Been coming here for years, tonight was the worst experience so far, service was horrendous, considering there was 6 or 7 staff working, we had to wait 40 minutes before someone even asked if we were ready to order, too busy serving people who came in after we did, once we said we wanted the carvery, the waitress said she would give us a ticket, but after 10 minutes we had to go and ask for it, not even worth getting table service, the staff look like they can't even be asked, we asked for the bill as soon as the desert was brought out so we could get out of there, likely will look elsewhere now

Good food, friendly staff. Will definitely go again.

Overall nice little pub lunch. Pub was busy so parking was restricted but there are side road you can park down near by if needed.

Table for 11. Service was good. Pork scratchings to die for. Carvery okay but almost cold, 2 x pizzas cold, dry and not enough topping, very disappointing, lamb stringy. My first time booking at White Hart, Denmead, will not recommend again. Sad because it's a nice venue ...

Great food, bit pricy but large portions.

A very busy Saturday and not enough staff on the bar hence long queues to get a drink. Lovely gardens with plenty of seating.

Location and pub is nice but customer service is poor. Lack of staff, takes forever to get served even when the pub is quiet. Food is nice when eventually arrives.

We had an incredible lunch. We have been searching for the perfect ploughman's and haven't been to The White Hart for many years. We will definitely be returning. The IPAs pleased my husband, and the gin range was different to most places. Best of all, the gluten free menu was amazing and you were willing to double the ploughman's size for us and it was still VERY good value! I think we've just found our new regular place.

Very pleased with our overnight stay at The White Hart, found it clean, comfortable & well equipped, & a most amazing FULL English breakfast. Would definitely recommend.the

Booked table for 7pm. Arrived before 7pm and waiting in a queue at the bar, as the pub was very busy, to let someone know I was here, the staff member just pointed tobthe table we had. We waited 20 mins no-one came over, so ordered drinks at the bar, tried to order food, but was told waitress will be over to take order. Waited a further 10 mins and then had to ask someone to take our order. Food arrive eventually and was lovely. No-one came to check if the food was alright, or offer desserts or more drinks. We had to go and find someone to get the bill as had enough if waiting. Cannot fault food, but service is shocking and staff are very rude. Will not rush to go back again.

Great local pub with an amazing atmosphere. My boyfriend and his family often come here and recommend the pork belly!

We had lunch on a Friday; a party of 8, pre-booked. Extremely busy, and a few staff short, but coped well. Range of food options incredible, fresh and hot; excellent. Good range of beers too. Car parking a bit tight. Great garden area for families with children and/or pets. Will return very soon.

Lunched at The White Hart on Monday.. Nice venue. Waitress was very efficient and friendly ..........great.

Rude manager who just drinks wine in the bar and doesn’t try to help her staff in busy times, attitude runs off on the staff who are just as rude to customers, seems like you as a customer are a hindrance when you ask for anything, told kitchen is closed because the bar staff were too busy to take any food out (around 6pm on Tuesday and only 2 staff behind bar) if times are busy and you’re understaffed, as a manger you help out instead of dinking in the bar as a customer (even if it’s not your shift)

Amazing service and a lovely classic pub will be returning the food was amazing the portions massive and outdoor kids play area made it great for everyone

went yesterday - the food was pretty good but the service was shocking - we had to repeatedly go up and interrupt the waitresses chatting at the bar to get them to wait on our table for drinks - ordering food - desserts - really put us off going again

Going to give up on this pub now, service is abysmal… First time we went, no waiter came over to take our drinks, so we had to eventually order from the bar. Finally a waiter came over to take our food order, after 90 mins, food hasn’t turned up as they forgot to put it through… Yesterday (14/07/24), called to book a table, we arrive and it’s not on their system, so we were shoved in a corner. No one came to service the table, so had to order food and drinks at the bar. After 30 mins, our bottle of wine arrived with dirty glasses. Another 30 mins after that, food arrives (was nice!). But plates weren’t taken away, had to ask bar again for some table service… Will not be going back

Had such a great meal here on friday night. Kids had the best time playing outside on the bouncy castle and play equipment. I had the special.. spanish style moules frites. It was sooooooooo delicious! Staff were so helpful and efficient. We have been a few times before and always had such a great experience. Its perfect for the kids to. Highly recommend.

We came here as a family group and were really impressed with the friendly service and excellent food. Portion sizes were large and good value. We all enjoyed our meals. Would return if only we lived in the area.

Great pub food with lots of selection. car park could do with some line organisation as the wealthy folk with their oversized cars don't know how to park properly.

Sunday Carvery at the white hart was a disappointment, the beef was so tough we could not cut the meat let alone chew it . The table we were sat at had food on the floor and despite bringing it to the attention of the waitress it was ignored and stepped over . I contacted the white hart and have so far received no response . Save your money and don’t bother with the carvery !

