Everyone had a thoroughly brilliant time and a number one for me the food was absolutely delicious and left me with no food hangover a sure sign it was fresh, proper ingredients and no additives .. just pure beautiful food, well cooked, great recipes and great service. Went to this restaurant last evening. We didn’t make a reservation but were easily accommodated. The welcome from the staff was warm and friendly. Not having visited this restaurant before we didn’t know quite what to expect. We were not disappointed. The food was fresh, delicious and well presented. The service was faultless. Very enjoyable. We will return.

We popped in without booking the table prior, but thankfully, we got served. After a while, all tables were fully equipped. The reason behind this is nothing but their kind service and authentic taste to the food they serve. Being an indian, we were looking for authentic indian food. We tried white pepper chicken fry, kerala roast chicken as a starters and thalassery chicken biryani, meenporichathu skate pan fried fish, coconut chicken curry and white pepper chicken peralan as mains with kerala parotta. They offer good quantity even though prices looks high but it's totally worth visiting. Staff was also very friendly and informative about their menu. 5 🌟 place, made our day. Thanks.

Very tasty but still mild. Vegetables korma was great, such a comforting and healthy meal after a very long walk on the Jurassic Coast late autumn. Dosa was also great and my boyfriend was very happy with his fish dish. Staff was adorable, very kind 🙏🤍

I had dinner at the White Pepper this week. I didn't really know what to expect, but I guess I assumed it would be an Indian food based restaurant similar to the many other Indian Restaurants I've been to - I'm a big fan of Indian food and very spicy food in general. I was in no way disappointed, but The White Pepper was not at all what I'd expected. In many ways I'd put service ahead of food in terms of what I like when visiting a restaurant and what will make me go back. The service was excellent - the staff were very attentive and engaging, without being overbearing. It's clear they are trying something new in culinary terms - I different twist on Indian cuisine that is not (yet) familiar to the English palate - and they are doing what they can to help with food selection and an understanding of what's being served. All of my questions on what the various options on the menu were were answered and thoughtful suggestions were made to guide my choices. There's non of the standard "Buna, Madras, Vindaloo" options to be see and not a Naan bread to be had, but what is there (at least what I tried) was phenomenal. I marked "Atmosphere" down by a star simply because (like most restaurants now it seems...) the place was not full and I think it should be. It's a new idea, so that may take time, but I'd encourage anyone who enjoys grown up Asian food to give it a go. In the interest of making this a useful review, I do think that this restaurant is likely more for grown ups than I'd usually think of for your standard Indian food restaurant. What I mean by that is that the White Pepper seems to use only the most flavourful cuts of meat (e.g. chicken thighs rather than breast meat) and that has a different taste and texture that may not be to the liking of your kids - there's no "kids menu" that I saw. This is a place for date night or an adult group meal in my opinion and not likely a young family venue. I'll be going there again - lots more on the menu to try.

Wonderful food, authentic, great service

We had such an amazing meal we went back the next day. The staff are friendly and the chef should be very proud of the food. Unfortunately we live too far away to go again. Next time we are in Weymouth we will be back!

My sister and her husband had the coconut chicken dish which they thought was out of this world. Unusually for an Indian restaurant they served beef dishes. I had there speciality Kerala beef dish. It was excellent. The food was presented in a classy fashion which meant fine dining.

everything was lovely as usual but disappointed because the chicken biryani only had 2 pieces of chicken Which is very unusual.

Exquisite & deliciously tasty soul South Indian cuisine. A truly delight of a place for our dinner date. We had the prawns to start, fish curry, and chicken biryani. All divine and delicious. Mariya’s customer service and care was the best, truly excellent recommendations for food & wine. Thank you for making our evening special.

Wow what a fabulous meal we had here. The attention to detail, the food and service were all excellent in every way. We choose our own starters but left the main courses to the waiters recommendations and so glad we did. The food is an Indian fusion on anything that we have ever had before and we would highly recommend you go you will not be disappointed

Excellent appam and curry! Highly recommend the paratha and veg bowl, portions are great. Most dishes are made to order, expect a long time to be served your food.

