Greggs in Stockton-on-Tees

Really disappointed and disgusted with a staff member today. I work as a member of staff for a college which caters towards children with learning difficulties. Myself, two colleagues and two students were on a College sanctioned outing, where we decided to stop at Greg's for some refreshments . Once seated inside, having already purchased our drinks, one of the students requested a cookie but the queue was already quite long. To avoid the student having a meltdown in the middle of the store, I went up to the staff member at the till and tried to explain the situation, asking if I could quickly pay for a cookie. The member of staff (who I later found out was the manager), told me "you have to queue up" in a rather rude tone. I tried to apologise and explain the unique situation, however I was blatantly ignored. The lady who was being served at the time offered to purchase the cookie for the student (a very kind act i must emphasise), however the manager told her no and wouldn't accept the money. I went back to the student to try and explain that we'd have to wait to get the cookie, but the student was getting distressed, so I ended up going back to the till, and a younger staff member saw me waiting and offered to serve me. I am very grateful to this staff member, however disappointed in the manager. More than anything, her lack of acknowledgement or proper communication with me was the most disappointing. I understand that it was a delicate situation as there was a queue, however, the customers in the queue were fine with me going ahead of them as they could see the child was getting distressed, therefore the way the member of staff handled it was disappointing and completely inappropriate, specifically in the way she completely failed to acknowledge me as a customer, and out of spite, rejected another customers offer to pay for the cookie.

I used to buy a drink of hot chocolate before I continue to explore Teesside Park.

Polite staff and attentive with food at a reasonable price

Good morning at Greggs Tesside Park

Miserable woman with glasses decides to label pies instead of serving when the queue was out the door. I politely asked her if it could wait and if she could serve to be told NO they have to be done now. When she finally went behind the counter to help she served me to then announce they didn’t have chocolate in the machine so my order couldn’t be fulfilled. I’d stood in the queue for 20 mins to be told this! I was shocked and said are you joking there should be a sign on the door! To have her shout loudly for all to hear “I’m not having that I’m not serving you! “ I was dismayed to say the least as she had obviously not liked being asked to pull her finger out and serve. To be spoken to like this by a member of staff is disgusting! I will never return to that miserable place again as each and every one of the staff apart from the young girls (they are fab) are miserable as sin!

Greg's up north are always nicer than down south. Friendly and helpful assistant love this place when I'm up here

Asked if the sausage and bean melts were still warm, got told yes, I asked are you sure to which I got the response yes.. turns out it was cold. Absolute laziness which is a first for greggs

This is just a Nice little place like I love it the Sausage Rolls always taste so nice everytime I take a bite of this beauty the love is just there in the Sausage Roll. Well Done

Got here at 1035.. no hash browns, no sausages for breakfasts. Initially, 1 member of staff serving at speeds a snail would go quicker. Eventually, a 2nd member of staff decided to join the party. Took 15 minutes to get from the door to the counter. She was polite and very quick at what she did but scrimped on the HP sauce. Younger girl in the back putting food out and sorting the ovens. I did ask her if there were any hash browns ready to be told, no! Overall, considering this store is in the middle of a very busy retail park, I feel the turnaround is diabolical! If I'd have known the collection on the app was quicker as speedy gonazales who was sorting out the ovens seemed to run like the wind every time the monitor beeped and had items bagged and ready in no time I would have ordered that way instead.

Some Rude staff some are lovely pizzas always burnt wouldnt even feed to my dog

Could do with more tables and more people to wipe them down once in a while, too many kids working there

Very bad service today, waited in queue for some time, not busy just incredi ly slow. After finally getting to the counter only having to walk away empty handed when cashier had no change so couldnt take order. Left very frustrated and hungry...

No latte or hot drinks at 3.10pm told it was broken yet seemed to be working fine just getting cleaned..I would of gladly came back for one later if given the right answer to my question.

