The White Horse in Harborough

We come here for lunch and we've always had a lovely meal with friendly staff. Unfortunately today the Hunters Chicken dish was not a "roasted chicken breast" but a crispy chicken fillet!! They also had no eggs to accompany the gammon steak only pineapple. The place was very busy due to there also being a bingo session on which apparently occurs monthly. If we return we will ensure it's not on a bingo day and hopefully we would get the correctly advertised and expected meals!

This place never disappoints, me and friends visit often and are always impressed with the food, staff are also friendly and always happy to help

Visited for lunch today with friends. Very pleasant staff who were all very helpful. Ordered two of the big plate meals the ribs were great . Will definitely return.

Came out to try the new menu and we weren’t disappointed, the food and service was quick to our table and the taste was brilliant, would definitely recommend.

It was lunch time and having been let down at the last minute by another cafe we rang the White Horse and they gave us the usual great welcome even though they knew that we were only having drinks on this occasion. Rude staff and refused to give us blue light discount because we’d paid a deposit!! Tables were sticky, cutlery was dirty and generally run down. First and last visit.

We eat here regularly and we are always impressed with the quality of the food and the service. Though it can get a little noisy in there, it is a well set out restaurant and you can usually get a seat easily. It’s clean and tidy. There are a good range of options on the menu though I will say they do often run out of things. I can highly recommend the steaks which are cooked well, the chicken burger which was succulent and the sticky toffee pudding which is huge. The staff are friendly and professional and also helpful. This is fast becoming our firm favourite place to eat.

Went out with some friends for dinner all meals arrived at the same time red hot and cooked to perfection waiting and bar staff very helpful and professional very nice evening had by everyone

I was part of a Ladies Charity Lunch comprising 120 ladies. I was very impressed with the standard of food. My dinner and dessert were all gluten free and the Christmas pudding was the best I have ever had. The other ladies on my table were all very impressed with their food too. The dinner was excellent value for money and it was served quickly and efficiently. Given the size of our party this was no mean feat! All staff deserve praise!

Came here for a meal with friends. Friendly and helpful staff! The food was really nice and good portion sizes. Definitely worth visiting.

Great atmosphere had a singer on who was absolutely fantastic food was superb hot and very tasty didn't have to wait long and the waitress was very efficient

Went for Sunday lunch with friends. Al food hot and tasty. Drinks served very quickly by staff who were all very helpful.

After waiting at one end of the bar for a drink for 10 minutes, we were rudely told to join the queue at the other end of the bar , we then advised them that we had a table booked and was told we still need to join the queue( which was going up the stairs),we were also advised that there was an hours wait for food, we were just about to leave and we asked a young girl if we could go to the table and get table service, she said yes sure, we soon got our drinks, then after complaining we were spoken to again rudely, we then asked to see the manager, who then reasured us that our food would be done straight away, the food was below average( chicken was very dry ).We then gave them vouchers which they tried to say they wernt valid for all meals ( wbich they were).Very dissapointing for a group of 4 friends who dont get together very often,We will certainly not be using tnis place again, the staff shouldnt be working in hospitality if they dont have any people skills.

Excellent Service, good choice of food and drink all supported by great staff who ensured we had an enjoyable experience. This establishment was also very clean and with comfortable seating. Definitely recommend and thank you all.

Visited 31/7/2024 for lunch. As we had a dog with us we sat outside. The ground was covered in cigarette ends which was off putting. It doesn’t take much to sweep them up. My husband went in to order. Just chicken wings for me and burger and fries for him. He was asked if he wanted both dishes served at the same time. I had nearly finished mine when he went in to query where his was. Mine was served in a very chipped enamel dish, hardly appealing. Four wings in BBQ sauce. There was a queue inside for drinks and the person serving was very harassed. More staff needed. Won’t be returning.

We came here as we had 30%off vouchers on a main meal.We both had lasagne and garlic bread and a portion of chips. All the food was really nice, the service was friendly and quick.Will definitely be returning here soon.

My partner had booked a table for a surprise date night as he had been previously and enjoyed it there before. We arrived and were greeted by unwelcoming member of staff at the bar who looked annoyed by us showing up, I’m assuming she was tired and didn’t want to be there. She took us to our seat, when we had sat down we looked on the menu, and on the online menu and found that they were completely different menus. The online menu has pizzas on them but not on the paper menus, then when I finally decided what I wanted it wasn’t in stock online, neither was the second choice or half of the menu. Would have appreciated a heads up from the member of staff that sat us to our table if things weren’t available on the menu. We got to the point and just left because we just got a bad taste in our mouths from the rude staff and lack of options available. Won’t be coming back again unfortunately, which from the feel of things the staff members wouldn’t care less if we don’t go back again just sucks as my partner had really enjoyed it in there before, just seems to have gone downhill in his opinion.