Took my children and grandchildren for a meal here as living in Yorkshire I don't see them very often. The service from the waitress was very good, the food wasn't that good, I ordered the gammon steak and they didn't even have any pineapple! The worst rip off was the price of drinks, they would never charge that much in Yorkshire as people just wouldn't pay it. I have nothing against a business making a profit but no need to rip people off. Will not be going there again and would certainly not be recommending them.

Food and atmosphere are great. Don't eat before you go as the portions are large. Fish and chips are the biggest I've ever seen. Well worth a trip out

Took mum out of Pompey for a meal and drive in the countryside. Stopped in at White Hart. Friendly service. Nice pint of IPA. Had one off the specials board. Stack of Ribs with sweet potato chips Mum had the pork belly with mustard potatoes. Both meals were absolutely gorgeous. Really good service. It was nice to see the pub pretty busy. Will definitely pop back at some point in the near future.

- Great Pub, Great Grub, spot on Customer Service - Only 4 stars on service and that not because it was bad service. the staff were spot on the service to the table was perfect, very knowledgable and customer service was more than you would expect from a country pub. The reason for 4 stars is because of the reserved tables. almost all tables were reserved and in the time that we were there, at least half the restaurant was reserved from entering to leaving. For me thats a very poor business decision and several groups of people arrived and left because there was no where to sit due to the reserved tables huge profit loss in the space of 2 hours. However, that said, this is a really nice pub/restaurant that is laid out to give you room around your table. Good seating and a variety of table that will suit most group sizes. Its well decorated and has a really nice country style feel to it. Unfortunately I haven't experienced the rooms but from a couple we were chatting to who were staying have said they are very nice, clean and good size. Hopefully I can update this soon if we take a weekend out and stay at some point.

The food is great and really good price. The pub is lovely with a nice atmosphere and a great garden my son enjoys, but the service is shocking. We have ate here a few times now and at first I thought it might have been that we went on a bad day but the fact every time we visit there is no improvement to the speed and delivery of the service bothers me. From the time we ordered to the time we ate was close to an hour. Someone took our drink and dinner order and then we never had any communication with anyone again. No one to ask if the food was OK or to grab us another drink (considering we had almost drank the entire drink before the dinner arrived as it took so long). It's something the pub obviously doesn't take pride in because for a long time it has been the same poor service. Won't be eating here again.

Visited on the 24th of April 2024, my mothers 83rd birthday, the carvery was absolutely outstanding the Roast Beef was the best I’ve had in years, cooked to perfection, value for money as well excellent on all fronts

Have just experienced the worst service in the white heart, asked for the chef he had left the other chef refused to come out, but the worst was the most rudest waitress I’ve ever dealt with, this has put me off ever going back, Such a shame celebrating a 80th birthday to have experienced such awful service from just one waitress who was so rude to me never go back again

Firstly, the staff were exceptional. We had a table of 26 for a 30th birthday party and they were very understaffed but braved the huge party and busy pub with grace and professionalism. I was only shocked at how few staff were on, when Sundays are typically busy for pubs and there was a huge party booking. The food was good with great gluten and dairy free options. I had the pork belly. The portion sizes were great and the food arrived hot and was delicious. The only other criticism was that for such a huge party booking, we did end up split into two groups, which dampened the atmosphere a little. I was concerned by the amount of negative reviews but was ultimately impressed with the staff and the food, I would definitely come back.

Just been for the 1st time. I will say there was nothing we disliked about it. The staff were very friendly, the food exceeded our expectations and we are very fussy. We will definitely be going back and recommending them thank you White Hart

The pub itself is lovely, however the service and food are very poor. It took half an hour for anyone to take our drinks order, when they arrived 2 out of the 4 drinks were wrong. We had to grab a member of staff to place our food order another 10 minutes later and finally got our food 90 minutes after arrival. The food was of poor quality, chicken was very dry, it had clearly not been freshly cooked or had been reheated or under a heat lamp for a long time. Our experience was incredibly disappointing and will definitely not be returning.

Lovely done up gastro pub. Hard to get to if you're not local but lovely once you're there. Food and drinks a bit pricey and service can be slow in busy times but overall would recommend.

Popped in for bank holiday Monday lunch. Excellent choice of food and tested Excellent too. Great service and price. 100% go again. Recommended.

Great food, menu and carvery, and good choice of beer but service, especially when clearing and collecting, wasn't good. Had to go and ask for next course menu's, asked for bill but still had to go and ask again etc.

Absolutely shocking owners extremely rude!! Been there multiple times was always respectful and polite to everyone there!! Never had no issues with anyone and never started or caused any trouble. I brought food there on several occasions and drink. Never had an issue then one day apparently my mum called in and said I was not allowed to drink there no more! Which was all lies. Told me I was weird and apparently no one liked me!! Although everyone there on the staff team was chatty and polite, friendly to me!! Clearly owners have an issue with anyone they just don’t like the look of. I have autism and Asperger’s and the landlords treat loyal customers like this. Absolutely shameful. Lost for words!! Will never be going back and the landlords are bellends.

