Ordered lunch special of jacket, for a large drink, then went on for dessert. Food is lovely, was quick, well prepared and tasty Dessert was absolutely delicious. Honeycomb cheesecake. And a cuppa tea All for under £13. Staff were lovely, helpful, chatty and overall a lovely experience

Busy sports bar not a great choice of beer

I went for a medium cooked steak Half was raw. Returned it to be cooked and it came back flattened,still raw inside The order was broiled? certainly not a grilld steak Too awful 😢 Maybe they should stick to Sports and Ales

Ordered a toastie, chicken burger and sharer nachos. Was told there would be a 45 minute wait for food, we decided to wait as we weren't in a rush. The food came and I was given the wrong toastie this was rectified BUT it was more like a sandwich than a toastie hardly toasted at all and contained very little cheese and bacon (please see photo). My fiance told the staff who just shrugged. If we come back to lincoln again we won't be going here

Lovely local beers like The pheasantry breweries Lincoln tank ale, proudly nodding to the City’s contribution to the armourment of the allies with their namesake Lincoln Tank, a game changer at the time!

Visited on a hot summers day, tired and hot after moving our son to new accommodation. Table outside with cold Guinness and good food, soon made the work a better place.

First time here and second time visitor to Lincoln, was lucky to book for the England Spain euro final. All went very well and seemed like a nice pub.

Few drinks and food before seeing Al Murray and a few drinks after. Food was great, although burger was quite small and the one my son wanted wasn’t on the app. Great choice of beer and cider.

It was a bank holiday sunday when we visited so the place was buzzing. Numerous screens with different sports and matches on. Cheap beer. Good menu with well priced dishes. Very good place to go for a few pints and some food.

Visited this pub on Sunday with my family and the experience was second to none. I had gone with my hubby, sister-in-law , brother-in-law and mother-in-law , two of this party were in wheelchairs and as we all entered a really nice member of staff beckoned me over to a table where she swiftly removed a couple of chairs so we could fit the wheelchairs under, she then swiftly came over and told us she would take our food and drinks order which she did with a smile and we waited for it to arrive. The food was outstanding and such good value for money we all really enjoyed our meals and will be back in the near future for second helpings lol , thankyou so much for the great experience and you should be so proud of your staff it makes such a difference to be made to feel so welcome, keep up the good work

We went for lunch today 5 of us 2 wheelchairs. We were greeted at the door and served at the table by a fabulous staff member. She took our orders and bought our drinks over. The food was amazing the best Tai curry l have had and mums fish and chips cooked to perfection. This pub provides excellent value food and exceptional customer service the staff are a credit to you

Morretti was 3 quid a pint advertised and for 2 pints I was charged over 10 quid in stead of six and I'm a mature student. They owe me £4.40

Very loud (music and customers) to the extent that bar staff couldn't hear me. Chicken tikka masala mostly sauce and the smallest poppadom I've ever seen, about the diameter of a crumpet. No wonder Tim Martin's empire goes from strength to strength.

Good food and an even better atmosphere. Nothing I look forward to more than a Saturday morning at the Foster for a pre-football pint and breakfast! Shell always makes us welcome and always has a smile on her face ☺️

Rough as...used to be a nice friendly pub. Drunk people laying about on the floor near the loo which was flooded and couldn't use anyway so left. Staff did not look happy to be working there and can't say I blame them

Absolutely disgusting place, toilets were vile. Staff were rude. I actually cleaned my own table with their spray which was just hanging around because it was so dirty… and food was diabolical Staff were eating full meals AT THE BAR while serving customers the whole visit was just a shambles, would not recommend to anyone ever

Lunch. Never been before,menu looked fine and ordered 2x scampi lunches and drinks. Both well presented and hot,the fries and scampi was lovely, unfortunately the peas on both was bullets,the scampi was cooked lovely delicious. We definitely go back pleasant staff and nice and clean.

Aah, The Cheltenham, it'll always be that name if you're of a certain age and live in Lincoln. Now The William Foster, it's a run of the mill city centre pub serving perfectly acceptable food in a nice atmosphere. It can get very busy so grab a table and enjoy your visit.

Fantastic selection of drinks, well priced aswell. Lovely atmosphere in there and bar staff listen well and are very polite . Definitely recommend and worth a visit !

Asked for a medium to well done steak got some old leather that wasn't even edible, didn't have ingredients for cocktail I wanted didn't last time I went in either.

