Cosalea Walshaw in Bury

Been on a course upstairs and used the cafe for lunch. The food was delicious, presented well and was super fresh. The team here are lovely! Great coffee, ice cream and cakes. Defo would recommend and look forward to coming back.

My wife and I visited Cosalea for lunch yesterday after a session at the Stables Leisure Club next door (yes, I know......temptation!). My wife had the home made cheese and onion pie and I opted for the Cosalea stack - basically a double burger with bacon and cheese. Service was friendly and very efficient, very impressed with the gent who came and politely explained that the paprika fries to accompany my burger were not available, would chunky chips be OK? Food arrived piping hot and beautifully presented, the size of the wedge of pie had to be seen to be believed. Likewise the burger. Needless to say we couldn't eat all of the chunky chips but we really enjoyed our lunch. We will definitely return, great value for money and the place is lovely and clean - thanks to the chef and a great team for a first class experience. Highly recommended.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would!! Had my mums 70th there 24 of us but food was absolutely amazing 🤩 everyone was served in an amazing time and no one left waiting! Staff was amazing nothing was too much trouble!! Everybody had an amazing time thanks to everyone there

Food fantastic, service fantastic, but I seen the chef sneeze in his hands and wipe it on his top , didn’t even wash his hands; I had to just leave my breakfast, I couldn’t eat it

I went to Cosalea today and had the Sunday roast and I will 100% be coming back here, it’s one of the nicest roasts I’ve ever had I cannot recommend this place enough.

Best sausages great full English coffee beans are lovely great look too the place also the girls were lovely and helpfull hats off to the chef

We arrived for lunch. The young woman behind the counter was busy on the computer screen and didn't bother to look up but nodded to the pile of menus and said she'd be with us in a minute. We picked up a menu and sat down at an empty table only to find the table dirty with food remains and a pile of dirty crockery on the neighbouring table. We left.

Welcoming smiles from staff on arrival to our brunch booking at 11am Arrived a little late due to local traffic issues, but the staff were understanding Order taken unhurried giving us both time to look around and get equainted with the menu. Excellent coffee enjoyed with the avocado poached eggs on chilli jam covered sourdough. 😋😋 Further two coffees later, with a delightful portion of tiffin, we left with a definite plan to return to this delightful cafe 😀

Cosalea, a cafe-style mix of gourmet food and a tiki-style bar, has almost all the attributes of a really nice local place to go and have lunch. The staff there are nice and friendly, the style is modern and clean, the food and drink are presented restaurant-like. What let it down a whole bunch was the poor service. Not let down by the service staff who are lovely, eager to make sure you're comfortable, and quick to bring you a drink of your choice urgently. When it came to food, however, I can only add to the common thread in a lot these other reviews: the hour wait for even the simplest of dishes and the 'soon' you hear for it coming out imminentl.. You have to wonder if the chef is cooking them one at a time... Add on that the meal, despite its presentation, was fairly uninspiring at the best; it robbed me of any excitement I had. This experience has put off making this place one of our weekend lunch spots, and though it's worth a visit if you aren't massively hungry or just fancy a coffee for a nice local place to be, if you're expecting anything more serious you may leave disappointed.

This is my first time to go there. The staff are very nice. They are very helpful and the food was delicious!! High recommened!

Lovely food, nice place to relax and catch up with friends, service wasn't at its best, younger staff busy on their phones and chatting to each other, our finished plates were left on the table for far too long and it took a while to get staffs attention to get our order taken and to get the bill.

our food was very over cooked, dry bacon,sausages,balck pudding and the toast was burnt, Scrambled eggs had been over cooked and stuck to the pan. All in all very poor food for such a lovely venue.

