This was an out of the blue invite to have Sunday lunch with my son, I haven't been to The Wheel in years but I've just devoured the most tastiest roast beef dinner I've had in ages, with a mouth watering biscoff cheesecake to finish. Absolute heaven. Will definitely be returning.

Went for Sunday lunch as party of 6 to celebrate a 50th birthday. We chose this place as it had a good online menu (under sunday lunch) with about 5 vegetarian options. On arrival no staff around. When they arrived and were told we had a booking we were told " just sit anywhere" without taking a name. (both bar and restaurant were empty) We asked for a menu and were told "you don't need one it's only a roast" we queried the vegetarian options and were told (they can have veg and potatoes !!!!) The staff member did mutter that she would ask the chef but hadn't returned in 5 minutes. We left very disappointed and hungry.

We ordered white bait and garlic mushrooms to start. Very tasty. Steaks and lasagne for mains. Plenty of it. Steaks weren’t medium rare more like medium well but were still nice. Good to have the option of a jacket potato as alternative to chips. Reasonably priced and friendly staff. Dog friendly in the bar. Worth a visit if you are in the area.

We booked a table for 2 for last serving at 2.45 of Sunday roast for my birthday dinner. Quiet until a group came in. The food looked well but the beef, potatoes & y pub were luke warm. It tasted lovely tho & I cleared the plate. Felt the owners could have been a bit more upbeat & person centred given it was my birthday -and someone else’s in the other large group. They were too late for dinner & I feel the pub owners missed a trick as they could have attempted to accommodate them a bit more too. No room f pud as was stuffed..!

This was one of the worst meals I’ve had. A meal in a chain pub would have been better, which is so disappointing when you try and support local businesses. - 2 menus provided for 5 people - the restaurant was completely empty, yet we were not offered more menus (a family tried to get a table, but told a 45 minute wait) - the starters arrived cold and uncooked - the mains (burgers) were hard and inedible, again luke warm, with a hard bu - the reviews all rave about this place, they must either be made up or there’s been a change in circumstances. I would have complained, but this couldn’t have been rectified. I just wanted to leave and eat a sandwich at home! One positive thing was the music playlist!

Call in for Sunday lunch after being once before about 2+ years ago. Did not disappoint, we were the last booking of the service but still got an excellent meal. Roast Beef & Turkey excellent, Roast, New & Mash Potatoes I would have done with new and more mash but no complaint I just like my mash. 5 veg all nice and cooked through. Dessert Lemon sponge & custard & a tiramisu sundae. Takes a lot to fill my son and he was full, as was the reason for a new visit and it was last time. Plus he said best int of Guinness he's ever had. Keep it up I'm not tell anyone as don't want you getting to busy :)

Stopped in here for Sunday lunch and wished we hadn't bothered. I had lamb shank and husband had beef. The meats were ok but vegetables were almost raw I couldnt even cut through the carrots. The Yorkshire was alright but not very warm. I then made a big mistake by ordering my favourite sticky toffee pudding & custard. I was served with a cold thick blancmange substance on top of the worst sticky toffee pudding I have ever tasted. It was hard and old tasting and left the whole thing. Couldn't wait to get out of there and would not recommend it to anyone. Didn't even stay long enough to take a photo.

We stayed in the cottage in the “car park”. Only for the weekend but it was excellent. Ate in the pub both Saturday and Sunday. The Roast dinners were enormous and delicious. I had the lamb shank cooked in red wine and my husband the pork. Dogs allowed in the bar where we ate, although there is also a restaurant. Real ales including Doom bar (my favourite) Very friendly and felt so safe as COVID measures were met. As it was my first time out in five months I was a bit nervous but nothing to worry about. Lola was made to feel welcome with bowls of water and even snippets of meat from the chef. The cottage was perfect with lovely bathroom with en-suite shower and full kitchen (which we only used to make coffee as ate in the pub. TV in both the lounge and bedroom. The cottage was quiet and comfortable despite being next to the pub. Only 15 mins from the lovely sandy beaches which are dog friendly and we will definitely return