On Wednesday myself, my 2 sons and my service dog called in here for something to eat for my son's 18th birthday. Whilst we were waiting for our food my son's had a game of pool . A member of staff brought over the condiments to the table and he asked me to take my dog off the furniture because she was sat in the chair which I completely understand but he gave me a filthy look . After the meal I needed to use the disabled toilet. As I was walking towards the toilet the same member of staff was walking towards me. I wanted to ask if I needed a key for the toilet so I said excuse me but instead of acknowledging me he walked straight past me to place the bin down he was carrying then came back to me . I asked about the key and I got another filthy look . When we were leaving the pub I went to the bar to ask where the member of staff was because I wanted to ask what the issue was but I was told he was upstairs with the Boss. I don't expect to go somewhere for a meal and be made to feel uncomfortable

Food was very basic and the portion sizes very poor for the price, I counted about 12 chips on my plate. Also I think the cleaner must have been on holiday because the toilets were awful … I had to wash my hands before I went in and sanitise them after I’d washed them Could be a lovely pub if more time was spent on the food and cleaning

Probably the worst food i’ve ever eaten. I had the cheese and bacon burger and it was cold and mostly inedible. It’s alright if you just want a drink but avoid this place if you want food. Not even worth the 1 star.

We went in on a Sunday evening - it's a large open pub, giving the vibe that it's a sports pub with plenty of large screens showing sport. It was a pretty bland atmosphere, nothing to complain about the beer. It's probably at its best with big sporting events that pack it out.

Food was good . Lady that served us seemed not overly interested. Typical pub/restaurant atmosphere

I went with some friends for a few drinks. They had a well stocked bar, at reasonable prices, and a pool table. Only let down by the terrible gents toilets. I can't comment on the food as we only had drinks.

I don't typically like to leave bad reviews as I understand the impact it can have on a business, but I feel so strongly about this situation that I feel it is necessary. I visited The William Foster in Lincoln and had the most awful experience. The manager in that pub is awful for trying to accommodate simple requests. The organisation within this company is atrocious, and I have still yet to hear back from them regarding my complaint. I had emailed the pub and asked for my complaint to be passed to higher management (since the person I had a bad experience with was the responsible manager at the time) and I had a reply from said person. Granted, he apologised, but the issues on the day were just not dealt with efficiently. In short, I had booked a table for our family (13 people) on a Saturday afternoon. I had messaged prior to ask for a baby high chair as we, of course, had a baby with us. When we arrived, we were told by the manager that we were going to be seated on high stools. I explained that I had requested a high chair for a baby and hence that would not be appropriate. He then said 'well that's where you're sat'. I spoke to him separately after he'd accused us of not communicating that we needed a high chair, and so I proved that I had by showing him evidence. He still didn't accommodate. We ended up sat in the sports area, with a leaking roof, not enough stools (which we did get in the end, just planted in the middle of the floor) and a mother having to stand up to feed her baby on her dad's knee. They couldn't even cook a medium-rare steak right and they were all overdone. Appalling. I will never, ever be returning, nor will I ever recommend to anyone.

Do not eat in this pub, lasagna was disgusting, tasted nothing like it should have done, tables dirty, staff eating at bar while serving customers, never will return

I was served an impeccable pint of Guinness by a lovely cheeky chap, Owen. The facilities are more than adequate, as I enjoyed a few rounds of pool and darts. Would recommend to anyone passing through the area!!

Great place for watching live sport! Has a good selection of beers and the food was tasty and very reasonably priced.

Really poor experience, we booked a table and ended up being told it wasn't available whe we got there. We then had to settle for tables right next to the pool tables. All of which where high tables, so one of the couples who were with us had to nurse their 9 month old baby. The bar staff were lovely which was the only positive. The manager when we complained kept saying there was nothing he could do. Although the food we ordered wasn't overly expensive it was not the best, the meat on the mixed grills steak was over cooked amd the chicken breast tasted like frozen chicken. Really not impressed as the reviews were very good.

What a shame, our second time eating here and definitely the last, misarable staff, sticky tables and the food was awful. Ordered 2 jacket potatoes which were tiny, hardly any fillings which made them extremely dry, had a drink of coke with each which were like having shots Please be aware that although price isn't bad the food is shockingly bad

It's a pretty simple pub, nothing fancy. It does offer darts and pools. For a very casual place to hangout I recommend it.

A great sports bar with loads of TVs. Plenty of seating, food looked good but didn't actually have any. Not a massive choice of real ale and the one I wanted had just gone off, so had a cider. Beer prices very competitive. Generally a good boozer especially if you like your sports.

Went for breakfast, and it was nice. The menu was varied, and the staff were friendly. The meals were good value for money. The disabled toilet was near the bar so easy to get to.

Drinks are cheap,bar staff are ok,but they don't sell Heineken, which is a pain,cos Carling is awful, but the main issue is the music is too loud,you can't hear anything&you can't hear other people, ridiculous
