Really lovely home made food, and run by very friendly and welcoming staff. 😁

Attended a Hen night along with 20 other people for a meal & a good night out and I wasn’t disappointed. Being such a big party all meals had to be order a week before which is understandable. The food arrived promptly & it was cooked well & most of all served hot which I know can be a bit difficult with so many people to serve.We were well looked after by Simon & his team and nothing was too much trouble. Well done to all involved.

Brilliant good quality meal with friendly service . Me and my wife had a meal here on a busy Tuesday evening, my wife said her lamb shank was one of the best she'd had.

The food at this place is very delicious. The dishes are abundant. They attended to us super quickly and were very loving. I recommend 100%

Drinks are very expensive they charge for a pint of coke that's not on tap and is in a 330ml can of coke food prices are so high

Wow what a Fantastic experience. Our waitress Alisha was outstanding so attentive and polite. Our meals were outstanding and the apple pie was 10/10. We enjoyed the whole experience so much we came back 4 days later for more. Thanks to the whole team

Popped to try the Swan for a quick meal. Starter .. garlic bread was served with the main meal which was really odd. It was very over done and not very garlicky. Fish + chips was also over done. V good chips though. Eton mess .. very good on fruit but meringue seriously lacking. All in all a very disappointing meal. As we were nearly the only ones in there on a Fri night had expected much better food. Soooo disappointing. Won't be returning.

Well I’ve waited ages to write this review in the hope that people who read it don’t book for Christmas dinner at the Swan. We booked Christmas dinner at the Swan after not going out for Christmas dinner for years and we most definitely were not let down, such a fantastic atmosphere, staff that are so attentive and happy to help. Now as for the food, we’ll I ordered the beef and couldn’t not believe how well it was cooked, roast potatoes that you can’t beat and all the trimmings were superb, one thing that amazed me was the amount of food I honestly thought I wouldn’t eat for a week after. A lovely touch with the recyclable crackers and a dessert just finished the whole meal off. Would I return yes I would and as soon as the Christmas menu is out I will be booking again, thank you so much for a fantastic Christmas lunch.

We had a lovely Sunday lunch just before before Christmas. The service was excellent, the staff were very friendly and accommodating, the atmosphere was lovely, and the food was excellent. We always enjoy our visits to the Swan, and my wife and I are glad that her brother and his wife also had a great time when they dined there with us.

I had Gammon and chips and it was the best I've gad in the longest time I will most definitely be returning the staff were amazing an a fantastic atmosphere top marks from me 🏆

Now this is how to run a pub, amazing lady and gentleman greeted us kindly and immaculate service. Not like a nearby pub with two mutton dressed as lamb characters using white stuff and throwing themselves at our men, whom have adopted a very negative reputation from surrounding locals. I hope the couple who run the Swan continue to be amazing people.

Great Sunday Roast, beef on point, not overcooked.

What a fabulous experience!! A Sunday roast we would have been proud to have served at home. The food was excellent and the service right on point. A fantastic way to spend a stormy Sunday afternoon! Well done everyone involved.

I had the steak night deal , a wonderful rare rump steak , perfectly cooked with Stilton sauce and chips with salad and lovely cold thatchers gold for £16 , tremendous value for money and the staff were excellent . Well worth a visit

We found The Swan Inn through the Brit Stop app and so pleased that we did. The staff were really warm and welcoming and the food, both choice and value for money, was excellent. This is a perfect example of getting the basics right so well done to the team and the chef.

Went in for Tuesday steak night, as staying nearby. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his steak meal, his words it melted in his mouth. I am a vegetarian and had the mushroom and hallumi burger which was lovely. The young lad who was waiting the tables was really polite. If we didn't live so far away this would be a regular pub for us.

Went for a celebration meal food and service absolutely amazing. Nanny really enjoyed her meal service was friendly, quick and beautiful food couldn't have asked for any better..

We came for a family birthday meal this evening and can't rate the team or the food high enough. Beautiful food with a wide range of choices to suit every member of the family. The staff were very helpful and attentive. We will definitely be back.

We have been regulars at the Swan for many years where we have dinner and play cards most Saturday evenings. We have always received a warm welcome from Simon and his team of young and enthusiastic staff and feel relaxed and comfortable at this venue. There is a wide choice of traditional, good quality food on the main menu with daily specials adding to the choice.

The Welcome from the landlord on arriving was nice and quick and got us fixed up with drinks and a table for an evening meal. The food was excellent and ingredients top notch, delicious steak and pasta. The whole evening was made even more enjoyable with the 2 young waiters who were just so on hand quick and attentive and helpful. The Swan certainly has a following with the full tables and a vibrant atmosphere. The beer garden also looked very inviting on a sunny day.

