I would never have guessed this pub is part of the Stonegate empire. It really does have the feel of a cosy local where the staff were engaging and helpful and the food was good VFM pub food. Not a gastropub but definitely fit for purpose. We'll be back.

Like the rest of the village, we usually don't eat here. For years, the food has been microwaved, cheap rubbish. So, after a few drinks and feeling hungry, we again gave the food a try. No change. Terribly poor food. No wonder when you visit, you don't see many people eating. The pub itself is brilliant, along with the staff. It's clean, tidy, and has a great selection. For a pub, I'd give it a 10. This place could be a goldmine.

Been here a few times but today… omg what went wrong?? My friend and I ordered the steak and venison pie and the chicken and pancetta pie for lunch. Meals came, mash had an old warmed up look to it, and the pies were BOTH STONE COLD inside! I spoke to the staff who said they’d get it sorted for us and removed the meals. I was horrified that both these meat dishes were clearly not cooked anywhere near properly. Because of this, I decided I was not happy to stay and eat here. I explained this and asked for a refund, which I got without any issue. (Someone else was complaining about their food too whilst I went to the bar. ) I was thoroughly disappointed as I’ve had nice food here before but this experience has put me off coming back. Not at all acceptable for a food establishment. I had spoke highly of your pub to my friend and felt like this experience spoilt our day. I felt it was more of a food hygiene / health and safety issue than “- oh we’ll get that sorted for you!”

First time at the Wellington inn and I loved it! I was given Red letter day vouchers and decided to use them here. The voucher itself was annoying and overly complicated to sort out before my dinning experience but the team at The Wellington Inn were a dream! From the moment I arrived they were friendly and helpful and made redeeming the voucher really easy. They were so welcoming! The food was incredible; good quality, delicious, great portions and made it to the table in great time. I'd recommend The Wellington Inn and I'll definitely be going back.

Really disappointed, you advertise yourself on Facebook as been so dog friendly and having a dog menu, but yet when we visited on Saturday I asked about the dog menu, to have a lady behind the bar flap about and eventually decide there wasn't any left to be told well we haven't much in anyway and to be asked what did I want ? Well, if I knew what you had, I wouldn't be asking for a menu .... I just said it didn't matter , I was offered treats in a bowl, which I turned down as I wanted something novel as you advertise. The food was disappointing. I ordered a fish goujon sandwich. I was told we don't have white bread, only brown .... when it came out, there were more chunks of lettuce than there were fish goujons ! Won't be returning

Well, firstly the staff were fantastic as always, as a family we've been coming to this pub for many years for Sunday dinner, which until now has always been excellent. Sadly things have changed for the worse, the Sunday dinner was absolutely appalling, and not much of it, the carrot I got (yes 1 halved carrot) was raw and so was the parsnip, it was still fibrous, the mash was dry instant mash and also cold, one peice of long stemmed brocoli, the meat was sliced so thin it was almost like sandwich meat, the roast potatoes tasted like canned potatoes that had been done in a airfryer. Yorkshire pudding was nice as was the gravy. The portion and plate size has also been reduced, we normally order a dessert, but didn't bother as we were all so disappointed in the meals (all Sunday dinners) we didn't want to be disappointed again. Sadly after many enjoyable meals here we won't be returning. We had also early last year booked up for Christmas Dinner, but we are seriously considering cancelling it now. Please be aware I'm just reviewing the food, the staff were as always, extremely polite, helpful and friendly.

Worst pub I’ve ever been to! Walked into a very frosty reception and told to leave and come in another door. Barely dog friendly as the waitress is scared of dogs so doesn’t serve you at the table and you have to fetch everything yourself. Charged double for something and was happy to rip us off instead of noticing and refunding. Steak and fish and chips was dreadful and overcooked. Didn’t have any cider on tap either. If you’re a local it’s probably lovely, if you’re not you’re treated terribly and like you have 8 heads. Should NOT be classed as a dog friendly pub. It’s shocking.

Beer garden is lovely but incredibly disappointing Sunday lunch. Took over an hour for our food to arrive, were offered extra gravy & yorkshires at the outset, not sure we needed extra gravy as the dinner came swimming in it. The roast potatoes were like something on a school dinner, there was no stuffing (despite being detailed on the menu), no cauliflower cheese available, the meat all tasted the same. The bar staff looked rushed off their feet and were apologetic when asked (after 40 minutes) when the food would be arriving. Parsnip s and cabbage nice. Mash tasted like out of a packet. And the dinner arrived with gravy all over it, Yorkshire was ok. There was a tiny gravy boat but no point after they had already smothered it. I'm not a lover of gravy , only a little. Meat was nice though. Friend had pie, well it wasn't actually a pie it was meat with a puff pastry lid on top and the vegetables were not cooked. The nicest part was the young girls serving, friendly and happy for a chat. Very strange and weird barman at the small bar near the front of the pub on Thursday early evening. I ordered a small wine he dissappeared and brought me back a medium wine and said he couldn't remember what size I ordered, so he went for medium. I pointed out to him that I was driving and only wanted a small wine, his reply was, "awh don't worry about that, you will be fine" not what someone wants to hear and it drew attention and as I was part of a funeral party I didn't want any drama. He obviously wasn't going to change it do I thought I would just drink equivalent to a small and leave it. He then produced the card machine and said, "Zap your card, no price was mentioned, so I said, what size wine are you charging me for " he replied a medium" so I said I wanted a small and I wasn't paying for a medium when I wouldn't be drinking it all as I was driving he then looked at me like I was awkward and charged me for the small wine. It's not rocket science just give the customer what they ordered and don't encourage drink driving. I think your staff training might be lacking which is sad as usually your staff are all excellent.

The atmosphere is great, service was alright but could have been better. Didn't mention free soft drinks when you order a burger. When I found out the woman said she couldn't do it after we placed the order. Not good customer service. Food was ok. The kitchen could work on their time management because some of the food was cold and others overcooked. However, the atmosphere was great and the other staff were super friendly and helpful. I'd come back but not for the food.

Many of the menu items were sold out. Not what you'd expect early Saturday afternoon. What we did get was lovely though

Just had a lovely lunchtime catch up with a friend in here today. We enjoyed our food, I had a cheese and bacon burger with fries which was delicious and then an Eton mess sundae for dessert which was a generous portion and nicely presented. The service was quick and very friendly and the atmosphere was also really friendly and pleasant. Will definitely be visiting again.

Used this venue many times as it’s near my home, but never been in since the revamp. They’ve done a real good job with the revamp. The staff are great, really friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Visited during the restaurant week offer and food was excellent. Good selection of beers and wines ranging from the usual to more premium options. Wife was equally happy with her meal too. Well impressed and looking forward to the Christmas menu.

Last time we came (in January) the menu was better. Today we dined with 2 vegetarians and there was v little they could have. I had a chicken Caesar salad, which in all honestly, I could have done a better job of myself. The poached egg on top was wet, the chicken cold and the iceberg lettuce looked like it had seen better days. There was no fish main on the menu aside from fish and chips. There was only one member of staff serving and despite it being practically empty, it took a while for our first drinks to arrive. Unfortunately we won’t be coming back.

The most expensive cafe in the uk she makes her own prices up she was always expensive but she's got that bad she put a little sign up near the samosas trying to justify it swear to god if u order a few of her mangy chicken sandwiches u could go to Miller and Carter watch how greedy she is with everything she puts on aswell one portion two portion she makes her price up buying a sandwich is like buying a BMW with the extras she charges you for on it half cheese full cheese me and me partner couldn't believe that one you need a credit rating of over 850 to walk in her door
