Sam was a very nice waiter. Amazing food and great service overall. Had a great happy birthday song from the staff.

I would give the food 4.5 stars as I didn’t think some of the portions were great. It was the amount of prawns, beef or sea bass vs the vegetables in the mains. No Chang beer at all for the start of a Friday evening service was a bit baffling too. Otherwise all the food was delicious and the service/atmosphere/decor was all excellent. Will return as the menu is superb and I need to work my way through it to decide what my favourite is.

Been here a few times, always impressed with the food quality, flavours and spice! Had crispy squid and salmon bites to start, melting beef and drunken ribs main. Salmon was gorgeous, lemon cut through and portion size was perfect (4 bite size pieces). Crispy squid had a spicy dip, which I saved for the main! Melting beef was as per description, tender beyond belief. Same as the drunken ribs, 7 clean bones left on the plate. Will be visiting again soon .. served by Sam 😁

We chose here as a celebratory venue after my parents got married. Prior to the day, we asked if balloons could be taken the night before and a bottle of Moet iced on arrival for my mum and dad. When we arrived it was 1pm and fairly busy. The table we were given (4 adults and one child) only had one arrangements of balloons (we had brought 2) and an ice bucket but no champagne. We sat down and waited...and waited for someone to come over...they didn't and so my partner enquiried about the other balloons (which were found in the back for some reason and the champagne). During this we asked if we could move to a more appropriate table as there were so many free towards the back of the restaurant which we were able to. The next part of our experience was the worst. Our waiter came over, and without a hello, smile or greeting of any sort, he just said, 'you ready to order?' I asked if we could have a few more minutes and he just walked off. This continued and with all sincerity I have never experienced such a rude, abrupt service from one person. It was more disappointing based on the fact that my mum and dad had just got married and so we wanted it feel a bit special and he ruined the mood and tone. I'm not one to complain, but the waiter was that rude I went and asked to speak to a manager about it. He was lovely, very understanding and eventually we had a different waitress, she was lovely and even made the effort with my son. Our bill came to over £400 and we did receive a congratulations complimentary dessert which my mum and dad appreciated. But if you're looking for somewhere special to celebrate I would probably suggest going elsewhere. The food was ok, not amazing but the service was poor and I only believe our second waitress was so nice because the manager had mentioned our dissatisfaction.

We managed to secure a last minute booking for Saturday evening and we are so delighted we did. The restaurant has a real good vibe about it, there was a real buzz from both the clientele and the staff/owners. The food and the service were an absolute delight without being harsh on the pocket. Bombay Bridgford will now be my go to place . Thank you so much for giving us an incredible experience.

We had booked for a special birthday Arrived at 7.30 and had starters at 9. Drinks took 25mins to arrive and had to come and get the orders twice as couldn’t remember the drinks. Main course 6 of us had finished eating and one still waiting for mains so had to eat on own. They had to ask us several times which meals we were waiting for, which is odd as they had the order, so assumed the chef would know which meals we had been served. The waiter was apologetic and clearly not his fault as seemed either a kitchen issue or low number of staffing. Our special occasion meal wasn’t that special as most of us tired as room hot so could have left the main altogether given waiting times. Was offered a voucher to return. We didn’t take this up as wouldn’t want to return.

This will be our 2nd night when we enjoyed dinner in this restaurant. It was still the best Thai Resto in Nottingham. The place were so accessible, parking is just around the corner. I can’t describe how tasty the food. The serving and the service were excellent.

What a fantastic restaurant - fabulous food, excellent service. The owner is very friendly, helpful & knowledgeable. We have been a few times previously and it doesn't fail to impress us. We have been looking forwards to our visit for a few weeks as we are not locals we do visit whenever we are around the area. Thank you for a lovely evening

Banging butter chicken, not usually my go-to but had it a friends recommendation.! Never had a bad meal here, staff are really friendly and helpful too.

Disappointed in the food quality and overall atmosphere. We felt as though food was just reheated, did not taste fresh at all and very bland. Felt rushed to eat and ruined the atmosphere. Being a Thai restaurant a lot of food is hand eaten so shocked that there are no wipes in between to help clean fingers and hands, and when asked, was advised to use the restroom. In all honesty, Zaap has better quality food and better atmosphere in comparison. It is unfortunate as there is a lot of hype but definitely would not go again.

As long as I can remember Bombay has been a staple in West Bridgford for years, and it's easy to see why. The food is consistently tasty, with authentic Indian flavors that hit the spot every time. Portions are generous, and the prices are very reasonable, making it great value for money. If you haven't tried it yet, you're missing out on one of the area's true gems.