I had a takeaway and although I thought initially it was quite pricey, my goodness it was worth it. I had the Keralan fish curry, malaba beef biryani and parrotta. The quality is obvious when you taste the food. So fresh, so delicious

Just back from a”ladies that lunch” event. We virtually had the place to ourselves which was fine as we were all busy chatting, but I do recommend it -don’t be put off it it seems empty. Waitress was very friendly and I can only speak for myself but my chicken coconut dish with coconut pancake was delicious. We hadn’t ordered starters but they brought us crackers, chutney and raita to keep us going as she warned us the roast chicken some had ordered would take 40 minutes. As far as I know everyone else was also very happy with their lunch and I will definitely be returning in the future with family

Wonderful Keralan cuisine presented beautifully. The complexity of flavours in sauces to textures of different breads and pancakes (dosas, appam, vada) made this one of the best meals we have had in Dorset.

Very slow service. Took 1 hour just to have drinks. Once the food came it was good but not exceptional.

The food was delicious, but the wait for the starters was over an hour and a half, getting drinks refilled was a bit of a pain, not a horrible experience but the service and speed needs some looking at.

Our first try of the place after a few misses and reading some decent reviews. On arrival, we were told by the waiter that they were two staff down....an auspicious start. However, the staff through the evening were lovely, and the service excellent. Anyway, drinks arrived eventually (strange serving Spanish lagers as the only draught beer though). The ambience was nice and it was pleasant to sit and chat with our friends....which it turned out we had time to do... Food was delayed but in fairness, I've had worse delays, and when you put in an order for biriyani cooked virtually from scratch, it can sometimes be that way. The popadums we had to fill the space were a bit ungenerous in both number and accompaniments (think two very small amounts of chutney between 4). In the end, taste was quite good, but portioning for the meat needed work ('more of it') and even after asking about the usual veg curry to your taste and being told it doesn't come with a sauce and won't need one..... well, in the end, it was just a little bit dry .......could have used a bit of 'wet' from a sauce. I realise they are trying to set a new standard with Keralan cuisine but it didn't quite do it for me. Anyway, so, that experience was 30 per person and I'm reflecting on whether that was value for money over other options nearby and I'd say that it's debatable.

Amazing food, with excellent and friendly service. I am ashamed to say this was our first time, as use to the normal curry houses, but this place has changed all that. This is not a curry house, but an exceptional restaurant from the South Indian region. Food flavourings are perfect, and on our visit we just all shared as the flavours made you want more, and to try everything. Will 💯 % be going back, to try other options. And they also deliver 👍, so can’t wait for our next family treat night. This is a must if you haven’t been

Absolutely fantastic food. The fish curry and beef stew was outstanding. We will not go to the usual Indian restaurant now we have had the taste of Kerela cuisine. Service was great and the people very polite, helpful and knowledgeable. Well done and thank you.

This is a very special place. Slightly tucked away and easy to miss but inside is some seriously good South Indian cooking. Probably the best fish curry I've had, excellent Beef Masala and delicious rice and breads. The service wasn't exactly slick but it added to the charm because all the staff were so incredibly nice and keen to make sure we were having a good time. When we left I immediately wanted to go back and try everything else on the menu. It's fantastic that Weymouth has such a thoughtful and heartfelt restaurant in town.

My daughter and I had the most amazing meal at the white pepper in Weymouth. The food was outstanding, It was all cooked freshly to order. The service was impeccable we really could not fault it in anyway. We are local people and will definitely be using the white pepper again. Would highly recommend a visit if you’re looking for authentic well cooked food. First class without a doubt.

Excellent restaurant . Highly recommend . All food beautifully prepared . Fresh , exciting tastes . Different in so many ways but such creative chefs and staff who take time to source the very best ingredients . Really recommend the Kerala Veg Stew and the Mini Dosas. Fresh skewered prawns just divine ! You have to try the Panna Cotta made with coconut milk . It’s sublime ! The staff are so welcoming and helpful .. Weymouth , you are so very fortunate to have this incredible restaurant ..we will be back for the Sea Bass wrapped in banana leaves ☺️ Thank you again for a truly wonderful meal .

A regular restaurant for us in Weymouth now but first time in the new location. Food as excellent as ever and great value and service. It’s relocated to a site that housed a fish restaurant and they have just taken it over. It’s a significant upgrade on the last premises, but does need to have a warmer (more authentic) ambiance, some colour and soft furnishings, it’s quite bare befitting its previous use and lighting is quite bright. Hopefully they get the trade they need, definitely worth a visit.

Tasty different Indian food, recently moved into old crustation restaurant venue, lovely spacious restaurant, delicious tasty food all freshly cooked hence slight delay in delivery so worth the wait . Polite friendly courteous service from Maria & all of the staff. Easy to book on line. Highly recommend 👌

It's the disgusting food I ate all over the United Kingdom. I asked the waiter how long it takes to make the food and the response from him is annoying. And food is not sufficient for a person with such an expensive menu. I don't recommend it at all.

