Lovely old pub, friendly staff and locals and good food - burger and fish pie both excellent

We went here for a family reunion. It's just outside of the Vellanoweth hamlet. They accommodate 27 of us from the U.S. and we're very gracious. I cannot say enough good things about this place and I will be back. Roland Vellanoweth.

What a fabulous place, we were recommend to go for the real ales and it didn't disappoint at all.

Visited the White Hart on Tuesday 10th September. The 'beetroot tart and goats cheese' was sublime. This was matched by the wonderful service and friendly nature of "Dee".

Great beer but mediocre food. Service was good, though.

Super Sunday roast in a tiny little village. We booked ahead and the pub was busy . They only do roasts on a Sunday!

Stopped here for lunch while walking from St Ives to Marazion on St Michael’s Way. Service was quick and friendly, the lunch portions were generous, and the food was great. I had a ham sandwich—buttery, crispy, fresh bread, thick slices of ham—and my partner had the ploughman’s lunch. A classic cozy country pub with surprisingly good food.

4 of us had food here, all of us loved our meals. Absolutely fab food.

We found The White Hart on Google Maps after trying for about an hour to find somewhere in Penzance to have dinner without any luck. This pub is very quirky & true old school charm, a real local gem. We ordered the catch of the day and the burger, both of which were exceptional. The fillet was hot & tasted perfect, and the burger could give BK a run for their money. The place is beautiful, I'm only giving 4 stars on account of the price, it's VERY pricy, with the fish costing £20, however no great complaints here, we left full & very impressed.

This is wonderful place. Great to see a traditional pub that's not been changed out of all recognition. Very helpful bar staff. When the weather's good there's a large beer garden.

We were spending the night in the local area so decided to have dinner here. It was busy as it was a Saturday night but we found a table with ease. The pub was rustic with a great atmosphere, and the guy behind the bar who served us was very friendly and welcoming. We didn't wait long for our food, and my burger was absolutely delicious. The house slaw was gorgeous, and overall, the meal was well worth the price. I would definitely recommend eating here. You won't be disappointed!

Spent a few days in this area and ate here twice. Great cosy atmosphere and really nice food. No hesitation in recommending for a relaxed beer and competitive priced, great tasting food.

Amazing 5 star all round, just what you expect from a country pub, plus gorgeous food and great service

Spend 4 days in the area and had two evening meals here. Wonderful food, great atmosphere, very friendly and welcoming staff, even though they were short staffed. Clean pub and toilets, nice garden, front and back. Highly recommend the tagliatelle. Nice selection of beers, ales and wine.

Stopped here just by chance after visiting castle brea farm. Was welcomed by Dee our hostess who was just incredible from start to finish. Food was sublime, all locally sourced. The whole pub had its original character. Was just an amazing pub overal. Thoroughly recommend.

What an amazing friendly place. From the wonderful staff Brian,Dee, Ange and Kieran to name just a few to the amazing chefs Neil and Luke. An absolute gem of a place, lovely atmosphere and some of the best finest locally sourced food I’ve ever tasted. So good we’re back later today! Thanks to all that make it that little bit extra special .

A fantastic traditional old pub, a real locals pub but we were made very welcome, we call on Sunday n all the tables were booked so called in again during the week. We had the bubble n squeak, which I have to say was just beautiful. The staff lass behind the bar was brilliant. All the locals were very friendly to us n my dog all very chatty. We will be back next year. I hope n wish you the very best to keep a real old traditional pub going.

Had fish and chips , very disappointed and quite expensive , chips were tasteless and minted peas too sweet. Would not eat there again

Friendly welcome and service. Great pit stop when hiking the St Michael's Way. I stopped in today whilst doing the Way for an ice cold lager shandy and to use the, very clean, facilities. Recommended.

There can be few pubs left in 2024 that still maintain the close connection with and importance to, its community as The White Hart does. Everything here adds up - the staff, the building, the customers, the drinks and food, all make for the perfect local. Even better, people who are not local, as I'm not, are also accepted and welcomed in the same way. Good luck to everyone involved.

Went for Sunday lunch on Mother's Day around two in the afternoon with my wife. Rather naively, I thought the pub would be starting to be a bit quieter, but the staff were rushed off their feet with a jam-packed pub. Even so, the staff did a fantastic job at finding us a quiet table (we had our dogs with us) and serving us in double quick time. We had roast beef sirloin with all the trimmings with lemon tart and pecan tart to follow, all of which we enjoyed enormously. In short, it is a lovely pub, has a lively atmosphere, brilliant staff and all for a very reasonable price.