You are treated like royalty from the minute you walk in this restaurant from the front desk to all the waitress’s waiters owner Sonia and the chefs. Four of us go here and every time we ask Sonia what she would recommend of the menu and every meal is exceptional we wouldn’t go anywhere else . Thank you for a great evening as always 🤗. Two pluses and two negatives. Unfortunately the two negatives drive the three star rating. The food was great and would consider eating there again. Very rarely these days you find such good food. So... 1. Lovely clean and inviting interior. 2. Great food and good service. 3. Very expensive drinks prices - £7+ for a pint of Cobra. £9 for a 300ml bottle of other beer. £10 for a lge glass of wine. 4. Service charge automatically added to the bill - thereby putting customers in an awkward situation and a guilt trip if they don't want to pay a service charge on an already £200 bill. This sends the message that the staff aren't paid enough and customers are expected to pay their wages. Why would you want to put customers - who you hope will be returning customers - in a difficult situation? Unfortunately the evening left a slightly bad taste in the mouth after a feeling of being overcharged for drinks and then being expected to pay a service charge.

Superb evening at the Giggling Squid. Beth was great, she made us feel so welcome and she had the perfect mix of conversation and service. An absolute pleasure to eat here and we will be requesting Beth to look after our table. The after dinner treat was great ! F&M thought it was great and so very funny !! See you all soon !!

After previous positive experience went there again to celebrate my birthday - unfortunately, despite booking a table inside we were given an outside table (in the extra glass conservatory bit). I was absolutely gutted, I would’ve thought reservations should be a priority. Unfortunately the vibe in the outside bit was completely different to last time and we didn’t enjoy it as much. Not sure if I’m gonna come back after this experience, just feeling very disappointed. The service was lovely despite long waiting times, and we were offered complimentary prawn crackers (we waited around an hour for the food).

Well, I am not familiar with Nottingham as a whole and wanted to try something different as myself and my colleagues usually stay in Grantham through the week and therefore eat out in Grantham, so this was a pleasant change. We arrived and was greeted by a lovely lady (I assume the owner's wife). We sat at a lovely table and she made us feel very welcome throughout the whole meal. The food was so tasty and my friends and boss thought the same. We were very impressed and we will definitely be returning again. The staff were so friendly as well :) VERY IMPRESSED :)

I had a fantastic dining experience at Giggling Squid. The portion sizes were generous, and the food was exceptional. The service was also impressively fast, which added to the overall enjoyment of the meal. My only critique would be the seafood platter starter. While the squid was well-cooked, the curry sauce was a bit too overpowering and didn’t quite complement the dish as well as I had hoped. For the main course, we all opted for different curries, and they were absolutely delightful. Every element, from the perfectly cooked rice to the rich and flavorful spices, was spot on. The meat was tender and full of flavor, making each bite a true pleasure. We ended our meal with a tres leche, which was the perfect sweet finish. Every bite was a delight, rounding off what was truly a wonderful dining experience. I highly recommend Giggling Squid for anyone looking for delicious food and great service.

Another super meal at Bombay Bridgford. An interesting menu with a different range of dishes so the explanations printed on the menu are very useful, great if you are looking for a change from the usual range of choices. Everything was beautifully cooked and served. Not the cheapest Indian restaurant around but suitably priced and definitely good value. Looking forward already to my next visit.

The greeting and taking of our initial order was fine but after we had eaten our main meal we were not offered any desserts, coffee or additional drinks. This was disappointing as we would have had something further but as it was we just got the bill and left. Even more annoying is that service was already added to the bill! Most unimpressed.

Overall experience was ok. Service was really slow and quite a few times I have to ask for things and double check on our order multiple times which is not ideal specially for my first time. The waitress that served me didn’t even realise we didn’t have any food menu on the table despite being sat down for almost half an hour that we were browsing the menu online instead. The food overall was mediocre and was served at room temperature when we received it. Although, I guess we just came in at a wrong time or day and don’t think that our experience is not the same for everyone else. I surely would like to try the restaurant again and hopefully accept this little criticism as an opportunity to improve their service at the restaurant. Thank you for having us.

We came here for my graduation dinner - everything was so tasty and cooked perfectly, the service was also speedy and efficient. We had starters, mains and desserts and we had wine and cocktails too! Our server Sam was incredibly attentive and he had a charming personality - making us feel very welcome. Such a beautiful place too - the decor was amazing and very elegant. Thank you!

Had nice experience at Giggling Squid. Nice atmosphere in modern airy restaurant with friendly staff. Enjoyed a variety of starter and main course dishes. Food and drinks all well cooked and tasty. Particularly liked their noodles and pad Thai. Paid and free car parking available in vicinity too. Will be coming back again!

