The white swan is without a doubt my favourite pub to visit all year round any day of the week but especially at Christmas. Its cosey vibes and amazing Christmas decor decorated by tash just puts you in the festive mood. I have visited many times and am never left disappointed ( maybe slightly hungover ) the food is delicious and the party vibes always make you feel great and your always guaranteed to leave with sore feet from dancing so much. The bar staff Dan Hayley josh and Mia and Lillie are always happy to serve you a shot with a smile and the team in the kitchen tash Ben and Ella always make sure your roasties are crispy and the meat melts in your mouth ;) I really wouldn’t want to go anywhere to be honest 😊😊

What can I say another delicious Christmas meal at The White Swan Dunstable. You cannot go wrong, they cater for all dietary requirements, allergies, the works. Tasha, Dan and Ella provided 5 * service. The meals were cooked to perfection and there was so much. Dan provided waiter service to our table for our drinks. The Swan looks beautiful with all its decorations and lights. It’s the little touches that make the Swan a great place to eat and drink. Well done Tasha and Team.

Just enjoyed the Christmas menu, table and food was beautifully presented and the staff were really friendly. Fourteen of us all having different starters, main meals, desserts all served efficiently. Pub had lovely Christmas decorations too

Lilly is the absolute moment. She was fantastic from the moment we walked into the swan. She made us feel welcome and as a gay person this was so important. I cannot rave about them enough

Thought today I would try out the Sunday Roast at this locations Great pub friendly staff Had the three meat Sunday roast and it was lovely fresh tasty gammon lamb and chicken with carrots red cabbage and some runner beans roast potatoes stuffing and Yorkshire pudding costing £16. Would definitely go back again

We gave just had an amazing lunch in the White Swan Dunstable Garden. We were welcomed by a lovely young lady with a big smile. We both felt really welcome. I had a chilli and rice. My husband had a chicken burger. Awesome food and lovely music in the background. Would always recommend the White Swan.

Went into pub for family meal and told me they were fully booked then after I left I rang them and they told me they had availability all day please avoid this pub they are very racist people

Visited restaurant and was greeted by an extremely rude doorman. He sat at a table and stated masks were to be worn by everyone within the family party which they were! Whilst he was sat at a small table in the middle of the pub with no mask on and shouting at someone on his phone whilst he is supposed to be working! Whilst everyone behind the bar and around the pub was just sat watching/listening to him. Awful and extremely rude May add the food was great.

We visited the Swan today .... our first meal out after lockdown. We had 3 Beef Roasts ... Awesome food. The crackling we had was unbelievably good. We sat outside and felt safe. Thank you Tash and Chefs at the Swan. You never disappoint us.

Myself and my son have eaten here quite a few times and the food never disappoints. It was my birthday during lockdown and I decided to order our dinner from here it was so fresh and delicious. This is the perfect pub to enjoy a delicious roast dinner whilst watching the football or for a day sat in the pub garden drinking cocktails with the girls. Either way there is always a friendly atmosphere with very friendly staff.

This is the second takeaway I have had from The White Swan Inn this week and I cannot vault the food. The other day I ordered a cheeseburger & chips which was lovely. Today I ordered 2 roast dinners & they to were also delicious. Food is very well priced and there is plenty of it. I will always order my takeaways from here from now on

Our food today cooked by chef hayley was amazing, worth every single penny and tasted unreal, will definitely be re visiting and highly recommend.

First time out in dunstable this year and popped in for a drink, the staff were really friendly and happy. Atmosphere was really nice and the toilets were really clean. A lovely night out. Thank you .

