We went on a Wednesday just a few in there, we all had starters and sweets food was lovely. Good valve. Friendly owners.

Have been here with my brother in law, quite a few times over the past few years. Extremely friendly and attentive owners and wonderful food. Would highly recommend.

Stopped by here as was local and what a little gem. Was very quiet but the food was delicious! Would travel the 1hr 20 again just to eat there.

Family owned for years Host excellent takes interest in all customers once you have been you will return like us many times with friends warning it is advisable to book to ensure a table. Menus large and various. Very seldom do we recommend venues as everyone has different views but we have been so often and never had a complaint we felt happy to share the good news of a genuine value for money venue.

Had food off the Sunday snack menu , was spot on sat outside in the sun , shame its on busy road , definitely going back for a roast , thank you

My wife & I had lunch at the wheatsheaf today & I must say that the food was exceptional. Everything at the establishment was really clean & tidy & the service was very good & great that it is a free house, not a chain.

Can't say much as just stopped for a half, but it was completely dead. Inside just felt a bit stale and all the main outdoor seating was on a busy main road. Went round the back to the rear beer garden and this only had a couple of benches - which would've been much nicer to sit at, but the back door was locked and there were no umbrellas etc on the tables so looked like you weren't supposed to be there. The half I did had tasted like it was form a glass with washing liquid not rinsed off so tasted horrible. Barman was friendly though hence the 'ok' review.

It was fine for a Sunday lunch, plenty of food and inexpensive. Returned the following Saturday for a lunch and drink. Could not open a tab if sat outside.

Really lovely, small restaurant with excellent food. The tuna steak was perfectly cooked. The crumble was delicious - not too sweet. Highly recommended

What a fantastic village pub, offering great food and a nice relaxing atmosphere. Very reasonable prices, for generous portions of well prepared and well presented non overcomplicated food, not easy to find these days, also a good pint at reasonably fair rates. Pubs like this should be supported more, or we run the risk of them disappearing, they are at the heart of local communities. The staff are very helpful, they will chat if you want to, or just let you relax, definitely a jewel in this lovely village.

What an absolute gem. I was staying in Cirencester for a few days and found this lovely pub on the way back in the evening. I called in for a bar meal. The host was the perfect mix of friendly and attentive, but kept a pleasant distance whilst his patrons were dining. The food was gorgeous. Such a treat. Reasonably priced for such a wonderful meal. Thank you so very much. If I lived closer I would visit all the time.

This was first visit, planned for break in travelling. Being first time looked for reviews and visited their website for info & menus. The visit was a very pleasant time. Friendly staff, Covid guidelines were still being followed which we were happy with to comply with. Service was attentive without being intrusive. We enjoyed our meal and the coffee was good and finished a very pleasant time. Would I book again if going by would certainly plan this place to stop on my route.

Special on fish and chips (£9.50) on certain days up till 7.30pm. very nice and freshly cooked. A small selection of real ales and pleasant service. Kept nice and warm when we visited on a cold, wet evening in February.

Always a really good meal , home cooked and hot Good choice of desserts , again they are home made . Pleasant landlord and staff . Happy to go to Sunday lunch every week !

Great local pub, landlord been there for 21 years, and very welcoming. Good pub food at very good prices; steak baguette with mushrooms and chips just £9.50.

Home cooked food, good menu, pleasant service, and a quiet pub. Not a great view, as the outside tables face a busy road. Home cooking was wholesome and seemed to use locally sourced ingredients, including gooseberries from the landlords garden!

Second time of eating lunch here and was such good food. The cod was so soft and white for our main. Must try something else as food that came out for others looked very nice indeed. A nice bright clean country pub with easy safe parking around the rear. Definitely go again.

This is a country pub run by an enthusiastic landlord. Polite staff, value for money and a 'welcome' feeling. I would recommend its excellent menu. Proper, honest pub fare at a sensible price. When I am in the area it's my venue of choice.

Stopped for lunch on the way back to London. Fantastic food in a lovely setting. Little miss had fish and chips which was very tasty, and my wife and I had the cote de boeuf with both the truffle butter and peppercorn sauce, which was perfectly cooked and really delicious. Service was friendly and accommodating. Would definitely recommend.

Lunch with my parents as a birthday treat was gorgeous! Mushrooms and bacon on toast that my dad had as a starter was legendary and the main courses were delicious! Not usually a pudding girl but shared a butterscotch ice cream Sunday with my mum. Lovely! Owner was very friendly and welcoming and we are definitely planning a return with the rest of my family 😁

Fantastic, small, country pub. The food is delicious and couldn't decide which dessert to have so I'll be coming back again to try all of them. Good value for money, lovely beers and lagers on tap and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Definitely worth a visit!!
