Great food, lovely staff and excellent value for money. There were 11 of us so we pre ordered our food. It all arrived promptly and everyone enjoyed it. The children's meal are really good value too.

Have been here several times on Saturday evenings this year. My weakness is the waffle fries, alongside a Zero Cola.

Three of us had the so called prize winning pies. They were awful. The broccoli was almost impossible to cut. The parsnips were about the same. I think there were a couple of sliced carrots included but hard to tell. The manager came. He gave us complimentary wine which was something. He was a nice man. Shame it was so very bad.

First time eating here and definitely enjoyed it. We planned to have roast pork or turkey, but they didn't have any left (we were there about 2pm). So we had lamb shank, beef rib and burger instead. Everything was nicely done, just wish I had more vegetables with my beef rib. We didn't get table service, had to order at the bar. We had our dog with us, who didn't get water offered (a lot of dog friendly eateries have offered us water before). Really big car park.

A lucky find while visiting our son at his uni. Plenty of space to eat inside and outside. Great selection of regular pub food and generous portions. Good prompt service.

Good interaction with both bar and kitchen staff. Excellent lamb and bagged the last 2 apple crumbles. Not too busy for an early Friday evening. This made time to pass the time with the staff.

Stopped by Oak Tree in Norwich for late-night drinks, and the experience was fantastic. Even though we were just there for a short time, the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Definitely a place I'd recommend for a relaxed evening out!

Friendly welcome, excellent staff, good vibe and nice food. Courtyard / garden is a sun trap and good band setup. Neutral decor, pool table and sports on TV. Very impressed and will return.

This is a great pub to visit with the family. I signed up for the MiXR app and saved a fair bit on money off my total. My 3 children ordered from the kids menu and it was great value for money. The desserts were fantastic. Would highly recommend a visit.

We attended a buffet here at £17.50 a head. I felt so sorry for the hosts who had paid so much money for not a lot and not very nice food. Very disappointed and would not recommend anyone holds an event here.

We had the triple sunday roast, we found it disappointing, mainly because the roast potatoes had clearly been reheated and the carrots where not very tender. For the price we would have liked more meat. We decided to go else where for our sweet.

Surprised I ever rated this so low - updating as it's really a lovely pub with loads of space, great selection of food and drinks, lovely outdoor area, kind staff and plenty of TVs for sports. Very dog-friendly too with dogs having their own menu 😍

As always, service was amazing, food was really good. Food came quickly and the bread that we had with the starter and the main was really fresh and soft and had great flavour

We come most Tuesdays and Sundays for the pub quiz as well as the music bingo every 2nd Saturday. All the staff are friendly and welcoming and it’s a lovely venue, both inside and out. The quizmaster drew is the main reason we attend however as we enjoy his quizzes Tried food in the past too and great meals. Drinks reasonably priced

Nice pub. Food good, staff are lovely. Reasonably priced. We ate here as we have 2 dogs. They were made to feel welcome too. We were instantly asked if we needed water for them, and the jars of dog treats (free) were pointed out. No complaints at all about our first visit, but when we returned a second time, it was a little busier, with a number of children. These were allowed to run about inside the bar with no requests from any of the staff for them to keep this to the garden area. Not nice for us, or anyone else eating. I had to ask them to stop running by us myself. Not only was it annoying for us, but it meant that my dogs were less settled, wanting to get up and play. They have a sign saying well-behaved dogs are welcome, I think this needs amending to include children as well.

We were at a celebration of life party, food was lovely, some of the staff could do with turning their frown upside down,

2nd time, my wife and I have visited here in 12 months - service was ok/good although much better knowledge of gluten/dairy free options would be highly recommended. Also, a letdown was the fact that there was options when ordering at the bar as opposed to what was on the menu at the table and on the app.... very confusing and also on the app when selecting items it didn't give the options to list properly what was in the meal or drinks etc - on some items on the app 🤔 selection was extremely limited to say the least..... Not impressed to say the least - a lot more work needed to bring it up to a 5 star standard....

A good gluten free meal was had that was served by helpful friendly staff.

I came in for a meal last Monday afternoon. I have health issues so there are some things I cannot eat but the Chef took all of that into account and made me an absolutely delicious meal. It was so good. It is a lovely place for a meal or just a cup of coffee. The coffee is very good also and the staff are so friendly and helpful.

Tall thin lanky guy was very friendly, helped us pick our meals and also gave us advice on the local area. Lunch was good and the pub is great.

Me and my family came for a meal today (April 28th) and the food and the range of drinks was very good. My partner ordered a steak cooked medium rare and it was cooked perfectly and my burger was very tasty too. My daughter had a kids meal which is a very good price for what you get. We enjoyed the meal and will be retuning and recommending to others.