Food was top-notch and could not fault it! Really nice pub with a family atmosphere. The only thing that let it down is that it was table service for drinks and I tried for 20 mins to try to catch the eye of the young waiter/waitress and gave up sending my partner to the bar.

Being relatively newly retired to the area, we're trying to experience outdoor summer dining as much as possible so we went here with our eldest granddaughter and her little daughter, The Swan Inn did not disappoint at all. the Pork Sirloin was cooked to perfection, gorgeous wine-edged gravy, generous portions excellently presented by cheerful, pleasant young staff. Highly recommended for a family Sunday roast. Rather book ahead though.

While on Holiday in the area, we went to the Swan on our last evening with our dog Harvi, we were made to feel very welcome, shown to our table. The food was excellent as was the service. It was a lovely end to our wonderful holiday in the Cotswolds.

My partner and me booked in for a roast dinner this Sunday gone. Well, wow. The gravy is out of this world !! It is so tasty !! I would actually buy this just to take home (food for thought there!!). My partner had Lamb shank and I the roast beef, both were tender and tasty. There was enough of everything on the plate Inc a side bowl of vegetables... Very impressed indeed and we will be coming back

My wife and I were taken here for our wedding anniversary 28th May 2024, I must say firstly that the food was fabulous BUT!!! Manners and service must have gone on vacation they were even surprised when we asked for the sweet menu and the reply was "I didn't realise you wanted any" so I'll finish there we won't be back

Very friendly. Nice quiet atmosphere. The food was exceptional as was the service. Staff made a fuss of our dogs and commented how well behaved they were. Looking forward to visiting again.

Great friendly staff who where also excellent. Starters and Main course were great, two of the party were dissappointed in their lemon and meringue pie ,on the hole great value for the money. Would return.

Another first class Sunday lunch at The Swan the other day. In our experience the food here is always good and their Sunday roasts are no exception. A lovely pub with a decent sized car park, a nice outdoor space and children's play area and ever friendly staff.

We called in and had the tuesday steak night deal ( rump steak , pepper sauce and a pint for £16) the steak was exceptional , cooked perfectly and great value . The service was fast and efficient , even tho the restaurant was very busy , the staff were very friendly and attentive and made us feel very very welcome ! My wife and I recently visited The Swan for a meal, and unfortunately, our experience left much to be desired. While the ambience of the pub was charming the food fell short of expectations considering the price. Regrettably, the vegetables served alongside our meals were a letdown, severely lacking flavour. The broccoli was undercooked while the carrots were disappointingly overcooked. To compound matters, both arrived cold, detracting from the enjoyment of our meal. When we voiced our concerns to a member of staff at the end of the meal, we were met with dismissiveness, which was disheartening and failed to address our dissatisfaction.

I can’t thank Simon and the team enough. I booked a large table for Sunday roast for the after celebrations of my daughter’s christening back in January. From first initial enquiry, right up to the day, I cannot fault anything. Communication was prompt and helpful. I have worked in hospitality all my life and currently in wedding and event catering so I cannot stress how important it was for me that everything ran smoothly on the day. It’s hard to find good food & service these days. Our beef was cooked to perfection and nice selection of vegetables all served hot and efficiently. As we were a party of 38 we sat in the area at the back of the pub which worked really well. I was able to decorate and set the tables ahead of the meal and it provided the perfect setting. Every need was catered. The team on the day were polite and friendly all 38 of us throughly enjoyed our dinner. As mentioned I work in catering so I know that had there have been any issues I would have heard about it but everybody complimented on quality and service we received. Thanks again to team Swan!

I was Honestly blown away by how good the Food Was. I walked in with low expectations due to having bad experiences in the past but Hand on heart will 100% recommend to anyone looking for some Amazing food!

Steak was the best best we had ever had. If you want to taste steak like it should be. We both had rump and it was cooked to perfection. And the service was very friendly. Wish l had taken a photo.

Good location on the A38 main road to Tewkesbury from Gloucester . Plenty of parking space and garden for children . The food and service is first class and the welcome from Simon the manager, and the rest of the team makes for an enjoyable experience .

