Had a nice meal here a few weeks ago. Found out that the squid is giggling because the waiter has chlamydia. Takes all sorts.

Nice place, nice atmosphere. Visited on a Wedensday evening. Sticky chicken wasn't the best - it might have been re-reheated. Bottled cider and prawn crackers were really nice.

I think it was a delivery issue, but still incredibly disappointing that near half of the menu was unavailable. The circular tables whilst set up for 4, are not suitable for 4, especially when mains and sides have to be ordered separately. We struggled to fit everything in. Some of the staff members were lovely and accommodating , whereas 2 seemed not wanting to be there; telling us to be patient when politely asking for an update on where our drinks were after 25 minutes, and then snapping a meal name and then sighing when I asked if she could repeat it, followed by near dropping the plates in front of us. Food is pretty nice, although pricey, especially when sides such as rice, aren't included.

Food is nice but difficult to understand the menu.

I love Thai food and I always have a great time when I call in here. The food is wonderful and the staff are always so nice and engaging. Recommended..👍

Great place, great vibe and great food.

I was a bit skeptical about going to this place as didn't want to travel all that way from central Nottingham just for a meal out. To be honest it was worth it and an enjoyable experience. Food was good with a good spicy kick to it. Came to about £35 a head with drinks so these days not bad. The only thing was I would have liked more rice and the sticky rice comes in quite small portions. We had the vegetarian options and there was plenty of choice.

Review 9th March 2024 "Giggling Squid" Nottingham We have been several times to Giggling Squid. But it was our first time to Nottingham Giggling Squid. It's a fabulous Thai restaurant. The food was excellent, as always. I had a very tasty Thai seafood dish, and my wife and friend enjoyed the dishes they chose. The presentation was very impressive. The staff gave us friendly, efficient and fantastic service. Overall, it was a wonderful visit to the Nottingham Giggling Squid Thai restaurant. It has a fabulous atmosphere and we hope to return again when visiting our friend. By the way, the loos were in excellent condition. Thank you so much, Beth and Cleo, and manager Sunny for your friendly service.

Food ok, service extremely slow, staff lovely & friendly. Music a little too loud and I love music. Couldn't hear other speak very well.

Group of 4. Food was okay, I mean I used to have better Thai at other places, the Siam one before it closed down was lovely, among others. All too expensive in my book. 4 people ate fairly normally and was like £180 or something. Service average. It’s got a good rep but so over-rated in my opinion. I think just because it’s in West Bridgford. The place itself is nice enough. I won’t go back here anytime soon. I’d rather eat at one of the ones in town.

Delicious and authentic Thai flavours. We tried the spicy prawn starter and the crispy soft shell crab curry with jasmine rice and papaya salad to go with it. Highly recommended and definitely going to visit again. Note: Spice levels are authentic too and the servers and manager will inform you of it. So be careful about the levels of heat when you choose it.

You have to try the Thai green curry,hot and spicy with lots of flavour! Gorgeous,plenty of chicken tho my friend had beef.

We went as a group of 8, food was lovely can’t complain about that abit pricey for some things though. We got there for 7, ordered food at half 7, we didnt get our starters until 8:15 and our mains didnt come out until 8:30, the waiters was not very attentive on this night.

Fantastic thai food. Service was great and the food was great and with wine and other drinks etc came to a very reasonable £40 per head.

This is a beautiful place to eat and socialise. The food was delicious, with plenty of choices on the menu. We had virgin cocktails due to driving, which we can highly recommend. The service from start to finish was impeccable. We only have Sam's name who was attentive but not over powering but the restoration the staff were lovely too. We highly recommend a visit and will be going back!

Wow.. what can I say about this place. This was the place we went to after we arrived at Nottingham. My husband loves Thai food.. and he said its one of the best he has had. And the portions for the curry were massive.. and kids portions were good as well.. the melon cocktail was amazinggggggg.. thank you for the lovely time. And what a friendly service. Will definitely be returning when we are here next.

Recently visited Giggling Squid - West Bridgeford for our 10th wedding anniversary and had a lovely meal. I have quite a few allergies and was able to see which dishes I would be able to eat by scanning a QR code which was a relief because most places have a massive folder which is complicated to read. Super friendly staff and lush food. Would definitely return.

