The food was ridiculously lovely Staff friendly and welcoming Vibe gentle I had the curried muscles & chips because. . What?!?!... Chips were really crisp, sauce for the muscles really nice. Just enough spice to know it was there... really satisfying rich food. My wife had the gluten free fish and chips on musgy peas. She really enjoyed it. When food is served with such care, well presented, that's a great start. A really good find!

Spent a pleasant couple of hours in here. Really nice place. No food just some really excellent ale. Great selection including decent cider which my friend gave the thumbs up. Nice cosy place with open fires. If you are in Bingham it's well worth a visit.

Well what can i say , came here as we were passing through and fancied a bit to eat. Very glad we stopped here for Lunch & Drinks , beautiful place , we had table by the bar in the restaurant side , staff were delightful, a lovey young lady served us, she did really well bless her, got to say the Food was amazing, couldn't fault it . All fresh , flavours were delicious great chefs and the service was spot one , highly recommend and will definitely be going again , left a generous tip , was well worth it !

I posted a mixed feelings review on here a few months ago but I needed to write another to rectify the last one. (We've actually been back several times). We've ordered and tried so many dishes from the summer menu now. The half rack of ribs must have come from a dinosaur as they were massive, the sauce was delightful and the meat fell off the bone. The fries from here are something out of this world too. We've had various sandwiches, in particular the crispy chicken, steak (a little chewy for me) and the fish goujons (incredible fish) - all very filling. Most recently I had the trio skewers... Yummy! I was a little disappointed in the squid and chorizo salad (lacking in the radishes and fennel as listed, instead I got celery and extra leaves!) 5 small squid rings for £17 wasn't really with it to be honest. The best dish has to be the sea trout... Out of this world! Give it a go! The dark mint choc marquis was so different to the usual desserts often found and the was absolutely scrummy and the Creme Caramel could actually be the best one I've had ever (my fav pudding of all time).

Went for a meal on a very warm busy Friday night. Very loud and rowdy outside. Food was pretty bland lacking flavour. It was presented very nice but lacked flavour and pretty expensive for what it was.

Inadvertently went to Bingham yesterday and found this fantastic pub. Lovely interior, great range of beers, and a brilliant young chap behind the bar who actually came outside and showed me where the bus stop was. A sign says “no riff raff” but they made an exception. ;0)

Great local pub - a good range of beers, friendly staff, no big TVs, no loud music, cosy atmosphere and a real fire - what could be better for an evening out with friends? Went to the restaurant tonight. Nice atmosphere. Friendly, if slow, service. Food OK, but nothing special. Another time, I'll go back to Gilt, No.16 or the Chinese. July 2024. Last night they charged my friend £24 for TWO single whiskies. The whisky was Glenmorangie 10 years old which you can buy from Amazon at £29. Total robbery. How does anyone justify that?

We came here to have a meal with my son and his partner and really enjoyed the food and service. We were given a booth, which was really nice and quiet but didn't feel excluded and the staff were very friendly and attentive

So Welcoming. Important when travelling alone. An Excellent room, well stocked, comfortable and surprisingly quiet, considering it was above the bar! Very very cute breakfast- larder style area- where you can help yourself to the sweet and savoury goodies and take to your room. The restaurant food- for me was an incredible find. The menu is comforting with an adventurous edge, very well executed. Had 3 dishes - Brilliant. Cleaned the plate. I'm not from the area at all, but have recommended the food to everyone who is.

Exceptional food and great service. We visited the Wheatsheaf restaurant for lunch - and the surf and turf burgers and ostrich burgers were stunning. The black cherry and dark chocolate bread and butter pudding was divine. Will 100% be returning. Thoroughly recommend

We came to celebrate my nephew’s 21st Birthday on Tuesday evening and everything about our experience was 5 star. The guy who was looking after us was so attentive and incredibly helpful throughout the whole evening, the food was absolutely delicious and I cannot rate this pub high enough. Thank you to everyone who made it a special evening. Update: Had to try their Sunday lunch and I can quite honestly say it was the best Sunday lunch I’ve had for years. Superb quality, excellent & friendly service and good value for money. What a gem this pub is.

Had a fabulous Sunday lunch last weekend at The Wheatsheaf . We were a party of 5, all our food was excellent . Great choice aswell, other options beside roast dinner. The young male and female waiters were very attentive, popped back several times to check everything was ok or if we needed anything else. A lovely alround experience…thankyou all

We had our wedding party celebration here and the whole experience was amazing. Amannii and the team were so professional and friendly and nothing was too much trouble - thank you so much - special thanks to Amannii for arranging things for us and to Luke who in the day even sorted my music out for me (thanks Luke) The food at the buffet we had (in the upstairs room) was gorgeous - the sausage rolls and the Bakewell cakes especially had my mouth watering - we have eaten here many times and I can’t recommed the food highly enough - the puddings are to die for xx Great selection of drinks available but nice to have our own bar in the restaurant area to avoid queues in the bar area Thank you to all at the Wheatsheaf for a great event xx

A lovely pub with great food, all cooked to order and fresh ingredients. I definitely recommend this place but always wise to pre book a table in advance. I have been several times now and it really doesn't disappoint, latest visit I had the ribs, I can highly recommend this dish.

