Amazing breakfast and friendly staff will definitely be visiting again. Could do with a radio or something as very quiet in the cafe.

Every time I’m in porthcawl I visit here. I came this time with a large party. The staff were lovely & the food was amazing. What makes it even better is it’s not far from the sea. So after a nice walk there’s an amazing cafe with wonderful traditional Welsh food at a reasonable price too. Thank you so much guys

Greeted by 2 signs advising abuse to staff would not be tolerated. Agreed, but this does not bode for a good welcome and having dined here I can see why some might not be too happy (no need for abuse though). It was busy and we sat at a table thar had just been vacated - empty plates etc still on table. We were advised 25 min wait for food, no issue there. The food came out on time, however, it came out before anyone had bothered to come and clear the table of the last customers plates. Not good. Not a pleasant atmosphere. Food was OK but nothing special. Would not go back.

We have been here several times over the months, and the food is ok, although they do seem to use very cheap ingredients for the meals. The general appearance of the cafe leaves a lot to be desired. A lick of paint and a good clean up would do wonders. The staff do their best, but it's just not a nice place to be. A bit greasy and run down - cheap plastic cloths on the tables, uncomfortable chairs and cutlery that digs into the palm of your hand. There's a dirty, greasy mat right at the entrance. Such a pity as a bit of thought and interest from the owners could turn this place into somewhere you might want to go, as it's right in the middle of the main shopping street and should attract lots of custom. Most of the time it's half empty, which tells you all you need to know.

This is a typical seaside cafe (not far from Town Beach seafront) with friendly staff and freshly cooked food. We called in here for lunch last Wednesday (16 August) when we visited Porthcawl. A good menu variety at reasonable prices. I had a lovely 3 filled omelette with salad whist my partner had chicken curry. Both meals were freshly cooked, hot and tasty. Certainly, worth a visit!

Had a full English breakfast here and it was absolutely vile..All you could taste was grease ..The Bacon tasted disgusting, the sausages were tiny, the eggs were thrown on top and broke, the toast must of been toasted on a radiator, the beans were quite obviously cheap supermarket beans and the Hash Brown was hardly cooked...Spent the rest of the day feeling ill...I Usually go to the Gusto Grill next door but it was full ..The Welsh Deli was empty...I Now know the reason for that ... Disgusting!!

Staying in Porthcawl on 7 day coach tour came here on our two rest days, Had a jacket potato and tuna day 1 and jacket potato with cheese n beans day two.lovely food, lovely service and lovely prices. A great place to visit when your in Porthcawl. Thanks Scott from Newcastle upon Tyne x

My father has been coming here for about a year, everyday and he always talks about how friendly the staff are. Today I got to witness for myself how special the people are and how well they have looked after my dad and his dog! Lovely people with the best customer service attitude ever x thank you so much for being so kind and treating dad so well x food is lush and coffee was lovely xx a special place thank you x

Lovely little place in Porthcawl town centre. This little gem is up the top end of town and allows dogs inside. Staff are friendly and make a lovely mug of tea and the baguettes are very good they ask if you want crisps and coleslaw. Well worth a visit especially on a nice day as they have tables outside

This place is spotless and faultless.Cleanliness is impeccable.Food was totally delicious .The view was brilliant So sorry that i need more tuition on sending photos o dear.

Popped in for a breakfast roll and a latte - both were really good and incredible value! Wish we could have eaten in but due to lockdown it was takeaway only. We’ll be returning for their corned beef pie when they reopen for dining.

Another excellent lunch cooked by Leann today, always excellent food, friendly staff and now you can take well behaved dogs in which is a bonus for dog lovers.

Called in for breakfast and wished we hadn't. The breakfast itself was "ok" ish but cheap ingredients used. What really spoilt the whole experience was the truly awful coffee, weak with no substance at all. We actually left this cafe only to go straight into another for a decent coffee. Another one for our never to visit again list.

Defo not a place to eat service was slow food was average and didnt all come out at the same time and the table was dirty so was highchair and the cutlery. Staff were having a loud conversation over the shop and wasnt nice atmosphere.