Biggest fish & chips portion I have had in my life! Food took a while to arrive but it was delicious and fresh. Staff was nice and polite.

The food is pretty spot on but unfortunately it seems to be let down by the service of the staff and almost rudeness. After our initial offer of drinks, we were not asked if anyone wanted any more (we were there nearly 3 hours) and had to ask at the bar for desert menus, where we were just pointed to the end of the bar. We have been there twice now and it felt the same on both occasions, maybe because we were a large group, who knows but I don't fancy going back, even if the food is nice.

My mum took her friend here for a birthday lunch, their table was booked for 12.30, they had their mains served at 1pm, no staff came over to offer them desserts or anything and they were then told at 1.50 that they had to leave the table as the next people were here, when they said they hadn't had dessert or been offered it they were told they could have them on a sofa!! I understand 2 hour slots when busy but at no point were they told this was the case, most restaurants tell you when booking, and to only be given an hour and twenty minutes and kicked off your table is dreadful service and ruined their birthday dinner. We certainly won't be going back

Just pooped in for lunch, really busy but service was good and quick too. Enjoyed our meals so a pleasant visit. Recommended.

I Originally phoned to see if they had any availability for valentines day which I was informed they were fully booked. I had also emailed earlier that day and received a reply to say they had availability so I made a reservation. We turned up and the pub was 30% full at best. The service was very slow and staff were blunt. Our table wasn’t cleaned and had to ask for menus. Food was ok but for the price it was nowhere near good value. Atmosphere was terrible and I would have thought for a day like Valentine’s Day it would have been much busier. Unfortunately I won’t be going back which is a shame because the location is lovely and has the potential to be a nice cosy pub/restaurant.

Carvery was OK. The best was the meat. Potatoes and gravy lukewarm. Vegetables not very tasty.

Awful!! Went for a carvery and wish we hadn’t! Beef was stringy and extremely chewy , awful to try and eat! Roast potatoes were hard to cut and obviously heated up from maybe a day or two before! Swede was sloppy and had a strange taste to it . Carrots looked old and discoloured , and lastly , the gravy was like water! The waitress behind the bar with tattoos was very abrupt and rude also! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON A SUNDAY ROAST HERE!!

nice friendly staff and welcoming especially with our dog who was treated to a piece of chicken and lots of fuss. We Enjoyed sitting in front of an open fire while we enjoyed our drinks. Hope to return for some food as smelt lovely

Really enjoyed our evening at the white hart, had a good specials board which had some very decent offerings, winter stew, Xmas burger, lamb, and linguine to name a few. The mixed grill here is great and not to mention enormous!, good beers on tap including Heineken and all at a very reasonable price. It’s a big pub with plenty of parking and loads of outside seating if required. staff were attentive without being overbearing, highly recommended

Awful experience. Booked accommodation 3 weeks in advance and paid half deposit. I was with my 85 year old grandmother and on arrival we were told the booking hadn’t been taken down and were questioned if we booked the right place. After having my intelligence insulted I showed the manager the receipt that I had to actually request from the miserable lady on the phone when I booked. We booked a twin room for 2 nights and they gave us a double room for the first night and initially told us they’re fully booked for the next night. I was rightfully not happy to sleep thinking we will be stranded over 100 miles away from home so I spoke to the manager again and she grumpily said she’ll cancel someone else’s booking for the next night. Seeming as if she did us a favour for doing her job. We were also told that there is an employee who’s not writing things down properly so they are aware someone is not doing their job. In the morning around 8am we were woken to a man deciding to unlock our door, walk in, apologise then leave. I spoke to a bar lady and she said she saw a drunk man and he must’ve unlocked the wrong room. When speaking to the manager she said it was an engineer. I questioned why he is unlocking doors and not knocking, she quite literally couldn’t care less. On departure we spoke to her again about our stay and she had absolutely no sympathy for the stress this caused us and was extremely hostile and abrupt. In the rooms themselves the glasses were dirty and so was the coffee machine. On the second morning my breakfast order was wrong and cold.

Lovely pub, nice food,and good prices but Sadly nowhere near enough staff on, so waiting time was long. Had to cancel our deserts and coffees as was waiting far too long. Felt sorry for waiting staff as out of their hands, they did a fine job.

Staff so rude and unhelpful and the Landlords are even worse. Awful atmosphere and won’t be going back. Gone down hill badly.

Cosy, friendly place and the kids love it for the food and bouncy castle.

Stayed one night, the room appeared to be newly decorated and to a high quality. Breakfast was plentiful and to a good standard. Jules, our server/owner was attentive and courteous. Overall a good experience.

Great little place to stay over for a family event. Stylish rooms, comfy bed, delicious breakfast.
