The Wheatpieces in Tewkesbury

I frequently visit the Wheatpieces for a family meal out with my children. As always the staff are fantastic. It's become the norm now that we when we walk in the staff know exactly what's required (Usually the very lovely Bry) and get the carbohydrates book put ready for us as my eldest is a type 1 diabetic so needs to know the right amount of carbs for her insulin requirements. I can't thank the staff enough for making sure everything is done to spec and making sure that my daughters food is exactly how it needs to be for her. the chef has always been fab at accommodating my other children as they are also fussy eaters 😅. Thanks guys for always being amazing with us ❤️

Popped in for Sunday Dinner and a few drinks, Charlie served us and rectified a minor issue superbly, his customer service skills are second to none. Absolute credit to the pub, will definitely be going again.

I have been several times over the past month to this pub and from what I've seen. The food has always been great, Henry has made me and my kids feel really welcome everytime. Chloe has been sweet and lovely also at the bar, and its seems nothing is too much effort for all. It's now one of our new favourite pubs to go to for me and my kids. Thank you everyone for your time and efforts, we all look forward to seeing you again.

Very lovely pub and atmosphere. Great music and played the golf. i was served by a lovely girl called chloe and was served food by a charming young man called adam. However what let it down was a miserable man behind the bar. Seen to be making fun of younger customers and workers. I think it lets down the vibe of the pub. He was very rude and always had something negative to say. i have been here numerous times and he is either behind the bar or in for a drink and he always sours the mood of the bar with his negativity.

Great service and good food. Was served by Meg who was very polite and professional, but wholeteam was friendly. Highly recommend!

Excellent service by Terri Anne, she was attentive and accommodating at all times. The bar was clean and well looked after.

We had the best experience dining at Wheatpieces! The food was absolutely delicious—we tried the Burger Quadzilla, English Breakfast, and Candy Mania, and every dish was fantastic. The ambiance was lovely, adding to the overall wonderful experience. Really friendly staff and good service, good atmosphere

Mark and his team are awesome and we always feel welcomed in this pub. The food is decent and it’s always got a great atmosphere. Just wish my misses would allow me to frequent this great establishment more often.

It was a family gathering and all went to plan. Food was as usual pretty good.

We had a large party of 33 people and had a very enjoyable festive lunchtime meal.

A large group of us attended today for christmas meal. Service was excellent. Meal was excellent. Mark and his Briony were excellent hosts. Will definitely return.

It was our first visit with family for my mum's birthday, service and staff were lovely, food was lovely only downside the Christmas dinner could have been a bit hotter. Christmas pudding was lovely certainly be back.

I visited the pub and had the festive kiyv and christmas pudding. Both were served quick and piping hot! The server Bryony was very friendly and helpful.

By far the worst food I have ever eaten yesterday. We ordered and the food came just 5 minutes after ordering. The food was clearly microwaved (chicken breast) and lamb koftas. They were both cold in the middle. The chips were anemic and again beans freezing cold. Me and my partner could not eat the food. We also ordered garlic bread with cheese which arrived RAW! Just cooked cheese on top of raw garlic bread. We have been here a few times and the food gets worse every time we visit. We will not be going back!

Went for lunch on Wednesday with my gran and was lovely. Had incredible service from the waitress Bryony, very helpful and couldn't have done more for us. Food was delicious too, would recommend the mac and cheese. Thanks for a great lunch!

We have been coming to The Wheatpieces regularly for about a year now. It's clear to see that lots of other people enjoy their visits as much as we do as it seems busier and busier everytime we come but our food still comes out quick and Bryony & Mark still find the time to go above and beyond for us. Great little team who keep us wanting to come back!

I had the best service at the Wheatpieces. Nothing was too much trouble when I came in with my Autistic son. One member of staff Henry was particularly attentive and I can't thank him enough for everything he did last Saturday evening. Thank you so much, we will be returning very soon. *****

We ate at The Wheatpieces a few weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised at the standard and quality of the food. The service was great we were served by Adam he was attentive and kind Overall a really nice lunch out.