What can I say, Very rude staff who are disrespectful to customers.Called today and when asked how the food was I expressed my opinion as we had ordered 3 meals.2 Cheese and potato pie with 1 bacon and beans.1 with salad.1 corned beef pie with salad.The corned beef pie was extremely a small slice and for £6.85 I felt it wasn’t value for money.The waitresses said sorry that it was the portion, No need to say sorry I said as it’s your fault.There was a young girl at the time at the sink who I didn’t realise had gone into the kitchen to say that myself and friends were having a go which clearly wasn’t the case.Well it all kicked off a rude immature Girl came out asking who was complaining about the pie when nobody was only saying about the size of portion.The ladies on the other table who had also asked for extra mushrooms and got 8 pieces of mushrooms to which they were shocked at.They were told the normal portion was 4 pieces which they expressed was slightly shocking.To be spoken to by a child basically was not acceptable and even after the other table of ladies said no one was picking on the waitress this child was having none of it.All she wanted to do was scream get out or the police would be called.All I can say is don’t put yourself in my awful experience go to another cafe.This establishment needs mature staff working there not kids who think they can scream and shout at adults like they were in a school playground.I’m expecting a reply stating it’s all untrue but I can honestly say I’m not in a playground telling tales.My review is honest and truthful.STAY AWAY.

we were starving so had lunch here. im a really fussy eater so trying to get me to eat a full meal anywhere is near impossible. i had the faggots peas and mash and i was a little unsure because i dont tend to eat faggots outside of store bought ones but i loved this meal, it came out hot and fresh and my husband had chilli jacket and he loved his. we will be coming back for sure. def a hidden gem in porthcawl

Popped in here for lunch today ordered two lattes and I had the corn beef pie and chips my wife had a jacket potato with chicken tikka both coffees and meals were fantastic piping hot and plentiful will defiantly go back again soon

Have visited here on numerous occasions and everytime greeted by warm friendly staff and food excellent. Excellent portions and quality. Will keep returning and highly recommended.

Warm friendly atmosphere and good service. Few points could turn good breakfast into an excellent one. Full plates with beautiful bacon, eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes and black pudding. Sausages very disappointing and needed more cooking to give crispy outside. Especially dissapointing since extra one provided in loo of hash browns. Why no side plates for toast? Cluttered plates because of it. Coffee was the real let down for this day and age.

Had a medium breakfast it was fantastic well worth having will be back again they let you add things as well we added black pudding to ours

Very friendly and helpful staff. Food tastes homemade and is quite substantial and a good price. Would recommend the corned beef pie - it was delicious and a good portion.

This place used to be very nice indeed - but it is now under different ownership and is really dreadful! Went in today with a friend for lunch and they obviously don't have a clue. The whole cafe stank of stale overused cooking oil which impregnates ones clothing eventually. I had an omelette with beans and chips and my companion had sausage beans and chips. The omelette was very rubbery and I left most of it and my friends sausages were like cardboard and had been warmed up as they had almost certainly been cooked earlier. Chips were greasy tiny sized crinkle cut and not at all appetising.

Went here for a light lunch with family was awful better off paying a little bit more im a firm believer you pay for what you get. As for the customer service the girl didnt even crack a smile or wasnt polite this is off putting on its own. If you dont like working with the public maybe you should get a career change.

My husband and I visited the deli as we only wanted a sandwich. Ordered two toasties and two mugs of tea - £10.10. After waiting over 20 minutes the couple sitting by the side of us said that they had come in a while before us and they were still waiting! Eventually our (what I very loosely call) toasties arrived. I wouldn't have thought it possible that a toastie could be crushed to less than half a centimeter but the waitress proved this was indeed possible. I had to ask for our tea as we had still not received that. The toasties were the consistency of dry cardboard and totally tasteless. Bad experience. Not even worth the one star rating I have given it. Do not go there. There is a Subway next door which will be tastier and cheaper.

Called in on a wet day about 3.45. However only available to have coffee and tea.

En dos ocasiones he tenido recientemente aquí, bien sus tortillas ciertamente no creo en pequeñas porciones, eso es seguro, enorme. Absolutamente impresionante, se sirve con ensalada y un plato de patatas fritas. Difícil comer toda la comida. Recomiendo este pequeño café, hemos comido variedad de menú y nunca me han decepcionado, excelente cocina. El personal es fabuloso, muy acogedor.

I recently popped in to the deli for a quick sandwich to take out which was £3 50 I didn't mind spending this amount, the staff were lovely and pleasant however the two pieces of thick sliced bread were quite dry curling up at the end , 1 very thin piece of poor ham and some salad, I am not one to complain and didn't want to comment on here. I live in porthcawl and want every shop to succeed, I would just like this to be considered

Recommend to anyone very good staff and service makes you feel welcome and the food was brilliant and good prices

Had breakfast here...it's was lovely...cooked fresh....give this place a try...you won't be disappointed

Llamado en aquí en un día muy frío recientemente y queríamos algo para nosotros calentar. La única sopa de tomate, que era que no queríamos, así que la dama, lo siento no sé su nombre, se ofreció a preparar para nosotros si estábamos dispuestos a esperar sopa de verduras. Así fue absolutamente hermoso, caliente, enorme bowl lleno y pan fresco cálido. Excelente y es nuestro favorito de café en porthcawl.