I really liked this place. Didn't stay in the bar/pub but it looked great. The restaurant was spot on! The food is incredibly tasty. The chefs work in a open kitchen and looked super calm and it really adds to the eating experience. We loved the ravioli! The steak was cooked perfectly. The spong pudding was TASTY! Drinks where goooood. The service was calm and collected.. nothing was a hassle and every just felt really pleasant

Our first visit as it’s equidistant between us, 90 minutes drive. On entering, a warm welcome and it soon became clear that this place was a bit different - every member of staff seemingly in a good mood and enjoying their jobs. A rare thing. Three ordered open sandwiches - my steak was perfectly cooked medium rare - and one the twice baked cheese soufflé, The food was excellent and the service matched it. The impression I left with is that this group of people are experienced and work so well together. The time our food took from kitchen to table was seconds. Highly recommended and booking is essential.

A wonderful venue, amazing top quality food (compliments to the chefs), beautifully presented and tasty. First class service from our Waiter Luke. 4 of us attended for a Team pre Christmas get together, very very impressed, we can all thoroughly recommend The Wheatsheaf.

The Wheatsheaf pub has a lovely cosy feel about the place. At the back of the pub is a very classy restaurant area designrd to cater for a evening meal or a Sunday lunch. We organised with Jessica to have my husband's dad's wake in one of the front rooms just off the bar area. They were brilliant sorted sandwiches for us and made sure everything ran smoothly. Definitely recommend them.

We came for afternoon tea and it was absolutely delightful. They do accommodate special requests, and the food - sandwiches, scones with jam and clotted cream, and desserts - were all delicious. Service was impeccable.

I'll start by saying that our food was fine (apart from the fact that two out of about 10 mussels were unopened) but prices are a little too high for the type of place. The restaurant wasn't very busy and lacked atmosphere. The service was ok but not outstanding.

Delightful hotel, pub, and restaurant with excellent service and very comfortable rooms.

Booked a table for 3 at 5.45pm. Could not have earlt bird 2 courses for set price as advertised online. Two meals, pasta and chicken/ rice were served on cold plates. Never serve anything, especially rice and pasta on cold plates. Third mal was a curry in small iron pots. Desserts served on cold plates. Spotted dick wasn't warm enough. Disappointed. Not good value for money.

We were traveling through Bingham on the way home from a long weekend away. We stopped at the Wheat Sheaf just before the kitchen closed and they happily accommodated my girl friend and I for dinner. The menu was really quite appetising and we were hungry so decided to order a starter and after mains we shared a dessert. All three courses were absolutely fantastic, classic like pub dishes with a luxury and artisan twist. Hats off to the kitchen, great presentation and next level flavours of a well priced menu. We will definitely stop here again when passing!

Brought my daughter for food. the kids menu is lovely, clearly well thought of by people with children which is always a good start. Our main courses of trio of pie was something else. My husband wanted to order a portion to take home. Nice to eat somewhere child friendly but also with good food for adults. Ambience was very nice early evening. Candles lit but still lively and welcoming. Need to come back to enjoy some cocktails and ciders.

Visited here a few times for Sunday lunch and it has always been an enjoyable experience with amazing food. We have recommended Sunday lunch to a number of people. We booked a table for 4 of us. We were seated quickly, given menus and orders taken promptly. Myself and my partner are vegetarian and both ordered the wellingtons which were very nice. Our friends ordered the roast platter and the sirloin beef. All the meat was overcooked and tough. I did complain and was given a discount on those meals. Throughout the meal no one offered any condiments, more drinks or asked if everything was OK. I had to seek out a member of staff. Very disappointed, the price that the meals are, I would expect better. Will not be recommending anywhere again.

A nice place that we called in for a drinks. I think that it would have been nice to see some twinkly lights or a candle around the fireplace as it looked dull and miserable.