My friend and I visited this lovely place last night 03/02/24 to celebrate the passing of the seemingly endless month of January. We both ordered the lamb shank which was cooked to absolute perfection. The seasonal veg was also vibrant and delicious, so much flavour in every bite. The wonderful staff were endlessly attentive and very friendly. I never write reviews but was absolutely blown away by the quality of service and produce. Slow but friendly service, bland flavourless lamb shank stuffed into a ridiculous and unpractical bowl with a wide edge making it a chore to eat, dry pork with chewy crackling. Red wine sauce had no flavour at all. Served with barely steamed, poorly drained unseasoned veg.

We had a super meal here last Friday. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was great. There were 2 large groups in and this didn't seem to affect service at all. Thank you for making a long overdue get together a very enjoyable evening.

Lovely food a bit more expensive than I usually pay but was worth it. The young lady serving us was really polite and friendly and will definitely go again.

Fantastic Christmas Day lunch here with my partner saving all the hassle of doing it ourselves (yes we’re lazy!). We are so grateful to the staff for giving up (part of) their Christmas day to provide this experience for us. The food was tasty and hot, the portions sensible (no huge wastage as can often be the case with over zealous servings at other pubs) and the service efficient and friendly. We couldn’t have asked for more from a pub lunch at Christmas! Extra thanks to Simon (landlord) for taking the time to make us feel so welcome too with the wine!

Popped in for a drink on way home. Hadn't visited in about 30 yrs, the bar has been refurb'd yet maintained the lovely atmosphere of an old country pub.

Came out with family before the big day have driven past many times before such lovely food with a cosy setting inside and staff were super friendly highly recommend!

Came for lunch with my partner on Boxing Day, was greeted by some lovely ladies that were very accommodating and sat us next to a radiator without request, which was nice and warm. They asked us how our Christmas was etc, which was lovely. I had the bookmaker which was amazing !! And my partner had the lamb shank which he said was massive and really good! We’ll definitely be back in the new year!!

I came in for lunch with my family on christmas eve, despite the rush coming for christmas day staff were very polite and calm, we felt extremely looked after. The Swan never fails to put a smile on our faces even at the most stressful time of the year.

Came for xmas day lunch at £85ph. We were served food and given service which was probably worth £40-50ph on xmas day. Service was impersonal and shoddy, no attention to detail or care shown. As everything was preordered, it seemed they sat you down and just pressed 'go' in the kitchen. With regards to the food, decent portion size for starter and main. I ordered the French onion soup, which was so dull. This was more just an onion soup rather than 'French', it seemed this was added just to add some £££ onto the price. Was served with an unbaked baguette, as opposed to being baked with cheese croutes on top as it should be to be a French onion soup. The xmas dinner, which was the biggest let down. Served luke warm, what seemed thrown on the plate. NO sprouts, red cabbage or parsnips on a xmas dinner???! MADNESS! Veg was just boiled/steamed, no flavour. Potatoes were soft and dull, not crispy at all and meat was dry as a bone. This seemed like their standard £15 roast with the added xmas tax. Dessert was fine but clearly bought in. My sticky toffee was served with semi melted ice cream and other desserts were again served 'cool'. Go out for xmas dinner every year and by far this was the most disappointing.

I’m not normally one to write a review but I think this is well deserved 🙂 This little pub/restaurant has such a friendly atmosphere, the staff are very attentive and the food was exceptional I would definitely recommend to everyone and will be returning again

Swung by here to avoid motorway dining. A bit of a disappointment. Food was OK but it was a cold day, inside as well as out, fan heaters for some lucky people. Might be better in the summer. Service was a bit sloppy, considering it wasn't busy - slow to take orders, though the food was turned out in good time and was good, no complaints about the kitchen.

My friend and I had a wonderful lunch. We chose the 5oz steak light bite, to allow us to enjoy the sticky toffee pudding. It was cooked perfectly, arrived promptly and served with a smile. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Warm and friendly with a great choice of menu. Highly recommend.

We visited at lunch time. It was very quiet. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The room wasn't very warm. The menu is quite extensive. Unfortunately, the food was just average. £4 for a very small bowl of fried but previously frozen chips, we thought the cost was excessive. Chicken burger over cooked. Unremarkable pub food, sorry but probably won't be back.

Was driving past this Sunday and thought me and the family could go in for a roast, we were seated very fast even though we hadn’t booked and it was very busy! All the staff were very polite and were accommodating to my wife’s dietary requirements. I had the beef and it was very delicious and I would definitely love to have it again! Both my boys, George and Joe, had the kids roast chicken and they thoroughly enjoyed it, both had clean plates! Will definitely be coming back again!

It is good to see that a pub states it is dog friendly before you arrive. Good, wide selection of lunchtime meals, as well as the standard menu, plus the specials board. Good and happy friendly staff .

