Overall a good pub which serves decent pub food. An honest place with no pretentions to anything other than what it is.

Mine and my lads go to pre-match pub. We love the chicken sharer on a matchday, great beers, top food and great friendly atmosphere

This pub is NOT. dog friendly.. in fact it.s not anything friendly..wk .u be going in again.

First time visit so didn’t know what to expect I can honestly say the food was outstanding we all enjoyed the meals friendly staff on arrival to the table the food was hot I will definatly recommend and most definatly be calling again

Nice Little pub , Food is very nice fairly priced. Can be a bit of a wait at busy times , but you want it cooked right so be prepared to wait if its busy. Staff are warm & friendly. Nice seating area's inside & out. Give it a try if your in the area.

What a lovely place, bar was clean nicely decorated, food lucked great. Staff were really helpful chatty and friendly. Great choice of beers amd drinks. Will 100% be back on my next trip back to Bury

The food is soooo good and the portions are really generous! My mum and I stopped here today for some lunch as I just moved here and had been wanting to try it and neither of us could finish our plate. Really traditional home style chips, pie was lovely, burger was tasty, and we didn't wait long considering it's a Saturday. There is a small car park at the back of it and there's seating outside as well as in, and plenty of TVs for sports, as well as a pool table and dart board. Will definitely go back!

We went there to have some food but we have never been there before. To out dismay they had a problem in the kitchen which is a shame. The interior was really nice clean and very friendly staff we are planning to go again hopefully to dine and if food is good we become pretty regular.

Went for a Birthday meal for my daughter on Sunday. The food was excellent, and so was the service. The staff are all very pleasant. Highly recommend,

We went last Sunday half way through my meal I ended up ill in the bathroom a lot, ended up going home left my wine, I had a Sunday roast with gammon but it didn't taste like it, i was ill for a week Never going there again

Ordered lamb shank with mash, and mixed grill with a medium rare steak. Got 2 hairs with the mixed grill and it was cremated. The lamb shank come with chips, not mash. Complained and didn't even recieve an apology, really dissapointed and they've lost our custom now.

So the pub is shut due to the COVID 19 outback across the country. However, they operate a delivery service for food. Check the menu on Facebook as they cant offer the full menu but they do offer most of it. Had an excellent meal for the wifes 40th yesterday so ordered again tonight for my birthday. Food was excellent and surprisingly still hot when it got to us a good portion size and excellent value for money. Pup food delivered to your door with friendly staff and fantastic speedy service. I would definitely recommend to anyone.

We went to do the speed quiz on Sunday 23rd February, which was advertised on the speed quizzing website. We had also rang earlier in the day to confirm that the quiz would be taking place that night and were informed it would be. We decided to go early and eat at the pub, as it had good reviews. The vegetarian options were very limited, so I chose a cheese and tomato pizza. There were 3 of us eating, the food took a disappointing 40 minutes to arrive, and was average at best. They also got one of our orders wrong, we paid extra for pineapple on the gammon, but this was missed off. The waitress came to collect our plates in total silence, never asking how our meal has been, and failed to respond when we thanked her for taking the empty plates. The quiz was due to start at 7pm, and when there was no sign of it starting by 7.10pm we asked when it would begin. We were told it was not on this week as they had a home darts match. When we said we had called earlier and had been told the quiz was on we were told it must have been the day staff, who must not have known it was cancelled,great communication!! All in all a wasted trip, would not recommend

We moved into the area a couple of weeks ago, so this was our first Sunday lunch visit for a while. The beer was excellent, I had the Hobgoblin Gold on hand pull. We decided after looking at the menu to stay and eat, rather than go home and cook, and we were so glad we did. We both had the Sunday roast. It was fantastic. Hot, plenty of everything and served fairly quickly. It is looking like we will be back in every snday from now on...

This was our first visit to this hotel we have been intending to call in but never got round to it untell now and, what a lovely surprise. The meal was excellent, Very friendly Staff very accommodating nothing was too much.

An out of town pub that was transformed some years ago from a low-key local 'boozer' to the popular & thriving pub it is today. Very busy at times but rather than this being a negative feature, at the White Boar this creates an upbeat & buzzing atmosphere. Seating, in places, is a bit cramped but this simply encourages conversation etc. A homely pub where newcomers are made to feel very welcome. Great beer too.

Come to this place once maybe twice a year to play darts. Should go more often. It's a smart pub with a very decent pint 👍

Lovely inside and at front but car park disgusting. Looks like junk yard. Cigarettes buts everywhere in smoking area. Why supply ashtray if customer's can't but bothered using them. Clean inside but outside needs good brushing up.

Called in here again this week , unfortunately work keeps me from going in more often , food is amazing quality and great value , met my son in here as we was both local with work , he chose the pudding and chips while I had fish and chips Excellent excellent food Change from £20 for the food that would cost double elsewhere Not about the money tho , this is a great pub with the hardest working landlord and landlady I’ve ever seen in a pub , and I’ve been in plenty Excellent friendly staff who all know there jobs Great beer at great prices Other pubs in Bury should copy the model they have at the White Boar As soon as I’m home more this will be my first port of call if I fancy a beer or a meal Home cooking with no washing up Look no further if in this area

Had a Christmas meal last night at the White Boar there were 6 of us the food and service was excellent and great value for money . I would highly recommend the White Boar staff are friendly and helpful we all had a lovely time.

The recent refurbishment looks good but for my taste it's lost a bit of the warmth and friendliness it had before. Real ales not always available and the place gets packed when there's a football match on TV.

First time here for 18 years, I went with my mate Sam and his friends for his birthday and watched the man utd vs spurs game, i felt very welcome and the atmosphere was friendly, I highly recommend.

I live locally to this pub but have never eaten here... I am kicking myself for not eating here sooner. The staff were lovely, really friendly and the food was brilliant... Hot, tasty and well presented... I visited with my parents who really enjoyed the atmosphere and food. Will definitely be visiting again. Thank you

After moving to the local area my partner and I decided to check out the local pubs and eateries. We decided to have a few drinks and bit of food at the White Boar. The place itself is warm and friendly and giving a sense that it’s visited by locals who couldn’t make us feel more welcome. The food and drinks we ordered was spot on and I couldn’t find any fault. Certainly will be returning soon ....

Really good food and really good real ale

Updated decor nice enough food and drinks, great toilets. Staff could be friendlier. Local pub hence the visit will go again but little improvements could be made.

A pub that does a great mug of tea-we like this! Simple, varied and tasty menu to chose from, including a good specials board. Great value for money, and the service is happy, friendly and quick. Loads of seating, including outside, where dogs are welcome-great. Thanks.

My wife and i decided to call in on our way back from Bury. The pub has had a great makeover, and the landlord keeps a good cellar. We had a lovely meal in comfortable surrounding. The landlord was friendly and welcoming and we enjoyed the afternoon. Will hopefully be back soon.
