WELLINGTON PUB PRESCOT Disappointed in meal prices for what were pub classics. Atmosphere of the pub has dropped since we last visited, probably due to prices, had it not taken time to get through peak time traffic, we would've have left and gone elsewhere. Staff inattentive, ordered coffee, forgotten about then when it arrived it looked like half a cup of mud. Please can the pub go back to how it was before, we won't be visiting again. Positive portion size for £14.99 each for fish and chips was okay, but can get the same 2 meals for £12 during the week in other pubs.

Staff always really helpful and nice people. Food is hit and miss, today the carvery was superb. One comment I will add I took my dad here today who's in a wheelchair it was extremely difficult to get him into the pub as the ramp was not fit for purpose. We had to get him out and two of us had to help him and one of us had to push the wheelchair empty. This is discriminatory for disabled people and I would not go back there again. Greene King you should make this a priority for your customers.

Good morning. We were s party of 4 called into celebrate a birthday on Monday evening. We all decided to opt for the steak offer. 2 steaks & a bottle of wine £30 x 2. I ordered & paid for the meals when I was charged £71.90 I queried this showing the assistant what was advertised on the menu. He then informed me that that meal offer was no longer available & anyway they had no steaks! I queried then as to why it was still on the menu, advertised on your Facebook page, & also on the till screen! The reply I got back was that you are waiting on new menus being printed. Your manager then came over ,apologised & refunded the £71.90. Needless to say the birthday celebrations were spoilt!!

Wow, what can I say? Not been to The Wellington for a few years, but decided to go last night on the way to the Shakespeare North and what a really pleasant surprise. We got a lovely warm welcome when we arrived. The staff were so nice. Our meals were delicious, piping hot and well presented (compliments to the Chef). Would highly recommend and we would certainly return. We'll done The Welly!!

Never had the worst food ever and to make it worse the horrible chef argued with me. To be honest I wouldn’t give me dog the carvery. Very disrespectful to paying customers. Her attitude is so letting a lovely pub down. But I can’t fault lovely lady on bar who who was very apologetic. And was very attentive so thank you. Just a little thank you to the great service I received on Friday. I'm a lone parent of a 4 year old and 18month old. So going out for a family meal is normally met with lots of stress. The staff here totally took that away. As soon as I walked in with 2 little children was met at the bar and greated with I will get you a high chair, my colleague will serve you and bring over your drinks. . Instead of the juggling act that have met elsewhere. Meals where brought over with an abundance of cutlery for the kids to use and a big one for me the plates where not warm (so grateful, again normally got to shout at kids not to touch the plate) The staff kept checking that we were ok and even found a dummy which I hadn't known my youngest had gotten rid of while I was distracted by my eldest. You don't realise how grateful I am as all the stress had been taken away and was made an enjoyable experience.

Everyone happy with their meals, all cooked beautifully and good value we thought. We were able to sit and chat over coffee and because it wasn't busy we weren't rushed. Coffee and cake also good value at £4.50 Staff we encountered were all friendly, the reason I have given four is because it was a little bit chilly in there. Worst place I’ve been locally. Got a meat platter dish. 2 sausages, chunk of beef brisket, pork belly with chips and bbq beans. The sausage was ok. The beef was tough and the pork belly looked like it had been cooked a week ago. Didn’t each much of it. So I thought I’d try a pudding only to be told I needed to spend more than £5 to use my card!!!!!!! What a rip off. So didn’t bother with the pudding. Left the place hungry. Never again.

The Wellington has been one of my favourite pubs for years, with a great atmosphere, good food and a varied choice of beer and wine. The bar staff were nice and friendly. I've been away for a bit, so haven't been in for a couple of months, until last week. There's a new landlord and, since he's been there, most of the old bar staff have been replaced. Now there's very little choice of wine. What there is, I would describe as poor. Most are only in small bottles which, to add insult to injury, are overpriced. The drinks prices in general seem to have gone up a lot in a very short time. The atmosphere is really different. Within a few weeks the pub has changed from a friendly local, where you could pop in for a pleasant drink and a bite to eat. It's lost its character and its quality, which is a real shame.

Me, my wife and two kids are regulars at the Wellington pub. We always come on a sunday to have a family meal. Me, my vegetarian wife and my two kids are always satisfied with the hygiene of the pub and the food that the Wellington provides. Unfortunately, the bar staff are unfriendly, impatient and overall, rude, which always makes my children upset. The waiting on staff are however, delightful. Our kids are very fond of the waitress who always serves us. She is kind, polite and always provides us with whatever we need during our time at the Wellington pub. This makes my family’s visit worthwhile. Me and my family would highly recommend.