Now this is a class establishment if I've ever seen one. Imagine this, yeah. Four Icelandic lads coming to Dunstable to sit in the hallowed 'Four Chairs of Dunstable'. We'd only heard of Dunstable in tales - and we have to say it stepped up to the plate and absolutely smashed our expectations to the moon and back. We were utterly hungover from a wedding the day before. We were in desperate need of a cot over our heads, food in our mouths and beers in our bellies. We were in shambles. We were like 16th-century sailors stranded in the middle of the North Atlantic, battling scurvy, actually being whipped by our master as the doughboy hadn't scrubbed the deck well enough. And what do we see - The white Swan rose like a mermaid from the depths of the ocean. Could this be real? Is this happening?Yes, it was! The lovely ladies brought out a perfect burger for us. They catered to our every need. Could we turn on the telly to watch a majestic clip of David Villa's best goals in the MLS? Yes, we could. Could we get endless Morretti's on the line? Yes, we could. Could we get them to bring out the ping pong table in their absolutely splendid beer garden so our Icelandic national team player could show off his skills? Yes we could? Could you ring us a taxi, and can it please be top man Sayed? Yes, they most definitely could.Thank you to the moon and back to the White Swan. It was a blast. Hope you enjoyed the whiskey. Upon entry the White Swan has such a friendly vibe. We tried out the new Tapas night (Mondays) and food was delicious. A welcoming change from the usual options in Dunstable.I would 100% recommend going on this night. The prices were very reasonable and the chef is a real credit to the pub. Overall a great, laidback environment with amazing food. I will definitly be returning!

Arranged an after funeral gathering at The White Swan and could not ask for better service, the food was great everyone commented on the lovely spread that was provided. It was well laid out plenty of it also tea and coffee was available as well. Would certainly recommend The White Swan for the great staff, the great food, and the good atmosphere.

We went there for lunch, the fish and chips were huge, the burger had plenty of bacon and cheese and the chips were lovely, and the tortilla bowl with Cajun chicken was very tasty, highly recommend it WELL DONE!!

Six of us called in here on a Friday evening for a few pints prior to an Indian. It's a typical town pub, quite noisy with several tellies showing football, and lots a bare walls for the sound to reverberate around. Decent pints although only two real ales to choose from. Found the chap behind the bar a bit indifferent - I stood there for at least two minutes waiting to be served whilst he chatted to another customer, before a bar lady there pointed me out to him as she was serving someone else. Haven't tried the food, but not sure I'd rush back.

I arrived at the Swan in Dunstable for a Sunday roast and ,all things considered, my main was good however, after a 45 minute wait I spoke to staff regarding my puddings status and they had no idea that I’d ordered it even though it was paid for. I would understand if there were many people eating but, there wasn’t, it was me and 2 other people in the whole pub.

The White Swan have fresh Specials every weekend. My Wife chose a slow cooked chicken curry with a side of curried potatoes. Served with naan bread finished in melted butter and two accompanying additions. First a small finely chopped onion salad. The other a minted yoghurty sauce.

A proper local pub. Sunday roasts, summer BBQs, taster evenings, quizzes, live sport - something for everyone. The staff are always lovely. And the food is bloody lush

Called in with our two kids for a late roast on Sunday after a visit to Whipsnade, and we were bowled over by the fantastic and friendly service as well as by the delicious and great value roast. They could have done nothing better. Would recommend and will definitely be back next time we go to Whipsnade.

We walked through the door and were greeted and treated to great service. As we were an odd sized group we were directed to a pair of tables where we could put tables together.

I've only stayed over night here and not eaten. I can say that the rooms are quite lovely. Period features. Oldie worldie.

I had a selection of starters. They were lovely. My partner had fish and chips. The fish was very over cooked and was mainly batter. The chips were over cooked and you could count them on 2 hands. This pubs food used to be good but they lost a great chef. Need to look again at their quality of food

Planned this reunion well in advance and was lucky to have England knocking out Sweden in the World Cup 18. BBQ was awesome, also so lucky to have music too. Considering the amount of people that were there we were accommodated great. So great to have attentive management and bar staff on a very busy day & night. Excellent time had by all.

Just wanted to say a massive thank you to all of the girls at the white swan who organised and prepared an incredible hot buffet for 15 of us today before going to the pantomime..... several of the children are picky eaters but Tasha and the team were happy for us to suggest items so that there was something for everyone.

Couldn't wait to eat so.....sorry no photo...food arrived well within acceptable time limits...

As a family of five we have just had lunch at The White Swan in Dunstable. The food was amazing. With excellent service. We had 3 Roast dinners and 2 Chicken and Bacon Salads. One of the Roasts was a 4 meat roast and very tasty with a good size portion. Excellent food. The Chicken and Bacon salad the best we have tasted in the area. It was very busy but we didnt wait long and the service was very good. Well done the cooking team at the Swan. If you havnt visited them.... then you should!!!!