On Saturday 9 September the lovely Sue - the bride - and me held our wedding reception at The Wheatsheaf. We had a fabulous day and all the arrangements ran perfectly on a very hot day indeed. Despite the heat staff remained cool, calm and collected throughout providing us with excellent service, communication and provision which made everyone present feel, comfortable, valued and appreciated. From the outset of our planning for this special occasion Jess the restaurant manager and Matt the head chef provided us with first class liaison, discussion and fantastic accommodation of our needs and wishes. Access to the restaurant facility to prepare for the big day was excellent and enabled us to have all details attended to with precision. The three course meal provided was of excellent quality and exquisitely presented. Service from the on duty staff was first class, thoughtful and fully accommodated the scheduling of the occasion. Dressing down the room after the event at the end of a long hot shift was completed efficiently and considerately by Jess and her excellent team. Guests who used The Wheatsheaf's rooms were equally satisfied with the care and consideration they received. All in all an absolutely fantastic experience and one that will live long in our memories. We could not have had a more joyful, enjoyable experience which cemented our marriage into everybody's happiness on the day. And all at a cost which anyone considering a smaller function for 30 or so guests should really consider as an option...we even managed to squeeze in one "gate crasher" on the day! Fish and Chips- one piece of fish and 6 chips! Cost about £15. When I asked about the chips I was told it was one whole potato's worth. Not an experience i intend to repeat.

The Wheatsheaf has always served very good pub grub and because of this we have used it many times over the years. However it also offers a fine dining menu which we ordered from on my wife’s birthday. We were absolutely delighted with the quality...

Booked a room here last minute and what a fantastic find! The bedroom was excellent , super comfy bed and a well furnished room! Clean and homely. Fridge was well stocked and highly impressed with the selection of breakfast goodies available for you to help yourself, what a fab idea! Even managed to squeeze in a Sunday roast before we left, delicious and very reasonably priced ! The staff were all super helpful and Friendly. All in all a brilliant stay and will definitely be returning !!

Previously had a great Sunday Lunch here so decided to return for a midweek dinner. What a mistake!! Thought we would go in the bar at the front first for a drink. On entering noticed a large group of people with dogs shouting and swearing...

Catering was provided for a wake, it was lovely, Catering for vegetarian and vegan aswell as gluten free guests. Also relatives stayed over in one of the rooms, very nice, clean and comfortable would highly recommend.

Had a return visit for Sunday Lunch and very much enjoyed it this time. Lovely starters, nice mains with plenty of accompaniments eg vegetables, potatoes etc, and very nice puddings. Good service. We look forward to returning. Food mid week is also very good.

Stayed 2 nights for a wedding nearby. The room was fantastic! Very comfortable bed, great en-suite bathroom with powerful shower, extra soundproofing on the windows (they overlook the street). Hugely impressed with the breakfast bar which had a range of healthy options plus some treats (super impressed with the vegan muffins). All the staff were friendly and attentive and nothing was too much trouble. We had lunch in the restaurant just before we left and, again, it was top quality. Would definitely stay here again and, in the meantime, I’d highly recommend it to anyone.

What can I say.... I stayed here before and loved it here, from the lovely rooms, the comfy beds, the peace and quiet and then there is the food. Grab a breakfast basket buffet.... it is an absolute winner! Fresh milk and orange juice. The location is actually out of the way for me but I travelled an extra 8 miles to stay here because it is so good. I travel a lot for work and will always try to get in here, as a female travelling on her own it is lovely to find somewhere that feels safe and homely, with ample parking and spare blankets. Well done 5 * from me!

Was treated to the Mother’s Day roast lunch. Had the vegetable wellington. The presentation was perfect and the meal delicious. Vegetables and cauliflower cheese served separately which is always my preference. 10/10

We've been in here numerous times and never had a bad meal. The food is very much a step up from pub grub, this is restaurant quality. Would happily take a "foodie" here knowing that not only will there be something they like but that's it's well cooked. The menu changes on a regular basis and everything is cooked to a very high standard. Prices are very reasonable too for food and drinks. The bar area itself is very cosy with a really good selection of beers on and plenty of guest ales on a regular basis. Excellent pub/restaurant that I plan to support for many more years to come.

Went for Sunday lunch and was not disappointed! We both had roast dinners and they were delicious. The portion size was perfect, we didn’t have to leave any (therefore wasting food) and meant we had room for puddings! Which were also delicious. This will be a new “go to “ restaurant for me and I would be extremely happy to recommend. The staff were lovely and just attentive enough without being at the table every 5 minutes and the atmosphere was really nice too.

The perfect stay. Nice and fun staff make you feel right at home. Pub downstairs and great little rooms upstairs. The rooms have great decor, the beds are comfy and the water pressure in the shower is awesome. They pack your fridge with a yummy continental breakfast (croissant with cheese, small chocolate croissant, oat bar, orange juice, shortbread and everything for tea). Book direct with them. It's a family owned business and I'm sure it would help them out. Explore the neighborhood for cute shops.
