Shame it's not popular, favourite pub of all time

Popped in while visiting lincoln over the weekend, the decor was OK tables clean (only about six people in there) the drinks were fairly priced. Downside the pint of bitter was probably one of the worst ever poured flat I.e no head when I asked if this was normal the girl behind the bar was uninterested and said 'it's not pouring with a head )! The music was some kine of heavy/thrash metal , which is OK for some but 'read the room' . So a couple of stars is a fair review I think there's lots of potential there, but maybe not on the Saturday we visited.

Went there in a Saturday night at 8pm, had no beer, wine or regular coke.

Great place for a pint the food is great, and it's dog friendly, what could be better .......

Very quiet for a Thursday night literally only 4 people, us and two others some came in later at 9.30. It was a shame because its a great comfortable place to go to. How ever little atmosphere and one girl on her own. However a walk of 30yards across the road and everywhere there was busy and full?

Good pub! Think changed hands ? Still a good friendly pub!

Went in Monday to look at menu and said we'd be back Tuesday. Did not tell us they'd be closed Tuesdays. Was excited to try but now disappointed

Friendly staff and great music!

We happened upon this bar after a meal on the Brayford. It was bright and welcoming and karaoke night apparently. Staff were friendly (and tuneful) and even two of our group had a go.

A nice laid out pub, which we had to ourselves eventhough it was a Friday night! Nice beers, just expensive like all the others...

The Best Pie 🥧 Shop in Lincoln but there is only one set back, the Shop is not that big so you have to get there early or try to book reservations

Friendly service and a cracking long island ice tea (with mint leaves).

Really friendly pub (dog friendly also), nice beers and a good cocktail menu. Oh and free G&T on Friday between 5 and 6.

Food atrocious. Had some sharing plates. Chicken satay skewers bit into them. We're mushy raw & stunk. Told our server. He took them away then informed us we were right. Don't worry we won't charge for them . Totally ruined the meal. Couldn't believe his response. Still had to pay for what we had less the skewers. Needless to say will never be eating there again . Beware

Stopped in for a quick drink whilst it was relatively quiet on a Saturday afternoon, the staff were friendly and welcoming and the pub had a nice cosy feel to it. Great cocktails and the small plates were delicious, would definitely recommend and come back.

Very warm welcome on arrival, table of four visiting for food, good portion sizes and very tasty. Great selection of drinks and all the staff were extremely friendly and attentive! Will definitely return again

Lovely pub, had fabulous food, the steak was amazing, on a Saturday lunchtime. Only had the soft drinks. Really friendly staff. Near the University.

It's hard to give a balanced review of here as we did come here early doors when we were the only ones in here. Stopped for a quick drink and seemed nice enough in here. I'm sure it gets busy at peak times as it looks like a trendy place to come.

What a lovely place. We felt very welcomed, relaxed and warm. We was only popping in for 1 drink but was so lovely we stayed for many more. Excellent for meeting and catching up with friends and family. Excellent ales and very well kept. I would most definitely recommend this place👍🍻

The best cocktail experience ever

Our first visit and loved it. Good beer and even better cocktails (2 4 £10). Friendly, welcoming staff and customers of all ages. Will def visit again when we're back in Lincoln.

Really friendly and attentive staff who were very accommodating and found a table for our group even though it was busy. Cosy atmosphere.

Glad to see this place is back up and running. It's a great place to have a lunch beer at work or for the starting place of the Friday after work onslaught. The only thing is that some beers are close to £6 on draught so I only go for one, two max. The food has always been lovely. Overall an exciting pub with fresh vibes

Gorgeous pub with incredible food, great selection of drinks and the best service. Highly recommend everyone goes to visit them, you won’t be disappointed. Everything to love about this place, close to the high street and historic parts of Lincoln, and very fairly priced for the quality of what you get.

Clean, friendly bar in centre of Lincoln. Has outside tables in courtyard - adjacent to car park though. Although in the city centre, it is quite quiet out the back and away from any hustle and bustle. Good range of chilled beers, cider and friendly efficient service - order direct from your table. WiFi connection to order/ pay is bit hit & miss though - three goes to get our order processed

Went in today with my sons for farthers day dinner. Staff are great and the food was cooked brilliant, my boys can be a bit fussy but as I said brilliant. Will be nipping in again soon. Good luck for the future and hope to see you soon.

DON’T JUST WALK PAST! The Dandy Lion is tucked out of the way but is SO worth a visit! I am so happy to see The Dandy Lion open and smashing it! Great beer on all of the time (Beavertown, how can you complain?). Always great service and lovely staff. Really organised and easy to get seated - even during COVID! Definitely would recommend.

