Wasn’t sure where to go in Weston and then chanced upon this place. A filling chicken sandwich with a tasty and interesting salad and also tortilla chips left me very full! A well priced meal with a delicious coffee to go with it. I’d really recommend this place and it’s only a short drive(2mins) from RUH. Really impressed.

Friendly cafe, nice fresh cakes and a really rather excellent mug of mocha - quality chocolate and not artificially sweetened. Ideal break in our walk on a cold winter’s day.

Visited this cafe looked lovely until my food appeared. My wrap was a ham and cheese wrap. On looking inside there was not even a mouthful of ham or cheese. Money wasted, on telling the waitress all she could say was sorry nothing else. No offer of a refund or anything very poor. Ham and cheese should mean ham and cheese not a slither of each.

Really tasty massive beef burger and chicken wrap takeaway. Chai latte, flap jacks and rocky roads are also amazing.

I needed to kill sometime whilst waiting for someone who was at the local hospital. I had a child (under 1) with me. The staff were really helpful. High chairs were not on show but when asked if they had one the staff instantly got one and even helped set it up. The food was nice and the service was fast. For parents out the the changing facilities are not that big but it was really clean. Value for money was ok.

Lovely welcome. Lovely coffee in a proper sized mug. Sandwiches made with Bertinet bread and locally sourced produce with 60’s music. We came across this surprise find driving past and really glad we did. Would definitely go back. A happy place to be.

This was such a lovely, welcoming place. The service was warm and friendly to everyone who came in, whether local or new. Our lunch was delicious and very reasonably priced. Wish this was local to us. As it is, with a short walk from the RU hospital [pedestrian path from left of entrance into largest car park, walk down onto main road and left again through Western Village - it's on Google maps] it's a wonderful respite between visits/appointments, so we hope to be there again very soon. Western offer food/drinks to take away as well.

Stopped here at the end of a walk for lunch...they had run out of sourdough bread and sausages. They said the wait for food would be 15 mins...we waited one hour for three scrambled eggs on toast and a bacon sandwich and the cafe wasn't even full. We saw them dash to Tescos to buy some more white bread! After they eventually served us they said they would bring over some cutlery but they didn't return so we had pop our heads round the kitchen to remind them to bring cutlery over! The scrambled eggs came without the onion as mentioned on the menu. All in all it was not a good experience and the place looked like it had so much potential! Such a shame.

I had to drop my mum off at the RUH for an appointment, and the parking there is atrocious, so I followed the road down and spied The Western and pulled into the free car park opposite... I was so so pleasantly surprised! The decor was modern, super cute and well put together, and the staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. As I had two hours to kill, we had a good chat about the fact that their meat, cheese and bread were locally sourced and organic... I had a flat white in one of their lovely mugs, and the cheesy scrambled eggs with some extra sausages on top. Really scrummy! And a generous portion! I think they even turned the oven back on so they could make the meal especially!! I loved the friendly atmosphere - a mum and toddler came in and were provided with toys and books. Just shows when the staff really care. And that means promptly clearing up and tidying even when it’s quiet! (As a previous hospitality worker it’s a pet hate to not do those small tasks when you’ve got time!). Which all added up to a clean, beautiful, welcoming environment for all their guests. Well done team, and I know exactly where I’m headed during my mum’s regular appointments! 💕 ☕️

We just visited for lunch after a RUH hospital visit round the corner. Very friendly and good food. Somewhat quirky, some of the seats look very uncomfortable; others very comfortable but a little awkward for eating. Slightly slow service ... no problem for us.

The Western is a lovely little restaurant situated in the village of Weston which is about 2 miles from the centre of the City of Bath. The Western offers a wide selection of hot and cold drinks and has a great menu. All meals are prepared to order which ensures everything is lovely, fresh and very tasty. The Western is only 50 yards from the famous Cotswold Way, and caters admirably for the many walkers who call in for a rest and a bite to eat, if you are hungry hot and cold meals are available, if you just want a snack there is an extensive range of sandwiches on offer and again these are all made to order. The decor is really amazing as it couples the modern with the old fashion and it is well worth a visit just to experience this. The service is excellent and is provided by very friendly 'Mine Hosts'. Whether you are visiting Bath or are local to the area I would thoroughly recommend you pay The Western a visit.

We visited at lunchtime last week. We were kept waiting for 5 minutes before being served at the counter. They were out of stock of 4 of the toasties on offer. We ordered 2 cappuccinos neither of which had any froth. Coffee lovers will know cappuccino should be a third froth, there was so much cocoa on the top it was basically a hot chocolate and a Luke warm one at that. The BLT was a tiny sandwich roll which didn’t contain any lettuce so the ‘L’ was missing. Lovely looking cafe, menu and quality of food & drink, lacking!

This was just the best welcome I’ve ever received when just popping in for a well needed coffee. After a long morning walking The Cotswold Way a coffee was needed to boost morale. This cafe is on the route so no detour required. Fantastic coffee, served in lovely big cups/mugs by the friendliest people you could hope to meet. And the complimentary fudge was an added bonus.

Coming down from a long walk on the the Cotswold Way late morning, a coffee was just what we needed. We spied the cafe, decided to call in and we received the warmest, friendliest welcome any of us could remember. Two flat whites, a cappuccino and a latte were tailored exactly to our tastes and we indulged in a cake deal to boot. Coffee, excellent and the cakes, wonderful. The staff couldn’t have been friendlier, which made our visit the highlight of the day.

I visit Picnic Coffee every week for the delicious coffee and lemon drizzle cake. However, the staff just bring my order to the table and walk away without a word or a glance at me. Where are the staff other reviewers praise so highly?

Where were the menus? Eventually given tatty incomplete booklet! No soup. Tables need wiping over. Obvious they don’t try too hard and no local competition.

Visited this cafe with my 2 children, we had a drink first the children done some colouring which they enjoyed, We then went into the soft play area cost £4 per child adult £1 , your in there for a hour, the children had a lovely time, my only complaint is they were not allowed to leave the soft play area for a drink as if they did they wouldn’t be allowed back in,
