The William Morris in Hammersmith and Fulham

I had an unfortunate experience at Wetherspoon Hammersmith William Morris. My fiancée and I visited before 9pm, planning to have dinner and a Pepsi Max, only to be turned away because I didn’t have my ID. There wasn’t a clear notice that ID was required before 9pm. While trying to understand this, I observed very young children leaving with an adult, which made me question the consistency of their entry policy. When I pointed this out, a security staff member sarcastically commented that I wasn’t her dad — a response that was not only rude but also absurd, considering adult supervision isn’t necessary before 9pm. We were even advised to try another Wetherspoon because it “didn’t have security on their doors”. This experience left us both disappointed by the unnecessary rudeness and the inconsistent policy application at such a reputed establishment.

Nice pub, clean , it does not smell like some other pubs

I have been here many times, the William Morris is a very busy public house that offers great value for money, a friendly atmosphere, and I will continue to frequent it.

Probably the best Wetherspoons in the country! I travel alot and frequent many a Spoon's across our fine land, but this one ticks so many boxes. Great atmosphere, traditional Spoons pub grub, affordable drinks and huge selection. Simple order process and speedy service even when busy. Handy location right next to Hammersmith tube station and a huge variety of hotels and the Hammersmith Apollo over the road. Oh, and I met my wife here.

Located in the Hammersmith area, where London's pub culture was born, this place offers a wide variety of liquors, citrons and clearly being the specialty of a pub, its wide variety of exquisite beers, all this makes it a place for talk comfortably enjoying the taste of the best. Additionally, the gastronomic offer allows, in an excellent cost/benefit ratio, to enjoy dishes such as fish n chips, BBQ wings or exquisite hamburgers among other multiple options to enjoy at any time of the day. I would add a little music to make the place a perfect environment.

It was open after 11pm, that's the only reason to endure sticky carpets and unstable clientele

Nice pub close to Hammersmith tube station. We visited at around 6pm and it was really busy, but we managed to find one of the last tables. Ordered via the app. Drinks arrived quickly and service was great. Staff were friendly and professional. Food arrived in good time, impressive given how busy it was. I ordered a halloumi burger with chips. The burger was nice but the chips were only lukewarm. An item was missing from another food order in my group. Pub had a nice atmosphere and I’d probably return if I’m in the area. Reasonable prices, but a bit disappointed by the food on this occasion.

Have created many memories in this fine establishment. Good atmosphere no matter the day of the week. Rarely an issue with ordering via the app or the bar. Great staff too 😀

Placed order for food and drinks via website for 4 people. Very quick service, the drinks arrived after a few minutes, and the food not long after that-even though the pub was very busy and we had sat at the last available table. Overall, the food was good, albeit coleslaw was missing from one meal, the chips were only warm on one meal but hot on the others, and my fish was ok but looked like it had been slightly overcooked. Value for money-wise, Wetherspoons is very good. £36.97 for 4 meals and 3 soft drinks end 1 beer.

Too dark and dingy with some quite unsavoury characters. I've had several issues with some of the drinkers in this place. However the staff in this place are lovely, some very pretty bar staff who always seem friendly and they all pull their weight. If only the staff here worked at the Plough and Harrow up the road instead.

I was actually blown away by the service today, everything was ordered from the table then brought to us, the prices where incredibly cheap, all the staff had masks on, and was not a single issue with anything, I will definitely be visiting agian.

Beer good; prices great; staff are amazingly good natured and polite. Seating style is still rubbish but staff, service and prices are great. Burgers changed to 3oz patties in what must have been a moment of madness. Really reduced the quality. Not overly enjoyable anymore. Too bad. Still need to get the larger burgers back.

Fairly quiet at breakfast time. Attractive interior, quite large. No breakfast muffins available! Similar breakfast wrap without included drink worked out a couple of pounds dearer. One coffee machine was missing most of the drinks. Staff ok.

Easy place to eat from tube or bus station.Bit hit and miss with food ,waited 40mins to get a breakfast to get a plate of cold food, they did change it for something a bit warmer.Like most pubs has it's good and bad days .Good pub atmosphere and staff were friendly enough.

Large inside , always seems to be busy whatever day you go ,but always manage to get a seat , and seating outside if warm enough , good choice of Ale's .

My friend and I visited ‘The William Morris’ Wetherspoons on 1st March before a concert. When we arrived, we had several alcoholic drinks and a few shots. Around an hour and a half after we got our first drinks, a young male waiter came and asked to see our ID’s. When I handed him my UK Driving License, he bent it several times and tried to scratch the holographic security sticker off the front. He then told us that he ‘needed to check it as it looked like there was something wrong with it.’ From what we saw he took it behind the bar, and then downstairs to his manager. When he and his manager, a blonde woman called Leanne, came back, my ID had been broken in half, with a large crack at the top and the security sticker had large gouges through it which has caused it to peel off. She repeatedly accused me, very rudely, of having a fake ID and told us to leave. Her only reasoning was that ‘if it was real, it wouldn’t have snapped.’ My ID was in-fact real, and therefore I questioned them as to why they had broken it. She was incredibly rude and dismissive, and the lovely security guard came over to talk to us. I explained the situation to him and he took my ID behind the bar, scanned it, and confirmed that it was indeed real. By this point my ID had already been snapped in half! I asked to speak to the manager again, as it was absolutely ridiculous that my ID, which will now cost me around £80 to replace, had been snapped when after a simple check they were able to validate that it was real. When she came to talk to us, she was passively scrolling through apps on her mobile phone rather than actually engaging with me. Not only has she caused illegal damage to my property, destroyed my Proof of ID government document, she was also very rude and completely unapologetic. I was also aware that I had to enter a concert shortly after, which they could require ID for - after having travelled from Brighton it was incredibly frustrating to then have the one form of ID on my person broken and potentially not be able to enter an event I'd already paid for. I would also like to point out that we had been served and drank 3 or 4 drinks before they asked to see our ID and deemed mine as ‘fake.’ If it had been fake, they would also have been breaking the law by serving alcohol to a minor. Luckily I am 22 years old and it is perfectly legal for me to drink! Leanne, the manager, is utterly incompetent & hugely let your business down. Your security guards, who I will credit, showed far more customer service and kindness than she did. I have raised a police report and will be escalating to head office.

