The West Bulls in East Riding of Yorkshire

As a table of 7 that had reserved to see the sign that said help yourself to a table and to have to go and find the reservation in a busy restaurant is not great, especially when it’s a table for 4 that has been reserved. Took a while to find a staff member and he put on a 6 which was a squeeze. The refurb looks good but seems as though plates and portions are smaller, still good pizzas though. Children were disappointed that the self serve ice cream has gone. Thought the Hazy Jane and Stella didn’t taste right

Food was cold and arrived late compared to people around us that ordered about the same time.

Had the carvery which has options for meal sizes including a kids one.

Ladies the lunch, had a lovely carvery meal. Plus a dessert. Bubble waffle with Lemon merang and lemon ice cream with Sicilian.Lemon drizzled top and bottom and lovely strawberries on top.

Don't go for the beefburger options

Visited with a friend and we tried out the breakfast with a hot drink. It was apprx £6.50 and really great value. It’s help yourself buffet style and can top up your drinks. We both ate it all and enjoyed it. The staff at the bar were really friendly and welcoming when walking in. I would recommend as it’s clean and well set out and maintained.

Great place and recently had a refit. Staff and food are very good. Plenty great dining offers on various days. Good value and great atmosphere.

Food a little dry and not much choice for gluten free need bigger jugs for gluten free gravy as only got a little bit this made food dry, however the girl serving us washed and cleaned all utensils and hands before serving us

Nice friendly pub. Really now geared up for food as most places are but it's a friendly place and often busy.

Enjoyed the meal. I had the fish, friend had a vegetarian dish especially prepared for her on request. Very nice. Annie served us. Excellent service.

food was decent however the staff was absolutely awful there was one man in particular who ended up making me cry he was so rude and patronising and ruined the full experience

Newly renovated with an updated menu, food portions are generous and service is great, carvery is very high quality. Can get very busy at evening times and Sundays!

Pleasant atmosphere, tables not crowded

Food was delicious, better than previous visits’ last year.. Katie, Rosie, Finn, Lynn, & the manager Carl (?) we’re all lovely & friendly & a credit to your team :-) The restaurant & toilets were very clean also :-)

First time we have been since the refit. It was much improved we both had a carvery three choices of meat it was hot and there were plenty of vegetables which were changed if they were running out. Waiting staff cleared away empty plates and were polite and helpful.

Met with a couple of friends for lunch two of us had carvery was very basic not much choice on veg mash was lumpy. I had the fatty bits left of beef and extremely salty gammon. The other has the Pizza which looked lovely couldn’t fault that. Would definitely not recommend the carvery. It has been many years since I was last in Westbulls the last was poor as well so nothing really changed. Also the carvery price on the menu was down as £7.29. Please get these updated ASAP. As the correct price is £10.29.

Really yummiest food around to fill you hungry tummy 😋

Came here after a funeral quiet a few family members and friends , 20+ and Finley the young lad took every single drink order and food order and not once messed up , was very polite and precessional , great service cannot fault in any way , queue for carvery was a bit long but it was at food change over I think so can’t complain at hot fresh food again!

Finley served our family funeral gathering and brought joy to the atmosphere, friendly atmosphere, food was good !!

Called here today for a carvery, food was wonderfull & Katie / Katy serving on the carvery was brilliant, polite courteous & great sense of humour. Will definitely be coming back again.

Me and my husband came today for a carvery and was very disappointed! The food was disguising the gammon was pure salt and like a door wedge the beef he put on my plate was just the scraps of the hot plate with loads of fat this is our second time coming as the first time wasn’t great we wanted to give it another chance however I highly recommend not getting the carvery and take a drive to toby carvery instead wish we would of done that! Never again will I come here for food!

Visited for the breakfast, we were the only people in there so there no queues, nice and quiet and everywhere was clean and tidy. As we were the first people in all the breakfast items were all freshly cooked.

What a pleasure to be served by Lynn on the carvery,she was really welcoming and polite,sharing brief banter with diners. The pork and beef were delicious and the veg was all fresh and so tasty

This was our first visit after the referb. The new decorations make it look a lot brighter and inviting. We had a table booked (5.40 ) for 8 people and arrived 5 mins before our time. The person who met us didn't have a clue where we where sitting and had to find a place. He came back with a pile of plates which he removed from the table,but no reserved note, so we take it it was just luck that the table became free. Any way he showed us to table 28 which looks like it's been put in an old entrance way. It was that cold that we sat with our coats on for our meal and my father even had gloves on between courses. Moving on to our meals, we had starters which where nice and also hot, but when our mains come they had missed one off the order luckily a few where having the carvery so by the time they had queued for that mine was cooked. Over all it was not the best experience on returning to West bulls and not sure if it was just because we where a large party or it was the time we booked, that they struggled with the amount of people overall ? We may try again but just a few of us.

