Lovely traditional Sunday roast lunch. A number of choices of meat, I had roast rump of beef which was cooked medium and very tasty. A selection of veg, roast potatoes, stuffing and yorkshire pudding. A portion of pigs in blankets on the side and lovely jug of gravy. Apple crumble to follow. Reasonable prices and great service. Has been recently taken over and had some refurb, lots of car parking and good size garden for alfresco dining, or just a pint of cider in the sun.. Will definitely go again, thanks.

Didn't stay in their rooms as we were just passing by for some food with the kids. Home style meals all seem to be homemade. Friendly atmosphere and live music on.

Me and my partner decided to go here for a meal to celebrate our anniversary, we don’t get to do this too often and was left really disappointed. The server with short, blonde hair made us feel like we was a burden to her.. we sat outside as we have three dogs and try to be considerate of that, but was told that starters aren’t supposed to be served outside (even though we were told this is fine when ordering) she was just very abrupt and rude, made us feel like we were a problem to her just because she had to take our meal outside. Overall we felt very unwelcome and the service was abysmal…

A lovely pub in an idealic place. The outdoor seating is plentiful and it's dog friendly. My husband and I had some food which was absolutely fantastic. Very good portions, I had thr burger which was really good, I didn't want it to end. The coleslaw is homemade which I couldn't get enough of. The staff are responsive, knowledgeable of their products and so polite. Highly recommended thus lovely place.

The pizza was decent, but the burger I ordered was bland and dry ( I don't eat mayonnaise or ketchup. No other sauce alternatives were offered.)

Great little pub/restaurant. Menu was really nice and was a god send that all items on the menu could be adjusted and made gluten free and it wasnt a quick it comes gluten free already they actually make it from scratch so true homemade meals. Was such a delight for my fiance as she is celiac. Service was really good and they were so helpful can not recommend more. Will be visiting again soon.

Visited for an early evening Sunday lunch. Friendly service at what seemed to be a very quiet time, only few tables eating. Brilliant for my gluten free husband to be able to have all the trimmings, and a gluten free beer! Friendly and accommodating to our 1 year old, who enjoyed trying a small roast as part of their current Kids Eat Free. The prices were really quite high for a roast, far exceeding what I'd call normal (we live in Cambridge, were on holiday) but perhaps that's a reflection of the area. We would certainly return for the extensive GF choices, but I wouldn't rush to pay those prices for a roast again. We sadly didn't have time to sample puddings.

Booked this pub last minute as we were trying to find a decent pub selling good old pub food for a reasonable price. We were so impressed with the Thursday evenings dinner that we booked again for the Friday 🤣. If you want decent pub food with decent portions at a decent price with lovely, friendly efficient service then please visit the Wheatsheaf, you will not be disappointed. Thank you guys for the best two pub meals I have had for years 👍🏻👍🏻

This is such a wonderful place. A beautiful setting and such welcoming and friendly owners. They let us shelter from the rain while we camping nearby and also heated up our baby’s food. The main meals are exceptionally good quality - clearly made by someone who cares and knows what they are doing. Best pub food I’ve had in a very long time. I wish we were staying tor longer and could go back to enjoy the lovely looking beer garden if it ever stops raining!

Gluten free experience! Only visited for afternoon meal. Can't give high enough praise, environment, service, food and toilets were of the highest standard. Almost everything on menu can be served gluten free, I had gluten free fish, chips and mushy peas with tartare sauce soooooo good. They even offer a gluten free steak and ale pie but if this is your choice give them a ring the day before you visit. Our dogs were even given a warm welcome.

We had a lovely cosy lunch here with our girls. The kids had a massive portion of chicken breast bites with chips each followed by a huge serving of ice-cream. We had amazing venison pies with mash, veg and the best gravy we've had in a while. Our dog managed to snag a load of treats and a lot of fuss too. Definitely want to come back for a Sunday roast. The phone line was down so we managed to book via their Facebook page.

Four of us, one a Grandchild, decided to try this eatery and we were very disappointed. The crispy chicken was overdone, close to burnt. The coleslaw was limp and did not have a great taste. All this for, I believe, a high price. Our Grandchilds meal consisted of chicken pieces and chips for £10. No peas, no anything else. A bit pricey we thought. No one came to ask if the meal was OK - probably a good job! Should have sent most of it back but like so many places, replacements take time and then you all eat out of sync Overall a very ordinary and disappointing meal Wr will not be going back and I am sure those who read this review can find some better quality at the prices elsewhere.

The waiter was pleasant, not sure why, working in such a cold hard atmosphere. Now, the food, carvery, well, ummmm, Grumpy man serving, but in fairness, think he is like that with everyone. Did however seem more friendly with locals. The meat was ok, but cold, also veg were dry and cold. Yourshire pub cold and not cooked through. At least the gravy was hot. As I was eating they did top up the vets, but didn't empty the old lot out. Would I go again, NO. I had read the reviews , but thought, no, it can't be that bad. But hey ho. It was. It's a shame, tho, could be really good.