Breakfast was OK. The entertainment was the locals visiting. One made themselves comfortable on the floor downstairs & had a snooze

Great prices and food - super unfriendly staff, pity! - no real atmosphere

Not the place for a fancy evening, I don't think the food is very good either. But it's really perfect for a cheap evening with your friends. There is plenty of space, so you don't have to disturb anyone. You order at the bar, but it is fast and friendly. Besides being fantastically cheap, it is also worth ordering a cocktail. Too bad there is no such concept in our country!

You order a take away. You receive the plated food to eat in the restaurant! I asked them to out it in a take away box and they just throw it I the box without care! When I arrived at home there was not beans on the jacket patata and also the cheese was not melted but just cold on the top from the fridge! I am a regular costumer and when I complained because after paying the food that went to the bin, I feel it's not the best ! Rhe manager knows I have explainer the situation and nothing happens! They asked foe a receipt but I don't have one as they never provided me with one! The manager said he couldn't refund me and as I have bought the meal 2 days ago! Terrible experience and if you have a problem don't expect a refund! I told them that I didn't even want a refund but to compensate it with another meal and this never happened! What a nightmare of experience !

The joy is fleeting and the pain never-ending

£12 would be a bargain for a mixed grill if the food was edible. Genuinely the worst meal anyone has ever had the temerity to send out of a kitchen. Cold, raw and entirely gristle. It even took them 20 mins to bring my drink, which was from a minimal selection as about 20 beers were unavailable. AVOID.

I went with some friends and always really nice ambience, clean, quick service. The food is meh but it's good enough if u're starving and the staff is always amazing. I love the prices and the place. Security staff is always nice And welcoming to us. And we go everytime we can for quick pints or drinks when it's rainy and when not!!

Met some friends there on a Wednesday evening not expecting it to be too busy but it was rammed with no seats available at all due to 2 football matches nearby that evening. Had dinner once they went to watch the matches and we were able to get a table. Excellent evening all round.

Was planning on using.this place each morning during my 4 day stay in London...not a chance. The breakfast we had was so poor. And yes I know people will say its wetherspoons what do.you expect but I expect basic simple things done well wherever I am. We ordered breakfasts...the beans were cold, barely lukewarm at best. My daughters egg was really under done...Lots of white snotty inedible bits. The toast was still pale, hardly toasted and again barely luke warm and the bacon was also under done...I hate floppy white fat and there was lots of it. I approached the bar to pass my comments as no one had asked if the food was OK. The lady I spoke to apologised but her face and body language told me was so uninterested and probably just wanted me to move along. Needless to say I will never return for a breakfast there. Each to their own I guess

'Spoons breakfast. Coffee machine malfunctioning, paper cups, bacon barely warm, toast soft and cold, eggs barely warm, hash browns barely warm. Grubby serviette. Eggs in my wife's Eggs Benedict cold (replacement was warm but not hot). Not recommended. 😐

I can put up with a lot when beer is £2.25 in a London pub. Fortunately, this branch of a well-known chain is perfectly pleasant with polite, efficient staff. No wonder its busy on a Tuesday in February!

Classic spoons good location. No complaints

Open from 8am till midnight or 1am, this is a very busy Wetherspoons right in the centre of Hammersmith. Named after the designer and craftsman who lived nearby from 1878-96. Great interior with lots of history about the pub in pictures on the walls. As always, there are great beer choices and reasonable food at fantastic prices.

Quite a lively place a very big wetherspoons and packed on a Wednesday afternoon. The food was excellent the pints of Guinness were excellent 👌

It is a spacious pub, with a variety of beers and a menu that includes drinks. There are hamburgers, chicken, the typical fish and chips... you order at the counter with your table number and they take it there. At some times it is quite full. They close at midnight.

1st time visit here as had an appointment in Hammersmith.Ordered food and drinks but unfortunately my wife's veggie burger was stone cold and my burger was not very warm either.Due to food taking longer to arrive than we were expecting there was no time to send food back to be replaced due to our appointment so we ate the rest but left the burgers.Will try again if back in Hammersmith and hope food is hotter next time.

Rubbish experience yesterday. So sad as this place used to be ok. We popped in to grab a drink a a bite to eat before going to a gig is Shepherd’s Bush. Our food took ages and looked horrible. Said we were unhappy and staff member got hostile before agreeing to change it. Asked for manager and no one even bothered to come over so couldn’t ask for a refund on the food. Last time I’m going to JDW - ABSOLUTE MESS!! Should have gone to one of the independent places in Shepherds Bush.

Had a long commute into london and was glad to see a wetherspoons right by the station. Thought i’d pop in and get a nice pint and the signature fish and chips which was great. I was served by a lovely woman named eden who by the way had very bright hair, she was very polite and quick with her service despite me getting my table number wrong, couldn’t leave without showing gratitude, £20 worth! Can’t say i will be returning as i live in Birmingham but i hope to see eden again, beautiful 😘x

A very friendly pub, and over the course of the day sees many different people, Breakfast regulars , many shoppers pop in during the day and regulars at night with many people who are going to a show at The Apollo

We visited for dinner and breakfast. Food was good, staff very helpful. It was very busy for dinner and perhaps understandable that the tables weren't cleared promptly.