Shocking shop, to start if you can get served long queues to start with but that's because no one is serving... Either nothing left on the shelfs, or everything is burnt unedable absolutely cremated.. Been to other Greggs great tasting pasties and sausage rolls, but if you can get an uncremated pastie has a terrible taste of it's own.. And if your looking for breakfast never anything, no sausage no bacon sorry??? Everything is off card reader off, app is down, coffee machine not working we all know they switch them off ,to get rid of the big queues... This needs a shake up, and a visit quickly, coz I know alot of customers that work on the park are not returning.....

left you a 5 star review 9 months ago. My wife and I called in to your Teesside Park outlet today. The coffee and food was, as ever, very good. However, the PA system was blasting out Radio 2 at a ridiculously high volume level. It was so loud that it was intrusive and my wife and I found that conversation was impossible. It spoiled our visit and as we visit there every week, we have votwed that next time we visit if the music is at the same ear splitting decibel level, we will go elsewhere. Other food and drink providers are available nearby and they are not trying like Greggs at Teesside Park trying to run a discotheque rather than a cafe.

I go into Greggs most days as my parents both have cancer and are quite ill. They like a bacon roll and cheese and ham toasties etc.. Most of the time the service is good and apart from the coffee machine breaking down regularly, the standard is quite good with staff always pleasent but today I take exception in the fact I was confronted with one of the most unpleasent, rudest, self important mentally unstable people I have ever encountered, he made other staff members feel uncomfortable. He could not smile by accident and had a face like a three foot summons. When he barked what do you want ? I told him a bacon roll he then snapped back "sauce" I asked politely not to put any sauces on any of my order which on avarage £12 to £18 with other products. He then began lecturing me on Greggs policies. I asked him not to be confrontational and to take it down a notch and he went into meltdown. I said I came in most days without issue and he told me I did not, as he had been there three months. He then threw a huge tantrum when I suggested he needed more training in dealing with the public, this triggered him further and in a fit of rage he told me he was the manager ( his badge named him as Michael )and he'd been brought in to sort the place out, explaining robot fashion what his role was and why he was there. I asked him to calm down once more. He said he was calm and I would not want to see him angry. He then started to tearfully fill up, when I said I wanted to make a complaint to the head office. He stormed off to get me a number and he then shouted my complaint was not going to be taken seriously whatever and he would not serve me and I was to get out of the shop. The young girl working alongside him was clearly shaken by his behaviour and apologised, when he went out the serving area, she said do not worry I will take your order which she did without issue it came to £18.40 she told me she see's me there all the time and had served me several times before. I was handed the head office number by the disgruntled Michael who then started to help her process my order. I won't be going back any time soon.

Coffee Machines broken, yet again. Seems weekly occurrence lately.! No card machines working! No Rewards working!

My mum doesn't like mayonnaise or butter and the staff very kindly made up a ham salad baguette freshly. My mum said it was deliciously fresh. Thank you Greggs and you were fairly busy at the time too. Above and beyond service.

The queue was only short social distanceing was good, plenty of hand sanitizer available. Only negative think was the shop assistant was not very friendly at all.

Popped in for a snack. Greggs is Gregg's really but I thought I'd try the vegan sausage roll as I've decided to eat a bit better and eat less meat blah blah blah. Surprisingly it's really good !!!

Going down hill. Place was bare, no sandwiches available and some of the pasties too. It's our Local Gregg's which we often use. Good for picnic's in the summer.

Always pop to greggs where ever, value for money, tasty products, pleasant staff, clean area.

Cheese pasty format changed, lattice pastry with a splodge of cheese. Not impressed, not impressed at all. Bring back the cheese pasty as we know it!

Normally call in early for breakfast, baguettes or buns are nice and 9/10 are nice and warm. Only thing that is a minor issue is the lack of seating inside, there aint many and the tables are bit small, but there is additional seating outside with bigger tables if needed (and weather nice)

Everything you would expect from your normal Greggs. Prices are fair, food is great on the go, hot drinks and sandwiches are brilliant.

They are taking the P now £1.20 - £1,40 for one sausage roll, over £2 for a pasty, This branch has inside and outside seating, nice little rest spot when shopping, Greggs is now poor value

We eat here regularly and always enjoy the bacon rolls the tea and coffee is always good and hot, also love the corn topped buns which we also buy to take home

I found a visit to Gregg's Bakery to be just the thing when looking for a quick bite or a tasty cup of coffee, which i opted for in this case. The coffee ended up being fair to good and a lot better than i expected. Price was fair and hence recommended. There is a small seated area where you can rest your feet but it is small so i can see around busy times seats becoming rare. Food is also good with sandwiches as well as pastries been on offer. Hot or cold snacks available then.
