Do not waste your money on the juke box. The management refuse to put up the volume so basically uou cannot hear the music you have paid for. Barely hear as background music- poor show

Went there for a Saturday afternoon get-together with my family, great weather and sitting outside. Drinks are a bit expensive as well as the food. However, on the whole the food was an acceptable standard considering it’s a chain pub. However, do not have the pie as it was loads of pastry and gravy inside the pie, but no real meat just quite a bit of gristle (at least 4-5 pieces) etc.

Came here for a pint and a nice view. The view is amazing and the terrace is huge and beautiful but the service isn’t great. I couldn’t get the app because my phone took long to load it but that’s not an issue, I went to the bar, I was more than happy to wait and get a drink from inside. I stood there in the line waiting patiently and slowly moving towards the area where I can order because there were loads of people waiting and only one bar tender serving. I stood for about 15 min and realised the line behind me getting bigger and bigger and the bar tender only severed 2 people in those 15 min🙁 the bartender looked very unhappy and seemed like he didn’t want to be there. Then some other worker approached him and asked ‘oh you here all alone at the bar?’ And started making a drink which I realised was for her and she stood there talking to some bartender and mixing her drink🤦🏼‍♀️ I got fed up and left the pub. No pricing listed on the drinks and no drinks menu at the bar, no idea how people order without the app

Bristol's smallest pub, worth going to for that experience alone, but Wickwar beer also makes a difference. You may need to be a contortionist to tackle the descent to the gents, in the basement, via a narrow spiral (historic) staircase.

The White Lion remains a proudly traditional pub which means more 'spit 'n sawdust' and less chain fake pub. That brings it a charm of its own. Good selection of real ales and whilst not themost spacious of public houses, this does mean that every visit is quite 'intimate'. If you are not feeling intimact, then seating spills out onto the pavement area should that be preferred. A dying breed these days so support and enjoy whilst you still can.

Valentine’s Day from hell!!! Me and my boyfriend booked to go here for Valentine’s Day. I had a reminder email on the day that we had our booking for 7:30. We drive over an hour to Bristol especially and what do we find…. The lights are off and no one’s ‘home’. We are absolutely appalled we had no communication saying they were closed, no sign on the door explaining why they weren’t open, nothing! There were 4 other couples also stood outside looking bewildered and extremely disappointed. There was no answer from the phone number on the email so we were stuck trying to find a walk in on one of the busiest days of the year for restaurants! I messaged them on Instagram, they did not reply till the next day and they said they had let customers know they were having electrical issues which is a lie because we had no such correspondence and I checked junk folder and everything. Also there were multiple other people who hadn’t been informed either so clearly they had not told people. When I tried to explain that on Instagram, they read and ignore the message and that was 5 days ago. Clearly they don’t care about customer satisfaction and don’t seem to grasp how unprofessional it is to turn up to a restaurant that as far as you are aware should be open, with Google backing that up when you look online, only to turn up to a dead restaurant. We travelled in especially and they just didn’t care. I advise you ‘scope’ out the restaurant the day before to check it is actually open.

Decided to give Garden of Easton another try following a bad experience a couple of years back. I ordered a drink and my friend ordered some food and a drink. I was asked if I was going to order food and politely told her I was not. Another table who had ordered after us had received their drinks so I got the attention of a waitress and explained I was worried we had been forgotten. She looked irked that I would ask and told me she had done the order and it would come. I thankfully had some water in my bag so drank from that, I feel like they could have offered some water to keep us happy (we had been waiting for 20 or 30 mins or so for the drinks). Received the hot drinks and my friend her hot drink and food. Shame the hot drinks could not have been given to us before the food. A chai latte is a strong flavor to have with brunch food. Strange also that we were asked to pay up front with service charge included. In hindsight I would have asked for the tip to be removed and I would have left a tip (if I felt like the service was worthy of a tip).