Sticky rice served in cling film but too globulous to even get out. Prawn and soft shell crab curry had no prawns and we were charged for NZ Sav Blanc when we deliberately ordered Chilean as it was £7 cheaper. Not impressed.

Great food, service and atmosphere. I would happily go again, I would also like to try some of their other food as the beef was amazing, this place is a little more costly than other but well worth the price difference. I would happily recommend for a visit.

What a mess I have always loved giggling squid but my last visit was nothing short of a nightmare. From arriving at 07:00 and leaving at 09:45 we were just served our drinks and starters. We had to constantly chase update. The staff at no pint gave any info on delays. I am very confident that they forgot our order as they were very quick to cancel the order.

Great Thai food accompanied with amazing cocktails with a Thai twist! From starters to mains and dessert, the Giggling Squid never disappoints. Also the staff is super friendly and the service is quick. Thank you to our waiter Sam!

Very very decent food but prices are a bit much. We ordered on Deliveroo and it was still a bit pricey! But everything really was delicious. Sticky chicken was good but the big boy was the pork belly - so good.

A superb meal out at the Giggling Squid last night. We had a mix of starters: papaya salad, chilli squid bits and pork skewers were all perfect. Followed by Green Thai prawn curry, duck and chicken pad Thai. Again all delicious. Thai wine was cold and tasty. Service was excellent, thank you to Sam and his team. Atmosphere was lovely, even for a Monday night. A very positive dining experience thank you!

Myself and my partner dined here for lunch early this afternoon. First visit and we thoroughly enjoyed everything, drinks selection is lovely. Plenty of different spirits, cocktails and beer, food was great we both had zero complaints. Atmosphere is lovely as are the people. Thank you.

First visit to the West Bridgford restaurant. Great food as always and consistent with others in the chain. Service was excellent with friendly staff. Despite being very busy, food came at a good pace with enough time between courses to enjoy and relax but not too long. Would recommend

Extremely disappointed!! Got a delivery with Deliveroo this evening. Had a few missing items! Also the Chicken Pad Thai was missing the peanuts! Food wasn't as good as usual and some were cold! Shame this place has gone down hill!! We have been regular customers here for over 3 years!!! Probably won't order takeaway from here again!!

Amazing experience here, the food was incredible and was full of flavour. Generous portions and beautifully presented. Our waiter Sam was so lovely and gave us recommendations. The cocktails were perfectly mixed, I definitely recommend eating here, there’s plenty of choice and a great atmosphere.

There really is nothing the team could have done to make this experience better! Customer service is clearly prioritised at Giggling Squid and it makes the great food even better.

Lovely restaurant but the food was a let down. Tried the Tom yum fried rice and requested it for to be extra spicy, all I could taste was the Fish sauce in it. Major disappointment! The spring rolls were average and the Chicken basket was nothing to write back home about. The Mango mock tail was lovely though. Will have to find a new Thai place in Notts :(

Had a nice meal here a few weeks ago. Found out that the squid is giggling because the waiter has chlamydia. Takes all sorts.

Nice place, nice atmosphere. Visited on a Wedensday evening. Sticky chicken wasn't the best - it might have been re-reheated. Bottled cider and prawn crackers were really nice.

I think it was a delivery issue, but still incredibly disappointing that near half of the menu was unavailable. The circular tables whilst set up for 4, are not suitable for 4, especially when mains and sides have to be ordered separately. We struggled to fit everything in. Some of the staff members were lovely and accommodating , whereas 2 seemed not wanting to be there; telling us to be patient when politely asking for an update on where our drinks were after 25 minutes, and then snapping a meal name and then sighing when I asked if she could repeat it, followed by near dropping the plates in front of us. Food is pretty nice, although pricey, especially when sides such as rice, aren't included.

Great place, great vibe and great food.

I was a bit skeptical about going to this place as didn't want to travel all that way from central Nottingham just for a meal out. To be honest it was worth it and an enjoyable experience. Food was good with a good spicy kick to it. Came to about £35 a head with drinks so these days not bad. The only thing was I would have liked more rice and the sticky rice comes in quite small portions. We had the vegetarian options and there was plenty of choice.

Review 9th March 2024 "Giggling Squid" Nottingham We have been several times to Giggling Squid. But it was our first time to Nottingham Giggling Squid. It's a fabulous Thai restaurant. The food was excellent, as always. I had a very tasty Thai seafood dish, and my wife and friend enjoyed the dishes they chose. The presentation was very impressive. The staff gave us friendly, efficient and fantastic service. Overall, it was a wonderful visit to the Nottingham Giggling Squid Thai restaurant. It has a fabulous atmosphere and we hope to return again when visiting our friend. By the way, the loos were in excellent condition. Thank you so much, Beth and Cleo, and manager Sunny for your friendly service.