It's a while since I visited The Wellington. It used to be my local and I meet friends there occasionally. Of the two pubs in Eccleston Park, which is the local area, this was always superior to The Grapes, just down the road. It's not the case now! It wasn't marvellous when I was last in, but apparently it has now changed hands and it's certainly a change for the worse. Previously, there was a reasonable range of wines, but not now. From the limited choice on offer we had Pinot Grigio, which was mediocre. It did come from Italy but had been bottled in the UK. I think that says it all.The food was also disappointing. On a previous occasion we had tried the carvery and had been impressed by the homemade substantial Yorkshire puddings. They weren't available when we were there this time. There were hardly any vegetables, apart from potatoes, either, and this was well before the finishing time for the carvery. The plates for the carvery were Pyrex, which you might expect in a canteen but not in a pub restaurant. To be fair, I think the plates were the same last time, but at least the food was better then. The paper napkins were the thinnest I have ever seen. The new landlord had an opportunity here to make something more of this pub. From what I heard from the friends I was with, local people had been hoping for an upgrade, but it seems he has chosen to go for the cheaper end of the market. What a pity. We'll be meeting somewhere else in future.

Had high hopes for this place and sadly they weren't just dashed they were smashed to pieces. The staff looked and acted like they didn't want to be there, the so called crispy breaded mushroom starter was anything but crispy and as for the mains, they were absolutely dire. The "cottage pie" looked like a brown soggy mess with a sponge cake topping, and the cheesy potato pie tasted horrible and the pastry was soggy and tasteless. Definitely won't be visiting again. If it was possible to give half a star rating I would, and only then because they serve beer. On the plus side they did undercharge us but that's the only positive thing to take from this experience.

My wife and I visited the Wellington recently for the first time in a while and although the food was above average and the staff accommodating in that I asked for a jacket potatoe instead of chips with my new yorker chicken , my wife enjoyed her 10 ounce gammon , 2 meals for £12 was certainly competive and value for money . On the downside there was no atmosphere in the wellington as considering its a week to Christmas no music/Christmas records were being played which was a shame as that I believe enhances the occasion at this time of year.

Hungry on a Sunday so decided for a carvery from "the welly" the food was nice and reasonably priced. Looks like they have brought out another new menu since I have been in so I will be popping back to try this.

Went with friends for tea. Decided to have carvery as it looked lovely and was reasonable at £5.50. Was ok except for the beef which was very chewy and tough to even cut up. Was disappointed as it looked lovely. When we pointed it out to a staff member he just nodded and smiled and didnt say a word. We felt like we were just ignored. Wouldnt recommend and wont return.

Came with my partner for a evening meal we have been before the food is always good even if we have to wait for it but tonight we didn't wait long even though it was a Saturday night we notice a few staff members eating on there days off which is a good sign but as always the table and the bar service were poor waited a while for service at the till as there were about 3-4 men sat next to it which really put me off n trying to get staff attention is difficult but normal in this pub waited ages for plates to be cleared and weren't asked if we wanted desserts as the staff who were working we felt were talking and laughing n joking with staff who weren't working and the door bell noise was going off quite a lot but they didn't stop talking we honestly felt that the staff members who where eating are more important then we are very Dissatisfied an disappointed might not go back again

Nine of us came for a meal at the weekend. The food was okay, but please sort out what is or isn't gluten-free. There were two gluten-free options on the menu but the barmaid (who was very pleasant and helpful) checked the allergy folder and these items were NOT gluten-free, and neither were the chips, although ham, egg and chips was a GF menu option. This isn't good enough. I could have ordered them without checking and become ill. Eventually settled on Chicken New Yorker with mash which was GF and nice.

Last night at the Wellington pub, Eccleston Park, the usual excellent quiz night was made even more special by the guest appearance of Barry Simmons of B.B.C.'s "Eggheads" fame. This was to help raise money for the two causes "Willowbrook Hospice" and "Macmillan Cancer Relief". We had a great time and it was really good to be part of this local community, have a drink and raise money at the same time. This pub has raised thousands of pounds for these two causes over the last few months.Barry Simmons was extremely entertaining and accommodating, but an even bigger thanks needs to go to Mike, the regular quizmaster, who, as usual, did a sterling job on what must have been quite a taxing evening for him.Well done to all!

Has been waiting overall 10 minutes to some one to open the door, because they didn't unblocked the swipe card even after the payment. Some man who is in the club opened the door, but not the staff. They has got about 10 cameras in every facilities and hear the bell several times, after that even didn't apologized.

Visited Carr Mill in 17/10 with family and Leo the Pug. Food and drinks were served by Sophie and others quickly upon ordering. Food was hot and tasty, ordered 3 courses each. Only gripe is that when visiting the toilet there is never any hot water running when washing hands, thankfully the missus always carries wipes on her.

Went last week to celebrate a friends birthday. The lunches were excellent , service was really good and a comfortable place to enjoy a meal and very reasonably priced. Can highly recommend - will definitely visit again.
