We heard The White Hart was under new ownership so we came along for midweek lunch - it was great! We were warmly greeted by a kind lady behind the bar which had lots of ale, lager & cider choices. We ordered the daily special with a drink which for £12 was great value. The Cod & Chips and Scampi were exactly what you’d expect from a country town pub grub - well worth the money. The desert of STP was also lush. We’d definitely recommend this pub for a great quality and great value midweek lunch. We’ll come back for Sunday Lunch soon.

I didn't get to stay at this pub because having made a room booking i was later told I hadn't. They confirmed via email they had a room available and asked me to call back on a weekday to confirm, which i did the very next day. Then two weeks later when I rang to adjust the booking from two days to one they told me quite rudely i'd never confirmed it. My advice, get your booking confirmation in writing.

Phoned ahead 1/2 hr before we wanted to eat to find they had room for a couple and 2 dogs. Portions were unbelievable. 5 roast potatoes. 4 slices of meat and 3 dishes of veg which was double the size you would get anywhere else plus both dogs got a biscuit each which was a nice touch. Food came out quickly with extra gravy (which is always good in my book) and cheese for the cauliflower. Even got asked of more sauces were needed. Good job we had the dogs with us as they had a mini roast dinner to as to much for me to eat!

Random choice, as closer pub/restaurants were all fully booked.Only ones eating at the time (5.30pm). We ordered the Sunday roast, and couldn’t believe it when the third pot of two veg came out. Got twice as much as you’d get in most places for two people - if anything portion was too much (but we have a healthy appetite so ate it all!)Clearly a friendly local pub, the bar staff knew their regulars but were equally friendly to us outsiders, and the dogs were welcomed with biscuits while we were eating.Activities appear to include bingo and a Sunday meat raffle, and there is a pool table towards the backFood very reasonably priced and - if more local - I would visit again!

Just had a lovely meal in the white hart with a couple of friends. It very too die for . Homemade faggots and for dessert, a lovely strawberry cheesecake. Yummy. I also spoken to the landlady about the media reports, media does tend to over exaggerate news and people shouldn’t listen or believe media. I do recommend coming in and giving it a go as it’s a very welcoming pub, very nice homemade fresh food and over all a very very nice pub to be in. DO NOT BELIEVE MEDIA AND EVERYTHING ON THERE, AS NINE TIMES OUT OF TEN ITS NOT TRUE AND IM POSITIVE THE ARTICLES ABOUT THIS LOVELY PUB IS VERY OVER EXAGGERATED.

Not impressed.... my car park ticked could not be redeemed because I had not read the small print outside....in January.... in the rain... and I am disabled...... the meal was average, and to add insult to injury, I got a parking ticket for being half an hour over my time, just about the amount of time wasted waiting to be served, I shan't be going again.

Nice enough pub. Main course, steak pie was OK but dessert of bread and butter pudding was sloppily made with dried up bread and lumps of fruit rather than being sprinkled through.

A bunch of us came here for an evening meal; among our choices were pie and mash, fish and chips and steak and chips as well as sticky toffee pudding, spotted dick and cheesecake for desserts. Empty plates all round and thoroughly satisfied customers. Service was friendly and excellent value for money. It was quiet as was early January but based on our experience (there were 7 of us) I'd expect this to be busy and highly regarded as a future venue for great meals at great prices

After having a lovely valentines meal at The White Hart, when our friends suggested a meal there last saturday night we were more than happy to go back. But our experience this time was so disappointing I dont think I will ever pay for food in there again. We had a sharing platter to start which was nice and between four people was enough but not too much so that you were stuffed for the main course. I had ordered the beef burger and my friends all had steak. My burger was awful I could only manage to eat a quarter of it as it was deep fried and poor quality meat and the fries were not very hot (I have had a burger from here previously which was obviously home made and was delicious) this was a completely different plate of food. My friends all had steak, one friend was happy with hers but the other two steak were very small and quite chewy and again the chips were not hot. We mentioned this to the waitress and she did not take this on board and made no comment when we said about it, which I believe was because she was young and inexperienced. She then struggled with the fact that each couple wanted to pay half the bill each on cards and had to get her colleague to do it for her. I think that it is a great shame as it was nice to have somewhere else in Cullompton to go and have a meal but I will be sticking to the Bakehouse and the Weary Traveller for food from now on.