Have been many times now. Nice looking restaurant central in W bridgford. Service usually good, can be a little haphazard, recently we had to ask 3 times before prawn crackers came out, water never turned up etc. My main issue is that when you order a dish that says prawns , lamb or chicken, you expect a reasonable portion. Today my chicken curry had a couple of strands of chicken (maybe 1/10th of a breast ?) and a mountain of vegetables, i had a prawn curry that had an additional charge it came with 4 prawns, the masserman curry again had lots of potato and a 2-3 small pieces of lamb. I can only deduce that it is a regular occurrence and it is about driving up profits on dishes rather than delivering quality, value for money meals. I went one evening thinking this was just a lunchtime thing as they do lunch specials, but after paying a lot more for the dishes , I experienced exactly the same stingy portions.

Nicholas our server this evening was absolutely brilliant and made our evening, we had a fantastic time the food was great.

I had the red duck curry. The atmosphere was very nice and had a family friendly vibe. I did not make a reservation just went on a spur of the moment, they were able to seat me immediately but I had to track down a waiter to put in my order because I think they forgot about me. The food was flavorful and to my liking so was the mocktail I had and the portions were worth the price. I just wish the waiter would have checked in from time to time the way they were checking in on the other table by me, as I had questions and wanted to add stuff to my order. Don't forget to try the Sencha TEA!

3rd time visiting giggling squid. Food is always on key and never had an issue. Service is great and quick. Parking is paid via an app in a public car park across the road. Recommended place to eat if you like Thai food

This place is seriously overpriced for what it is. Been to a few in the chain and the same experience everytime. Food is mediocre at best compared to the dishes that try to imitate, there are better "Zappy" places in Nottingham that are better, more authentic and cheaper than here. Also, there is an oriental girl working in this branch, she seems to be here whenever we have come and her service mannerisms are extremely sarcastic, I think she thinks she is trying to be courtious but the reality is she is belittling the guests. Also, they sat us in the corner and we had to beg for service. In this price bracket, not acceptable. Then to top it off, they mention the service charge and use the britishness of people so they don't challenge it...

Excellent food delicious when it came but it was so long coming we drank too much. Service was lovely and apologetic and took 15 percent off the bill

A wonderful addition to the Thai restaurant scene in Nottingham. Went here for a birthday meal out and had a great time. The staff (Nicole was our waitress) were attentive, friendly and gave us recommendations on dishes which we ordered and thoroughly enjoyed. The food came out in good time, was piping hot, tasted great with good spice levels. Thoroughly enjoyed out meal and will definitely be paying a further visit. The bill was very reasonable too for what we ordered.

Excellent Thai food served in a pleasant atmosphere by friendly, helpful staff. The squid starter is the best squid I have eaten anywhere and is a MUST. Reasonably priced.

After others’ reviews and a couple of recommendations from friends, finally booked a table for two. A cute restaurant with nice atmosphere and service from the waiting staff. Food was not great at all, so disappointing. The chicken skwers came cold. The pastery of the duck filling was undercooked in some bits and tasted a bit like tuna so we weren’t sure if this was duck or if a fish sauce was used/mixed in as there was no mention of it in the description. The mains were a chicken/coconut curry. It did not taste like coconut at all but was so salty it was overbearing and mainly consisted of carrot and potatoes which tasted stale? The other main was meant to be a spicy chicken stirfry. This one was actually nice but we weren’t aware you had to order the rice and noodles for these dishes seperately???? Since when is this a thing?? Bearing in mind these are £13-14 main dishes of curry/stirfrys. An absolute joke. So after clarifying with a waiter, we ordered a sticky rice that came wrapped in clingfilm in a tiny bamboo container, enough for one person. The portions are not to share so rice and noodles you have to order seperately for each mains. I didn’t remember reading this in the menu or informed by the waiting staff. The drinks were nice. We were too disappointed to order dessert so a total of £67 for two starters, two curries and a side of rice, two drinks, this is. Save your money and don’t fall for the aesthetics which most restaurants are seem to be bothered about these days over the actual quality of food. Respectfully we won’t be returning again :)

Lovely food, good service but drinks a bit pricey

I did mean to write this a month and a half ago. Sorry for the delay. I needed to say what a lovely meal I had for my birthday. The atmosphere was great. Food was superb. Lovely! And they heard it was my birthday so brought out a board with Happy Birthday on and some complimentary ice cream. Great touch!

Absolutely delicious. We couldn't believe how fresh and flavourful the food is. Nico the waiter was brilliant too.