We popped in for a roast this weekend and I am so glad we did. The pork loin was absolutely to die for! I am usually quite fussy and this was amazing. I loved the roast potatoes and gravy too, very comforting in this weather. It had a lovely warm, friendly atmosphere and the staff were all really nice and helpful. It was quite busy but the staff kept on top of it well and we didn't have to wait a long time for our food. There was a great selection of food for families and some yummy looking specials. We are thinking about coming here for Christmas dinner if they have room for us!

Absolutely delicious! We had the BBQ ribs and halloumi to start then lamb shank and rump steak with peppercorn sauce for main, it was soooooo good! Friendly staff, great selection of food and a nice cosy place to sit. The staff were really sweet with my daughter and nothing was too much trouble. I am glad we booked as it seems like a very popular place! We will definitely be back for the roast next Sunday! Thoroughly recommend if u are hungry and fancy some delicious hearty food!

Stumbled across this amazing place last week, a lot bigger inside than it looks, a very pleasant lady helped me down the slope and opened the doors for my mother in her wheelchair. Very accommodating thankyou loulou. The Menu is extensive with a fabulous specials board! Very prompt service and very friendly. Will definitely come again. As not far from Cheltenham.

Visited late afternoon, saw on social media that over 60 offered 25 per cent discount on Thurs over lunch time ( that is up til 5 pm accordingly to website). Lovely young lady behind bar, welcoming/chatty and mentioned to her re the discount on greeting etc. As a veggie myself at least a couple of choices. It was so quiet ( only couple in there); hope they have more in there this evening for “burger night”. My veggie choice was good but hubby had special of Thai curry; sadly nothing Thai about it, deffo more Indian style curry. Did check with waitress before ordering to see if Thai based, checked with chef who assured it was that. So reason for average rating ( could only rate as average or very good, no “ good” category…. Check chef and team know menu and what it is and that description is correct, then remember to deduct the advertised discount, without prompting, especially when customer had highlighted in convo. Has potential to be good with tweaking, trying to offer positive feedback, thank you

I have to be totally honest here. My food was nice, average. My father-in-law's chicken burger was so over done it was almost burnt. We ordered pudding and was supposed to come with short bread, when we asked it was shouted across the restaurant 'we've run out' as she scuttled away. When we challenged it, the waitress was so incredibly rude and sullen it actually put us all in such a bad mood. We're not complainers but the attitude was so off with our service that we will not be returning. She clearly did not care and could see her shaking her head and laughing behind the bar. We are reasonable people and not as**oles but I'm not sure she's suited to people facing roles!

Basically a very disappointing experience, vastly overpriced food and drinks, worst ribs I had ever tried, so disgusting I couldn’t eat them, rest of the food on the plate just about bare able, bill was discounted. Ruined my wedding anniversary! Never going there again, only...

We arrived and was offered a table for 2 in the middle of the room near a post. I asked for a different table and was shown to a nice table which we were pleased about the menus were literally thrown on the table and told there are your menus. We went on to order drinks and the food, when the food arrived I asked for butter as we had pate and toast the waitress let out a sigh as if it was too much for her ( she is obviously in the wrong job ) I have worked in hospitality for over 30 years and you need to remember the customer is paying your wage! The good was ok but not great having a slice of toast with the unseasoned pate is a bit cheap! The pork loin was lovely but the potatoes tasted like they were yesterday's roasted ones. The waitress with the darker hair to whom we paid the bill was lovely .

Passing by and spontaneously stopped off for a spot of lunch. Good selection of food and drink options available from menu. Opted for steak and onion baguette which was perfectly cooked and very tasty. It was quiet in The Swann over lunchtime so it was nice to have some time to chat in a relaxing environment. Heavy rains stopped us from sitting outside, which looks to have a nice outdoors area when better weather

I think this was our fourth lunch this year; it always pleases, which is why we keep coming back time after time.

Restaurant prices and cafe type food. Some of it straight out of a tin and microwaved. Very disappointed. Portions very small, good job I don't eat much, I only eat a starter. Shame for the people I was with, they went home for something to eat. Didn't even see the bottle the drinks came out of. Was expecting special homemade bread, not straight from the wholesalers or supermarket. Won't be going back.

Went here last night with friends , i have been ill most of the night now , the plates were cold as well as most of the food i had fish and chips which I have regularly when out , the fish was mainly bread crumbs you had a very small portion of chips and for what you got it's over priced , I had been warned about the place ,I will not be going back there
