Claire, Frank and myself enjoyed our afternoon tea so very much yesterday and send many thanks to all concerned. After enjoying visits to numerous venues from the basic garden centres to the majestic Chatsworth House for the quintessential afternoon tea, I considered myself as being something of an expert at the varied much enjoyed offerings that we have experienced in the past. I have to say that I thought that there could not be any more variations for us to try. Well, I was clearly wrong! Firstly the generous dish of assorted olives, then the humous with pickled peppers, then the asparagus quiche, were a lovely unexpected surprise and much enjoyed, as were the sausage rolls, cheese and pickle sandwiches and the always superb smoked salmon. Despite us all feeling quite full, we just managed to enjoy the top quality superb chocolate and raspberry tart, flap jack and traditional scones with jam and cream and copious amounts of cups of tea. Impossible to better that!!!!! Needles to say, despite arriving home by 2.50, we couldn't eat another thing until a late breakfast today. Wishing you every success in the future and thanks again xx

Super experience today!. I had a classic jacket potato with cheese and beans and the wife had a beautiful chicken and bacon salad that had to be photograghed. The owners were just recovering from the lunchtime rush but still took time to have a chat and make sure we were enjoying our food 13.30 was a good time to get there!. We were a little full after lunch but had to get two pieces of cake to take away!.

Burton Joie may have a mention in the Domesday Book but the tea room is bang up to date. It is a bright spacious place on the main street of a pretty village. Indoor and outdoor seating is available for you to enjoy coffee and cake or brunch or even an early evening pizza as they stay open till 20:00 some evenings. Service is friendly and prompt in the most relaxed manner. A pleasant efficiency nd friendly atmosphere imbues the place. I could not stay long but I hope to be back ot linger and savour this delightful tea room.

We managed to secure a last minute booking for Saturday evening and we are so delighted we did. The restaurant has a real good vibe about it, there was a real buzz from both the clientele and the staff/owners. The food and the service were an absolute delight without being harsh on the pocket. Bombay Bridgford will now be my go to place . Thank you so much for giving us an incredible experience.

Nice enough restaurant but the chef was our waiter and wore blood stained dirty apron while bringing our food…. Very off putting.. not very attentive and food salty. Only people eating in, and felt like we phone orders were more important. Wouldn’t return or recommend I’m afraid, maybe just a quiet night but enough to put us off and for me to leave this review.