What a gem! This is such a lovely old pub, bursting with character, warm and cosy with a great atmosphere. The service was fantastic, staff lovely.. food was fantastic and very reasonably priced, the apple and caramel pie was one of the best desserts I’ve ever had! We will back again… and again! Lovely friendly owner and beautiful country pub. The beer, food and bar snacks are really good value here - a good third cheaper than some of the touristy pubs along the coast. Hearty portions sizes too. Would recommend - 5*

Amazing little local pub. Very friendly people both working and customers. Dog friendly place, he got lots of attention from everyone. Food was great, highly recommend the fish and chips! The only downside was a lack of parking, but don't let that put you off :)

What a find! On our way home from a day out, thought we would give this place a try. Very warm welcome, great food and a lovely peaceful setting. A large beer garden around the back of the pub has also got a covered area for shade or shelter from showers. Will be back! Updated from the first visit.... just called in again, fab. Food delicious, staff friendly and a great atmosphere 👌

Lovely country pub and a great hostess in Dee who worked so hard. Service was excellent and the food was lovely. Homemade bubble and squeak was amazing. Thoroughly recommend.

Booked a table here as we were staying a short distance away. Looked a lovely little pub. We walked in and immediately felt unwelcome. The man and young girl behind the bar kind of just looking at us for a few minutes. Eventually the young girl came over and I said we had a table booked. She took us to a table that believe it or not was underneath the stairs in a dark and dingy awful space with cobwebs and all. Didn't ask us if we would like any drinks and just disappeared. After about 10 mins we got up and walked out. I have never been made to feel so unwelcome in my life. This pub clearly doesn't want any new customers and is happy with its regulars. Don't wate your time here.

Chose this lovely old pub just off the main road for lunch, No sandwiches but we had a couple of starters instead, creamy garlic mushrooms and mackerel pate both with crusty bread and a side of sweet potato fries, food was excellent , recommended 😊

Twas a Monday and so many places are closed for food !!!!! So had a coffee. Revolting. I took it back and had nothing in return. I was offered instant, well I could have stayed at home for that. Reception was not good, dressed very poorly indeed. Used to be my local but not now and never will be

Nice place to have a drink but awful food. Steak was like a leather boot and the curry was dry and didn't come with half the ingredients listed in the menu. Rice was just microwave rice. Really disappointed, its such a pretty pub too.

Bloody awful roast couldn’t smell any food when we walked in , the pub was empty I think the food was heated up in the microwave no Yorkshire pudding dried up meat . I made an egg and bacon bap when I got home we was so hungry

Never again what a disappointment!! Food was not great had a roast beef which could hardly be cut cos wast all fat and sinue the veg consisted of half a small carrot and half a roast parsnip a spoon of sweed and a spoon of mush that I think was over cooked leak and bacon?? And even the staff were arguing amongst themselves.. What an expensive waste of money!!

Firstly I wish the new management/ landlord all the best for taking on this incredibly old public house tucked away in the back lanes above Marazion. It's certainly walkable from Marazion but perhaps not in the dark! Several cask ales on when I visited, the 'Atlantic' was very well kept & very drinkable but I expect ever changing. Would have tried the food but was booked up at 18.00 so perhaps a hint here! Booking required to try in future. My only complaint on behalf of my wife was the quality of the white wine which I suspect is enforced by the supplier which is a real shame, as it really put her off. It's an amazing old pub & well worth seeking out the interior is amazing.

First time back since the pandemic and another fabulous experience. The Sunday roast was fantastic and the service excellent. The friendly staff made us feel so welcome. Will definitely return when we're back in the area.

Lovely pub, live music and a great bear garden with good food and service

Nice friendly pub, personally didn't enjoy the burger, found the patty too thick and homemade crusty bun. I would say that with the burger less is more, a simple sauce. Patty half the size, Slight increased fat content in meat used would help to moisten the crusty roll bun and make it more enjoyable.

Friendly staff serving cask ales and good honest pub grub.

Witnessed rude and threatening behaviour towards a customer from management. Shocking behaviour being threatened to have a pint chucked over you by the woman in charge of the pub. Some basic customer service skills beed to be implemented for sure!!

We have enjoyed eating there over the last two years. Today they have a new chef; unfortunately he is not up to the standard of the last one. Most disappointed!

Beautiful old pub in gorgeous village. Stayed nearby so ate in the pub 3 nights in a row. Food was lovely. They were also kind and helpful when fitting more family members into our booking one night. Highly recommended. Dog friendly too.

Superb pub food with an especially great specials menu which changes regularly. Lovely staff and a proper village pub atmosphere. Being able to walk here from home is one of our greatest joys.

Stumbled on this place by accident and it was a really nice find. Lovely traditional pub with a cosy atmosphere. We all had 3 different ciabatta’s - steak, prawn and bacon and brie and they were absolutely delicious. Really good portion sizes and great value for money.

Lovely old pub. The service was friendly and efficient. Between us we had the turkey crown, pork and vegetarian Sunday Lunch and none of us had any complaints. We'll satisfied.

Lovely village pub in Ludgvan. Good quality food and choice of drinks. Attentive staff even when very busy. There seemed to be predominately tables set out for eating but limited seating for a drink, however we did not see all the facilities so may not have been aware of what else was available. Some outdoor seating was available.