Arrived at 9am for breakfast, but for some reason they don't start serving food until 9.30am! Not a problem because I wasn't in a rush, so had a lovely americano with milk. Ordered the 'Big Breakfast', oh dear! Inedible bacon cooked to death, tasteless sausages, half a small tomato, one mushroom and no black pudding, we're in Bury!Scrambled egg and beans nice but white bread stale. Second americano was watery and tasteless. I wasn't asked if everything was ok with my breakfast and just couldn't be bothered to complain. 12 quid for a breakfast and almost 4 quid for a coffee. Needs to be much better quality. My car was in for a service nearby, that's why I happened on this place. Sorry, but I won't be back.

Me and family came in for breakfast and all I can say is wow! Everyone was impressed with their choice of food and staff were amazing, they couldn’t do enough. We will definitely be back very soon!

Not enough staff to cope with large groups and not knowing who ordered what when bringing food out

Just had a wonderful couple of hours with 4 other friends (3 who'd never been before). We all had different food and drinks and we were all very pleased with what we ordered. The staff are so friendly and nothing is too much bother. I'd definitely highly recommend Cosalea for just a light lunch, coffee or an evening meal. All 5 of us will definitely be back. Oh and the cheese and onion pie is delicious.

Massive price increases overnight. Was £25 for Tapas Thursday. Now £35! Employee having a meal with her family on next table whilst also talking business were very noisy and seemed oblivious to us as customers. Like it was her personnal venue for the night. Won't return

Food was great, up to the usual high standard. The staff were overstretched so the service wasn’t quite as good as normal. Overall a great experience, our favourite place to go for a daytime meal in the Bury area.

Came today for my birthday lunch and even after booking a table the day before ended up on the high chairs stuffed in the corner, waited an hour for the food then when it came my chips were Luke warm and the fish was completely tasteless and batter soggy as were my son's also some of my son's chips were under cooked, hate to complain but as my birthday lunch was so disappointed ☹️

Food was good, but we waited 1.20 hour fof our food , everyone seemed to be waiting ages for their food. They had to give free drinks to compensate .

This is a great little gem of a place tucked away in Walshaw. Fantastic roast dinner, great service. It has a really good menu, and the food was superb. We had the lamb roast which was such a treat. Delicious food, large portions. We wanted to eat at 3pm, and this was no problem. Super pleased.

They need to be honest what they have and what they dont have, dont fool your customer so we can go back. I also suggest put some Ketchup, Mayo, on the table so we will not ask for it while we are eating.

Friendly staff, we had scone with clotted cream and jam with drinks which was lovely. We intend to visit again.

Looking for a place for lunch which also had convenient parking, we chose Cosalea. The young lady behind the counter cafe us two copies of the menu and explained the specials on the board. She directed us to seat wherever we pleased. After having enough time to explore every option on the menu twice, my collogue went to the counter assuming that must be the way to order, apparently not. After a further two reviews of the menu the waitress came to take out order, Having had an inordinate about of time to make our minds up, I had firmly decided on a dish I would not get at home in Seattle. Only to learn that one of the ingredients had not yet been delivered, fortunately having had time to study the menu so thoroughly, I proposed a substitute from one of the other dishes. When the meal arrived it was missing one of the other key ingredients. When questioned I was informed that that ingredient came with the other missing ingredient. One being a meat and the other being a vegetable, onion, I expressed my disbelief, only to have the waitress go back to the kitchen and return to tell me they were out of stock. Caramelized onions being missing changed the whole nature of the dish, being told the Caramelized onions came with the Cumberland sausage from the butchers, was ridiculous, and then to say you were out of stock of onions rather than to take the time to caramelize some and reheat the dish, may have saved you time, but lost you a customer and showed your true colors.

Rude staff, Disgusting food, unacceptable waiting times and immensely unhygienic kitchen staff. Do not recommend at all!!!!!

We had Coaslea cater for a 21st at another venue. They were friendly and easy to deal with, and suggested alternative items when asked. The food was very tasty with quality ingredients and generous portions.

Our first time here but will definitely be back! Food was tasty and the service was great despite it being a busy Saturday morning.