I had 2 hours to kill in Cullumpton and thought I'd do some paper work so I walked up the small Main Street and The White Hart looked the most inviting - I walked in and it's really well decorated, new and cool but not too cool - in keeping with the old building! The barman who had a midlands accent was really friendly! I was pleased to see Sagres - a Portuguese Lager - on tap! I sat and had a few pints while charging my phone and using the free wi-fi. I didn't eat but the menu looked like it had all the classic favourites you'd expect from a pub called the White Hart. It looked well priced and if I was hungry would of ordered something - but overall A great, comfortable, clean, cool but not 'over' cool, friendly pub, with Sagres on Tap!

My friend and I were looking for a restaurant in the village of Collumpton after an exciting day in the Dartmoor national park but the places in the main street didn't look very attractive. It was getting late so we decided to pick the White Hart - but did so half-heartedly. The man behind the bar invited us to have supper upstairs. Well, the lovely upstairs restaurant was quite a surprise. We had a very good meal and a very enjoyable evening not too far away from our B&B.

We needed somewhere to stay overnight for a local wedding and The White Hart seemed ideal. We arrived a few hours earlier than expected to check in as we were in "mid-wedding" but they were amazing and said they would lock all our bags in the office until the rooms were ready and then would put stuff in the room once done. All the staff were really friendly and just wanted us to enjoy the stay. Rooms are of a high standard, especially for a pub and the food and ale are excellent too.Would definitely stay again when we are in the area :)

We were looking for somewhere reasonably priced and in a good location for a stop on our journey from Worcestershire to crealy. We'd visited Brean for the day and found this hotel to stay over before we set off next day to Cornwall. It was in a brilliant location, a short drive from the m5, staff were really friendly and helpful, room was perfect, it was reasonably priced. We didn't eat In the evening but watched the food coming out for other people and were really impressed with the quality and value. We had a great night playing pool and tunes on the dukebox watching the locals coming in and out for a few drinks. Followed by a lovely sleep in the comfy bed and a superb breakfast next morning. Really impressed with this place and would definitely stay again! Thankyou for being so accomodating

We walked slowly up and down the High street looking for somewhere to eat that wasn't a takeaway. We stumbled into this place out of desperation more than anything. Some of the establishments advertising food I wouldn't venture into without my army of bodyguards. However The White Hart was a delight. Staff were pleasant and efficient and by the look of the place has been recently refurbished. The upstairs restaurant looked wonderful if a tad too bright with too many lights on, no dimmer switch? I also have to say the music was a tad too loud. Fortunately a nice young man asked for it to be turned down. The menu was basic pub food and the specials board added a few more item. The food was presented well and the plate was full. I chose the chicken with seasonal vegetables. I didn't realise frozen peas were in season in August. They were fine and I'm nit-picking, but I understand beans and carrots are seasonal ATM. People of Cullompton support this pub/restaurant. Dress nicely and go and have an enjoyable evening. Whilst walking home you might like to reflect why this is the only place in town. I couldn't revue the bistro type restaurant also in the high street as it was fully booked. That's two places to support although I have to say the Bistro menu looked a bit exotic for the good people of Cullompton.

The town of Cullompton needs all the new ventures it can get and the newly refurbished White Hart, in the main street, is a current positive talking point with the locals. Attention grabbing boards on the pavement lure you into the bar and dining area which is bright, nicely decorated and inviting. Several older people were either taking tea/coffee or meals. We were welcomed by a cheerful member of staff who took the trouble to explain what was available and what had been done to the building. He also told us about the various theme evenings and other things that were planned. Very comfortable seating area and an interesting selection of bar snacks, main courses and specials to ponder over. We opted for a shared seafood platter, tea and coffee. The seafood was delicious and a generous selection, modestly priced, arrived which included large prawns, calamari, gujons and scampi with garlic bread. Special coffees were off the menu as the machine needed repair but our drinks were fine. I am not sure about the teapot which came as a smallish glass, kettle shaped container with glass lid and a metal folding handle. I found it difficult to pour as I was afraid the lid would drop off. It was also extremely hot to handle any of the glass. This hotel restaurant is out to impress and to give value for money. We enjoyed our lunch experience and will certainly return for an evening meal sometime.

I am thrilled that you are getting back up and running. I've had so many relaxed and friendly hours in the cafe with friends that I am looking forward to more accompanied by a fab nut roast and side salads fit for a queen. Airy and plenty of space (unlike other cafes that cram as many in as they can) so it feels very Covid safe even without have to make big changes.