Ordered from just eat food never turned up. Pub take zero responsibility for any wrongdoing stating once its in the drivers hands its not there responsibility. Don't bother ordering anything from 59 Ipswich road! Maybe you can take this up with just eat. Reply Funny that considering I didn't scream, or shout. Amazing how quickly its not your issue. Maybe if just eat have enough complaints from business about the delivery drivers they would be held to account. Also funny how you don't list your business numbers on the just eat page either. Happy to take the money just not the responsibility

Meals were reasonably well presented and were tasty. However the service was poor. The restaurant area of the pub was laid out like any other pub of the same sort. As a party of 6 with a pre-booked table, we arrived, read menus and waited for a waiter to take our order, and offer drinks, as we have done in every other pub/restaurant we have used over many years. When no waiter turned up after some 20 minutes we went up to the bar and were told by a rather surly barman that we had to order our meals at the bar, and pay for them BEFORE they were delivered to our table. Further, if we wanted a pre-meal drink, we had to pay for that on the spot, or leave our credit card with the bar staff. Some of us were unwilling to do this, while others did not have a physical card, but use a virtual card on our mobile phone, which we were obviously not going to leave behind the bar. So, after paying for our drinks individually, ordering our meals and paying individually, we all returned to our table carrying our own drinks, and the meals were eventually brought out by a waitress. If we had wanted further drinks we would have to get up during the meal, go to the bar, pay for it and carry it back to the table. This, in the middle of eating a meal, and taking part in 6-way conversations. Post-meal coffees were brought by the waitress but had to be pre-ordered, or a credit card left at the bar. In every other place we eat, we pre-book a table, sit straight down on arrival, a waiter takes our order for the meal and pre-meal drinks, and, later, desserts and coffees, then brings the bill on request. On the rare occasion that there may be a dispute on the bill, or a complaint, we sort it out amicably, as we have a right to do. We then add an appropriate gratuity for the service, and divide the bill up between us, pay and leave. All very easy for both us and the staff. On this occasion, we each had to pay for our own meals separately, with multiple payments, as and when we ordered each element, queueing up each time with other customers doing the same thing. There were naturally no gratuities added, as the service was non-existent, except for the waitress carrying the plates from the kitchen to the table, and clearing the table after. We will not be returning to The Oak Tree.

The front of house staff were great. However, my partner and I ordered a Sunday roast for lunch and it was awful. The pork was dry and two thin slices were not enough to justice the price of £15.50. The crackling was the size of a 50p coin (the small triangle in the picture). The cauliflower cheese was watery and the structure and taste was as if it had been reheated. My partner ordered the triple meat lunch and unfortunately all his cuts of meat were extremely dry and tough. There were too many potatoes - about 4 roast potatoes as well as mashed potato that had no seasoning. The roast potatoes weren’t crispy and were quite pale. It was a real shame. We would expect this quality of lunch at a school cafeteria. The only thing good about the roast was the Yorkshire pudding and the presentation wasn’t that bad.

Nice pub to have a drink in, but their Sunday roast was terrible. Small portion, parsnips were undercooked and my girlfriend's meal was cold. The stuffing was only available as an overpriced side and consisted of 2 very small squares. Would not recommend.

Visited last night for a roast dinner with the family, all really enjoyed the food! Me & my partner had the roast dinners, and it comes with top up roasties and yorkshires which is a nice touch! Nice pub very modern, with board games and sonic the hedgehog game on the telly. Also does a dog menu with roast dinners. Will definitely go again

Absolute little gem, lovely setting, clean tidy homely feeling pub with great food and attentive staff, would highly recommend and if im back in Norwich will definately visit again.

Booked a table for 3 people on mothers day , we all had food from the set menu , the pork roast should of had crackling with it , i had to ask for some ! , I asked for the deluxe sticky toffee pudding with Bailey's but was given the normal one , I queried this and it had gone through on the till as a normal but the waitress brought me a miniature bottle of Baileys at no extra cost , my only other complaint is that the sticky toffee pudding was cold , I was expecting it to be hot 🤷‍♂️ . The decor is lovely as were all the staff , plenty of tables and a good sized car park , wheel chair friendly entrance 👍👍👍

Still the same great food and service .Thanks to a partial return to a reasonably priced lunch menu there is an improved ambiance and much better value.