15th Oct, I had a small family gathering here for my birthday. What stood out to me was the team Jason, Chole, Meg, and Adam. From lovely warm smiles from the girls to Jason helping train the staff and Adam engaging with us like real humans, not just customers. From start to finish, and we had a great time. My son had a burger bigger than his head. Dog friendly, too, which made everything 10 times better. Sure, the food didn't match the £70 steaks I ordered from my specialist restaurant, but that isn't why you come here. However, the food was exceptional quality for the cost. Drinks were perfect and cheap. My only complaint is that they didn't serve Pepsi! It was a great place to come for a bite to eat after a stressful day at work. I'll certainly be returning!

We have been here a few times and it has usually left us feeling underwhelmed, but at least fed adequately. However, this last experience has confirmed that it is not somewhere for a return visit. It was a very disappointing and unpleasant experience. The service was sloppy, grumpy and verging on rude. Items were forgotten and plates were delivered clumsily and inhospitably. The food was not of good value - cheap ingredients, poorly executed with misleading offers.

It's a pub chain, so that tells you what to expect. The menu was varied, and reasonably priced. The food came swiftly when ordered via the app. I was less impressed by the few deserts on offer, but if you like chocolate you will have choices.

I have been coming for a while now and everytime I come Adam is always so kind, polite and friendly. He works so hard and is always busy but still goes out his way to make sure everyone and everything is good. Adam shows people what a job like that is about. He’s a real credit to himself! Keep up the good work mate. Should be proud of yourself!

Pretty nice place, been going for years. Only things I'd say on feedback is to bring more pub classics back like Bangers and Mash, cottage pie etc. Other than that there is some other good choices and nice to have a family meal.

after waiting an hour and a half for starters and main courses to be served (at the same time)we sent the mains back because they were cold and overcooked . We ate the starters we couldn't have anything else

First revisit for a few years and it was a very pleasant surprise. The staff were chatty, friendly and Adam went out of his way to make sure his customers were happy. The food was good, meat was flavourful and well cooked. Portion are huge l. Very enjoyable!

Adam at Wheatpieces Walton Cardiff is always very friendly and chatty despite how busy he is. He always goes out of his way, above and beyond to ensure customers are happy. He takes time to get to know regular customers and alway very attentive. Great Job Adam, keep it up.

We had a table for 9 booked for 6pm on tuesday 20th august 2024 whilst having a drink in the garden my grandson fell and grazed his knee the very kind male bar tender gave him a teddy to make him feel better which it did he also told him that if he ate all of his dinner he could choose another one. Having eaten his dinner he went to the bar and proudly told the bar man that he'd eaten all of his dinner and was allowed to choose his prize and then he asked if his cousin could have 1 too which he said yes so both my grandchildren were very happy any how after all that food was promptly served and served with a smile and was all very tasty and hot we thoroughly enjoyed our few hours there and can't wait to go again

Come for lunch yesterday and was very impressed with not only the speed of service but how lovely the staff were aswell. We were served by Bryony who still had a big smile on her face and couldn’t have done more for us even though she seemed rushed off her feet. The young girl on bar was also very friendly and very welcoming. Will definitely be back thanks to the great deals and service!

Just been to Hungary horse Tewkesbury. Was a decent place, but main reason for leaving a review was purely on the service we received, I would just like to say the waiter Adam was fantastic, he's such a polite, kind individual who clearly loves he's job. He couldn't do enough for us with making sure everything and everyone was OK. We could of really hated the place and because of this amazing service I would of still gave 5 starts because of him. He's a real asset to your team, hope you show him the review. And Adam keep up the brilliant work.

Revisited tonight: Busy Friday evening service but staff were efficient and friendly. Four meals ordered. Fish and chips was good. One burger very good. Mixed grill, chicken a bit dry, chips luke-warm. Quadrilla burger was well grilled on outside but parts undercooked inside. I'm sure management would have rectified, but it's difficult to mention to staff when they are so busy and rushing around. Feedback is not a complaint, just a nod to help improve for the future. Suspect this is a good venue for families looking for value for money but perhaps not for a romantic evening of fine dining. It's a chain pub and serves the market it aims for, so shouldn't be criticised for that.

We have come here each month from may to July for birthdays and fathers day. We enjoy the menu and lovely food. Decent price and quality 👌 service. My mum used tesco vouchers for 1st two occasions. If I lived in Walton cardiff I would be here often as football on in spacious bar area. See you again soon
