:45pm starter didn’t arrive until 2:45pm (my daughter had to buy some chips to keep her going). The main course was not served until 4pm. The steak and duck were both chewy and the fish had no real flavor, the potatoes and brussel sprouts were good. Staff didn’t seem to know what was going on, no communication about the delays, no proactive apology or any attempt make things right, we saw lots of food being returned. Hadn’t had Xmas with our daughters for more than 5 years and wanted to make it special but it was a really bad experience all round and they charged 75 pounds per person not including drinks. All the people around us had a similar experience and were fed up with the wait.

Christmas menu food was appalling! Starters and desserts were especially poor!! My friend had the Bakewell for dessert and all she got were two tiny Mr Kipling Bakewell slices with a tiny dollop of ice-cream for about £10 (set three course meal was £45 in total)!! Extremely overpriced. Not sure where the pub is getting it's rave reviews from?? Am guessing they're either made up or must of had a different chef and a different menu at the time the reviews were written??

The team was exceptional. The manager Sky went above and beyond to look after us. And Otto, the megalad, was an incredible barman. And the pheasant pie was 11 out of ten.

We chose MB for our work xmas meal on 30/11/2023. We were thoroughly impressed. The kitchen staff were on point with our chosen courses. Each one served hot and cooked to perfection. The only down side to our evening was when the bill was requested, it took some time before a staff member returned with the bill which did not reflect the deduction of the group deposit. After a lot of back and forth and 40mins later the bill was finally settled. Would I go back? Yes!

Lovely pub with excellent service. I met friends for lunch and we all enjoyed the fish finger sandwich. Freshly cooked battered fish in a sandwich - the portions were big and very well presented and cooked. There were lots of people enjoying their office Christmas parties giving the pub a nice atmosphere. The staff were polite and I was very impressed by the barista artwork on my cappuccino.

Our family party of 5 were given menus and we made our choices…….only to be told when the staff was taking our order, that the soup was unavailable (3 had chosen this) as was the Lentil and Mushroom main course ( 1 had chosen) as...

Really great vegan options, tasty and felt like home cooked food. I had the lentil cottage pie and my partner had the vegan burger. Staff are super friendly and helpful, drinks are no more expensive than anywhere else in London.

Bright and busy Youngs pub. Food average and overpriced - £45 for a drab 3 course Xmas lunch- but atmosphere and service made up for it.
