Food was great. Pub grub, but tasty and presented well. Prices very reasonable at full whack, but they also do a £12.99 for two courses menu Mon-Weds, which is indisputably great value. Cute little pub with friendly locals and staff. We stayed for the pub quiz. The quiz itself wasn’t great (too slow, very obscure questions) but it was busy so clearly popular! Book a table if interested. You can’t do a walk-in.

Booked for evening meal. Bar staff pointed us in general direction of eating area. Ordered hunters chicken & chicken platter. Hunters chicken was bland and dry, the side salad consisted of two lettuce leaves and a minute portion of tomato & onion. Chicken platter was tasty but not enough to sustain a 5 year old. No one came to ask if our meal was OK and plates were nor cleared from the table. A most disappointing experience Definitely would not return. Only plus side was decent pint of beer.

Worst pub food I've had in many years (Aug '24). Nachos served cold with chilled cheese sauce squeezed on a bowl of chilled ketchup/salsa to dip! Honestly! Not the melted, chewy deliciousness you expect... steak sandwich served on cheap white sliced bread - gave me the sodding heel! (Crust) and had to ask for the mustard mayo. Shame as lady behind bar was lovely, helpful and attentive. The setting is really lovely too.

Old tudor pub on the High Street, original low ceilings. We visited several times during our stay. Friendly, reasonably priced & dog friendly inside. Great local pub and would’ve been good for just drinks. We ordered tikka masala, the dish was small, the naan was very hard and overcooked. It was served with a random popadom. The rice had obviously been kept warm as the top of it was dry. Good service though

We would have had a lovely time if the visit hadn’t been spoiled by the rudeness of the chef. We ordered from the specials menu which offered two courses for a good price. Three of us ordered starters and mains, and one ordered mains and dessert. It was mentioned when ordering that we would most likely order extra desserts. The lovely front of house lady, Hayley, said that would be fine. The menu was a good example of pub food with plenty to choose from and the food we had was lovely. When we tried to order an extra dessert the chef said we could only have the pre ordered dessert and not an extra as the kitchen was now closed. My husband who has worked in hospitality pointed out that she shouldn’t be stopping mid service. She replied that she had a dog to get home to. A dessert was grudgingly prepared. While we were eating the chef stomped past as she left shouting to Hayley “Same again tomorrow. A different crowd hopefully!” Hayley apologized for her colleague’s rudeness. We had planned to return tonight with my son and his partner but we will now change our plans.

We visited Tewkesbury for a couple of days from 13/6/24. Looking for an eatery that allows dogs and came across the Nottingham Arms and are so glad we did. It's a traditional pub with a nice ambience. The beer and cider was most enjoyable and hit the right spot. For food I had the linguine and my wife had steak and ale pie, chips and peas. Dessert was sticky toffee pudding and custard. We found the food to be of excellent quality and very tasty. The landlady and her staff are lovely and made us and Millie our westie very welcome. If you like a welcoming traditional pub with good food I would highly recommend this pub.

The ale, well, I could have stayed all night but knew I had to walk back to our camper van so was sensible and restrained, (very hard to do). The people were extremely friendly and helpful. We visited Nottingham Arms for Sunday lunch and were thoroughly impressed by the entire experience. The food was absolutely delicious, offering a comforting and satisfying meal that perfectly capped off our weekend. What set Nottingham Arms apart was the exceptional service. The bar lady, along with all the staff, were incredibly welcoming and friendly, making us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. Their warmth was not limited to adult interactions; our 15-month-old was with us, and the staff made a delightful effort to interact with our little one, which was very much appreciated and added a special touch to our visit. The atmosphere, combined with great food and outstanding service, made for a really good experience. It’s clear that Nottingham Arms values their customers and goes above and beyond to ensure a pleasant dining experience for guests of all ages. I would definitely recommend Nottingham Arms to anyone looking for a cozy, family-friendly place for a delicious meal. Whether you’re local or just passing through, make sure to give this gem a visit!

Visited in the afternoon after considering eating there in the evening. Warm welcome from the staff , good selection of drinks and a nice cosy real fire. Unfortunately , as with many pubs today , dogs are welcome in the bar AND the restaurant. We are totally against animals in dining areas but it's getting to be the norm. Simply because of this we ate elsewhere , which was a shame really but , as I said , I don't think animals should be allowed in restaurants. Many people are allergic to animals but it seems that ( in general ) it is ignored yet , God forbid , if there is a peanut in sight. Sorry Nottingham , would loved to have joined you but....If you don't mind the dogs then I would 100% recommend a visit to this cosy old traditional pub.

We were in Tewkesbury for a couple of nights just enjoying this lovely old town. We tend to have a wander, visit any sights, then shop and visit pubs. It was lunchtime when we popped into the Nottingham Arms and we were pleased to see a good priced menu. The pub itself was old and proud of the fact, it was stripped back to show some of it's history and I loved it, so many places seem to hide their heritage behind fancy decorations and modern furniture. The service we received was really friendly, not just polite, but genuine. My wife ordered a steak and ale pie and I went for the local faggots. Both dishes were excellent but the faggots were outstanding!! My wife got food envy and so I had to share my faggots, I wasn't keen, but what can you do?!! I can't remember the exact price but I do know that we thought it was incredible value given the quality. I would be happy to go back and hope that they still have faggots on the menu

We visited the Queens Head Pub in Gloucester this evening for what was supposed to be a warm and memorable farewell party, but sadly, the experience left much to be desired. We had booked a table for 8 well in advance, but two additional people joined us last minute, something that’s not uncommon at gatherings. Instead of accommodating this small change with a bit of flexibility, the lady serving us acted more like a strict hostel warden than a friendly host. The attitude was brusque, unwelcoming and lacked hospitality completely. Rather than taking care of us with a smile, we were met with a sour expression and curt comments about our party size. While they arranged for a table for 10 after some discussion, soon it was announced that food choices were limited to mains only ( at 8 pm). No sides or starters were available, very strange and unlike other pubs in and around. Adding to this, when one of the friends picked a chips from another’s plate we were immediately told off saying food cannot be shared and an extra service charge will be added. Instead of helping us find a solution, made us feel like we were an inconvenience. The rudeness didn't stop there; throughout the evening, this person seemed impatient. It genuinely felt like we were being chastised for daring to enjoy ourselves. The food itself was average at best, but any enjoyment we might have had was completely overshadowed by the poor service. At a time when we wanted to celebrate and relax, we were made to feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. A little courtesy and flexibility go a long way in hospitality, and unfortunately, Queens Head seemed to lack both. If you're looking for a pub with a friendly atmosphere and accommodating staff, I’d recommend steering clear of this one. We left disappointed and regretting choosing this venue for such an important occasion.
