Not really a nice hotel. The room was really hot which did not make for a comfortable night. Our view was a stone wall. I find the carpet old and lumpy and does not give a clean feeling. The chair in the room also had a blood stain on it, which is really disgusting. The breakfast is very cheap, the plates are so small that only 1 croissant fits on them.

No air conditioning, no electrical outlets near the bed. No elevator service. Room like an oven baking you at about 90°.

Staff and food were excellent although the building looks a bit "tired" in places but this does not detract from the overall experience.

The staff are the stars of the show. Extremely friendly and attentive, particularly the Italian gentleman - he is an asset to Premier Inn. I have stayed at this hotel a few times for work and have always had a great service. Well done to the team here!!

Only stopped for a continental breakfast. It was a mediocre offer, but just a base and the necessary coffee.

Will not be in a hurry to return to this one! Having stayed at many Premier Inns, this one you can tell feels old, tired and this is reflected in the experience when you stay. The room I was issued, was I believe previously one of the accessible rooms - you could see the poor cover up job of hole filling in the bathroom, low sink and bathroom fixtures and sliding bathroom door - not an issue if done to a high standard, but literally looks like it was done in a hurry. The pressure from the shower head was non existent, as was the ability to stand underneath it, so showering was less than ideal. There was no plug sockets near the bed, so using a phone charger or in my case, a cpap machine was impossible - even your most basic B&B generally has a plug socket by the bed! The TV remote was disgustingly dirty, you could tell it hadn't even had a wipe over during room changeover. For some reason, I'm guessing they assume that if you make the room dark, you won't notice the quality of the room, as you'll see from the pics, that is how bright the room is with every light on! Good luck finding something if you should drop it on the floor. Sadly no air conditioning fitted to this hotel, a fan is provided as are windows which open a safe amount to allow a gentle breeze in - sadly, what comes with that is the fumes from the car park below, the A12 and the fuelling station opposite - maybe retrofitting air con wouldn't be a bad idea. I got an awful night's sleep due to what sounded like elephants on the floor above, very loud conversations externally which sounded like it was staff due to topics discussed but can't confirm and the room was just too warm, despite the fan and window. It might be the cheapest in the area, but know that it comes with a caveat - cheap not cheerful! Normally I've nothing but praise for a Premier Inn but sadly not on this occasion.

Exactly what you’d expect from a Premier Inn. Could do with a little updating in places. The parking costs £5 for 24 hours.

Booked this hotel for £35 a night. Felt dubious about what condition it would be in for such a cheap price but when we arrived we couldn't fault it. Everything was clean, tidy and very quiet. Would happily stay here again

Lovely hotel, basic, but it is a Premier Inn, it is however lovely and clean. We were greeted well when we checked in, staff lovely and friendly, and went out of their way for us to have a meal in the evening one night, the only thing against is the all you can eat breakfast, it's not a buffet breakfast, you have to order it at the table, so if you are a hungry Horace I'm not sure how that would work when it's busy, having to order breakfast each time, it must however cut down on waste, I will say though breakfast was very good, we also tried the restaurant in the evenings, very nice quality. Very good parking at 5 pound per day, close to Large Sainsburys and a couple of snack eateries. Would we stay in this one again? 200 per cent, premier inn your staff do you credit.

Very tired, like most of the PI estate. More and more hidden charges less inward investment.

Not the best experience here as felt pressured into buying things as there were two employees who kept telling me to buy things and how they were so much better than Costa. The muffins were not so nice and tasted stale, plus it was quite expensive for what it was. I will not be going here again but maybe other people have had a better experience here! Wish them the best!

I just went to Popeye's in Chelmsford, I ordered a 3 piece meal. I didn't get one piece of breast and I actually got a wing as one of the pieces. KFC always seems to give 1 breast and never a wing as a piece of chicken

Been getting take away for years from here. Honestly have never been disappointed. We find it super tasty and always a high standard! Our favourites are the chicken in satay sauce, broccoli with sesame, seaweed, veg chow mein and sweet and sour chicken.
