Costa Coffee in Mid Devon

Good friendly service and helpful.

We visit this place quite often as a convenient half-way journey break between home and visiting family in North Devon. The usual Costa offering of nice coffee, and tempting cakes etc. The building itself (shared with a well known fast food outlet) looks and feels very tired and grubby around the edges. The toilets in particular are in need of a revamp, or at least a thorough clean and repaint. I much preferred stopping here when it was a Little Chef, but that was several years ago!

Friendly staff, but the place is a bit gloomy

Really cosy little Costa where you can take sanctuary from the traffic on the M5. Lovely friendly staff and excellent service. I pop in here nearly every time I pass.

I tried the Raspberry mini bubble frappé thing, but it wasn't for me (I'm sure it's lovely for others). The team of two lads (11/07/2024) we're really polite and efficient.

Needed a poo so had to make an emergency stop. It was open, clean and tidy. Win win. No food bought. Just one large delivery.

The usual of what you expect from Costa

Always stop there for a tea/coffee break on the way to Ruda holiday park Croyde. Sometimes have a cake with our drinks but nothing else, there is a Burger king alongside Costa which seems quite popular

Great location for pick-ups and drop-offs for children with separated parents.

3 stars for the atmosphere because half the time I've visited there is no one there, which could be perceived as a plus. Had a Burger King around 3pm and mine was the only order going through. Costa side was more busy but definitely a place for something chilled, or not after this review?!

Stopped off for coffee and pastry offer, because staff were busy chatting missed by 2 mins, which meant cost was £3 more!!!! Then they proceeded to serve rest of queue forgetting my 2 coffee's because of the chatting!!!! So a further wait Recommend you give it a miss! Unless you're desperate

Staff seemed a bit off almost felt like they didn't want to serve you. Explains the tepid coffee.!!

We have a tea or coffee here at least once a week. The staff are brilliant, very friendly

Helpful staff very clean plenty of choice

Main problem I always have here is that I just can't work out how to access by car or how to get to when eventually parked. I'm a good driver generally and I manage to find my way about in life but the two times I've wanted to stop here for a much needed coffee I've really struggled with knowing how to get there. Doesn't help that there's a fuel station close by which might be clouding my view of signage possible. I've driven around the fuel station a few times trying to get to Costa or the Burger King in the shared building. When parked there don't seem to be many obvious signs on the building about how to get inside! If you come here and find somebody walking around the carpark embarrassed then that's probably me.. maybe business could be improved with a simple clear sign? Last time I was tempted to give up entirely as I was in a hurry! The pic from the carpark might prove my point.. the pedestrian approach is from the rear of the building. Apart from the really weird access it's good coffee and food.

5 out of 5 for customer service. Been to many costa but the person serving he was very friendly and helpful. Drink came out fast

Shocking ordered a sausage bap and a frappe sausage bap sat on the side for at least 10 minutes while I waited for the person to try and make the drink a young woman and young lad behind the counter you could see they couldn't give a toss about there job and neither of them want to be there 6pm 18th Feb

We always like to pop in for a cheeky Costa on the way home, it's just off the motorway, about 30 seconds drive if the lights are green.

Spacious Costa with various types of seating and usually reasonable parking options. 🚻 too. The usual food offerings and staff normally v friendly n helpful here!

We went there for a coffee on the way to Tiverton, which we do quite often. This time I was a little upset, as an ex service man and extremely happy to wear my poppy with pride I did notice not one person coming in or leaving was wearing a poppy. Both the wife and I left just before the 2 minutes silence and observed that in our car. I feel that people are beginning to forget.

Coffee was as good as ever, service was slow the barista was slow and looked like he was not sure what he was doing.

Usual standard of coffee and snacks. Close to the M5 at the junction with the North Devon Link. Good staff.

This is a good Costa Coffee with really nice staff . Despite being very busy due to motorway problems they found time to talk to customers and make them feel valued. My last visit was equally pleasant with a very young girl who did not stop cleaning and working between customers. They come across as a happy team.

Thought £4.35 a bit steep for a takeaway coffee in my own container.

For a small motorway service stop it was good.

Really crispy and fresh toasted teacakes served with a smile. A good place to drop in off the M5.

We have stopped here many time and had excellent service but on this occasion the main service area was closed and all customers were forced to use a fast service outlet. To say the staff were having difficulty with service was an understatement the service was atrocious mainly because the outlet was not capable of providing for the volume of customers.

The lady at the front was a true professional. Great range of cakes but not many attractive food choices. Very high prices. My tuna and cheese melt was nice and hot and fresh with nothing much in terms of ingredients.

My local Costa I go frequently as I live down the road always welcome with a friendly welcome and have a pork sausage roll with a Americano and eat in toilet facilities available

Great one on motorway. Drove from London early in the morning and arrived 8am having coffee and hot sandwich, but a bit pricey

Visiting friends, stopped for the toilet. Easy access disabled parking.