This is a great pub for families very friendly and helpful staff great choice of food for both adults and children very good value for money

Great pub very family and dog friendly . We had a great meal and super service from all of the staff. We will definitely be returning especially in the summer as there is great outside space. Dining outside too. Thank you to all involved

Brought my mom here for mother's day it was absolutely rammed but the food came out quickly and my gosh it was just as good as last time, thanks everyone there it will definitely become a regular place for me and my family

Even though it was busy, the food was quick, looked nice and was very delicious. The chef Craig did good work. Keep on cooking Craig.

Great service and friendly staff. Food was hot and very enjoyable . We all had a lovely evening and will definitely be back.

We booked a table here for 1pm. We arrived, got seated and went to order food at the bar only to be told... no more food for an hour and a half...? The slot we were given was from 1pm until 2.30pm, which would be fair enough, if the waiting time wasn't an hour and a half... we would've had to leave before we had received our food? Makes no sense. This also wouldn't be as bad as it was, however literally everyone else was either eating or had finished their meal. Although, we can't fault the staff, they were quite nice and polite. Overall I'm surprised as the restaurant has a very high rating, however our experience was definitely not as such- we did go on the 28th December so this may be due to Christmas, however it shouldn't have happened at all. Really disappointed, but I'm not going to tell you not to visit as it seems this was a one off.

Walked in and welcomed by staff, all friendly and seated us at a table, menu had lots to offer and when ordered arrived in good time! Tasted great and desserts also, will be visiting again!!

Great pub, foods awesome and hubby said great ales! I had a gin which I thoroughly enjoyed. Hubby had a steak deal and I had a lasagne which is one of the best around! Great service from the bar staff and waiting team! Will be back again for sure!

Came here with a group of friends never been b4 the pub looked clean & inviting wasnt overly busy we ordered are food & drinks they said it would b a half an hr wait but came quicker 2 of us had lasagna id say portion wise we got the best deal i had it with chips & my friend had hers with garlic bread which came out burnt but they replaced it quickly the other 2 friends had pie & Italian chicken looked ok but small portions was ok over all staff were workin hard

What a disappointing evening! No pizzas available on Saturdays and generally really poor quality food! For starters, cauliflower wings were I assume the crumbs from a frozen bag as they were all tiny bits… the wings and ribs were radioactively hot (fresh from the microwave) and with the breaded mushrooms the two large ones were still icy frozen in the middle! For mains, chicken burger, you get more salad from McDonald’s , that was after it had been missed off altogether and they returned having put it back on… the Mac cheese and lasagna were both rank, the Spicy burger was the best meal we had which was at best 3.5 out of 5. We had to chase up cutlery as the starters were delivered without any (we thought she was going to get it but she just disappeared) leaving me to go and find another member of staff… mains arrived 50mins after starters were cleared and still no cutlery, this time we asked straight away so got them quicker. Staff were a mixed bag, young kids that didn’t have any customer experience skills… and an older barmaid that was even worse… She charged me £3.10 for half a Pepsi max, and £3.00 for half pint lemonade which when I checked with her she said that’s right, however it said 14oz on the till ) when checked on my phone half pint is 9.5oz… so I was over charged and even worse I think the £3.10 for the Pepsi was more than the lemonade was extra for the sugar tax despite both drinks being sugar free… I checked with another member of staff and was told that “half pints are a rip off, you should have had pints as they are only 60p more”. My two pints of Estrella were served in rubbish Carling glasses rather than the nice Estrella ones. The pub is very tired with some ripped seats and very sticky tables, floors and menus… it needs a good clean, some TLC and some better staff training! Having had a few drinks in the Red Admiral last night and had a meal in the Bull two weeks ago and then after tonight’s experience I feel this is the worst pub in the village by far!

Had a scampi and a gammon both lovely, it’s a pity about margarita pizza, I think someone stood they other side of the counter when they shot the cheese on and boy have the shrunk in size.

Had a fantastic time good food good drinks highly recommended will definitely be back and will be recommending to friends

Wonderful Food, had to go to the bar to order which wasn’t an issue, had the ultimate chicken burger, which was delicious. the chicken gravy was beautiful and was a nice addition to my fries

We often pop into the White Horse for food, It’s consistently excellent quality pub food, clean and the staff are very friendly and genuinely helpful. My steak tonight was cooked medium as I had requested, the rest of my family also had a few requests which were all accommodated. I hope the brewery recognise their hardworking staff at The White Horse as their Customer Service is excellent.

I was served by rhys at the bar , he was friendly and warm welcoming . He gave me a quick service and I was sat at my table by friendly staff , we ate food and finished our drinks before leaving , I will definitely return
