They were so lovely in hosting my grandfathers wake for us. We didn't know how many we would have. But we filled one half and had seating and room for everyone. Tea and coffee was flowing and drinks seemed very reasonable. I'm sad our event was for a bad reason but maybe you might have a better one.

Clean, comfortable, large room - this was a double but we've had smaller family rooms sometimes in other B&Bs, large ensuite, good shower. Very welcoming and friendly. Good breakfast, plenty of choice. Excellent value.

I was looking for a place to drink after a football game, tho most pubs around Norwich East Side full, stumbled across the William IV, good selection of drinks, it has 2 pool tables & big rear garden. The walk to it is a bit uphill, so if you struggle with hills, bear this in mind.

The staff that run the inn are very friendly ..the breakfast is also very good. However the decor rooms and value for money leave alot to be desired. We stayed in a room lower than the car park so we heard everyone getting into their cars when the pub kicked out. Small bottles of shower gel never set the tone either..the pub itself is very very much a locals pub..if you like pool and sky sports it's a thumbs up but if you want a sit down meal you'll need to get into Norwich. The Inn is in dire need of a makeover as well. £90 PER room per night is overpriced for what you get. .plus points your a short walk into Norwich and the Madri at the Inn is very good..but not so good to make me want to return.

I stayed here for 6 nights bed and breakfast. The room I had was lovely and clean. Brewing facilities very good. The breakfasts were exceptionally good. The full English breakfast defeated me. I would recommend this place to friends and family.

We stayed here for an evening event in the city. Very reasonably priced, and the included breakfast was amazing! Room was clean and quiet and the hot drink options in room were brilliant. All the taxis knew how to find it too. Would definitely stay here again!

This place is not good value for money.Pretty rough. The fixtures and fittings in the room were very low quality. Our bathroom was grotty. Shower cubicle held together with limescale. Disabled toilet support was covered in rust,as was the shelf above the basin.Dead moth on the floor! Bed basic double with no headboard. Stains on mattress protector and pillows. The pub is a very basic sports pub with dark and tatty decor. It's definitely not 3 star IMO. Staff friendly enough and breakfast OK but not great.

Stayed for one night for a get together with a couple of friends for their wedding anniversary. Lovely cosy room. Very well equipped had everything you could need. Ideal position to walk into Norwich via the river and Norwich Cathedral which is stunning. Lovely friendly staff, so helpful and accommodating. Tasty evening meal. Breakfast was incredible. Plenty of cereals, fruit juice, fruit, cereal bars, and the full English cooked to own requirements. A brilliant stay. Very good value for money. Thank you to all the staff.

Excellent value, good position to the town 10/15 minutes walk, through the beautiful scenery over the river passing the Cathedral. Good 30 minutes walk back up a steep hill, however the second day we did get a taxi back which only cost £6 The Hotel is dated but makes it more cosy, the room very clean and large, staff brilliant and breakfast amazing Book direct with the hotel to get a cheaper rate

Went for Sunday carvery and the service was brilliant, friendly, helpful and quick considering they were busy. Carvery was good, the best we’ve had in three weekends of carvery hunting, was like a home made roast. It’s a pub with a restaurant area and outdoor space including a barbecue you can hire. Little extras like ice cream made on the premises available with all sorts of toppings. It’s not pretending to be anything other than that so don’t expect fine dining and expect to see locals enjoying a pint.

For me the food too pubby - lots of fried stuff and not much else - they do do a curry but I would never have curries unless it was in a proper indian as nobody can do them authentic enough. I though the price for the garlic bread way off the scale!

I stayed here with 4 friends for a birthday weekend in Norwich. We had a room with 5 single beds. It was ideal for us. The room was basic but had everything we needed and was quite spacious. We had lunch on arrival, which was very good and reasonably priced. The staff here are friendly and welcoming. Breakfast is good and included in the price. A taxi into town was around £6-£7. I would deffinately stay here again.

Arrived for wedding reception to find that nothing had been done! Tables not set out, food not set out, wedding guests having to do it themselves. Not sure of the arrangements, but felt really sorry for the bride and groom. Chairs and tables that were dragged out of a cupboard were filthy. Wouldn’t bother with the place again.

Had dinner in the William IV and was rather surprised. It has the look and feel of a local pub from both the inside and out. The restaurant part is really part of the pub that they have put placemats on the tables. But the locals are friendly and I came to eat, not critique the look. Staff to were friendly and helpful. I asked for the chicken and ribs combo which was according to the menu created in house. It showed too, the chicken legs were lovely and the ribs excellently cooked with a very tasty sauce.I joked about pudding when placing the order, but it could have feed two, and I'm not exactly Kate Moss. Really cheap too. Main and a couple of drinks came to around £15.Go for the food and don't worry if it hasn't got the wow factor of the Ritz, home cooked and tasted great.

4 of us were working in Norwich for a week, luckily we found the William IV. We stayed in there contractors dorm, it had 3 single beds and one double, Tea and coffee makings facilities, Iron and ironing board, Safe etc. Our beds were changed every 3 days and we had fresh towels everyday. Breakfast is all you can eat, if you wanted 3 sausages, 4 bacon, scrambled egg, no beans fresh and tinned tomatoes that's what you got freshly cooked for you, while you are waiting for your breakfast you help yourself to cereal, yogurt's, fresh fruit, tea, coffee, juice and toast. If you are not a breakfast person you can have a pack up to eat at work, this consisted of a baguette with a filling of your choice, fresh fruit, chocolate bar, crisps, and a drink of your choice. We arranged with Lorraine our evening meal when we left in the morning and it was ready for us at the time we set in the evening at a very reasonable price. We parked our vans on the pubs large free car park with 24 hour recorded cctv. There is a separate entrance so you can come and go as you like, All this for £100 a night (£25 each) The hard working hosts Ian and Lorraine are great, nothing we asked was to much trouble for them. We have another job to do in Norwich in February and are looking forward to going back. To wrap it all up it is a Contractors Dream!

Went here for a meal with a Groupon voucher. Upon arrival was dubious given the layout of the pub as it seemed more like a drinking than dining place. We ordered our food which arrived promptly. We each had chicken pies which were home-cooked and prepared with plenty of vegatables. Filling was delicious and already felt full from the portions we had. However, the voucher entitled us to a dessert. We had the chocolate and carrot cake respectively and the wedge of cake given was very generous! Overall the place showed no signs of being a 'food chain' and all the food seemed to have been freshly prepared and cooked. The range of choice on the menu was extensive and we agreed the only downfall is the location. However, will definitely be making the journey back (when very hungry!)

No tea cakes again today. And the front door is still broken. Everyone has to enter through the rear door which is propped open. This has been going on for weeks and makes the place draughty. Just been again. Door still broken. Cafe still draughty. Still no teacakes !

Atmospheric pub in Norwich, well located with smiley, friendly car staff. My only gripe is they are cashless so I had to put £2.50 for a tonic water (driving!) on a card, they would have lost any profit in charges, cash should always be an option imo.
