Absolutely incredible place to be, friendly and inclusive. I’m working away and felt at home, I don’t think I could in reality recommend a better place to spend my evening

I had an unfortunate experience here as a member of staff was homophobic towards my group of friends and I. We attempted to stick up for ourselves against this verbal attack but ended up having to leave as the member of staff left our table and went around the pub, talking to different groups of people, letting them all know that we were "weirdos". She was the one who joined our table and started to talk to us, we made it clear we didn't want to continue the conversation once it got personal, but it kept getting pushed until we were forced to leave. As a homosexual, this is the worst hate crime I have ever received. I have hesitated to leave this review as I got in contact with the pub to explain what happened, but have had no reply; the situation has not been taken seriously. "The Equality Act would establish sex and SOGI protections in public accommodations. This means that businesses open to the public, such as restaurants and pharmacies, would face accountability if they discriminate against, mistreat, or refuse to serve LGBTQ individuals." No accountability has been taken.

Came to town for work and chose this place based on previous reviews. As I stepped inside, I was transported to a beautifully nostalgic time and place. I approached the bar and was immediately greeted with warm smiles and friendly hellos. I ordered a pint of Guinness (my favorite) and was extremely impressed with the taste, temperature, and quality. I will be in town for a few days, and will undoubtedly be coming in again and again while I’m here.

Lovely little pub tucked away in CSP village just past the town roundabout. No food available, but great service and good beer.

My other half was meeting up with some old friends. I stayed for a half a pint then left them to it. It has changed some what (for the better)since my last visit. It's still a popular pub, clean and well presented. I look forward to visiting again.

I'm a regular here. Have been for for 15 years. It has changed and is evolving. Nice atmosphere, always enjoy it.

Horrendously expensive. Half a pint of diet coke was £3.05. I queried it but she said it was right. That's a rip off

Having called to check a particular game was being shown we settled down in front of a nice big screen by the main bar. Chatted to the landlord and confirmed KO time. 20 minutes before the start were then told to watch the game being screened in another part of the bar. Not only was the screen smaller but it was slap bang 3’ behind a pillar!! About 20 punters ended up craning their necks to watch while they showed “You’ve been framed” on the big screen watched by a handful of regulars! A very odd way to handle the majority of people in the pub who were more than willing to spend their hard earned cash! On the good side beer choice was good and the barman was very friendly.

Very low ceiling so I bashed my head a couple of times, on the up side nice beer and while I was there a blues band rocking out. A very enjoyable evening.

OK it's one of the last original pub's left in the county most of them now are Mc donalds of closed we had 6 pub's in our village now we have 2 one has just been done up spent a lot of money on it and run it for a bit then just closed it and never come back prick's

Good location for starters, easy to find. Inside, lovely and traditional, didn't hve any problems finding a table. Food is good, hearty meals. Finally, staff are friendly and welcoming - will be coming back.
