Tasty Chinese in Chelmsford

Ordered a Chinese from here tonight and enjoyed it so much we felt it needed a review which I've never done for a takeaway before. We have ordered from tasty in the past and various others in Chelmsford trying to find the best one. Last time was good but this time was delicious and fresh. Really good standard of takeaway.

Ordered from here as saw recommendations and wasn't disappointed. The food was delicious and the portions were good. The delivery came quickly and the delivery guy was friendly. We'll definitely order again. The noodles were absolutely fantastic with loads of fresh veg and meat/prawns.

We ordered from here for the first time and we were so impressed. The food was plentiful and everything was delicious. We got a free portion of prawn crackers which was nice. Really good value for such good food. We had hors d'oeuvres, 2 mains and 2 noodles/rice between 3 of us and there was plenty with leftovers.

Just had Chinese from Tasty Chinese Chelmsford. It was really bad tasteless oily and slimy won’t be using them again 😩very disappointing

Delicious lemon chicken and special fried rice. Prawn crackers and chopsticks supplied for free. Would definitely recommend

Best Chinese takeaway in Chelmsford

They are closed at 11pm Friday. Terrible. This is when we want their food, what do they think???

Had the set menu for 1. Chicken balls. Rice and changed the beef with mushroom for beef curry. Very nice food. Lovely batter on the balls. A lot of food for the money. Thankyou

We ordered takeaway, ordered vegetarian pancake rolls but they contained prawns and chicken, shame as this was only our second time trying this place and the first experience had issues as well.

Although the food was excellent the service was very poor. We booked s table for 15 and wated 2 hours for the mains to be served then 1 hour for our bill to be sorted. Manager wasn't really nice either. Shame as the food I'd very very nice, thanks chefs.

This place is always my go to if im craving Chinese food always clean food never greasy great quality ingredients. The best around and quick delivery

Ask for seedweed full off sugar, will not order again, but everything else ok.

The food is standard Chinese takeaway fare. There is nothing wrong with any of it, but there's is no wow factor. The service was quick.

Tasty Chinese is my favourite Chinese Takeaway in Chelmsford. There are nearer ones to me, but I always make the journey across town if it's open.

I ordered from here quite some time ago now following on from rave reviews on a local Facebook page. It was grim. The food was greasy, tasteless and the chicken was rubbery, almost like it was processed. I couldn't understand why people go on about the place and needless to say, I've never ordered from here since.

Very poor service. Order delivery and was told one hour time frame. Finally arrived after 90 minutes after being constantly told it's on it's way. Food just about warm, called to ask for refund. Very patronising female blamed cold weather and traffic and refund would be made after they collected the food in 20 minutes. Advised not to bother as I could not sit around again tonight. During each call the person on the phone would go and answer another call, talking over me and could also hear other customers addresses. Was made to feel a lesser person.

Wouldn't recommend this place if you LOVE your flavours ! Everything tasted the same & they forgot 2 of our dishes !

Exceptionally good, would have again anytime!

This is not the first time our order has taken either too long to arrive or when it does we get the wrong order. This evening having ordered at 5.50 and specifically confirmed the delivery address with a person who barely took any notice even tho we have had deliveries here before and being told it would be there in 1hr15, after waiting 1hr 75 I rang to ask whether our order was on its way we were told it was on its way, a further half an hour later and after a phone call from a delivery person a barely warm, soggy, not particularly appetising order arrived. Had this been the first time forgivable, but clearly client happiness not important so time to give this place a MISS !

Always order from here but this time I was disappointed with service and food - over an hour & a half to receive order - Food cold - items missing - not a great response over the phone. Was wondering if changed hands !!

Regular customer from tasty for about 4 years. Never have I ever experienced an encounter seeing two dead bugs and hair in my food. Lost a customer! If it’s in my order it could be in yours!

Absolutely amazing! The tastiest Chinese I have had in years! Fantastic vegetarian options... I phoned to ask if they could make the dishes vegan and they did! First time ordering here and it won’t be the last! Thank you.

I use this restaurant at least once a week always happy to collect . food is always good. However the last 2 times i have collected. their delivery driver comes in without a face mask does not use the hand sanitizer. I would not accept a delivery from them at the minute.

We have been using this Chinese takeaway for years twice a month on average, until today when order turned up stone cold missing food items I payed for, when I phoned to explain the owner / lady on phone was not interested very rude or no apology even laughing sarcastically. Very reluctant to refund money and saying I will phone you back within the hour as very busy taking other peoples orders. I will not be purchasing my takeaway from these again. No appreciation towards customers at all.

I have eaten a lot of Chinese foodup and down the country and as a takeaway this is hands down the best. Always fresh, excellent quality, amazing flavours, friendly owners. Chicken in garlic and chilli sauce is divine!

This used to be my favourite Chinese takeaway, however, after New Years Eve, I will never, ever use them again. Ordered food by 7pm, was told it would arrive at 9pm. It eventually arrived at 10.30pm, no apology, nothing.

This chinese is the best one in chelmsford. The kung po chicken is amazing. They are always happy to make adjustments to dishes and are always friendly. Most of the time they deliver earlier than they say. Cannot recommend highly enough!

Just had the best Chinese take away. Been disappointed in the past from other places whereby always late. Greasy and cold. This was non of these . Large portions .well presented fresh . Not greasy and on time. Amazing thank you .

We have been using Tasty for years it has the best vegetarian choice in Chelmsford. Plenty of Quorn and Tofu dishes to choose from. Great food, great delivery service.

A good Chinese takeaway, food is really good and prices are very reasonable. Excellent choice. Delivery is very quick, drivers are very polite. We use it all the time and have not had a bad dish, watch the Thai Green Curry, it's blooming spicy!

Absolute rubbish- no taste, aroma or flavour what so ever. Chicken was just weird, pale and flat like some vegetarian offering. You cant even prepare the basics like satay- just awful. All sauces were runny and completely unseasoned. Honestly - you need a chef who knows how to cook Chinese food. Ordered from here because our usual Chinese is closed for a refit........ won't ever be ordering here again. Thanks for taking a giant dump on my favourite food group 😡 I'm mentally scared - I might even consider claiming for emotional distress it was that poor.

I usually go to another Chinese however my friend insisted we go to Tasty. Delicious. Satay chicken was full of flavour and the chicken and prawn balls have a light batter and lots of meat.

Was nice but took longer than quoted and was more expensive than expected even tho we had a new menu. Crispy chilli beef isnt a good as it used to be as theres less sauce but over all ok

We were regular customers (emphasis on were) ordering about 2 or 3 times a month. My partner and I don't eat meat and we state this every time we call to place our order. Today we ordered our regular meal including vegetable spring rolls, unfortunately these very clearly had some kind of meat in them, either chicken or pale pork - as non meat eaters we can easily tell when something contains meat. My partner called to explain what had happened and to give them a chance to fix the obvious error, whilst he received a curt response saying 'we don't even have chicken ones'. They then proceeded to say 'wait a minute' and took another order from someone whilst keeping us waiting. This took a while and as it was late in the evening we didnt feel prepared to wait for them to finish something else instead of dealing with us and our issue. Bad service and we paid for food we couldn't even eat! The rest of the food was ok, unfortunately the way they dealt with this really brings this takeaway down. We won't be returning.

Used to love the chinese here now its awful chips are always rock hard and everytime i have ordered they mess something up AVOID