Absolutely delicious Roast Chicken dinner. We were asked if we wanted extra gravy and it arrived in a stainless steel gravy boat. Oodles of it. My wife and one daughter had both had Chicken and bacon salads and my wife cannot stop saying how tasty it was. My son had a 4 meats Roast and seemed to struggle getting through his portion. Tash and the bar staff were coping well with a busy service and all in all we enjoyed a very pleasant couple of hours.

Saturday lunch was good - freshly prepared not microwaved fare so made it more enjoyable. Staff were friendly and eager to please. Good value for money most portions were of a decent size.

we checked out this pub for a Sunday Roast in October and were thrilled to bits to find such a fantastic gen on our doorstep. it was definitely the best pub roast i'd had in a long time, with excellent portions, plentiful gravy, well cooked veg and huge Yorkshires! the only down side was that there wasnt more of a wine selection to have with it, I think there was a choice of 2, however it was nice enough wine so all in all it was brilliant, great sized kids portions too and the 4 yr old daugh monstered hers as if she had never been fed! we'll definitely go back!!

First visit 17/10/16, second visit 29/11/16 for lunches.Both times food and service were excellent. Everyone enjoyed their choices. Staff were pleasant and efficient.Looking forward to our next visit!

This is our local pub and we visit regularly. The food is excellent and good value. They are very accommodating in that you can ask for things that are not on the menu say for kiddies meals and it's never been a problem. There is often a variation in the way they serve the food arriving at your table in different serving utensils and containers which adds interest. They source interesting condiments such as chilli sauces and mayonnaise preperations to compliment their freshly prepared and freshly cooked food. The seating could do with an upgrade but overall the decor is bright and up beat.Service is faultless...go through the green front door and enjoy a good time in the open fire warmed public area.

I visited this place on several ocasions - mostly for drinks only. And for that it was great.However, once I decided to have dinner with friend there. Not the best idea. Both spaghetti and fish were tasteless. Edible (as we were hungry), but deffinately not good. But still – I'd recommend it for a drink.

Ordered a fish and chips for mum, a chicken New Yorker for myself and a big plate for hubbie (we also had food from it). Anyway we thought the quality of food was not good as the first time we visited here two years ago. The chicken was tasteless and not tender at all; the fish and the breaded mushrooms were a little bit over fried; and there was merely one piece of garlic bread in a shared plate. I have to say the food was beautifully presented but the tasty was not impressive this time. 鸡肉老而无味；鱼和蘑菇都炸的有点过；在分享大盘装里蒜蓉面包只有一小片。食物呈现是挺美的，然而吃起来比上次到访该店的体验差了一些。

Recently the White Swan Inn has become our local. Great pub, great managers and great staff. Just need my slippers with me! Now the best bit. The food! OMG the food!! It's amazing, always hot, good variety, good prices and most importantly home cooked, none of this microwave on your plate and in front of you in 5 minute jobs! Being vegetarian, Tasha and her team adjust certain dishes to my requirements, something you would not get from certain big restaurant chains. My hubby loves his dinners too, never complains and our plates are always empty and clean when finished! Well done the swan!!

My husband and i have just had an amazing Goat Curry and Rice and Peas at the White Swan Dunstable. Once again we are not disappointed. The atmosphere in the garden was good as there is some nice reggae music in the background. Theres lots on their specials menu today. Thank you to all at the White Swan. Well done. I've been coming to the White swan for food for a few years and never have had a bad meal.Always full up after and at a good price.Can't beat it Always recommend it to friends who are looking for a place to eat

See the swan now started fish & chips every Tuesday served all day! With takeaways also ;) Proper chip shop chips & jumbo battered cod! Mushy peas as well! Very tasty felt like I was by the seaside... Definitely be coming back next Tuesday to try some more.... Great staff & great pub.......... ;)

Passing through Dunstable this pub is always a treat quirky and cool menus are simple with good home cooked food portions are generous but they have takeaway boxes if your not man enough

Had lunch at the White swan today, had the "Hawaiian burger" from the lunch time special menu. I've got to say it has to be the best burger I've tasted! Looked the part aswell!!! Well done white swan...