My wife, daughter and I went there as we had noticed their new location. The meals were very excellent and something different. We will be back as we really enjoyed ourselves. PS if you are thinking this is a traditional curry house then it may not be what you are looking for.

Service was a bit clunky but it was only their second week so forgiven. The food, we’ll forget pre-prepared standard curry, all made from scratch and all 3 meals we ordered were absolute heaven. I recently had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant, and it was an unforgettable experience! We were greeted with warm smile and an inviting atmosphere. The ambiance was perfect - cozy and elegant . We were seated promptly, and our server, Dona was incredibly attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. All the dishes we ordered were perfect balance of flavours and beautifully presented. Overall, food was exceptional, the service was top notch and the atmosphere was delightful. Dining at The White Pepper Weymouth was a truly enjoyable experience. We started with a lovely glass of wine and were thrilled by the White Pepper Prawn Fry, which was perfectly crispy and packed with flavor. The main courses didn’t disappoint either. The White Pepper Chicken Mandi Biryani was wonderfully aromatic and the chicken was tender, while the Thattykada Chicken Fry had just the right amount of spice and a great crunch. What really stood out was the warm and attentive staff. They made us feel right at home and were genuinely caring throughout our meal. In all, The White Pepper Weymouth offers delicious food in a cozy, welcoming environment. We highly recommend it for a special meal.

Do not expect the usual out of a jar so called Indian fare the Brits have had to endure for decades. This restaurant is truly run by Indian staff who are helpful and friendly with a menu that allows the chef to make most dishes from scratch, hence the slightly longer wait times for the food to arrive, which is worth it. The setting is excellent, clean and modern with no flock wallpaper in sight.

Food was delicious but didn’t arrive in allotted delivery time which in itself was hour and twenty minutes after ordering -then given another delivery . The food arrived nearly two hours after ordering

I had wanted to visit for some time, as had heard good things. My wife had cruely gone with friends several times before we got a chance to visit together. We popped in without a reservation on a Saturday night and thankfully could be accomodated. The staff were friendly helpful and attentive. We were advised that as the food was cooked to order it may take a while. The food came out quicker than expected and we were not disappointed. Delicious Indian flavours, seemed far more authentic than other Indian Restaurant I have visited.

No better place to eat in Weymouth if you are looking for south Indian restaurant

This was our first visit, after many recommendations. We were not disappointed! The food was really good, the staff were wonderful, friendly, professional and personable. They certainly aim to please. As others have said, this is not your traditional Indian restaurant, the food is based on traditional Keralan cooking. The food is cooked fresh to order. We were told it would take about 35mins, which was not a problem for us, but it probably was a bit quicker than that. I loved the food, one of the best Indian dishes i have had. The location again is not your usual venue for an Indian but it was fine and the fabulous live music tonight was a bonus. We will definitely return to try some of the other fabulous dishes on the menu.

One of the best meals I’ve had in Weymouth… and I live here. Okay, you need to ignore the surroundings to a degree and concentrate on the food, which is amazing. This isn’t your usual curry house fare, so if you’re after a chicken tikka masala, look elsewhere. This place serves Keralan food, and the menu isn’t huge by traditional Indian restaurant standards. But everything we had was perfect. Hot, tasty and clearly made with love. Great service on the night we made, even though they were busy. We’ll definitely be back.

Worst experience disgusting ,went for lunch around 10.30am a guy on the reception was polite n told me to have a seat n he went n informed the staff the about my presence I was seated for 15mins like a fool n nobody turned up to take the order so unfortunately I have to leave ,worst experience that's the respect the staff have for their customers..disgusting..

The old reviews of tatty environment are now history, all refurbished, but the food remains brilliant, attentive service too, what more to ask for? Don’t expect your standard Indian menu, dishes are from Kerala, and great at that.

Has been waiting for very long for the food. Food tastes good but a little hot. Think about if you can wait more than 40 mins for your food.

Whilst this is still without question the best Indian cuisine locally, this delivery was sadly not up to their usually high standard. The order was 45 minutes late and the vegetable pilau rice had frozen mixed veg tossed in. The remainder of the order was as usual delicious, if not as hot (food warmth not spice) as you would hope. However when paying a premium above other local resaurants, you would expect better.