Food was amazing definitely worth the price and beyond in my opinion, although there was a wait on a main (obviously not everyone that it will happen to) they were so apologetic about it and give us items on the house, 100% go back, we had a hunters chicken and chicken skewers and apple crumble and signature sticky toffee all amazing

Visited for lunch with a friend on 21.2.24. Walked in, pleasantly surprised, nice decor. Welcoming staff. Looked at menu, it was quite pricey but no more so than some other places. However, you have to go to the bar and order, no table service despite the high price tag.!!! We almost walked straight out but it was raining outside so stayed put. Food was good, but the whole experience was ruined because no table service. Then there was a weird arrangement where you leave your card in a box and you have the key! Strange, but I get it. Won’t go back.

Lovely staff and great customer service. food great, cheap and cheerful food, plenty of it. The bottomless hot drinks is a great idea, but the pump action hot water for tea, is not the best idea and makes it more of a chore. But overall, its a great choice for a good value cooked breakfast

The Sunday roast was fabulous, good size but could do with more than one carrot. Was one of the best I've had. Service was very slow which did taint the experience slightly.

I came in with my friends for a roast and a dessert. It was PHENOMENAL!!!!!!!!!!!!! I loved it. The kitchen staff were incredible - amazing food!! And the service at front of house was exceptional. So welcoming :)

Went to the OT for a funeral wake. The food was excellent. Ham and cheese sandwiches on delicious fresh doughy bread, chips, bread and fish goujons and two different gateau for dessert as well as tea and coffee. Very nice. Will come again

Wanted to give it a try for Sunday lunch when my brother was visiting. The beef Sunday lunch was excellent and good value. Definitely will be returning next time I fancy a good Sunday treat.

Came in for dinner with my boy. My lamb shank was lovely and he enjoyed his goujons. Staff were pleasant and accommodating.

Lovely pub/restaurant. Staff were attentive and friendly. Sunday lunch was excellent. If you're a sports fan there are several large TV's. This was our first visit and won't be our last. Recommended if you've not been before.

Excellent service. Warm and a pleasant atmosphere. Very expensive and my wife ordered a house salad that seemed to contain hardly any of the supposed ingredients....but it did include RAW broccoli. That classic salad ingredient. I understand that late afternoon on a sunday the kitchen is probably bare but you cant just pass this off as ok. It's not. My burgher was ok, it had no salad nor anything other than meat and bread. Pretty mean but ok I guess but not for £17.

We all ordered the turkey and ham pie, the pie was nice but the rest was awful. Frozen items used and veg was tasteless hard and chewy, mash was like packet mix. Other than the pie the meal was horrible. Not worth £17!

We ordered a Turkey pie with accompanying vegetables. The food was piping hot and plentiful. However, for the price of £17 we felt that we should have received fresh rather than frozen potatoes and vegetables. Unfortunately I couldn’t cut through the sprouts or a parsnip and the roast potatoes, whilst perfectly tasty, were obviously a frozen brand. The gravy was rather gloopy and we could have done with a little more. The pie itself was very nice and appeared home made. Just a shame it was let down by the accompaniments. The atmosphere was welcoming and we were well attended by the staff.

The first time we had been there for a family lunch - a table of 8. I ordered their '3 meat Sunday lunch' for £17. None of the food was particularly hot and mine was so cold I sent it back asking if it could just be microwaved to save time. They insisted on providing a fresh plate of food so I had to sit there for around 10 minutes while everyone else was eating. Food not particularly good and pretty tasteless. Portions of meat were very mean and broccoli so hard it couldn't even be cut with a knife. Desserts nothing special either - for example rhubarb crumble came in a tiny pot and seemed as though it had been added in advance and just microwaved. Won't go again. Lots of places who do Sunday lunch much better and cheaper!

Beautiful little pub on the outskirts of Norwich, came here on a whim and was massively impressed, we ordered from the set menu so two courses for only £16.50 which is pretty amazing considering current costs, and food was superb. Will definitely be back.

Beautiful quaint little pub just out of the city, absolutely stunning with all of the Christmas decorations up and does a lovely roast dinner which we had yesterday!

Overpriced for Weatherspoons quality. I mean this when I say the roast I had at the oak tree last night was abysmal. Promised unlimited Yorkshire puddings and roast potatoes on the menu, only to be told after I’d paid that this wasn’t available. Wouldn’t have asked for more anyway once I tucked in. Yorkshire puds were good though I’ll give them that. Carrots were the texture of frozen banana, broccoli was wilted and barely visible as there was so little of it. Mash was nice. I ordered the triple meat yet my portion of pork was closer to a boiled bacon medallion than anything fit for a Sunday dinner. Then we come to the pig in blanket. A side that cost the price of a coffee. Sausage was burned to a crisp and they so kindly balanced the blackened, torched piece of bacon on top, crumbling to ash as it fell off the sausage. I was forced to send it back. In return a few coins were pressed into the table next to me in not the kindest of manners. Honestly everyone, go to Unthank arms instead. That roast was banging.