My husband and I were lucky enough to be staying in Welton Le Marsh for a well earned rest after dealing with the throes of COVID-19.Whilst staying in the village, we frequented The Wheel Inn on three occasions and are really glad that we did!Our first visit was in the week that pubs had first opened after lockdown and so it was all a bit strange for everyone but from the minute we stepped in the door we were made to feel very welcome by Nick & Sue (landlord & landlady). Good steps have been taken to ensure that the pub is clean and comfortable while keeping everyone safe. It was nice that everyone had an interest in where we had travelled through the day and were able to offer ideas of places to visit in the local area.We ate in the restaurant one evening and as well as being a great friendly guy, the chef also filled our bellies to bursting. The locals too were really lovely and we just came away feeling like we'd been really looked after.

Having booked in advance, 7 of us met for our weekly Sunday Lunch and this week we were at The Wheel, we were greeted by very friendly staff and when everyone arrived we went into the Restaurant, it was lovely and welcoming, there were another large party too and a few others at other tables but everyone was served with politeness and very efficiently. We had a lady in the group who was Gluten, fructose and lactose free but they catered for her very well, even she was impressed, food came piping hot and veggies came in separate dishes (more than enough and plenty of different veg to cater for all tastes) gravy was beautiful with a lovely taste too nothing was too much trouble and they even brought more veg when we asked, this is a definite for us to return in the near future and maybe a trip to try the lunchtime menu too. Desserts were excellent and plenty of choice finishing with coffee after an excellent afternoon out for us all on a very wet Sunday afternoon, this is a MUST if you are travelling this way, tucked in a little village you will NOT be disappointed. Had a delicious meal tonight. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The Mac and Cheese is fantastic, with 5 different cheese's used- the best ever tasted!! The chips are home made and really lovely as is the side salad.Good selection of ales etc. You can sit in the restaurant or bar. They even have a pool table and BT sports. Well worth a visit.

I called in here one Friday afternoon while out on my motorbike and was not disappointed. The bar staff were welcoming and I was impressed by the large selection of local ales that was offered. Unfortunately, I couldn't sample them, but will definitely be returning in the near future to try them out.

Popped in on the way back from a (rather cold) day at the coast. Sunday lunch was just what we needed and theirs totally hit the spot. Home from home food, even my fussy daughter almost cleared her plate. Very welcoming staff who served us and relaxed warm feel. Would definitely call again if in the area.

Unfortunately, the Dunes Complex is definitely not wheelchair friendly. There are disabled parking spaces in the car park. However, they were all taken, and some didn't have Blue Badges visible. Once in the Dunes Complex, there are 2 more ramps to consider, the 1st one is quite steep, and the 2nd one is less of a hassle. If a wheelchair user or someone who has mobility difficulties wanted to get to the stage, they would have to ask staff for a further ramp. To get onto the stage itself, well, there are narrow corridors that a wheelchair does not fit through, and there are no handles or any form of mobility aid.

Staying in Aby village for a week's holiday and had to try the local pub. Exterior looks a bit "tired" but don't be put off - inside it's friendly. cosy and lots of character. Excellent choices of dishes on the menu and "daily specials" board - we especially appreciated the choice of gluten-free options and Dawn was happy to go through each option in detail. Good portions and served hot! Very tasty and wholesome. Wide range of dessert options too and it was evident from conversations with other diners, that Dawn would also be happy to adapt these just to suit individual requirements. Obviously very deserving of the many awards over many years.

I ordered a Sunday roast delivery from here and it went in the bin as soon as it arrived! Everything was burnt to a crisp and absolutely disgusting, I would not recommend eating here at all! I've heard from a few people how awful the food has been there for a while now but thought we'd give it a go for ourselves. Avoid at all costs and don't waste your money here!