Had a fabulous catch up with 6 of the ladies from the Made in Bury Brunch Club yesterday at Cosalea. One of my favorite places to eat (and drink) in Bury. The staff are exceptionally friendly and really welcoming and the food is simply amazing. Great menu, freezing cold Prosecco and although I didn't take my pooch yesterday, they are Dog Friendly too. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

went 12 months ago and it was really nice. This time i ordered an omellette which was dry. They then charged me £2 per glass of soda water, which is outrageous! Especially for a cafe. its in Bury not manchester city centre!!

The waitress was quick to take order, I asked for my breakfast to be cooked lightly not well done ,we waited along time for it to come which is fine if it's good when it arrives but it wasn't hard egg and bacon I think it was served like that to everyone ,the waiter asked if everything was ok I explained and he said he would do another egg but by that time we were hungry and half way through the meal,it was supposed to be a large breakfast £1150 over priced for what I got,my partner ordered scrambled egg on toast which was cold and eggs over cooked and resembled sawdust ,needless to say we won't return.

I've been to Cosalea numerous times over the past year for meals in the restaurant and also event nights in the Vault. Everytime the food has been delicious and service has excellent. Would not hesitate recommending Cosalea for a few drinks, a larger meal or big event!

My partner and I love coming here. The atmosphere is so friendly instantly when you walk in, the customer service is amazing and everyone always has a smile on there face. We got greeted by a lovely lady called Bev who served us this day she was amazing and loved a chat and was very friendly, she got everything we asked for and there were absolutely no complaints at all, the other staff there seemed so lovey aswell. The food was very nice and is always worth it.

Tasty Steak Platter to share Steak cooked to perfection, onion rings in crispy batter. Dessert Homemade Lemon Meringue served with fresh cream. Staff was helpful and the atmosphere was just right.

I have been to Cosalea before and really enjoyed it, however on this occasion I was really disappointed. We had booked a table and highlighted that we would need a high chair as we had my daughter with us, upon arrival we were told we could not have a high chair due to a party having them all. Luckily my daughter could still reach the table sat in a normal chair so it wasn’t a massive issue, but there was another table also waiting for a high chair for a small baby. I ordered a club sandwich, it came with no crisps. I had to ask the person serving us if I could have my crisps. Then the actual club sandwich itself was just awful, the chicken tasted days old and was grey and it actually made me feel sick. Another member of staff informed us that the chicken was made that day, however by this point I had completely lost my appetite and chose not to re-order anything. I don’t think we will be returning after this visit unfortunately.

First time here and we really enjoyed it. The food was gorgeous, it did take a while to arrive though but was worth the wait.

Went there for lunch, and enjoyed it so much we went back again the week after.. Its a lovely place with a great atmosphere. It has a licensed bar too, and quite an extensive menu. We really enjoyed the food and the service was excellent. Definitely recommend.

Called in for brunch with some friends visiting the area. Advised there would be a 30 minute wait but didn’t matter. Gave us chance to catch up. When the food came, piping hot and top quality. Totally recommend for a visit. Lovely staff too.

Lovely menu, nice staff. If I can find any criticisms it’s that it was slightly cold, although in mitigation it was early on a chilly day.

One of the best Sunday roasts we have ever had, and we love a Sunday roast. Fresh, tasty, meat succulent, veg done to a t and wow the gravy was brilliant.

We went with a party of 9. One of the group never received their main course and had to wait until we'd nearly finished ours, though they did give a free drink on the house. My son ordered steak (medium rare that came medium) with peppercorn sauce. It wasn't peppercorn sauce but gravy! I told him to complain but he was reluctant to do so. My battered fish was nicely cooked but the batter was overcooked and the plate was too small for the dish. The service was poor, even though it was not very busy! The unattentive service meant that they brought the dessert menu over and 15 minutes later nobody came to ask if we wanted anything. This, coupled with steep prices for food and drink, means I won't be returning.