Group of 4. Food was okay, I mean I used to have better Thai at other places, the Siam one before it closed down was lovely, among others. All too expensive in my book. 4 people ate fairly normally and was like £180 or something. Service average. It’s got a good rep but so over-rated in my opinion. I think just because it’s in West Bridgford. The place itself is nice enough. I won’t go back here anytime soon. I’d rather eat at one of the ones in town.

Delicious and authentic Thai flavours. We tried the spicy prawn starter and the crispy soft shell crab curry with jasmine rice and papaya salad to go with it. Highly recommended and definitely going to visit again. Note: Spice levels are authentic too and the servers and manager will inform you of it. So be careful about the levels of heat when you choose it.

You have to try the Thai green curry,hot and spicy with lots of flavour! Gorgeous,plenty of chicken tho my friend had beef.

We went as a group of 8, food was lovely can’t complain about that abit pricey for some things though. We got there for 7, ordered food at half 7, we didnt get our starters until 8:15 and our mains didnt come out until 8:30, the waiters was not very attentive on this night.

This is a beautiful place to eat and socialise. The food was delicious, with plenty of choices on the menu. We had virgin cocktails due to driving, which we can highly recommend. The service from start to finish was impeccable. We only have Sam's name who was attentive but not over powering but the restoration the staff were lovely too. We highly recommend a visit and will be going back!

Wow.. what can I say about this place. This was the place we went to after we arrived at Nottingham. My husband loves Thai food.. and he said its one of the best he has had. And the portions for the curry were massive.. and kids portions were good as well.. the melon cocktail was amazinggggggg.. thank you for the lovely time. And what a friendly service. Will definitely be returning when we are here next.

Recently visited Giggling Squid - West Bridgeford for our 10th wedding anniversary and had a lovely meal. I have quite a few allergies and was able to see which dishes I would be able to eat by scanning a QR code which was a relief because most places have a massive folder which is complicated to read. Super friendly staff and lush food. Would definitely return.

Have been many times now. Nice looking restaurant central in W bridgford. Service usually good, can be a little haphazard, recently we had to ask 3 times before prawn crackers came out, water never turned up etc. My main issue is that when you order a dish that says prawns , lamb or chicken, you expect a reasonable portion. Today my chicken curry had a couple of strands of chicken (maybe 1/10th of a breast ?) and a mountain of vegetables, i had a prawn curry that had an additional charge it came with 4 prawns, the masserman curry again had lots of potato and a 2-3 small pieces of lamb. I can only deduce that it is a regular occurrence and it is about driving up profits on dishes rather than delivering quality, value for money meals. I went one evening thinking this was just a lunchtime thing as they do lunch specials, but after paying a lot more for the dishes , I experienced exactly the same stingy portions.

Nicholas our server this evening was absolutely brilliant and made our evening, we had a fantastic time the food was great.

I had the red duck curry. The atmosphere was very nice and had a family friendly vibe. I did not make a reservation just went on a spur of the moment, they were able to seat me immediately but I had to track down a waiter to put in my order because I think they forgot about me. The food was flavorful and to my liking so was the mocktail I had and the portions were worth the price. I just wish the waiter would have checked in from time to time the way they were checking in on the other table by me, as I had questions and wanted to add stuff to my order. Don't forget to try the Sencha TEA!

3rd time visiting giggling squid. Food is always on key and never had an issue. Service is great and quick. Parking is paid via an app in a public car park across the road. Recommended place to eat if you like Thai food

This place is seriously overpriced for what it is. Been to a few in the chain and the same experience everytime. Food is mediocre at best compared to the dishes that try to imitate, there are better "Zappy" places in Nottingham that are better, more authentic and cheaper than here. Also, there is an oriental girl working in this branch, she seems to be here whenever we have come and her service mannerisms are extremely sarcastic, I think she thinks she is trying to be courtious but the reality is she is belittling the guests. Also, they sat us in the corner and we had to beg for service. In this price bracket, not acceptable. Then to top it off, they mention the service charge and use the britishness of people so they don't challenge it...

Excellent food delicious when it came but it was so long coming we drank too much. Service was lovely and apologetic and took 15 percent off the bill

A wonderful addition to the Thai restaurant scene in Nottingham. Went here for a birthday meal out and had a great time. The staff (Nicole was our waitress) were attentive, friendly and gave us recommendations on dishes which we ordered and thoroughly enjoyed. The food came out in good time, was piping hot, tasted great with good spice levels. Thoroughly enjoyed out meal and will definitely be paying a further visit. The bill was very reasonable too for what we ordered.

Excellent Thai food served in a pleasant atmosphere by friendly, helpful staff. The squid starter is the best squid I have eaten anywhere and is a MUST. Reasonably priced.