Went for a Christmas meal. Meal was booked back in September. Poor service. Tables waiting for food while others on table eating. Was a good 20 mins wait before food came. Veggies over cooked. Very hard to eat. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. 0/10 30 unhappy customers

Order food, sent back more than once for both meals Then was offered a free desert for the troubles When claiming free desert was told only 1 of us could have free desert Hope you get a decent meal cause you won't get the free desert you are promised!

Pub was packed and despite not booking a table the staff did everything to accommodate us. One of the best roast dinners for the price.

My family and I visited here yesterday for a Sunday afternoon birthday treat for my daughter. The welcome was warm and friendly with prompt service delivering delicious well prepared and cooked food. We had arrived a tad late and didn't sit down quite on time (thus potentially out staying our table time) but this didn't faze the staff / management who professionally and smilingly managed the situation. I for one will return to the Oak Tree as we all had a great time and meal.

We came as a large family group. All was fantastic until we requested a special offer that was listed online. After much wrangling they honoured it. And did offer us complimentary drinks afterwards. Food was delicious. Ample portions. Food all came out together, which was great as they were quite busy. Friendly staff. Shame about the wrangling but Altogether fab! Will definitely visit again.

Lovely little pub, wonderful friendly atmosphere and the staff go the extra mile to make you feel welcome. The quiz nights are brilliant fun and the quiz host is excellent. The music nights are always banging and the resident DJ is ace. The food is awesome, especially the Sunday roasts. All around a great place for a family meal, a few quiet drinks or a great night out, I would definitely recommend 👍👍👍👍👍

in the words of my 10 year old god son.. its a lovely restaurant but the food is rubbish. came with friends for first time as someone said it was nice. sadly what we had was a small overcooked fish and small handful of chips and then a weird teaspoon of peas in a bowl of green water for £16. The fish was rock hard and dry I wished I'd sent it back and had a refund and my friends said theirs were all poor too.. in the current climate you only go out for dinner for a treat so to pay such a high price for food that is so badly presented and tasting is not acceptable. nice pub and staff but sadly our first and last visit. Food also looked nothjng like photos on here or trip advisor which we'd checked first..

Wasn't happy I've been in there 5 time with different people each time come out not happy every body tells me it's great so all I'm going to say is try it yourself never ever going back sorry

Really love this pub. Large but with cozy areas . Lovely big garden . The food we all had was really good, great burgers ,fish and chips. The menu has somethingfor everyone. We have had Sunday lunch here too which was really good . Love the atmosphere and the staff are really kind and friendly . I will be back soon .

Found this place listed as one of the top 11 best places for Sunday lunch in Norwich. booked for Sunday lunch, turned up early but were seated straight away. Table had been cleaned but was very sticky with residue of food. we asked for something to wipe down the table and the waitress said she would be over to do this for us. she arrived and gave it a cursory wipe over. it was still sticky so we used serviettes, these came up very dirty, suggest they give the tables a good clean, not healthy! i ordered the roast loin of pork and my wife the veggie mushroom pie. dinners arrived, my wife's ok but mine was not loin of pork it was a single piece of pork belly! No crackling as advertised. complained to the waitress who initially said that we should have been told when we ordered that the pork loin was off the menu, hence the pork belly. i said that we were not and she asked "so what do you want me to do". I said she should take it away. she did so in a huff. another member of staff (possibly the manager) then appeared saying there had been some mis-communication and the pork loin was on. i asked why i had been told the opposite and she said that was the mis-communication!! when it eventually arrived (as my wife had nearly eaten hers) it had no, pigs in blankets, stuffing or crackling. my wife decided to go ask as by now i was getting annoyed, and the pigs in blankets arrived with the stuffing but no crackling. ate it and left. also just to point out that when you bother to mention on your website that you make real beef gravy, that's what you should serve, not instant. having moved to the area a couple of years back, we have been bowled over by the quality of food in and around Norwich but this has let the side down somewhat. not recommended.

Lovely little pub Served by a young man called Ryan He was incredibly friendly and happy. Made me feel very at ease. I found some of the female staff to be a bit rude Ryan was incredibly helpful Would come again As long as they don't start charging the extra for peak drinks

Enjoyed a lovely meal at the Oak Tree. Great service, really attentive and friendly staff. Loved the burger! Mum had fish and chips and also enjoyed her meal. Nice cocktails and wine selection, good value. Very well decorated, comfortable seating, and really nice beer garden. Will return! 😁