Till broke waited ages for coffee didnt get change back . Complete joke

Drink was okay but the toilets were discussing. Looks like they have not been cleaned for a long time. Loads of dust on the toilets showing they have not been wiped. The toilet door handles covered in dirty fingers prints. And the handle to the building was very dirty. Do cleaners and staff not know how to clean. Also asked for a decaf coffee as medical condition. Told they are not doing it right now. Then few minutes later served someone else a decaf. One standard for one and a different one for someone else. If I was the manager of this establishment I would be embarrassed.

Lovely place, always visit when I'm in the UK from Barbados

Just served by a fair haired young girl who spoke quietly and fast. I asked twice what were the drinks and she started losing her patience. In front of other customers she said ‘Jesus’ so that it was audible…making out I was somewhat stupid for not hearing her. Place was packed…they were busy but this is not how I expect to be treated at Costa. Also oatmilk is 50p…Starbucks is looking at a new loyal customer going forward!

2 customers in the shop, drive through empty. Waiting at the counter and unfortunately 3 members of staff and not one greeted me or served me after 5minutes of standing at the counter. I understand if they are busy, but not even a greeting.

The interior, shared with a Burger King, is decidedly drab and the toilets could do with a bit of an overhaul, however the Costa itself is excellent with a good range of sweet and savoury food. Service quite excellent.

Poor, poor customer service. Ordered to join a different queue, even though we followed the arrows. No hello. Didn't here my order, so said "what?" in a very "can't be bothered" way ...Ordered Iced Peach Tea, got warm Peach Tea... Certainly was absent on the Costa Cusi Service training day!

Popped in for refreshments on the way to Devon. The staff were really friendly and very obliging, and I must say the iced coffee was first class. The premises followed all Covid regs, and the place was spotless! Recommended 😁

You need to ask for seasonal special coffee to ensure a fresh grind in bigger shops. Double espresso too long so need to ask for ristretto.

Part of Moto services off A361, at Tiverton, found staff polite and friendly, lovely honeycomb frostino! , One way system to assist with social distancing, plenty of hand sanitizer. Disabled access and facilities. Face covering needed for those who are not exempt .

Even in these uncertain times there was a very friendly greeting from the staff. I've used this Costa a lot over the years and the service is consistently good - as is the coffee. Why not 5 stars? Unable to sit inside as coffee only available as a take-away. Be aware it is card payment only.

We often chose this costa not that it’s the closest to us but because they have two brothers that work at this one and they both make the best coffee in the whole of the Costa empire,other staff in the same shop could do with there cheerful customer service,we will keep coming back as long as they keep working at this one.

Visited here for a coffee after travelling for nearly 3 hours. Wasn't to busy when we arrived, but it was early. Staff were pleasant and the coffee was ok. nothing special, but you usual Costa

This is a great little piece to have a brake from the motorway, there's a Costa & burger King there, the burger King doesn't opens at 10 o'clock, there's a petrol station but its service station prices. Burger King meal was good & Costa great. All the staff are very welcoming.

I can tell you---I love the Costa in Tiverton.The service is always great even though they don't have time to breathe, and they don't constantly bother you while you are having your coffee, or whatever drink, which is nice.I think their' dedicated" dogs area" is a great idea.It's so popular in there they need more seating.Very nice.

I'm not sure but a lot of the costa Coffee shops I've visited lately, don't make very good Capacinos and here is no exception. . Far too milky and the Americano was on the weak side, almost like it needed an extra shot. So could do better. Staff were very polite though. ☺️

We stopped at the Travel lodge opposite, and went in here for breakfast. We didn’t expect such a fantastic assistant/ cashier. Her name is Claire, wow she knows how to look after people, nothing was too much trouble, very,very impressed, thank you Claire, we shall return !

This is a little known service station off the M5 at J27. Called in to the Costa Coffe after a long walk around the area. The prices are a lttle high that the high street branches, but the location is quiet. The place is clean and tidy and there are lots of tables and chairs. The men that serviced wished us a Happy New Year, they were policte, efficient and an asset to this branch. Will call again.

Quite cosy for a service area coffee shop

This is a great place to stop off on your way to North Devon because there is nothing else worth while until you get to South Molton - and if that is shut, next stop is Barnstaple! Even this place place isn’t 24hrs so if you are travelling late, make sure you stop somewhere else before you get here if low on fuel/food etc! Can get busy during holiday periods as can be expected.

If the two lads are on duty you get best Costa coffee available, fuel prices not to bad for so close to motorway.

Regularly visit due to convenient location to meet family. Excellent coffee, the staff are friendly but sometimes the toilets can absolutely stink