We have been to another branch before and loved it, so when we were in the area and saw West Bridgford had a Giggling Squid, we couldn't resist. Top notch. Lovely staff, lovely atmosphere and great food.

Barmen outstanding prices extortionate £17 for two glasses of wine

It was a good dine in experience would come again but I did request a second soft drink but it didn’t get served to me I’ll cut the workers some slack as the are very busy

Turned up 40mins early for a 7.30 booking and this was no problem. Seated immediately in a busy restaurant. Staff and service was excellent and the food was very good. Soft drink prices were not so pleasing. I will return but I will be sure I'm not driving at least I can enjoy a beer and not a £3.50 diet coke. 3 diners, sharing starter, 3 mains, 1 rice, 2 x diet cokes and a bottled cider was just short of £100 with the service charge.

A superb meal. Everyone was happy with their food, especially the gluten free diet person who had a wide range of choices from the menu.

Food was delicious.However, the portion isn't big enough for the money you pay. It probably would only just feed my child. (I'm not a big person either! Probably 12 stone) It came warm, had to heat it up. Would have been 5 stars other than that.. Would visit but wouldn't rush or be my first choice.

When my family and I went to Giggling, we were welcome by very friendly members of staff. I am a wheelchair user and the accessibility is good. Also the disabled toilet was very clean, smelt beautifully and is one of the most beautifully decorated disabled toilet I have used. We had a lovely person taking our drinks and food orders. She asked us straight away if anyone in the group had any dietary requirements. My sister and her husband requested a gluten free menu, which had a good selection of dishes to choose from. When the food arrived at the table, all the gluten free dishes were clearly marked to eliminate any mix ups. The food was love and tasty. My family and I would strongly recommend the Giggling Squid in West Bridgford, Nottingham, if you are looking for good food, a friendly atmosphere, wheelchair accessibility and great customer service/experience.

We visited with friends to celebrate a birthday and we couldn't fault anything, from the minute we walked in. Sam (our waiter) was so welcoming and helpful, explaining different things with the menu, taking a group photos and also bringing my husband a "Happy Birthday" ice cream treat. The whole experience was fabulous and we would definitely recommend the Giggling Squid.

This is my second review - the original one is missing. Simply the best Thai option available in Nottingham. Great interiors, superb service and yet inclusive, doesn't feel upmarket.

We attended on a quiet Monday evening and the atmosphere of the restaurant was great. The staff were all very friendly and bubbly. Answered all the questions and helped us with some recommendations. The food was great. Started with the one bite salmon and curried balls. Both fantastic. The mains were great as well.

A 5 star recommended in west bridgford signature squid was good. we had green curry and fish mix shared platers All very tasty 😋 recommended

This was our first time at the restaurant. It was really very pretty and the atmosphere was pleasant. The service was okay too. Whilst we enjoyed the food which was very tasty we felt the portion size was too small for the cost. The food was "dressed" to look appetizing but the actual portion size was way too small. We did not feel it was value for money.

This was our first visit, we were a group of 4, Sam our server was very attentive, our drinks order was taken promptly and arrived several minutes later. The menu is well layed out with a plentiful ammount of choices, we had 2 different share starter platers and 4 different individual mains all of which were amazing and tasted as good as you'd get in Thailand (we've spent 6 weeks over there so we speak from experience) This eatery will definitely be a place for us to revisit to try some of the other food option available. This place fully deserves the 5 star review. We look for ad to returning Khob khun...

I don’t really eat this type of food but came to try it! Anyway, brilliant and quick service; friendly staff. I had the Thai beef strips dish - beef was excellent quality like you would find in a butchers. Meal tasted great - presentation was good for both courses. Tried a Chang beer for the first time - not bad. Just think it’s a tad expensive though - especially for the dessert. Overall, tasty food but way too much money you have to pay for the portion sizes.

Very expensive for a takeaway although good quality ingredients. £16.75 for 1 curry dish & some rice. Not particularly authentic dishes (thick sauce) but OK. Doesn't appear to be any discount for takeout collections.

Fab food, not cheap but worth every penny

Food is very tasty, service great. Was worried about being cold because they sat us in the conservatory but they switched on a heater and it was perfect. Wine expensive but everything else lovely.

Great lunch we had the festival tapas and royal tapas followed by a trio of sweets. The Manager was great as were all the staff. It was a perfect lunch experience.