Entered The White Swan and set for 10 mins while no one approached to us and asked whether we'd like to drink/eat something. We got out of it although this was recommended place by our family members (who are locals). We were visiting relatives in Dunstable and had no clue that we'd suppose to order food/drink at the bar. If only someone from the staff realized we're foreigners (Croatia) and approached us probably this review would be awesome. For me it's a poor customer service... at least someone should have said: "Go to the bar and order!"

What a lovely and friendly place. All staff was very polite and very helpful. The food was very good and the prices was brilliant great portion size. Was very impressed that they took the time to cook to my child's needs. Will defently be returning.

Wonderful visit to this Amazing little pub.They have a tasty selection of real ales and not only that they have craft beer! All fresh and taste like no other bitter.Me and my pal came in for pie night very tasty and all homemade with a choice of two sides for the price of £6.99!!!! Defiantly be coming back for some more pie.May I add we also came out on an evening bank holiday Sunday with a superb act from Clayton Stevens and gang, great atmosphere and the staff were all brilliant! This is my local pub/restaurant. Nice lunch. I had 2 starters. Parmesan wedges are recommended. Son had tikka masala, ate the lot, friends son wolfed down spaghetti bolognese so that must have been good. My friend had scampi, that was good. BUT the main dish of the day was CORNFLAKE TART. That was to die for, thanks Tasha. U always go the extra mile

5 of us visited. We all had a roast dinner on a Sunday afternoon and all loved it. I was particularly impressed that my veggie roast had a brie and broccoli pie with veggie gravy which was yum.Great service and not too expensive, one of the nicest roast dinners I've had for out for a long time.

Thoroughly enjoyed our Xmas party here ! They made our table so festive and the food was absolutely fabulous! 4 course meal and the portions were immense. All freshly cooked and a friend has food intolerances which were catered for so well! All in all a fab night. Drink prices are great too , yummy cocktails and a good disco after ! Perfect night out .

As we was passing through on a Saturday afternoon to visit family we decided to pop into the White Swan as we haven't for a while, well all I can say is that we were amazed as we normally are. The food here is absolutely brilliant and gets better every time. Especially with the Chefs specials. Great customer service from front of house with lovely locals that make you feel warm and welcome. I really do recommend them. Top marks from us! Well done all staff!

Visited here on a Friday afternoon And I must say what lovely food!! The staff were so kind and helpful and really made us feel welcome. My first review I've gave just because they deserve it and because they did ask us to leave one so staff here it is as promised. Prices for the food were really good for the top quality food served...They also do specials which gives you even more of an option.. We had small children who were catered for perfectly.Defiantly be back to the pub.I will be bringing back more guests to enjoy the vibe at the white swan inn.

This pub had great reviews, so we thought we would give it a go. The pub feels very much for the locals and we felt very out of place. We sat down and the benches looked dirty and tired and the table was wobbly. We had to place some menus under the table leg to make it stable. We ordered some food and it was ok, but nowhere near the amazing reviews that some people have left. They tried hard on the presentation, but the food was average and filled a gap at best. The food wasn't expensive, so I suppose you can't expect fantastic results. Also, the ladies toilets were out of order and I had to go outside to a temporary facility. We won't be going back.

Great food, huge servings and great customer service, definitely recommend. Went for lunch and had the Jameson burger with blue cheese coleslaw, nicest meal I have had in a long time. Beautifully served and the tables were layed beautifully too

I'm not just biased because The Swan is my local. The chicken and ham hock pie is literally the best I've ever tasted. I can't recommend Thursday pie night any more highly and we eat here most weeks! Amazing quality of food and fantastic value.

