Never been here before as it is very near where I live and hard to justify the expense when I could eat/drink at home. However, with my daughter working from home, we decided to walk down and get some lunch just for a change of scene in her lunch break. We waited in the cafe whilst it was made. Very nice atmosphere. Loved the crafty things on the walls that you could buy. Ordered some food to take out. However, after leaving, we discovered one of the orders was wrong. This didn't present a big issue was it was a melt rather than a baguette and although it wasn't my first choice, it was nice. The other items we had bought were correct and tasty. I would go again, although perhaps for coffee and cakes rather than the mains.

What an amazing little cafe. Walked in just before noon to see if we could still get breakfast. It was really busy with one table in the corner but people moved so we could get through and we found ourself seated next to a gentleman playing a guitar and singing. Never been serenaded over breakfast before! The food was lovely and we were also given homemade biscuits in the shape of music notes. After we had finished eating we sat chatting to the staff and local people who were so welcoming. A brilliant community asset but they make people visiting the area so welcome. I am originally from Yorkshire and was so proud that my Essex husband got to sample such hospitality! Thank you.

Lovely little cafe who continue to do well, despite opening around lock down. I like to go there on my own or with family and friends. There only criticism I would have would be, a member off staff eating and drinking at the till, either rest it off sight or die down as if you are a customer, at one of the tables. I know it is only quite trivial but it was not great looking. This certainly will not, stop me coming again or recommending you to people. Best wishes and good luck.

Bit dingy lighting, given that the cafe is deep back to front. The teacake was delicious but only scantily buttered and not around the edges, so ask for extra butter. A serviette would have been nice. Taylor decaf tea was extra weak, ask for an extra tea bag to get a bit of taste

I was not looking forward to my lockdown birthday so you can imagine how excited I was to receive an Afternoon Tea from my daughter. The platter was brought to my door by Mrs M herself. It was beautifully presented and even had a Happy Birthday sticker on it. The food was delicious, I can honestly say that every mouthful was sublime. Highly recommended! It really made me feel special.