My wife and I love this place. Serves the best breakfast for miles and the tea and coffees are nice too. The staff are always so very pleasant. Cannot fault this place. Whenever we're down in Wales, we always pop in for our breakfast here

Excellent breakfasts, freshly cooked and friendly staff, there are other items on the menu but I thoroughly recommend the Welsh deli breakfast, well priced and well cookedPerfect to set yourself up for the day

Cafe near the sea front in Porthcawl with a 'greasy spoon' feel to it, (what make cafeteria proprietors think that 1960's style plastic tablecloths are better than no tablecloths?)I'm not sure why they've used the term 'Deli'? It's a cafe.Dirty cutlery.Pleasant chatty girl serving.Breakfast not too bad & reasonably priced; real pan-fried eggs versus cheap barely cooked sausage. I noticed that they have laverbread available with breakfast,when I asked how it's prepared I was told 'just fried' (it's usually formed into cakes with flour / oats & fried in bacon fat).The coffee is poor considering they're charging top whack. While I was there one customer took his back and asked the girl at the counter to make him a fresh one as it was too weak. A few diners seemed to be regulars which is usually a good recommendation.It's got the makings of a good cafe with a bit of effort.This outlet was visited for the purposes of food hygiene assessment on the 4th of May 2016 & was awarded a rating of 3/5, (Generally Satisfactory).

Have visited here regularly and the homemade food is excellent and good value for money. would recommend.

I went to alot of cafes in porthcawl and this was the best! Top quality service by the girls, food was fresh and good value and had a hot choc with all the trimmings would definitely recommend this cafe! Best place in porthcawl in myeyes! Cant wait to visit on my next trip to porthcawl

Only had the breakfast which was of very good quality and very large portions. Staff were really friendly and helpful - crayons and colouring books for the children whilst waiting for the food and a lollipop on leaving

Went there with my partner little girl and my mum . Myself my partner and my mum had a cooked breakfast it was awful and over priced. The staff unfriendly and rude. And to top it when looked at bill they had over charged us . Charging £8 for a toddlers sandwich. Keep away better place's in pothcowl to eat

Best breakfast in Porthcawl, first visited this place with my mum. Food arrived quickly, the girls behind the counter were very friendly and talkative and we we had a lovely welcome. There are individual menus on the table which is fab as mum mum would find it hard to look up at the board. Overall lovely place to visit, definitely recommend.

Dirty floor, Dirty tables food served on cold plates and very greasy. Mentioned the cold plates but we were told they couldn't be too hot or they would burn the waitress hand. The hygiene standard awarded on the shop window did not match our experience. Door left open on a day that was not warm

I only went through the door because there was sign saying deli food on the window. This needs to be removed now as it misrepresents what is being served and is misleading. I ordered the 'soup of the day', it was hardlt service with a smile, the cutlery were thrown at my table, it was all too much bother for the girl serving. While I was waiting I inspected the table cloth and found it filthy, I moved the condiments tray and discovered bits of old food under it. To me this proves the staff don't clean properly and dont give a damn about hygene or customer health.The soup arrived, it turned out to be dehyrated powdered muck, disgusting and inedible.I wont be returning to this dive. My advice is avoid it at all costs.

We visited here on the 28th of December 2015 , my husband and mother had burgers the cheapest frozen burger ever.I had a toastie so did my daughter disgusting. They should be ashamed to call themselves a Welsh deli.Toilets needed a good clean tiles were disgusting no toilet paper dirty no towels to dry your hands this should be closed down

Food not that special but not poor either. Had 7 of us eat there and all food seemed ok sadly the tuna mayo comes with sweetcorn in it other than that nothing had no issues with the place staff seemed friendly and chatty.Nothing special but if passing ok to call in for a snack i suppose but wouldnt rush back

Nice little place, good service, nice food. Fast becoming my favourite cafe in the area. Have yet to try lunch here yet, but the menu is looking good.

We popped in for a few sandwiches on a very warm April day when the town was quite busy. It was quiet in the cafe (it's not a real deli)and we were served very promptly. We only ordered some baguettes and sandwiches - fairly simple fare. All were made freshly in front of us, and packed up to take away. We also had milkshakes - they are not your fancy proper milkshakes with ice-cream in, but made with Crusha syrup - the flavours brought back memories of holidays in the 80s!Prices were reasonable, food was fine and the staff were lovely.

