Superb wholefood store…. a pearl in the high street. High quality products including biodynamic veg; Fresh and tasty. Bread superb! The whole food ethos here is strong, modest and unpretentious. All the best to you.

A great asset to Manningtree. Refreshing to see a store with such a sustainable ethos offering healthy alternative to the junk that big conglomerates are feeding to us! Also offers you the opportunity to take containers to refill your staple foods (oats, museli, pasta etc).

Wonderful health food shop. Friendly & helpful staff. Great selection of dried goods. They Have multiple options for healthy non-rolled oats, including Pinhead Oats (aka Irish Oats, or Steel-Cut Oats) for making delicious porridge. They also have fancy nuts in the bulk bins at the back....The Almonds coated in Cinnamon-Sugar-Maple are devine ! Lots of good yummy stuff in this store.

I have recently moved to the area and adopted a plant based diet last year... All I can say is - what a gem this shop is!!! I have just eaten an Indian Pancake with a pot of Dhal and it was absolutely beautiful. A wonderfully talented lady making such authentic food... 10 times better than the over priced take away Indian restaurants in Manningtree. I can't fault it... Food is well worth the wait. The portion sizes are spot on for what you pay... Unlike Café Rio 👎 I've tried lots of local businesses in Manningtree, Lawford and Mistley, but this one is the best. Their shop of food, gifts, and staples are fab, stuff I can't even get in Tesco or co-op I can always find here ❤️ I love that this shop has survived the pandemic. If your thinking of going to The WholeFood Store, you won't be disappointed. 5*

Just a great place for whole foods. There's a great selection of Biona products along with some fresh produce too. Pricing is really competitive considering they are up against online beasts like Amazon. I'm definitely using them for all my healthy groceries going forward. PS, they also have some really nice chocolates...

This is such a great shop. So glad we have it on our high street. Has a very good range of good quality organic foods, stounground flours, pulses, spices, vegetables, sourdough bread, home made houmus (absolutely delicious), takeaway dhal from Lakshmi and lots more. Such a shame that the Cafe isn't opened currently due to Covid. I loved the home made salads and vegan dishes. I very much hope it will be back once the pandemic is over!

I have been using the shop occasionally for several years, but 2 years ago I started a vegan diet, so now go more regularly. They are friendly, have great products and will order stuff in if requested. They have been great during the Covid-19 lockdown, their prices are very good and it is a pleasure to shop there.

My mum and I were visiting Manningtree on Saturday and decided to try out the coffee shop in the Health Food store. The initial reception was not friendly, in fact we were greeted with a member of staff saying “I’m just doing the menu” as if it was an inconvenience that we had just walked in. We ordered 2 coffees and 2 almond croissants, the staff seemed very disorganised, the iPad they used to order was on charge and they didn’t seem to know who was doing what as in who was taking the orders, who was making the coffee etc. When the drinks/food arrived the coffee was fine but my croissant was cold, when I told the staff they said that the wrong one had been taken from the oven, and did replace it with a hot croissant, but barely apologised. All in all a disappointing and expensive experience and we will not be going back. Especially as there are several better alternatives in Manningtree.

Absolutely love this cafe! The food is always really imaginative and creative, presented well and freshly made on the day. It’s always a chilled place to eat and I like to do my shopping in their lovely health shop. I went again at the weekend and had the tastiest Indian thali. It was so filling! I had coconut rice, daal, Chana masala, cabbage, a chapati AND a popadom, AND a sweet thing! You definitely get your monies worth! There were gorgeous salads too that I can’t wait to try next week. Can’t wait to go back!

Absolutely the best health food store I have been to in this area. Felt the prices were affordable and reasonable and great fun to discover lots of things available that have been searching for such as tapioca flour, vegan jelly, pumpkin and sunflower seeds in sensible size packets. Also spices in packets to refill jars. Excellent shop.

Meh - it's got a pretty basic range which is quite pricey. It's ok if you want commerical health food products like gluten free pasta or nut milks - although you can get these in the supermarket much cheaper these days. Their range of pulses, grains, dried fruits etc is ok but not great and again cheaper in the world food section of local Tesco. They don't stock a lot of alternative products such as detox clays, aluminium free baking soda, colloidal silver or other useful products that people genuinely interested in alternative health supplies might need. Supplements ranges are also limited. They are not particularly friendly either - not rude by any means but service doesn't compensate for their limited selection. Lots of shelf space for expensive 'organic' beauty ranges though and I get the impression their market is really 'health food lite'. Disappointing.

I have only recently started using The Wholefood Store since discovering I am now allergic to wheat and gluten. I have never suffered with this before and so I didn't have a clue where to start - so I took a trip to my local health shop to ask their advice, and they were absolutely wonderful. They were so helpful, they really took the time to talk to me about what I could and could not have to help me get used to it all - and they have a great range of gluten free products to suit my new dietary needs. I couldn't do without them now! Would thoroughly recommend.

The Wholefood Store in Manningtree is a wonderful shop crammed with the specialist products and excellent food stuffs that complement the healthy and ethical ethos of the owners Sarah and Jon. The staff are friendly, helpful and really knowledgeable. You won't get service like this in Tesco! Shopping here is a lovely experience with many customers travelling a long way to get to some of the unique, and well priced, products. Try it, I guarantee you'll come back for more.