The worst restaurant experienced in Weymouth and Very bad service. The staffs were not even polite, especially one of the male staff . I feel so embarrassed. I won't recommend to anyone.

The food is freshly cooked and well presented. The waitress explained every dish and gave recommendations. If you can overcome the canteen like surroundings the food is well worth it!

Do not be put off the location of this place ( in the back of the Fairhaven hotel as they are very cleverly sharing space with the hotel) the staff are really lovely and attentive and the food is absolutely delicious. I had the chicken peralan and a friend had the vegetable biriyani which I had the rest of today. Freshly prepared food and really, really tasty. I would definately come back again or order takeaway.

Fabulous food. Appearance is a bit down at heel but that's not the focus - delicious Southern Indian cuisine. Dosas are great. Veg biryani was divine paired with the fish in banana leaf. Very sweet waiting staff. We're local so it's our weekend treat - been about 5 times now since we made the discovery last September and introduced our friends, who have done the same their own friends and family. Love that even if restaurant is full, if there is space in the bar you can order there.

Great food and service a taste of of gods own country

My mother and I enjoyed lunch at this restaurant. The restaurant is set in the back room of a hotel and has a very retro feel which I found charming. The food was good. We received complimentary poppadoms. We were warned that the biryani would take 30 minutes so ordered a starter to share. The only slight disappointment was the mango lassi which was incredibly thick so difficult to drink through a straw. However the hostess/manageress was very friendly and welcoming as was the other male member of staff.

The food they served is very fresh and tasty. Ambiance is okay & a nice pleasant place to sit and enjoy the food. The only disappointment thing is the staff i don’t know whether the person who served me is manager or waitresses he was rude to us. We ordered the food and after 10 min we asked like “how long it’s gonna take”, he replied “we don’t have chocolate to serve immediately, you have to wait till it’s get ready” which is not acceptable totally the way he respond to the. Serving freshly made food is a good thing but you need to give polite and proper explanation y it’s take long to serve. Except that guy(The one who was with glasses took my order) everything is fine.

I called to chase up the order before they realised I’d placed an order. This was rectified but if I’d left it we would have not received the food. The food was quite pricey but as a first order thought would give it a chance. For the price it was not great value. The poppadoms were crushed and basically not able to be eaten like they should. The food itself did not match the pricing on quality. Literally the chicken coconut curry was pieces of chicken floating in sauce. Disappointed.

This is my first visit to the restaurant. I visited based on review. Ambience is poor. Food taste is really good but is it worth for money and quantity of food. I disagree. If food is excellent and if your charging high make sure people go out with full stomach. Quantity is average. Staff are really good and food wait time is too long but that’s fine to wait for tasty food.

It was a great Indian takeaway. Authentic kerala food. We all loved the biryani and Sambar was really yummy. However, we found the food v oily, if that can be reduced i would hv given it 10/5 stars.

Came here just before closing after calling to check we were okay to come, service was super speedy, the wait staff were so friendly and welcoming and when the food came - 2 chicken thigh (boneless) masalas, rice, a special sort of bread and poppadoms - it was fresh and full of flavour. Was pleasantly surprised and will be returning!

Different, really tasty 100 have again

Visited them in their new premises. Menu has expanded. Still the same exquisite flavours. Word of mouth reviews led us to The White Pepper. It didn't disappoint. It does not have the overlong menu of traditional curry houses but what they do is specialise. And every meal is exquisite. You will not be disappointed. Whoever is the chef is at the very top of their profession at the moment. We had the fried prawn starter, beef biryani and sea bass. All cooked to perfection.

Really lovely flavors but some of the order was cold which was disappointing. Also order the prawns starter but only had x2 prawns for £7!!

The personnel was clear about it: if you allow us the time, we'll prepare some really good Kerala food, all from scratch. The food was amazing. The high standard was noticeable from the little chutneys all the way to the desert. Staff was exceedingly friendly. The room could use a makeover but there are plans for that. A delight of a restaurant run by really nice people!

The food was stunning. We had mini dosas, white pepper chicken, Malabar beef, veg biryani, parottas, chapattis and appams. Everything was DELICIOUS. I want to go back and order everything again. The decor is basic, the people who work there are very friendly. Highly recommend

Just WOW! Fresh food cooked and prepared from starter to desert. Spicing and sauce was original and specific to the fresh produce available on the day. Who knew that Ray Wing could work in a curry dish!! Outstanding service...attentive informative but never intrusive. Our first visit and will not be the last.
