Went here for dinner and had the most amazing meals and service! My Son's comment was, "this is the best burger I've ever had". All the food was prepared to the best quality we've had in a long time. Harry our waiter was really lovely. It's dog friendly as well which is always good when we have our pooch with us on holiday. We'll definitely be back!!

The host were lovely and helpfull. The food was really good, best breakfast. Recommend having a cappuccino made by the young lad at the bar. It was amazing, i could have drunk a gallon haha and I have had many cappuccino in many countries. My only gripe was room 5 was a little stuffy at night, probably because its on the top floor.

Cane for a bank holiday weekend away (at a nearby campsite). Spent most of the weekend eating here as the food was so good. Had a chicken, leek and tarragon lasagne with homemade garlic bread on Friday- more restaurant food than pub. Had a carrot soup on Saturday and the 3 tapas bowls on Monday. Great service from Ben, in the bar. Great food and great cleanliness. Properly impressed! Will be back for the next weekend away. Thank you.

Fantastic food. We had the chicken and pancetta lasagne and the crab and leek tart and it was much better than your usual pub food. Everyone loved their meal choices and the staff especially Ben were attentive and helpful. Definitely will return next time we are in the area

We chose to have Sunday lunch here as it was close to where we we’re staying. The place look’s generally a bit tired inside and out but to be fair the meal wasn’t too bad. We had roast beef which wasn’t the best I’ve ever eaten and you could tell the Yorkshire wasn’t freshly cooked as it was barely warm and soggy, but at the end of the day it’s only pub grub. The service was friendly enough and the meal wasn’t too bad but I probably wouldn’t rush back as there are many other nicer places nearby

Good basic pub grub, good sized portions, reasonably priced, if we were in the area again we would go back.

Absolutely amazing food and service. We are here, whilst visiting nearby, on Twi occasions. We drank here three days in a row. The manager, Ben, was amazing and really friendly, as we're the staff. I had the vegetable tart and potatoes one day, the calamari and burger another day and they were both lovely. The beer was decent and they had an open mike night one day, which was really fun. We will be back in a few weeks, when visiting nearby. Thank you,

We were warned against the hotel and it looks tatty from outside but inside the welcome was warm, the beds comfortable and breakfast good and generous all reasonably priced. We enjoyed our stay.

Stopped in with the kids before going to the cinema. We were going to grab something to eat. The car park was almost full of builders' vans. The one we parked alongside had 3 lads in it who seemed to be sniffing something from their dash board. Obviously, alarm bells started ringing, but my husband needed a comfort stop, and so against our better judgement, decided to pop in. Went into a large bar area, which was very brightly lit. With a huge tv blaring out 'Tipping Point' at full volume. Unfortunately the only comfortable chair/sofa was situated directly underneath the extremy loud tv. The manager came and spoke to us. He stank of rum. Despite being almost incoherent he was, however, relatively polite. At this point, anlther large group of builders entered (covered in plaster dust and dirt). The drunken, rum-soaked manager/owner turned to greet the arriving customers, only this time using entirely inappropriate vocabulary, considering there were 3 young kids only inches away. We were obviously shocked because outside it makes to be 'family friendly!'. Hubby went to use the gents, but could not get in, because the main door had been locked. After waiting a couple of minutes, 4 young lads from the group exited the toilet. Inside the door he said there was a shelf with a small plastic bag on it, which he assumed they had left behind And all before 5pm in the afternoon! I would NOT deem this to be a safe environment for kids. We left before so much as ordering our drinks. **I am re-posting this review, upon noticing it had been previously REMOVED!! - No doubt there are probably numerous other negative reviews that they are also 'absent' from this page. So bear that in mind!** Perhaps their time would be better spent elsewhere?

Used to be fantastic, then they cheaped out on the ingredients, now it is abysmal.

I come here quite often but a lot of the time they seem to shut early due to unforeseen circumstances, other than that staff are super friendly

Visited this lovely, cosy, friendly pub on a Thursday night and was lucky to find it was quiz night ! Brilliant fun, the landlord Mark has just started running these every Thursday, well worth going. Very friendly landlord and staff especially Lorraine. Beautiful St Bernard dog Zeus who loves everyone. Good beer and good choice, believe Mark is hoping to start food in next couple of weeks. If you are in the area definitely worth a visit.
