Lovely meal with family members last night. My brother was a bit late but the staff kindly kept his food warm. Thank you. The desserts surprised us in that they absolutely amazing!! My only slight moan was that we were a little chilly over by the window. We probably should have asked to move but it seemed fairly busy so we didn't want to take someone else's seat. All in all though, we had a super meal out. Thank you to Sarah and her colleagues. 😃

I live on a narrowboat it's like my local I take friends and family there for meals and the staff are very capable and efficient iff it's busy. They worked very hard to keep it going during lockdown and provided take out lunchtime meals and drinks we were and still are always welcome. And well behaved dogs are welcome. Always warm in the winter and plenty of outside seating in the nice weather.

Can’t comment on rooms as we stayed in our campervan in the car park. Excellent home prepared and cooked meal and the best selection of real ales I’ve seen anywhere for a long time. Decor was a little tired but service was friendly and efficient and we really enjoyed our dinner and walk next day along the canal and through Welford.

A popular pub with a pleasant view of the canal. The staff seem nice. The menu is lacking in vegan options (as are most pubs), but what we had there was really nice. I do like this place.

Had a Sunday roast dinner. Food was bland, not flavoursome and lacked seasoning. I've had much better elsewhere. When the time came to pay, they presented us with the bill which included an additional £1 as 'condiments'. It was explained to us this was because we had more than one than one kind of meat. This wasn't mentioned or displayed anywhere when ordering.

Recently had a lovely get together with some friends to celebrate our Ruby Wedding Anniversary. We had a fantastic time at The Wharf Inn (where we actually had our Wedding reception 40 years ago!). The food was outstanding, a great selection and all totally delicious. All the staff looked after us extremely well and provided excellent service in every respect. It couldn't have been better. Many thanks to Darren for organising everything and Sarah & the other staff for looking after us so well on the day. A fantastic venue, highly recommended.

We've had a burger and lasagne but we didn't enjoy the meal especially considering their high price. We were quite disappointed as the portion was small and there was no flavour in both of them. Severe lack of flavour and small portions for the high price. Friendly staff and fast service though. The main menu severely lacked in variety. Good for drinks. The food needs massive improvement.

Such a shame , the people who work here , especially rachel are so friendly, plus the real ale is spot on and is kept with pride and love . ….. BUT the food is not good, I had lamb Sunday roast, how can anyone mess lamb up at the end of may when it is lambing season. But this was not good, also the roast potatoes was like cricket balls, the Yorkshire pudding was cremated and the veg as rock hard , I am gutted as the staff here are so nice and friendly, sack the chef and get me some in the kitchen

What a superb find. Touring in my campervan we stopped here for an overnight stop in the adjacent Canal Trust carpark. The food was excellent, appearing to be all home prepared and cooked and very reasonably priced, beers too were a good price. We struck lucky as there was live music in the beer garden and judging by the permanent large covered area outside and the shed which has beer within the beer garden I would expect this to be a regular feature. Recommended.

Don’t judge a book by its cover springs to mind when we visited The Wharf Inn. On first impressions, the pub is in need of a refurb. The room we sat in by the bar was a little dingy. What took us by surprise was just how good the food is here. It was amazing. Great value, and proper home made chips! Couldn’t fault it. The staff were lovely, polite and warm. A great pub to meet and celebrate with the family! The food was delicious and plentiful, sorry for not taking pictures!! 😁 However, for us the best bit was that although the pub was very busy, Sunday, we were left to enjoy the food and the conversation going. Now and then one of the girls approached us to ask us if we needed anything, (perhaps a bigger belly, we could not try the puddings 😭😱😭), otherwise, just enjoying the place and the company. Ah, the Wharf Inn, just a short cruise and 1 lock up from the Leicester line of the Grand Union. Have never been disappointed here, except when not being able to moor up, and today was another fantastic dinner out. We booked a table in advance knowing it was Easter and sunny as the website still shows shortened food hours, however, it now does food all day 12-8 on Saturdays. When we arrived, we were warned that the food may take 1/2 hour, not to worry, we weren't in a hurry. (It actually came much quicker than that) A very good choice of real ales on offer, most from local breweries along with the obligatory Marstons Pedigree. The two different ones I tried were very well kept. There were a few local ciders too, and a very good selection of other drinks for all types. We ordered the beer battered brie with red currant jelly and the peppercorn mushrooms on black pudding for starters. The homemade large brie parcels were superb, the batter lovely crisp and flaky, with the brie just melting inside, the jelly was the perfect accompaniment. My peppercorn sauce with mushrooms was lovely, the peppercorns quite fresh, flavoursome and moist. The black pudding base gave the dish a different twist. The dinners arrived, wow, the sauce for the pea and prawn risotto was exquisite, creamy, without cloying the rice, lots of prawns and lovely sweet peas. Topped with pan fried sea bass and rainbow trout fillets, cooked to perfection. A brilliant dish from the specials board. My rack of ribs with cajun chicken, home made chips and coleslaw was a mountain of food I managed to conquer, and it really was good with the sweet maple barbeque sauce on the ribs to die for. Service was very polite and cheerful, both behind the bar and the waitresses, they all seemed to be enjoying working at the Wharf. All in all, a very good meal out, at a very reasonable price, especially so given the quality.

Two couples had lunch, last Sunday and received a very warm welcome in a rather nice restaurant. But ( and there’s always a but ) the presentation of the main course was ridiculous !! It was served on a very unattractive dark plate and piled high in the form of a tower ! I asked where the roast potatoes were and the waitress said the were underneath. At the bottom were the mashed swede, on top were the ( now soggy ) roast potatoes…..the most fatty, useless slice beef I have ever had and then a Yorkshire pudding….all this, surrounded by a very dark gravy !! Now you have to try and separate. “ this lot “ before you eat..and now it looks like “ a dog’s dinner “….the chef must previously have been a builder! It was also slightly more expensive than you would pay elsewhere for a similar Sunday lunch. But, I say again, the “tower of food “ was ridiculous !