Yesterday we celebrated my partners 40th Birthday at the White Swann. We had a fantastic day, despite the weather.From the initial enquiry the White Swann were very accommodating to our needs and were able to cater to our exact requirements and also provide a bouncy castle to entertain the children during the day which was an absolute godsend.The venue is ideal for a party and has a really warm and friendly atmosphere. The outside area has been recently reconditioned as it perfect for all weathers - the sheltered decking areas certainly came in handy yesterday!The staff are credit to the establishment and were always on hand to cater for all our needs throughout the day.The day went really well thanks to Tasha and the team who worked so hard on the day right through to closing. I held my leaving do at the swan and it was absolutely brilliant.The staff couldn't of been more helpful and accommodating to make sure it was a good day. We had the whole outdoor area to ourselves and we had a bbq and music running all day. It was good for both family and friends. The food there was gorgeous and such a reasonable price. Commonly Known as "The Dirty Duck" the Whiteswan Inn in Dunstable is a rare treat as far as Pubs go in the UK, A small pub with a 'Big Heart' and a central hub of the local community that delivers more than just a pint and a pork pie. The service is good, the beer is great and the food is magnificent but what keeps the pub apart from the rest is the excellent entertainment every weekend.

Went there after we visited the beautiful Dunstable Downs during last Christmas time. The atmosphere was warm and festive. As to the food, we didn't expect too much as we thought it was just a pub- and as you know, pus foods are always similar- similar menu, similar taste(taste like fast food bought from Tesco) and similar price. However we were served with two beautifully displayed plates, and the food- spaghetti and scampi, were good beyond our expectation! No wonder it's got a high ranking around this area. Highly recommend this place especially after you see the scenery downs. Definitely it will make you a perfect day in Dunstable.

Recently refurbished and very comfortable and welcoming, the White Swann is located on the main road coming into Dunstable from the M1, just prior to the Town Centre. Some years ago, family and I went there for a music evening outside by local boy Paul Young, but I hadn't ever eaten there. We non-veggies had the spicy chicken wrap, served with a notably good home made coleslaw and salad, while our Veggie had a very respectable mushroom omelette. Prices were reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. Clientelle varied from young family groups to the "regulars" at the bar. Service was quick; our waitress friendly and helpful. A very enjoyable lunch had by all.

Visited here today with my partner as we fancied a sunday roast that was within walking distance. Checked TA beforehand and saw the reviews of the White Swann Inn. Pleasant place with a real log fire. I had roast beef and all the trimmings for £8.45 and it was great. Proper roasties, fresh veg, home-made yorkie and plenty of beef. My bf had the steak and ale pie which he enjoyed and again it was plentiful and fresh. Staff were friendly too.

visited this pub due to it being number 1 in dunstable on this site....... how disappointed we were.the pub was noisy due to football on the screens, we waited ages for our food despite being the only ones waiting at this time.when our food finally arrived it was presented nicely but was of poor quality (to be fair it was very reasonably priced)....... but even so the fish was frozen stuff you get from supermarkets and very greasy as were the chips, the gammon my wife chose was burnt on the bottom and smothered in thick greasy cheese.goes without saying we will not return......the mind boggles as to how this came to be number 1

just returned from the White Swan in Dunstable, with 4 friends, for the past few years we have go to a big hotel and have our x mass meal.Not this year as we left it to late to book which now I am glad we did as the White swan has far better food with nicer people, better service and prices with a atmosphere that was just right, they also do pie & curry nights which we are now going to try, First class and would recommend 100% thank you merry Christmas

Popped in on a Friday afternoon with a friend for a catch up. Lovely atmosphere (and the decorations were very christmassy n yay for the lovely real fire ) Staff most welcoming & friendly. Food was amazing and more than worthy of the very reasonable price tag. Will definately be back more often. Ty to all the staff :-)

Unpretentious, welcoming little pub in the center of Dunstable. Great fireplace adding to the pleasant atmosphere. Every Thursday night is pie night. The best choice is the choice of three mini pies. A great way of sampling three really tasty pies in an enjoyable environment, served by a team of very friendly staff.

If you are looking for a traditional, cooked from fresh roast dinner then I suggest you get yourself to the Swan. Not a processed roast potato in sight, enough gravy to swim in and nothing, i mean nothing is too much trouble for the staff. I have even emailed ahead on occasions to discuss the needs of our fussiest table guests and they have been so accommodating. During the week they promote specials that are special enough for me to try to eat there every day and during the evenings they run themed nights. Don't take my word for it, find out for yourselves.