Nicole. Nicole. Nicole. She was sensational. I cannot praise her service, charisma, charm and all round perfection enough. She, as well as all the rest of the staff, manager also getting a special mention, we’re an absolute delight. They were a breath of fresh air in these difficult times. Cannot praise Dandylion enough for their professionalism, care and awarenes. Highly recommend people go here for the atmosphere and enjoyment. 5 stars isn’t a high enough rating. Did I mention Nicole is an asset to the establishment?

Visited the Dandy lion when we could only sit outside for drinks. The manger/owner was lovely. Made us feel welcome straight away. So well organised and safe. Cannot wait for the inside to open as this will be a regular place to visit and is only going to get better and better.

I visited the Dandy Lion with my husband and brother! Amazing staff and atmosphere! Felt so safe during these times! Lovely outdoor seated area with heaters and covers, making it suitable for all weather! Great choice of drinks! Highly recommended ☺️

As a uni student, I have been to many pubs around Lincoln. On the last night before lockdown v2 we needed a pub and decided to go to the dandy lion. The pub was warm, clean and very well priced for the drinks. The cocktails were head and shoulders above slug and lettuce. I would highly recommend this pub to anyone, uni student or resident of the city of Lincoln.

Unfortunately we left here very disillusioned. We had previously enjoyed the bar however this time it appears they have decided to make up their own rules, and implement them without discretion or fairness. We arrived as two couples, and planned to have another couple join us after an hour. This is COMPLETELY within the government rules, and indeed other tables of six were seated around the place. However despite having already spent around£100 we were told we couldn't do that as it was against their own (nonsense) rules. We even asked for clarification that if we had arrived together as a six we would've been ok to sit together and they said yes! We left and went across the road to a lovely little jazz bar, who were more than happy to have our custom. I suggest you do the same. These are difficult times for the hospitality industry and I'm afraid only the very good will survive. This pub in particular has struggled in the past, with several names and owners in a short period of time, and unfortunately, with a bad attitude like this, particularly from the taller of the two guys who seemed to be running it, I suspect it won't be long before it fails again. You have lost our future custom.

So good to see the Dandy Lion open again. Been back in today and once again didn't disappoint. Super pub, great selection of drinks. A must if you're in Lincoln.

Today we visited, there were 4 friends - 2 households total and we went to move tables so 2 more friends could join us, a total of 6 adults and 3 households. We were told this was not possible even though we had been sat there for over 2 hours and spent around about £100. We were told this was house rules because of problems with other parties, the management have got this wrong to judge every party when they were allowing groups of 6 to sit together because they arrived together BUT could be made up of more households than us! This was disappointing as we had previous visits and really liked the place, however we won’t be visiting again. The bar staff did not handle the situation in a manner that I would deem respectful as we were adhearing to government legislation rather than their made up rules.

Unfortunately, The standards have massively slipped. I posted a really positive review two weeks ago about how this venue were coping with the covid restrictions in a sensible way, but unfortunately this has changed, and I've gone from encouraging friends to go there to suggesting they avoid it. This is a shame as it's a venue that's struggled in the past and could be good, but sadly, misses this opportunity. Apparently they were about to start doing food, but until they sort out the attitude and making up their own rules, they won't be successful. We are two professional couples in our forties, who wanted another couple to join us - so we were well within the current covid rules. However as we didn't all arrive at once we weren't allowed, despite several other tables of six being in. The difference apparently was that we didn't arrive at once. These are not the government rules and when we queried it we were told "they are our rules so tough ". So despite having already spent £100 and with the potential to spend at least the same again, we left, went across the road and spent our money there. To have this level of arrogance and hostility towards customers, with the hospitality industry being in the situation it's in , with a month long lockdown looming, is risky. We won't be back and will be telling others the same. If I have to find a positive,.the guy with the beard was at least polite. The tall one was plain rude.Six lost customers and all their friends I'm afraid, after a good start two weeks ago. We went 50 metres across the road and spent another £200.

This place is absolutely amazing. The pub is comfortable and relaxing, the staff are attentive without being intrusive and the ordering app works flawlessly. The beer is kept perfectly and the cocktails are amazing, i absolutely love it here. If i lived in Lincoln this would be my local. I cannot recommend this enough - if you like a nice relaxing drink, with the chance to have a chat and a laugh with your mates then come here.

The best place to go for drinks! Brilliant atmosphere, friendly service and overall one of my favourite places to go in Lincoln! Definitely recommend for any occasion. Very good with covid restrictions too; safe and clean.