When our previous lunch plans were thwarted we walked on up the Seafront until we reached the Welsh Deli and we were pleased to see that there was a wide range of dishes on offer. The interior is a bit old-fashioned but clean, and our meals (full english for me and omelette with salad for my wife) were fresh, tasty and excellent value for money.There is always room for improvement. Better table coverings would help, and some new menus to replace the slightly tatty ones would be a good idea. But in the areas that really count, the Welsh Deli gave us everything we wanted. I would be happy to go back there when we are next in Porthcawl.

Went in to try and get some tea and a toastie. One of the staff dropped a whole load of crockery on the floor, which didn't seem to surprise anyone, and there was no big rush to clear it up. Two of the staff began to argue about that, we couldn't get a tuna mayo toastie, (although if it hadn't been so awful something else would have done) and the whole place has an air of old grease and sadness. Walked out to find an awful cafe elsewhere that was a bit quieter.

Can say this is the worst place I have ever had lunch, looks welcoming from the outside but as soon as we stepped in we wish we hadn't, I wanted a baguette, the choices wernt great so opted for ham salad, the other half had bacon and egg barm. The bacon and egg must of been sat their a while and just warmed up on demand. The ham sandwich was not descript and tasteless. Was not offered and salad cream, mayo etc. Would definately not return,

I went here in the week for coffee and a toastie the food was ok. but the girl that served me looked like she had had enough for 1 day I think. the staff looked very miserable couldent fault the food but don't know if it was to do with the hot weather or what but quite a few places in porthcawl had staff like this as well. I was daytripping down from Cardiff for the day but don't know the area to well but that said the food was ok though. other people may have different openions but this is only mine here.

Looks great from outside food was terrible, chips were raw and inedible, in fairness returned food and got a refund.

We both had a medium breakfast.. Couple of points. Tomato obviously came out of a tin and was just added to plate. result was that everything was wet with tomato juice. Hash browns had obviously been hanging around for a while and the toast was made from poor quality - mass produced bread. We also ordered a pot of tea each. The 'pot' held about 1/2 pint of tea - which equated to a small cup and 1/2 small cup each. We were not impressed.

Thought we would get some Welsh food, but it a standard café, bacon/eggs ect, but overall not bad but just a café.

It is not difficult to cook a jacket potatoe is it? Mine was still raw in the middle came with a lump of margarine/spread in the middle which didn't melt as the potato was cold in the middle!! My partners cooked breakfast was also decidedly average greasy, cold toast ,cheap sausage all slapped on top of each other on a plate that was too small for the amount of food. Staff were more interested in their mobile phones than customers wouldnt go back

Food is very average to say the least and is made with what is clearly value ingredients and not charged at value prices, which leaves you expecting better.Staff service leaves a lot to be desired, a complete lack of communication between staff members. My drink did not arrive until I'd nearly finished my food.There are far better eating options in Porthcawl than this.

Friendly service but not what I expected. I was hoping for some welsh cuisine as name suggested but only basic cafe food and welsh cakes were the worded deserts on offer. Lemon drizzle cake was nice but that was it.

Went there with family and made feel very welcome. We had a Pepsi, 2 hot chocolate's with marshmallow on the top and coffee with Halloween fancy cakes. The hot chocolate drinks were the best it's ever had. Over all good value as well.

Called here for breakfast in the past about a year ago, hence the revisit. Shall not bother to return.Breakfast average tasteless contents and disappointing. Both eggs hard, cheap sausage. Staff behind the counter more interested in using the mobile phone, and pausing the call to get the food on the ring of the kitchen bell. Uneaten food being scraped into a bin behind the counter which was visible from where we were sat towards the rear of the cafe, just put me off.Lots of places to spend my money for breakfast and will cross this one off my list.

came here for breakfast on sun 8th sept. first impressions was really good, was greeted by a very friendly lady who immediately put two tables together for us so we could all sit together. highchair and colouring pens and books were given for my grandson. food was served freshly cooked and nice and hot. we would eat here again if in the area.

the place is clean the staff are nice but the breakfast was swimming in grease I have used this place a number of times and this is the first time I have had a problem.

Would not eat here again, had the ham roll and with crisps and coleslaw. Was a cheap roll with thin cheap ham, not very good quality and over priced for what you got. There are much better cafes in Porthcawl.

Rude and ignorant staff member. We weren't even acknowledged when we came in Ben though I struggled to get my pushchair through the closed door. What must have been a regular walked straight past us to the counter only to be acknowledged fondly and served. Got up to leave and she still ignored us. Poor poor customer service

Not a massive cafe, so gets quite busy on the weekends, but serves a lovely hot chocolate. The cakes look lovely but I didn't have one.