Ten of us had an amazing meal at the White Swan. Want to say a big thank to Tasha and the staff. All our meals arrived at the same time and all hot meals. We were all impressed. A wonderful evening. The service was excellent too!!

As Dunstable residents we always feel restricted for eating out locally so mainly visit our favourite Indian or Thai Restaurants. But, always hopeful of something new I read the reviews for the White Swann with interest and excitedly booked a table for 4 "50 somethings" on a Friday night. To say it was not quite what we were expecting was an understatement. I cannot be unkind to the lovely friendly staff who made us welcome and did there very best throughout but it is not a restaurant or even a gastro-pub, just a little high street local with a pool table and a DJ on a Friday night. It was quite noisy and full of atmosphere but not really conducive to a Friday night meal out with friends. The menu is fairly limited but we all found something to tempt us. We waited a while for our starters but that means they are freshly cooked so is not a concern. We all enjoyed our hot tasty, homemade starters although my husband's was not actually as ordered. Main courses followed and again all very well presented and plentiful. My husband started his huge burger and was initially impressed but sadly it did not live up to it's impressive appearance and was over cooked & hard on the outside but under cooked in the middle. Again I have to say the staff were really lovely and could not have been more apologetic or quick to refund, even though we had not actually paid yet. The rest of us enjoyed our Scampi & Cod dinners. Soon after we had finished our meals the DJ started up and the volume started to rise, it was now 9.30pm and we felt the it was time to go somewhere where we could hear each other.A little disappointing for us, but probably great for lunch or a midweek dinner but "not quite what we expected". I cannot not recommend it, as there was nothing actually wrong, just not for us.

When we looked at the menu online, it didn't look anything special. - Burgers, jackets, lasagne, scampi, fish & chips & some veggie options etc. However, it looked good value for money and we were visiting Dunstable anyway, so we thought we'd give it a try.Well, wow! ...... We were greeted by an exceptionally nice man, who let us taste the real ale (which was good - £3.20 a pint) before we bought it, put himself out to welcome us and was really friendly, without being overly so. The room was warm, welcoming and the atmosphere made us feel very comfortable.One of us chose the fish & chips (£6.45) and the other an American burger (£6.45). When the meals arrived, they were both really beautifully presented. The fish and chips was served in a decorative oblong 'chip basket', with salad (which was a 'bistro' style salad with beetroot shreds & mixed leaves with tomato & cucumber & peppers - not just a wimpy normal salad!) in a conical bowl on the side, plus side bowls of homemade coleslaw and lemon mayonnaise. All were served on a slate base, so it all looked very attractively presented. The chunky chips were cooked to perfection - crisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside and piping hot, as was the fish which was deliciously moist on the inside & crisp and grease-free on the outside. The 6oz burger with bacon and cheese was not of cheap quality as we'd expected, but was really beefy,tasty and again cooked to perfection, served with the same good quality salad and delicious chunky chips and coleslaw. Also well presented.The portions were very generous and we struggled to finish, but it was all just so good we couldn't stop eating.Soon before we were due to leave, one of the staff lit a real file to make the place even cosier for the cold evening to come.A thoroughly pleasant and unexpectedly enjoyable meal. I'm sure we shall visit again when we are next in the Dunstable area. Top marks!

Don't normally eat in Dunstable but was over there watching my daughter in a play at the Little Theatre & it's rude not to grab a bite!Good little place on High Strret North. Staff were helpful, friendly & attentive. We were on a Monday night which is there Curry night. Not a huge choice but more than enough for an occasional visit. Now, it's not up with Papa J's or Frontier Lounge but tasty. Fresh cooked. Good deal. I had Beef Madras, pilau rice, onion bahji for a tenner. Poppadoms & dip were thrown in. Nicely kept draught lager on tap.Wil go again next time we're over that part of Dunstable

Yet again another superb christmas meal and great staff have eaten here many times and never been disappointed ...o and I love the Christmas decorations too well done .....

We ended up at this little beauty after being to Whipsnade Zoo during the day. We'd googled places to eat in Dunstable and the White Swann Inn had some great reviews. We were not disappointed! It was 'Pie Night'. The pies were freshly home made upon order, they were delicious and well presented. You get two sides with your pie, the portions were very generous! Came out feel stuffed and satisified!
