Waterloo Station is more than just a transportation hub, it's a piece of London's history. The station's iconic architecture and bustling atmosphere make it a must-visit for any traveler. One of the most memorable aspects of Waterloo Station is its connection to pop culture. The Pet Shop Boys' iconic music video for West End Girls was filmed here, capturing the station's unique ambiance and energy. The video's nostalgic feel perfectly complements the station's timeless charm. Beyond its cultural significance, Waterloo Station offers excellent transportation options. Whether you're heading to the West End, the South Bank, or beyond, Waterloo Station provides easy access to London's many attractions. The station's staff is friendly and helpful, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable journey. If you're visiting London, Waterloo Station is a must-see. Its historical significance, cultural connections, and convenient location make it a five-star experience.

Bustling and (obviously) well-connected railway terminus near the South Bank district of London, mainly serving rail lines out of London to the South and South West. Whereas it’s super-close to many attractions (you can walk over to places like Westminster or Covent Garden, for example), its direct links to Waterloo East Station, the Bakerloo, Jubilee, Northern, and Waterloo & City Underground lines make this an incredibly useful station and one of the busiest in London. As many others have said, the main bugbear of Waterloo is how busy it can get, especially at peak hours. The concourse is open and relatively easy to navigate, but the multitude of ways in and out, as well as the newly-opened ‘Sidings’ underneath the old Eurostar platforms, makes the station relatively hard to access compared to other London terminals, though this is mainly due to way it was built in the Nineteenth Century. The size of the station and sheer number of people will be overwhelming to many, but there are plenty of seats and nooks as well as a mezzanine level where you can escape to catch your beath or get your bearings. The station also feels cleaner and more looked-after than other terminals. Euston, Liverpool Street and Paddington, I’m looking at you scruffy so and sos. As is the case with London’s rail terminals, there are lots of services on offer at Waterloo, mostly Prets. Joking. Though there is a Pret (or two), you will have plenty of options when it comes to food and drink, as well as shopping for gifts and essentials. There are lots of bathrooms, and these are free to use, and they’re checked frequently. If you like your ‘SWAG’, there’s usually a company or two handing out freebies in the centre of the station, underneath the old clock. As mentioned above, check out the Sidings area for extra shopping and dining options, accessed by the stairs and elevators to the north of the station, near to the poignant Windrush memorial. The area of Waterloo itself is a bit grimy, and there are crime issues in the area (keep your phone out of sight). The locale is in need of some TLC, but it’s next on London’s list. Take it for what it is: a great way in, out, and around the city, and a well-appointed one at that. A functional and decent means to an end, not a destination.

One of London's major stations, it is mainly the departure and arrival station for trains running to and from London in the southwest direction. The history of the station can be traced back to the mid-19th century, but the entire current station was rebuilt in the 1920s. The name of the station "Waterloo" comes from the Waterloo Bridge next to it (but it must not be the classic Waterloo Bridge starring Vivien Leigh 😄). Compared with several other major stations in London such as King's Cross or Paddington Station, I feel that the overall structure and lines of the current Waterloo Station lack design and beauty. I feel that functionality is the dominant feature of this station, so among European Waterloo Station, the third episode of the Jason Bourne series filmed in the era of Waterloo Station, seems difficult to capture in the movie when visiting it in the real world. Even so, Waterloo Station still has some major attractions. points, including the Victory Arch, which was completed in the 1920s to commemorate World War I, and the wall clock, which is known as the most romantic meeting point in London (UK?). But of course, why does this wall clock have so many romantic stories? Is there anything else? There are no similar meeting points at major stations, leaving it up to the visitor to consider.

Serving a number of lines, this is a cavernous area of passages and escalators. Also the location of the shuttle Waterloo and City line running to Bank only. Mainline trains are in continual movement and there are few gaps in the various arrivals and departures. London Waterloo Station, one of the busiest railway terminals in the UK, is a bustling hub of activity that offers both convenience and a touch of history. The station’s size and central location make it a crucial gateway to the south and southwest of England, connecting millions of passengers annually to destinations ranging from suburban London to coastal cities like Portsmouth and Bournemouth. Waterloo is exceptionally well-connected, with numerous trains departing every few minutes, including frequent services to popular destinations like Surrey, Hampshire, and beyond. The station is also directly connected to the London Underground, with the Jubilee, Northern, Bakerloo, and Waterloo & City lines all available on-site. This makes commuting or traveling across London seamless. The station offers a wide range of amenities. There are plenty of shops, cafes, and restaurants, including well-known brands and smaller outlets. Whether you need a quick coffee, a meal, or some last-minute shopping, Waterloo has you covered. There are also ticket machines, information desks, and ample seating areas to make your journey smoother. While modern in many respects, Waterloo retains some historical charm, particularly in its grand concourse and the iconic clock, a popular meeting point. The station has a sense of history that contrasts nicely with its modern amenities. As one of the busiest stations in the UK, Waterloo can be incredibly crowded, particularly during rush hours. The sheer number of people can make the station feel overwhelming, and it might be challenging to navigate quickly if you're in a hurry. While the station is generally well-signposted, its size can make navigation tricky for first-time visitors or those unfamiliar with its layout. The multiple exits and different platforms can be confusing, especially during peak times when crowds are heavy.Although the station is generally clean, the high footfall means that some areas can become cluttered or dirty at busy times. Restroom facilities, while available, sometimes require better maintenance to match the high standards of the rest of the station.Overall, It’s efficient, well-equipped, and historically significant, but the experience can be dampened by the crowds and occasional navigation challenges. However, its pros, particularly the excellent connectivity and facilities, make it a crucial and mostly positive part of any traveler's journey through London.

Waterloo Station is one of London's busiest and most iconic transport hubs. On a typical day, it’s a bustling center of activity, with commuters, tourists, and travelers flowing through constantly. The station’s layout is generally easy to navigate, with clear signage, a variety of shops, and access to multiple underground lines. However, its sheer size and foot traffic can feel overwhelming during peak hours, especially when trains are delayed or there are service disruptions. Cleanliness is decent considering the volume of people passing through daily. Staff do a commendable job keeping the station relatively tidy, although certain areas can still feel crowded and cluttered during rush hours. Ongoing improvements, including upgrades to facilities and platforms, suggest a focus on enhancing the experience for travelers in the long run. When trains are running on time, Waterloo offers a relatively smooth travel experience, but delays are common during peak hours, which can make the station feel chaotic. Overall, while it remains a key transport hub with plenty of amenities, Waterloo Station could benefit from better crowd management and more consistent train services.

Absolutely abysmal staff, had an expensive item drop on the track and they told me they could get it during the night when the station was quiet and to come back the next day. The next day it was still there with no train there and the platform staff told me to go to information, the information desk told me to go to the station reception who then told me to go back to another information desk. Who I was met but the rudest man on his phone who told me he can’t do anything and I needed to go to the platform staff. He then proceeded to go back on his phone and not help anyone. No one cares or even wanted to help. If they can’t do it just say. But no let’s waste someone’s time and be utterly rude about it. Update: a week later the item had disappeared so I went to lost and found ( which is a mission to find) only to be told it wasn’t there and never would be as no one is allowed on the tracks.