Nice place nice staff, let down by the food....bugers were very poor the meat tasted cheap...possibly overcooked? Had burgers from all over the world this has to rank amongst the worst won't be coming back. Preferred the place how it used to be cheap and cheerful

Had a lovely Christmas day meal there yesterday. Food was excellent as was the service and atmosphere.

Thank you very much to all the staff at The West Bulls for our delicious Christmas Day lunch🎄 The atmosphere was very relaxed, even though there were many Christmas Day diners. The venue has recently been refurbished to a very high standard. Our servers, Fin and Eloise were faultless. They were very polite, friendly and efficient. They should both be proud of themselves for remaining very cheerful and efficient throughout the day. We look forward to returning very soon 😊

Had a lovely Christmas Day meal. It is our 4th year coming on Christmas Day and we will always keep coming back. Fin an Eloise was so lovely and we couldn’t thank them enough.

Had the Christmas Dinner takeaway. Noticed it had very generous portions and it was very tasty. The takeaway dinner was a good idea as my mum can't really get out for dinner these days. Well done!

This was my first time ever going out for Christmas lunch, and so pleased I chose West Bulls, what an amazing atmosphere, super helpful and friendly staff. The food was top notch with plenty of choice. I'd like to add how much I missed preparing and cooking Christmas lunch but I'd be lying 🤥, it was the most relaxed Christmas day I have had and that was solely down to you all ♥️

Fin and Eloise served us for Christmas day. Had an amazing experience as always so helpful and lovely. Whole atmosphere was relaxed and organised despite how busy it was. Always return for family meals would really recommend! (Forgot to take a photo of the starter but was perfect, mozzarella and camembert cheese bites)

Came for Xmas dinner everything outstanding as always great food and impeccable service from Fin and Eloise 👏🏼

Our youngest granddaughter enjoyed her breakfast with Santa. Staff were very attentive and Mr and Mrs Clause were excellent. They both took time to have a short conversation with our granddaughter. Well done to all the staff.👏🎅🤶

Lovely and friendly atmosphere, acomodated for a family of 12 and food was amazing,staff were lovely and helpful maybe could do with a cheap toy machine for toddlers, will be definetly going again worth every penny thank you westbulls and merry christmas to you all

Yet again, Donna made our Christmas celebration, this year showing a drive for service that you can tell is infectious to her colleagues. Her relentless pursuit to ensure everything ran smoothly is a credit to West Bulls and I simply could not imagine celebrating with my work colleagues without the humorous yet efficient presence of Donna. Amazing bottomless pizza and Prosecco. Harley was wonderful and very attentive.

Donna looked after our large party with a very complex order and got it spot on. She's an amazing lady, hard working and truly made our visit wonderful.

Attended West bulls again after the refit and wow it looks amazing and dinner big changes inside and out. The service was quick and very polite. Food as great as always. We all had carvery and a baby bowl for our little one.

Luke was a absolute life saver today, brought my twins for their birthdays, brought presents and batteries thinking I was preparing to find I couldn't put the batteries into the toy as I needed a screwdriver, luke came to the rescue!

Been coming here for 18 months with family and wife who are no longer with us Melanie is very very helpful at all times and a very pleasure to visit food is lovely could be a little bit hotter at times when we approach staff regarding this it's sorted straight away.i think front of house was very helpful and I throughly enjoyed my stay and would encourage people to come.

It's cheap and very cheerful! It's not 5 star Michelin food, but for this price, you really have to give it a go! Sharing chicken wings for 5.99! 20 per cent off with a bluelight card.

Manic as just reopend needs better organisation as que was bad as it reached the door people struggled to get in not enough staff only 2 taking orders for food and drinks some tables not cleared then ques again for your carvery meat very poorly cut and fatty (beef) Turkey and Gammon looked good veg choice great pigs in blankets for an extra price soggy the place does look good, it just needs better organising

Hi i took my 92 year old mum for tea lovely place but the carvery was not hot at all I don't think I will be going again

Wow, the makeover is great and it wasn’t just to the building and furnishings - the food was Great and the staff seemed happier too. The last time I ate here I said it would be the last time but driving by and seeing the exterior makeover, we said we’d give it a go today. Food was excellent, best carvery I’ve had in years. Tables not too close together. (Only negative would be the bathrooms being a tad blah in comparison to the rest of the pub now.) we will definitely go again. Well done!

Wandering as a chef myself, if anyone in the kitchen is qualified? One word, FROZEN. Frozen veg, yuk, packet mash, and the roast, definitely not real free potatoes, gravy tasteless, Yorkshire pudding, tasteless, not a clue how to use n cook real vegetables. Tables sticky, in need of total refurbishment! 2nd Review, return to Westbulls...25/11/24 1.30pm. Wow....The west bull has undergone a Complte refub.......Fantastic...and also a posative referb on the food! Hot tasty, carvery! Cooked to perfection....enjoyed every morsel! Had a carvery followed by sticky toffee pudding n custard...yummy! Great friendly, hardworking team......what a difference a re- ferrari does....see you lot again n again.....much respect to all.
