Dreadful pub. AVOID. Awful bar staff - no customer service and toilets are a hovel ! Far better pubs in the area. Do yourself. Favour and try any other pub !

Wanted to come in for a drink during the Euros. I’m 20 years old, the barmaid took my ID and said it was fake. I showed her my bank card, uni ID, picture of my passport, and pub groupchat to prove otherwise. I asked to see the landlady and she was incredibly rude and hostile, she claimed that i was “all over pub groupchats” and my “name, face, and ID” was spread around and that nobody would let me in anywhere. I knew this wasn’t true as I’d never lent anyone my ID in my life so was impossible for any of this to have ever happened. She refused to give it back and said even if I brought her my passport I couldn’t have it. I left and asked a few other pub bouncers if this information was true. They said that all that’s happened is an image of another blonde girl had gone around to the pubs to say she was using fake IDs, but she “didn’t really look like” me. So I found some police officers and explained the situation, they went and got my drivers licence back for me 1 hour later and thought the situation was ridiculous. Terrible, unprofessional, rude pub and safe to say wont be going near it ever again. Spoiled my night for no reason. Disgusting.

Came for Mother’s Day with the family. Food was great value for money and plentiful. The team were really attentive and couldn’t do enough. Would highly recommend. Will definitely be back again.

So I was trying to find a venue for my boyfriends 40th birthday and was very lucky to find this place. I immediately felt the stress of planning a party lift! We ordered food for 15 but there was so much and it lasted us for days after. They catered for everyone with vegetarians and vegan choices and it was all lovely. We had a great size area with a toilet and a private side of the bar. They also provided us with their resident DJ Charlie who was fantastic and played all the genres we asked for and had everyone dancing. Can’t recommend enough! Will definitely book another event here!

Absolutely love this place, it’s close enough to the town centre but is nice and quiet surrounding. Perfect for a post train journey drink too! I came with a group of girls and we were treated so nicely to a gorgeous buffet, the drinks were reasonably priced (particularly Gins… they have deals on) and the pool tables are fab. Didn’t get a chance to go in the garden area but will definitely take a look next time!

Went for some beers and the footy. Warm welcome and proper C19 procedures. Decent beer, the staff were on their game and we enjoyed a few pints while watching the football. Will be back.

How can a pub that has a Shisha area and has numerous clients of all race colour and creed be racist. These kind of reviews can be damaging to a business long term and can in extreme circumstances cause redundancies or worse. The Wheatsheaf has always been welcoming to all and in the decade I've been going in there I have never seen one incident to contradict that. You may have had a bad experience with a member of staff but saying it's racist is very naive and spiteful.

Glasses are always dirty in this place... worst experience ever, there was dirty lipstick all around my wine glass. I think they get so busy that they just empty wine glasses and not wash them. Absolutely disgusting

I've wanted to go to this pub for ages. The reason being it was Keith flints pub. I was absolutely made up that I've photos of me outside which I'll frame. I do live far away so this has made my year being a big fan. I went inside and it was not what I expected. To be honest it has some nice charm to it. A real nice country pub. Prices are reasonable and the bar staff very friendly. I would recommend and would love to go back again.

Friendly staff, too small for the size of hospital & the menu needs a look at. I felt visiting family at the hospital for a week, meant the menu was too much of the same type of food. Aside from this, meals were available from Marks&Spencer but there was no where to heat them up.
